We've been taking our Goldendoodle to Paws at Play, Wake Forest, since he was 8 months old, and he loves it there. He goes 3 days a week for daycare and is boarded whenever we travel. It's his home away from home, and he wants to go there all the time. He'll even pace in front of the garage door when it's time to go! The staff is amazing and he loves them all. We had a long weekend where he didn't get to go and he was miserable. We took him for a drive thinking it would settle him down. NOPE, he wouldn't get out of the car when we got home. Dr Jessica Stall is a NC State Vet School grad, young & on the cutting edge in her field, compassionate, caring, genuinely loves animals, not pompous or pretentious, she & her friendly staff all truly care about animals, & they all actually returns calls (including Dr Stall personally). This is my final time bringing King to this place. Very nervou, shaking and unsettled when I picked him up. Bag of food empty but they stated he didn't eat much. Thirsty and starving. had to pull over and give King water.. I believe he was just placed in a crate from 9:30 until I picked him at 2:15pm. He would even just rest when we got him home!! My black lab dog Beamer went for six days of boarding. He had been to the Wake Forest location and loved it. Brier Creek location is conveniently located next to the airport, we were able to pick him up right when our plane landed. He had a great time as he loves all day play. He did get a few sores on his feet, as he is used to being inside most of the day. However, the boarders called me and left a message until I spoke with them. They had removed him from all day play until his paws felt better. They were not visibly hurting other than he kept favoring them. I think this is normal for most dogs that aren't used to running around all day. I am very happy for the helpful people at Paws at Play. read more

Our dog, Happy, loves this place. We were looking for a place for her to play because we were eventually going on vacation and since we didn't plan on a 3rd dog, our vacation plans didnt include her. We were told she was too timid around playful dogs at the place up the street and her packmates at home are all seniors, so we worried. Went to a few other day care boarding places on Rt 70 in Raleigh and this was the one that was magic for us...and this one had no huge fenced cage with 40 dogs trying to find some personal space...omg. We love Paws At Play because: 1. They weren't over crowded 2. Permanent kennels with windows 3. Vet on site daily for the bumps and tears that sometimes happen and booster shots scheduled in for us...big time saver let me tell you 4. Report cards are adorable.....we watch for her friends names now 5. Training reinforcement we asked for was done 6. She forgives us for having to ride in the car to get there as soon as she sees the fron door 7. She comes home tired and sleeps most of the next day, too Would love web cams like a competitor, but rather have them concentrait on hiring good staff and taking care of my dog. I've been taking my pup here for almost 5 years now and have not a single complaint. Dr. Stallings and the vet techs are amazing and the front desk people are always so cheerful. Even during Covid, I felt comfortable letting my pup go in without me because you can tell they really love the animals. Vets and vet techs don't get enough recognition for the hard work they do. Any questions I've had, being the overprotective dog mom I am, have always been answered and never brushed off no matter how minimal. Just had Lito's teeth cleaned and they did a wonderful job. The staff is wonderful!! I've boarded my yellow lab here, as well as had him in day care, and I'm extremely impressed with the love and attention he's shown. Before trying out Paws at Play, I tried Camp Bow Wow in Durham, and I was not impressed with their customer service, nor the fact that their playgroups are so large and under-stimulating. At Paws at Play, I can leave my dog, knowing that he's getting a lot of individual attention. The playgroups are smaller, so the dogs get a lot more interaction time with the staff. I think that the concept of doggie daycare is hilarious and wonderful! I have never had to board my little guy until this week b/c they are doing construction in my house. I did not want him to be barking his head off at the construction workers and cooped up in a crate all day, so I thought this would be a good idea and luckily enough, I was able to find a Living Social for it. I went to turn in my guest profile outlining all of the little quirks my weirdo has so that the staff would be prepared and they were nice enough to offer me a tour and description of what his day would look like. He is at his third day of daycare today and he is just loving it! He is smiling from ear to ear when I pick him up and super exhausted from all of the playing! The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating and I have been so pleased with my decision to bring my little man here for a few days. I would absolutely recommend anyone to come drop off their doggie here for some fun! Side note- my favorite part is the report card that you get when you pick up your little angel describing how they behaved that day- super adorable and funny! read more

I strongly recommend that you do NOT bring your dog here. We purchased a 5 day daycare package for our young puppy of 12 weeks and have nothing but extreme regret to report. We stupidly gave this place multiple chances after each disappointing visit until today when our poor fur baby got extremely hurt. I went to pick him up around 5 PM and the lady at the front desk nonchalantly hands me his daily report card without saying a word to me. I read the comments/concerns area of the report which stated that had been limping after getting hurt during AM play and sat out the rest of the day to rest. I look back up at her and asked what happened and why I was not called regarding this injury. She simply replied we usually don't call unless it's a situation in which "he's bitten and bleeding." WHAT?!? When signing up our pup for daycare we very clearly in person and in the application stated that we would like to be contacted in case of any emergency in addition to having him immediately treated because they are ALSO a veterinary hospital! Neither of which were done. His camp counselor comes out with him limping and after asking her for more details she reports that he was "trampled" and "stepped on" by other dogs when coming back in from playtime and that next time she will carry him. I don't understand how this happened if he was suppose to be playing with the smaller dog group given that he's still a baby. I am VERY upset and frustrated by the carelessness and incompetency of the staff here. In prior visits, Bruno would come back home extremely parched and with his lunch bags completely full and untouched. One of his visits we paid for an overpriced $32 bath, which never appeared to be completed (I am fairly certain of this due to the fact that he had a small, dirty patch of muddy fur on his back which was still there when I picked him up). All in all, I genuinely can not think of a single positive for this place aside from most of the staff being fairly friendly and some aspects of the daily report card . The location is incredibly inconvenient off of 70, a literal nightmare during morning and afternoon traffic. We live less than two miles away and I absolutely dread the drive to and from there. As I mentioned earlier, I like the comments/concerns and who their best friend for the day was in the daily report cards, however favorite daily activities such as "playing with goblin and ghouls" or "searching for butterflies" is ridiculous. Some people may find that cute, but just tell me what my dog did. Even better, they should have cameras in which you can check up on what your pup is doing during the day. Lastly, I do not like that the whole place seems to be ran by young teenagers. When I asked if there was a manager I could speak to regarding the incident of my dog being injured there, there was no one available to speak with. We literally see our puppy as our child and are beyond disappointed by how he was cared for at this establishment. We refuse to ever bring him back here and now have some major trust issues with him being in the care of anyone else. read more

