I'm a big fan of Dog Diggity. They're within walking distance of my office, and so I've been taking my energetic little pit bull Annie there a couple times a week since August; she's never had a bad report. The staff seem capable and nice, and the facilities appear clean and well-kept (which parts of them I can see, anyway). Most importantly, Annie always gets psyched when I ask her if she wants to go to "camp"! That's the surest sign that she's being well cared for. Here's why I had to withhold a star: The hours are... weird. Like, their hours of operation are FINE. They're open until 7pm, which is terrific. You can take your dog to play for a whole day or a half day, and the price for either is perfectly reasonable ($25/$16, respectively). But I can't take Annie for a whole day because there's a two-hour "naptime" in the middle, from noon to 2, during which time all the dogs are kenneled. I get that the staff needs a break to clean up and, I imagine, attend to individual doggie services like baths and grooming. But Annie's not crated at home, and in fact gets incredibly anxious in small spaces; she's a rescue, and all the evidence suggests she was tied up in a yard (she's got a rope-shaped scar that goes all the way around her neck). After that, she was in a shelter for just over a month. She HATES crates. She HATES kennels. I take her to daycare specifically so that she can stretch her legs and socialize. At Suite Paws (also great, check them out--we only don't go anymore because we moved too far away), I was able to drop her off for an entire day and know that she'd be exercised the whole time. So I'm not comfortable paying for a day of daycare just so she can be alone and anxious in a cage for two of those hours. Our solution is that we just do half-days. I live up the road, so I go home at 2, pick her up, drop her off, and collect her on my way home at 7. Problem solved. But most people won't have that luxury. Beyond that: great folks, fair price, nice facilities, happy dog! read more

My mom recommend this place because our other dog seems to enjoy it and it's close. Against my judgment and the reviews, I brought my 7 month yorkie in for a nail trimming and ended up opting for a bath because the pricing online said it would be less combined. They operate on a walk in basis but I was told to come back at 2:30p after I arrived at 1. Luke Luther I can't remember his name was nice before the appointment but seemed overwhelmed and a little passive near the end. This is my puppies first time someone else giving her a bath so of course she will be anxious. He said he was asked to come to the back to assist with Beau (my baby) bc she was squirmy. The young lady brought her out 5 minutes later only towel dried and said basically that was the best she could do. They said they only use towels and a blow dryer. Why not invest in an option where some dogs might find that too much? I blow dry her all the time. He said she may just be comfortable with you. Of course she is. I asked if I would be receiving a discount for a half wet dog bc now I have to dry her before finishing my day. He said no. So, I asked can they please try and get her a little more dry than she is. He muttered under his breath several remarks like "I guess" "We don't like to do that bc it stresses them out" and when he exited the room to bring her back says to Beau " I'm sorry I didn't want to do that to you". I waited 6 MONTHS to bring her to someone until she was comfortable getting baths/blow dried with me. Not sure what goes on when they're "bathing" them bc there are no windows like in the front where you can actually see the groomer. Why not offer the owner to come back with the pet to see if that helps? And not have another dog in the same room barking their head off at her? He basically rushed me saying she's really is pretty, have a good day in a disgusting tone forgetting I hadn't paid. Realizing that, this man told me it would be $25 and that I only had to pay for the bath and they weren't charging for her nails. He then proceeded to gaslight light me on the pricing when I tried to understand how I wasn't charged for everything. I read their website multiple times before deciding to bring my puppy in. READ PICTURE. My yorkie is 4.4lbs. I wanted to double check I read correctly so I asked him "I thought smaller dogs/breeds were cheaper than that even with just a bath" he said like 3-4 different things than what it said on the website. "Breeds don't count...the weight doesn't matter...the pricing on the website is wrong..." I said no, the website says dogs less than 10lbs is $15 and if you add nail grinding it's $10. He says, well I guess you payed the regular price then. I said yeah... Honestly, this is why I'm so hesitant to let these businesses watch over my Beau bc the way I was treated and the passive aggressive tone is enough for me to not give you another dime. The price wasn't awful and that's why I gave them a shot and this review may hurt my chances of emergency boarding at some point but oh well. Front desk/communication is absolutely bottom of the barrel horrendous. I've been noticing this more over the past year but will NOT BE BACK after today. I went to drop off my dog this morning for a bath and was told they were full and that I was "misinformed" from when I called the night before to make a reservation. The front desk also told me this wasn't "their problem" and when I repeated that sentence the person at the front desk said "WHATEVER" to me. This business has someone at their front desk treating customers like this? Luckily for dog owners that want to take their dogs to respectful/safe places there's Dogtopia. I wanted to make sure I included how "beyond 5 star" Dogtopia is in this review compared to the disrespect, rudeness and incompetency I've experienced at Dog Diggity. I will NEVER be back. read more

