Omg this is the vibe! Everyone needs to go here at least once! Chill environment, beautiful scenery and outstanding service (i think her name was Jennifer). Food was amazing! I will be back!

Los Alamos has so many great spots and it was fun to visit another. I love the patio and it is wonderfully dog friendly. The mixology at the bar is a bit slow but the food is tasty. My spouse's burger was so delicious and my fried egg sandwich was tasty. I was surprised the homestyle potatoes on the side of the egg sandwich were so good. I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Found this amazing Gem by accident and I'm so so glad we did !!! Don and Oscar made our evening fantastic and we couldn't be more appreciative of their TOP NOTCH customer service! We absolutely loved the ambience and can't wait to come back. The food was absolutely phenomenal!! The burger, wings and poke nachos were to die for ! The S'mores dessert is a MUST! The S.Y.P is my go-to drink on a summer night !!! It's so freshening and it has a nice kick to it. If you're anywhere near Los Alamos then you HAVE to make your way to this amazing place, you won't regret it !! Oh and it's perfect for everyone ! Perfect for a date night or a large party. What are you waiting for ??? EAT HERE.

A wonderful spot in Los Alamos! The Makers Son has everything you are looking for in a restaurant if you are visiting the Los Alamos area. They have a great drink list and many local wines on their list to choose from. We sat outside on a warm summer night. There is a huge space in the back with tables, a little garden area and some vintage tractors that my kids loved of course. We started with a few appetizers including the Grilled Watermelon Salad which was so delicious and different than anything I have had! It's grilled watermelon with arugula and feta cheese and a balsamic glaze. We also had the Poke Nachos . This was great for sharing and the poke was very fresh and the wontons as nachos were a fun way to eat them. We also had Smoked Chicken Wings which were super meaty and had an amazing smoky flavor. For entrees we had the Maker's Burger, which had some delicious sauces and a nice brioche bun and the Smoked Steak with the most amazing chimchurri and added some grilled shrimp to it. My kids loved the Orecchiette Mac and cheese and the waffle fries. My toddler ate so. many. fries. For dessert, you cannot miss the apple pie! A delicious take on a classic dessert. The food quality was so great here - amazing flavors overall. The staff was helpful and I loved the setting. A can't miss if you are in area.

Great place, friendly staff, lovely historic setting with a great menu. Ahi Poke Nachos amazing!! Sushi grade ahi & wonton chips The best I've ever had.

We brought a party of 12 to Maker's Son for my moms 60th. Plenty of room in this huge restaurant, we sat on the beautiful side patio for our reservation. Excellent customer service, food and drinks. We even brought a cake from a Santa Barbara bakery which the owner held for us in a cooler until after dinner then provided everything to serve it. Highly recommend.

Finally, we were able to make it back! Figured out that this place does rent out their whole facility for private events. We had made the trip a couple times in the past only to find them closed. I figured out that I need to check their website to see if they were hosting a private event. That is we're they put that information. Not on yep lol Anyhow, we were pleasantly greeted and my husband want to sit inside at the bar again but it was full. So took a table on the side patio. They were pretty busy but that didn't stop our waitress from being attentive. Did wait a little longer for our drinks. They arrived after we had enjoyed our appetizer of scrumptious ahi nachos but we figured either the bar tender was slammed or the kitchen was fully on point or both. No worries. We received our delicious dinner in a timely manner. The burger was delicious and my husband devoured it. I really enjoyed the Cesar salad. I added chicken. The chicken was nicely cooked and not dried out. Verdict: we will return again!

This place is such a unique dining experience. Pretty much all the seats are outdoors in a spacious garden setting. There's fire pits and gas heaters to keep the diners cozy. I had the opportunity to eat here on New Year's Eve on a prix fixe so I can't speak for the whole menu but the meal was absolutely delicious. Everything was really well prepared, fresh and appropriate for the season. Drinks are a bit pricey but they are well poured and have fresh ingredients. Treat yourself to a great dinner in a beautiful setting.

