So I know personally from experience that, for the most part, "computer nerds" aren't the most sociable people with infectious personalities. This guy DJ, the owner, is just like that. His customer service skills are extremely piss poor! He keeps pushing you to pay $50 for a consulting fee without detailed explanation of his capabilities and any assurance whatsoever that he can get the job done. When this was SIMPLY and respectfully stated to him as a potential customer concern, he threw a tantrum like a little kid and hung up like a little punk. Computers are major purchases where you are spending as much as $3000 or more!!! Thats not chump change in this current economy. I was prepared to drop that because I need what I need and I have the money. However, just because a person may be smart enough to understand everything about motherboards, RAM Memory, and processor chips doesn't mean he knows how to conduct business properly!!! That seems to be the case here! If you are spending hundreds upon thousands of dollars, you want to be assured that you have someone that's going to be reliable and personable enough to answer your basic questions! Trust and believe that I know enough about computers that I'm not just asking errant non-applicable nonsense! When you get down to brass tacks, I just wanted to be assured that he was capable of delivering what i needed for the amount of money I was planning to spend (thousands) with him as opposed to going to a big box retail store. His lack of decorum, class, business knowledge, and patience was what I received! We don't patronize a business because they know they have the knowledge in their head but otherwise can't convincingly assure the paying customer that they and their money are in good hands! I took my laptop to Dan's Computers late summer to order and install a battery for my HP laptop. It…read morewas during COVID and most of my international work is online through Zoom, so it was hard to find a time to come in. I finally found it and left it for a day to install. I got it back to home and my office and within 2 weeks found the battery wasn't charging as it was supposed to--2 hours vs. 12 that it should provide. I called Dan's and spoke to the staff person who had installed it. He told me it was in the warranty period--1 month--and that he would notate the problem in his system so I could come in whenever I was able in the next few monthswork schedule and COVID and they check it and reorder the battery for free and re-install it. I finally got a day w/o Zooms and work and brought it in and talked to the manager who opened my computer and said the battery was faulty. But he went on to say they would charge me for a new battery. I told him his staffer had made a notation within the warranty period and told me it would be a free replacement. He checked his system and said their was no notation so it was my problem and I'd have to pay the entire cost of a new battery, but he would help with labor. I told him it wasn't my fault that his staffer forgot to add it to the system and I would like to talk with him or he could call him since I thought he'd remember our discussion and the problem. He refused and said he wouldn't call him, he wouldn't let me talk to him, and he ordered me out of the store when I said this was bad customer service and I shouldn't have to pay for the bad battery they installed. I will never go back to Dan's computer. The manager was terribly rude, basically insinuated I was lieing, but refused to ask his staffer that I talked to to confirm what I was saying. I will take my business to other local computer stores and let all my friends and family know how frustrating and unfair Dan's Computer manager is!!!

Even thought the seller had a no return policy, my purchase cost was immediately refunded. G&N Services is about 250 miles from where I live so I wanted to talk to a tech to see if he thought it even worth the shipping cost. I was told that the Tech Alberto was out on a call and he would call me as soon as he came in. After I explained what the problem was he suggest the same scanner that he found available on eBay that was considerably less than what the shipping of this one to them, plus their diagnostic fee and no guarantee that this one could even be fixed. This is AMAZING customer service. Before calling me Alberto had this suggested scanner already looked up to give me it's item number, I have never gotten this kind of service from any place I can recall; they actually turned business away to give me the best possible solution. Instead of having me bring it in, or coming to my address, I was given some very, very excellent, and free, advice over the phone! The advice was to return the HP printer; and, exchange it for a Brother printer. I am extremely pleased that I followed the advice given by NMPCMD!!