after reading all of the reviews, some things make sense to me now. I didn't know that this facility had STRICT no humping policy. I dropped my dog off in the morning and got a call A few hours later, saying that he had failed the temperament test because of this. The immediate inside of the building is cute, but I feel like it might be different in the back where all the dogs are kept. The staff up front were pretty nice, although a bit unorganized when I arrived in the morning. I don't think they even reviewed any of my paperwork that I had sent in. When I got home, my dog was EXTREMELY thirsty, and drank for a minute straight, which I found very unnerving.... that's enough reason for a 1 star from me. Apparently, there is a lack of communication between the staff in this place. I was quoted one price and after the grooming received way over what was quoted to me. Although , my dog haven't been here in a good while and I believe prices do go up due to inflation, I was truly shocked with that price . Not only that but, grooming took way too long although, I did get a call stating she would be a little late. I repeat what so many other reviews below say. Dog has been in daycares and boarding many times and has never received anything but A+ report cards. Today, without ever notifying me, I was told he was crated for mounting behavior. Never mounts anyone. Front desk says they are a high volume facility and suggested that customers are told their dogs are aggressive and crated often, and are surprised and rather suggested we never bring him back for his sake. Place is run down, grass not even cut. First and last time we ever will Board our baby at Dog Diggity. Why didn't they notify us? Why are there review after review that say the same thing? I'd strongly advise anyone to avoid this place for boarding any dog. We left our mini Schnauzer here for 12 days because we were going overseas. When we picked her up one of her eyes was so full of matted dirt and mucus she couldn't even see out of it. Who knows how long they left her like this. I completely expect my dog to be smelly and dirty after boarding, I always plan a bath when we get home. I completely understand that baths at this facility cost extra because they take significant time from the staff. What is completely unacceptable is that no one on the staff could spare 30 seconds to wipe her eye with a wet paper towel and spare her that abuse. Never again. Next time I will choose a place with cameras or that takes pictures so I have some sort of oversight to my dog's treatment. -------------------- My second complaint would be that in a boarding situation they will not give a toy to your dog because it is a "choking hazard". This is completely non-nonsensical, how could your dog suddenly choke on a hard nylon toy she's had her entire life? I suspect the real reason is that the policy is in place to reduce the amount of effort on Dog Diggity's part in terms of picking up or keeping track of the toys. For any dog that may not be exceptionally social to be in the cage for days with no stimulus is unethical. read more