Terrific location! Great service! Amazing food! And they offer a great variety of cocktails. We really enjoy sitting on the patio watching the world go by. One of our favorite brunch and dinner spots.

Wonderful food and the owner took time to tell us about the town, amenities and wine producer info. Great food with a mindful menu and wine list from local wineries. Had Eggs Benedict and avocado toast. So good.... Can't get any better than this. Kathleen

We love the Maker's Son!!! Every meal we've enjoyed there has been stupendous. The ahi nachos and ahi on their dinner menu are the stand outs. My daughter loves their burger. The risotto is also divine.

I have such fond memories as a child of going to the restaurant in the hotel and running around outside. Patrick and Sara, the new owners, and inviting and charming: they seem to intuitively understand this community and we're lucky to have them! I ordered the Lo-Fi Cab Franc (chilled - excellent!) and the chicken sliders and everything was delicious and top notch! Can't recommend the food enough and the hotel is finally in the loving hands she's deserved for so long!

I stayed here for a wedding as a guest of the bridal party and this place was not it. First off, as a woman who is getting ready for a wedding, you would hope for decent lighting in the bathrooms to do makeup. There is barely any lighting at all in any of the bathrooms. The lighting is so bad in every bathroom that every woman had to go to the grooms room to do makeup. Even the bride in her suite had to bring in huge studio lights to do her makeup. The lights in my room were so dim that at night I could keep them on it made no difference to my night vision. Also, most rooms did not offer anything beyond a face mirror in the bathroom. So if you want a full view of your outfit, you will may need to go to another room depending on which room you booked or use the mirror downstairs. Another thing, it is not clearly communicated on their website or anywhere really that most of the rooms do not have their own showers/baths. So you will be sharing a shower or bath with the rest of the rooms. So just be prepared for that. I personally did not find it charming in the least. Also it is very dark in the shower room as well. Another guest used their phone light for extra light. There is no good place to leave your towels once done, even in your own room. Also please keep in mind I paid $300 a night for this. I did not find the lack of functionality charming. I was also terribly cold at night in November. I don't know if extra blankets were available at the first desk (we ended the night late both nights) but none were available in room. Also they say there is a lot. There is no lot. It is all street parking. There is not a lot to do in the area beside what is on the main stripe, so please keep that in mind as well. I just can't recommend staying here as a guest at the price listed or what I paid at least.

NOTE: For groups of 6 or more, they offer tastings at the vineyard. First visit and had a very nice tasting experience. The winery is in the heart of downtown Los Alamos, directly across the street from the post office. It has a cozy vibe with a nice wine bar and lounge seating area. Ramon, the owner/winemaker, was friendly and provided an interesting history of his family's wine journey. My wife and I shared the two tastings: Estate wines (Grenache, Syrah Noir, and Cab. Sauv.) and Meadowlark Vineyard wines (Syrah, Meritage, Red Blend, and Reserve Cab. Sauv.). They have 17 acres planted at the estate vineyard and they use French oak barrels, with a blend of new and neutral for aging. They produce about 600-800 cases a year, so definitely a boutique winery. The wines are well-made, and quite tasty. We took several bottles home with us. Amada Cellars is a nice place, and I recommend that you check them out when visiting the Los Alamos/Santa Ynez wine region.

I continued the conversation and asked if there were any discounts if I were to buy a larger quantity like half a case. He told me we could work something out. I bought seven bottles and all he did was waive the tasting fee. In my mind, that means he lied to me! The wines are decent, but pretty expensive, even overpriced for what they are. The tasting room is nicely appointed with clean restrooms, and the people are nice enough, but don't expect any bargains. I'll never return just because he promised a discount for the quantity I purchased, then reneged and gave me nothing. He thought waiving the tasting fee was sufficient. I mean he wouldn't even give me 5 or 10% for being a disabled veteran. I'm not a fan of bait & switch sales tactics like that. Enjoy the $280 I spent. It's the last you'll see of my money! I see that the owner has responded to every review written so far. My advice is to not respond to this one. Take your $280 and leave it at that. You can only make things worse by responding to this because I'll reduce my rating and include your response in my edited review.
