Happy loves Paws At Play.
Ga D.

Our dog, Happy, loves this place. We were looking for a place for her to play because we were eventually going on vacation and since we didn't plan on a 3rd dog, our vacation plans didnt include her. We were told she was too timid around playful dogs at the place up the street and her packmates at home are all seniors, so we worried. Went to a few other day care boarding places on Rt 70 in Raleigh and this was the one that was magic for us...and this one had no huge fenced cage with 40 dogs trying to find some personal space...omg. We love Paws At Play because: 1. They weren't over crowded 2. Permanent kennels with windows 3. Vet on site daily for the bumps and tears that sometimes happen and booster shots scheduled in for us...big time saver let me tell you 4. Report cards are adorable.....we watch for her friends names now 5. Training reinforcement we asked for was done 6. She forgives us for having to ride in the car to get there as soon as she sees the fron door 7. She comes home tired and sleeps most of the next day, too Would love web cams like a competitor, but rather have them concentrait on hiring good staff and taking care of my dog. Thanks, Paws at Play!

Baxter during his vacation at Paws at Play

I scheduled a vacation and I couldn't take Baxter with me, so we found Paws at Play in brier creek, near the airport. Baxter loved this place. He ran around, played and socialized with other dogs. The staff is really helpful and trustworthy. I think Baxter will love to spend more time at this place.

A tired cattle dog is a happy cattle dog!

Four Paws Pet Sitting Services

We have used this pet sitting service 3x in the last 3 months and couldn't be happier…read more We struggled trying to find someone on short notice (the BF isn't a planner), but we were thankful to find this company. The initial interview with Nadia was informative ( our cats did not behave, but that didn't deter the service). She explained all of the services that would be provided and provided us with the magnet card for the fridge. This was to be used for scanning in and out of the house. You need to log into your account to see the time stamp in and out and the standard information of the pet care. The website is easy to navigate! Our sitter, Hannah, is awesome and she sends daily updates along with the picture of our allusive babies (they are hiders, but this last visit they finally came out to say HI!). I think Hannah was super stoked to get the rare sighting of our Tuxedo Man, as he's not fond of strangers. You could tell by email she was elated! She has crawled under beds to try to capture these two and we thank her for that! She lays out their toys so she knows if they are coming out while she's away and that's comforting to know. She also hides treats around the house to make sure they are coming out as well. On our first trip away, it was just a long weekend, but it's hard to leave your fur babies, we arrived to a clean litter box, food and water full, and the floor free from litter (cat owners know this is no easy feat). When we were gone on another vacation, the snow--apocalypse happened in Raleigh. Four Paws contacted us immediately regarding the weather. They kept us up to date about the status of the roads. Since we just have cats, we didn't want anyone to risk too much by driving, since these babies don't have to be let out and other animals may have needed that attention more., so we told them that if it was too dangerous to not risk it and just try again the next day. They continued to update us and did make it to the house safe and sound. We even told her to not stay the full time just to make sure she was safe. Hannah's emails are funny and written just as how I picture she talks. We enjoy these little tid bits as we are enjoying vacations away from the babies. I really like the services that we have received and they will be booked soon for another vacation we have planned next month!

Unreliable & Disorganized…read more We're new to the area and I needed to find a new pet sitter to cover a planned weekend trip next month. I originally reached out to Four Paws based on good reviews I saw here, but unfortunately had a very frustrating experience instead. Firstly, before being willing to discuss anything they demanded that I make an account on their website and then fill out an extremely lengthy profile. Then, a day or so later, they emailed to ask for specifics for our trip and said they'd be arranging a visit with our sitter, which I answered that same day. Then, after a lull in communication, I got another email asking for the same information I'd provided previously. I provided it again and, again, nothing happened. Finally, having wasted over a week with their cumbersome process and these communication difficulties, I emailed again to ask what was going on... only to get an email back saying their only pet sitter in this area was on maternity leave for the next month and that they couldn't help me - something that they should have know days and days earlier. Now I will have to scramble to find some other arrangements, causing a lot of needless stress and anxiety and possibly putting our plans in jeopardy. They did offer some suggestions of other pet sitters in the area to use, but to those reading this - save yourself a lot of hassle and headache and just pick someone else. UPDATE: The business has responded below by posting private emails including my email address out of context, but only the last set of emails, ignoring the fact that they seem to have lost the first set, and then accused me of lying. I deeply regret giving them any personal information in the first place and would strongly encourage others not to do so.

It turned out I found out I am traveling for the holiday and needed to find someone to watch my kitty. I was lost. It was a week from Christmas making finding an opening a Herculean task. Enter Yelp and all of the great businesses! I found the reference for Phoebe's and really liked what I read. I called to make an appointment and the owner Melissa got right back to me. We set an appointment to meet the next day in the afternoon and she would bring the sitter. I was nervous because while my girl is friendly, she is VERY particular. I didn't have to worry. She immediately took to Sheena putting all of my anxiety to rest. They both asked great questions on my cat's care and wanted to know everything on how to give the best care. They went over everything from food to litter to cost...which considering the timing is not bad. It's $20 per visit and they would cover everything from feeding to getting the mail to taking out the trash. If you need to leave town and need someone to take care of your beloved fur baby...don't hesitate! I'm sure Melissa and her crew will be more than happy to take on the job!

On the initial interview she blew me away with her questionnaire. She was very specific about learning their habits and asked about the pet emergency kit! That's when I knew she was serious! She's been doing daily walks for over a year. My husband and I are nurses and we have ever changing schedules and Melissa has shown so much flexibility with us. I feel so lucky to have her daily medical and behavioral assessments. She has helped us enrich the lives of our dogs by making suggestions for treat puzzles, stroller for my old man dog, minimizing competitive behaviors, and urgent trips to the vet. I can't emphasize her influence here enough. She truly cares about the physical and mental health of the boys. She takes extra special care of my elderly 17 year old man dog. They love her so much they howl when they see her drive up! She is also quite the photographer. It's wonderful to receive pictures of my boys enjoying their day with her while I'm at work. Many of them are "frame-worthy." We feel so lucky to have gotten a spot with Melissa, peace of mind with your pets is priceless! I also want to say that Melissa found an injured turtle in my neighbor's driveway. She took it to NCState for treatment. She is an angel!

One of our dogs gets very anxious and aggressive around new people. It takes a long time for him to recognize new people as being safe. One of the caregivers came over for a temperament test and it didn't go well at all. I had high hopes that they could work with him but I quickly realized that they couldn't, and she agreed. The issue is the there is no guarantee that the same sitter will come to your home to watch your pets. I contacted them several months in advance and they still could not work with me to have one person watch my dogs. I understand that this is how they run their business and respect it. That said, I would only recommend them if your dogs are not anxious like mine and are okay with different people coming over to watch them.

That's when my wife saw that Kelly's Critters offered pet transportation too. We called and they took "old cat" to the vet and no exaggeration-saved his life. They started some new meds and "old cat" is on the mend. The cute videos they send when they visit are precious. They saved the kitty, and I think they saved my wife's heart and sanity. The quality of care was amazing and we'll definitely use them again.