I want to preface that I used to use dog diggity without hesitance. I myself have worked at a kennel for years before. My dogs went regularly. Now that I am a vet tech they come to work with me and go to daycare there. As we do not do daycare on weekends I boarded my kiddos over the weekend. We have always gotten great reports from the staff before. This time we were told my Labrador constantly mounted and my Shepard mix was "aggressive" many times. This was shocking to me as I have never witnessed my Labrador mount or that my Shepard attacked anyone or anything. The gentlemen even made it a point to stress that "had to physically run to grab her". I asked for specific examples of this aggression and asked how many attendants were in the room. It was followed with "we run a high volume facility so there are many dogs in the play areas". No real answers. Also he used the word "isolated" often when telling me he had to separate my dogs. He then went on to suggest maybe we should not bring our dogs back. I asked why wasn't I notified sooner, why did it go so far? So I was blind sided at pick up and given a handful of apologies about how they felt bad giving "such good dogs bad news". I found it off putting that you would apparently risk the safety of other dogs, again... I say apparently, so you could take my money at pick up. After speaking with a client who is a regular even she has mentioned how the staff is always changing and for the worse. I took my dogs to a different day care facility the very next day and after review by their staff (who gave me I do on their extensive training in behavior) and an entire day of play, there were no problems for them. I genuinely question the training, competency and integrity of the staff and establishment. As a professional in animal behavior and medicine, I would advise against dog diggity. read more