Let me start this review by saying I treat my dog as if she was my daughter. I am very overprotective of her and since she is a rescue, she is very attached to me. I have never had to board her in the 5 years that I have had her and was very nervous. After a lot of research we decided that this seemed like the best place to board her. With that said, I just picked my furry child Bailey up from Paws at Play Brier creek last night. This is the second time we have used them for boarding. She was there for 6 nights this time and 4 the time before. She loves it there! She is always very sleepy when I pick her up (which is a huge change from her typical bouncy Boxer behavior) and she just looks happy. She fell asleep in the first 5 minutes she was in the car! Lol! I love how attentive the staff is and I love how I don't have to tell them who I am when I walk in the door. They really pay attention! I will continue to board her there whenever we go out of town and can't bring her along. It is worth every penny of the $39/night. I'd love to have her in daycare with them, but its a little pricy to keep up on a consistent basis. Maybe if they offered a monthly package at a discount? Just a thought :) read more

Went in today to check out boarding my two dogs in a suite while I am out of town. The receptionist was clearly on a personal call, and failed to even make eye contact or acknowledge my presence. I waited awhile and finally asked when she thought she could help me. She ignored me, but finally hung up when a couple came in to board. I waited for them to finish and then waited for another lady to pay her bill. When I finally went to the desk, I said: " You know, you are the public face of this business. You need to a least acknowledge a client's presence when they take the trouble to come in." She said: I was busy with an emergency (a lie: I have heard my vet's ofc. on the phone with emergencies. They ask questions.) And then she proceeded to tell me that if I didn't like it I would not be a client. Unbelievable! I wonder how much money she has cost this business. She would not give me her name and threatened to call the cops when I took her picture. If I were the owner, she would be fired today. I went by my vet's ofc. to pick one of my dogs later this am. They are super nice, and helped me find a place to board my dogs. read more

UPDATE (see review below) - not ONE person has ever reached out to us to try and make the situations stated below right. We brought our dog to daycare for MONTHS everyday. She even had surgery at the facility and no one person ever called to check on her or make sure she was okay after that. The owners have yet to contact us back regarding serious safety issues for the animals we were also made aware of at the time we left. We still had several hundred dollars prepaid on our accounts.... So my advice is there are way too many doggie daycares doing a MUCH better job to even consider wasting your time. read more

I hesistantly boarded my beloved yappy Maltie Shug for the very first time this past weekend. She is a bit of a barky alpha female, and I wasn't sure how she would do. I have been taking my dog, Elliot, to Paws at Play in Wake Forest for many years, even though I live far south of that location, and have a doggy day care within a mile from my house! When I found out that they opened a place in Brier Creek, I was very excited because I travel a lot and usually need to drop him off and pick him up in conjunction with airport rides. Last week, Elliot was dropped off at the Wake Forest location by my mother-in-law, and they agreed to transfer Elliot to Brier Creek for me (at no charge)! When I got to Brier Creek, I was informed that they didn't have Elliot and that the transfer didn't happen. (Something happened with the person who was supposed to do the transfer.) So, obviously I was a little disappointed after a 10-day vacation to not see my pup. While this could have been a negative situation, it ended up being a completely positive experience. Zack (I hope that was his name) left the building before I did to go get Elliot from the Wake Forest location. He brought him directly to my house and the company more than took care of the "inconvenience." Mistakes happen -- but I was SOOOO impressed by how well everyone handled this issue and will take Elliot back many more times. Elliot loves the people, and always comes home exhausted. I love that even though Elliot only goes there a couple of times a year, the employees always seem to remember him and make my experience very personal. We love Paws at Play! We use them for boarding occasionally, and a half day of daycare on the days of his grooming. The staff is very attentive, and he comes home the good kind of tired. We've decided that we need to take him on Fridays more often. That way he's nice and sleepy on Saturday morning - so we can sleep in! He can be a little stinker when he's being groomed, and they've done a great job managing it - he comes home looking great. We appreciate that they get both indoor and outdoor playtime, and that the boarding rooms have glass doors instead of gates. Love the report cards and Facebook pictures too. Seems like Cheyenne/Cheyanne (butchering names) is the only one who knows how to handle customers in a polite fashion and deal with problems accordingly. I was picking up a friends dog and she checked everything out and it went very smoothly considering the high volume of people in the lobby. The other front desk staff looked clueless and I'm not sure what their names are but the one with glasses was extremely unprofessional. My friends dogs love it there, but if you can ask for Cheyenne/Cheyanne you will be very pleased. read more