I dropped off my 12 yr old blue tick hound for a temperament test. When I dropped him off the staff didn't ask a single question. I stopped them to tell them that my hound is blind in one eye and has a bit of a limp from an old injury, but the vet has cleared him health wise. They suggested he be put in with the small dogs and I told them not to because he enjoys being around large dogs and if he gets tired he usually goes to a corner and lays down and watches everyone play. I know this because our previous daycare had webcams. I was a little uncomfortable when I left seeing as the staff didn't seem to want to get to know my hound but just carted him off behind the door. When I came to pick up my dog later that afternoon the gentleman behind the desk gave him rave reviews saying he passed with flying colors and was a daycare champ, which I already knew because I told him he's a very docile dog. This is where things get weird. The staff then tells me he had to be kennelled because a growth on his leg "popped" and was bleeding all over. First he does have skin tags but they don't pop, a dog must have been playing too rough with him and scratched it open. Second why didn't I receive a phone call letting me know he was being secluded and was bleeding. I could have picked him up earlier to save him the stress! The point of picking this daycare was because they have free play all day not so my pup would be locked away. Then it gets even better as the gentlemen goes into the back to retrieve my hound he comes out and my pup is acting very strange, not excited to see me, and just walking slow and cautiously (not his normal demeanor at all). The gentleman then states that he doesn't recommend our dog come to this daycare as it may be too energetic for him. Isn't that the purpose of the temperament test?!? To determine whether or not dogs are well behaved enough to attend daycare?! So if other dogs are being aggressive and bothering my dog who is minding his own business, shouldn't their dogs be removed instead of my low key dog being told to go elsewhere?! No need to tell me twice. I'm cancelling my reservation and taking him back to where we usually board him even though it's 35 minutes away. Ever since we got home my poor pup has been curled up in a ball in the closet sleeping which he only does when extremely stressed out(like during thunderstorms). My dog gives me the assurance I need that this place is fabulous. She never hesitates when being dropped off. Trust me - I've seen her hesitate at other places! And that is a scary feeling. But at Dog Diggity she literally doesn't even stop her trot from front door to being whisked away to dog heaven. Scheduling and drop off/pick up is a breeze. We rarely have to board our dog but I did for a daycare day so I could use some heavy (loud/scary to my dog) equipment at our house. Our dog had had a bad experience back in May at a dog park so has been a little more hesitant around other dogs since but had a great time! She is a high energy (and also anxious) Aussie who loves to play. We can usually tell if she has had a bad day by her anxiety level and she seemed happy and content when I picked her up. When we pick her up from daycare she is wiped out from playing so hard with the other dogs that she normally falls asleep within minutes of coming through the door. The employees along with the ownership are the friendliest people you have ever come across, not to mention when your dog bolts in the door and tail wagging 100 mph an hour you know its a good place. Also if you have a young dog, this is a great place for him/her to become socialized. Not to mention when you pick him/her up after work you will enjoy peace and quite, they will be taking a long long nap as they are exhausted from the day. Grooming: I have short hair dogs, so they just get bath, nail clippings basic maintenance. But they do a wonderful job at cleaning them. Much better than any other place I have brought him before. I couldn't say enough good things about Dog Diggity. Our two dogs have been coming to Dog Diggity for ~4 years. The staff (even ones I rarely see) all know our dogs and what makes them unique! Everyone who works there is very friendly and accommodating. We've mainly boarded our dogs - it is hands down the best deal for daycare+boarding. Even over busy holidays, we are always able to get a kennel (though we try to call early because they do book up!). They've never charged extra for medication administration, petting or attention, or require silly things (like bagging each meal separately) like some of the boarding places in the area. Occasionally, we'll bring our dogs in for daycare - the dogs are always excited to go, and we pick them up tired and happy. Dog Diggity sells daycare passes and offer reduced rates for additional dogs, so daycare is definitely a reasonable option to get some exercise for our high energy dogs when we both have long days at work planned! We dropped them off yesterday for a full day (7a-6:30p) and both dogs are napping contently as I type. We've also used their grooming services (baths and nail trims) with no complaints! I've taken my dogs here several times now and I could not be happier. The staff are so kind and helpful, and the bathers and groomers do a fantastic job with my dogs. I have one dog that hates to be groomed but still they are able to keep her calm and do I great job on her. The prices are very reasonable and competitive. Unfortunately we had a bad first impression of Dog Diggity that made it clear to us that this is not a company we trust and want to work with. We were planning to use Dog Diggity's boarding services while were traveling. What drew me to this service over all of the others was how flexible they sounded on their website, saying that they "do not charge extra for love, attention, petting, special diets, medication, play time, and socialization." We decided to try it out and get their required temperament test for our golden doodle. At around 7 am, we get to the facility which looks like a large warehouse and find out there are 160 dogs there that day alone! Upon dropping our dog off, the staff sat down with us and had us sign and initial several waiver forms and then we headed off to work. Five hours later, around noon, we get a call saying that one of the boxes on one of the forms had been missed in their review of the forms and that it needed to be signed before they could test our dog. We called back and told them, "No problem, it wasn't intentional. We can certainly sign it when we go to pick her up." But they said we'd have to wait until after their manager Mike gets back from lunch to see if that's okay. Over an hour later, at 2:30 pm, I get a call from the manager Mike. He refused to be flexible and help come up with a solution. He told me that, because of this oversight, our dog has been locked all day in a kennel, off away from any of the other dogs and staff. My husband then had to leave work early to go pick her up. Had we known earlier, our pup wouldn't have had to spend 9+ hrs. in isolation unnecessarily. Believe me, I understand we live in a litigious society, but when you're working with customers, not everything is black and white. Sometimes you have use some common sense and treat people and animals with a little respect and trust. Sometimes you have to approach problems creatively and open-mindedly, especially when you take part in causing the problem in the first place. Ironically, the line that was missed happened to waive our right to "initiate any legal proceedings of any sort against Dog Diggity as a result of illness, injury, damage or death to owner's dog while staying at Dog Doggity." In hindsight, maybe it was fate caused that line being missed because it helped me realize that I'm not sure I do trust my dog's safety and life under the care of the Dog Diggity. Luckily we've found that there are many other excellent doggie daycare and boarding companies in this area that we do trust and who treat their customers and their customers' pets with kindness and consideration. We won't be using Dog Diggity services again. read more

I'm pretty disappointed with Dog Diggity but have been putting off writing this review for a while. We have boarded our dog many times over the years at various doggie daycares and have been really happy with the experiences. The only time we've changed daycares has been because of moves where the location has no longer been feasible/convenient. When we moved to this side of town, I was excited to start using Dog Diggity based on all of the good reviews. The first time we boarded our dog, everything was fine... no issues. After that, things started to go downhill. We brought our dog in while we were out of town for a few days and when we came back, we were told he had some 'behavioral issues'. That's weird... he's never had any before. We got a 'warning.' The next time we left him while we were out of town, we returned and were scolded by the front desk. The staff told us that he continued to display these issues and would not be welcome back if he kept it up. Well, what does this mean? Should we bother coming back? Why has he never displayed this issue anywhere else before? He is around plenty of other dogs constantly in play environments and it hasn't been a problem. They couldn't give us a clear answer as to him being 'banned' but that we could bring him in and if it was an issue that they would call us and he'd have to leave. Well, that doesn't really work if you're boarding a dog because you're out of town or have an emergency. What else can we do? 'Oh here's a card for a behavioralist, and you need to stop him if you see him doing it'. Well that's the problem, we had NEVER seen him display this behavior before! Then the kicker, this high-strung women came in with her dogs while we were being scolded. Our dog came out from being boarded and was ridiculously excited to see us. She made a comment that 'oh he seems really stressed out'. Really? Because he hasn't seen us in a week and he's happy to get the heck out of this place? After that, I started researching the issues they claimed he had because of dominance and it turns out that 99% of the studies I found said it wasn't from dominance but from anxiety from a situation. Well, that made me question why we never saw this behavior previously... maybe our dog is trying to tell us to get him away from this place. At this point, Dog Diggity would be a last minute option for us, but I'd rather drive to Cary for a place that respects us and our canine. read more

Recently moved to the area and was extremely excited about this daycare due to its convenient location. My dog passed the four hour temperament test with no issues. I then dropped him off a few days later and he was reported to have "behavioral issues." My dog has been in daycare since he turned four months old and has never had issues. They then reported that my dog attempted to bite an employee!?!? What???? I was dumbfounded. He has never shown aggression towards a human EVER, EVER, EVER. In addition, instead of calling me after this "incident" to pick him up, they kept him crated the remainder of the day so that they could charge me the price of a full day of daycare. I'm not sure what is going on behind closed doors of this daycare but if it is enough to stress out my extremely social dog, I don't think I want to know. We used Dog Diggity several times for boarding and daycare for an older lab and a younger rambunctious lab.  Our older dog never had any trouble and if your dog is older or calm, Dog Diggity is probably fine.  However, we have quit going to Dog Diggity after an incident with our younger dog. I arrived to pick him up and was told that our younger lab had a bad day and if his behavior continued, he would not be welcome back.  We had heard nothing negative from Dog Diggity before.  They went on to say that the during the nail trim we had requested that day, they had muzzled the younger dog to cut his nails because he was snapping at the staff.  He has had his nails trimmed countless times without issue.  I felt as if they clipped the nails to make the money, not taking in to account the actions of the dog.  I would have much rather they not cut the nails and explained why than muzzled him to get it done. I tried to give Dog Diggity another chance after this, but I worried the entire time we were out of town. read more

Very unprofessional way of handling dogs that are "too hyper" as they said to me. I have had two dogs that are unwelcome there because they ran around too much and got the other dogs too excited. They wrote an incident up almost every time and then on the third time said he was unwelcome after I had already gotten approved to board him in just a few days for a work trip. I had had two other friends that have had very similar experiences because their dogs wanted to play too much. Not sure what else dogs are supposed to do when they're around playmates... read more

Initially I was really happy going to Dog Diggity. I have a 10 month old standard golden doodle that is full of energy and this was a good outlet for him while I was at work. I liked that he could play from 7-12 and 2-7 and was only crated for 2 hours of the day. No one ever mentioned any issues and my mother even asked multiple times at pick up if he behaved and we were always told he did. My only complaint early on was multiple times I picked him up covered in mud and no one ever bothered to rinse his feet. Randomly one day I picked him up after 11 hours there, and could tell he wasn't tired like usual and the manger told me in a snarky way that he was in time out because he was too energetic and "never stops." I could tell he had been crated quite a bit that day. I never got a phone call, as I could have had someone pick him up. I never was told there was any issue before. He then threatened that I shouldn't be surprised if he gets in a "scuffle" at some point. I called back that night and was given a refund and we won't be back. The manager was unprofessional and acted like it was inconvenient to watch my dog because of his energy. It's unfortunate because I do think my dog really enjoyed going there but we will try another daycare. read more

My puppy loves Dog Diggity! For the last few months, my mini Dachshund puppy has gone here semi-regularly for day care and once for boarding, and she's always so excited to go in in the morning (and tired when she gets back!). She's only 7 pounds but VERY outgoing, so it was important for us to find a daycare where she could play with a variety of dogs but still had enough supervision to ensure she didn't get hurt, and Dog Diggity is perfect. In addition, the staff is really nice, you get fun report cards periodically, and I'm addicted to checking for Slinky in the daily Facebook photos! read more

Really disappointed by this place. Dog Diggity came highly recommended and we left our beloved fur baby here for a weekend boarding stay a few months back and had a terrible experience. We tried to e-mail during the weekend to see how she was doing-something they encourage-and never heard back. When we picked up our baby on Sunday we were told that she had been "a little mean" the last day. When we asked for specifics they said she was "bothering other dogs" when she tried to play with them...what?? When we got our girl home she was acting like she didn't feel well and was having accidents in the house-which never happens. We took her to the Vet and sure enough she had a terrible UTI-I guess Dog Diggity couldn't be bothered to take her out enough. We were furious, we won't be using their services ever again! It sounds like people have good experiences with the daycare, but I think their boarding needs some serious work. read more

Moved to Raleigh about two years ago and have finally found the dog boarding place for me with Dog Diggity! I have a pitbull who is very friendly but incredibly hyper upon first meeting people and dogs. Other places will give a 10-15 min "test" to see if she's a good candidate but she always failed because they kept her on a leash and would introduce her to one dog in a small room. Dog Diggity has a 4 hour temperament testing period. It really enables them to see how your dog is and let them adjust to a new place. The staff is incredibly friendly. They gave me a tour and the facility was clean and well laid out. Only downfall is it's a half hour drive so I can't get her there as often as she'd like. They also give these little report cards out after daycare and they're really cute and give great insight as to how their day went. read more

We recently moved to Raleigh and had been totally spoiled with our old daycare, so I chose very carefully when it came to daycare in our new home. (Seriously, I toured three daycares before I made a decision.) We are thrilled with Dog Diggity! The facilities are great-- I'm willing to drive a good 25 minutes just to drop him off once a week-- but it's the staff that really makes this place perfect for our pup. They're young and enthusiastic and always happy to see my buddy. I know he has a great time at Dog Diggity, and yes, he's always exhausted when he comes home! We also boarded him when we went away for a long weekend, and I know he was in excellent hands. I can also speak to grooming somewhat, as they've bathed my pup twice and done a great job getting his coat clean, shiny, and soft. He hasn't needed a nail trim yet, but when the time comes, I know they'll do a great job. The only thing keeping me from giving Dog Diggity a 5-star review is the lack of daily photos or a webcam. Like I said, I was totally spoiled with our old daycare-- I miss its daily Facebook albums! I would love to see how my dog is doing during the day and who he's playing with. But besides that, we're big fans-- thanks, Dog Diggity Daycare! read more

First and foremost, I just want to say that I do not work for the company and I do not have any affiliations with it at all. Everything I'm about to say is coming from the heart. No words can describe how wonderful the staff and service is at Dog Diggity Dare Care. The staff is always beyond nice and friendly with my dog Lucy. Lucy is very high strung and so hyper, which made me worried that they wouldn't take her. I was wrong, they love having her there. When I drive her into the parking lot, she immediately knows where she is and she is ready to play. Then, when I pick her up from daycare, she doesn't want to leave. Furthermore, when I bring her home she is exhausted and sleeps like a rock. There prices are great and the facility is even better. If you are looking for a place to bring your dog, Dog Diggity is the place. If you are "on the fence" about looking for a place to bring your dog, go with Dog Diggity. I live over a half hour away, but it is of no concern to me and I am happy to make the drive. If you are still unsure about whether or not to bring your dog here, listen to this. My wife and I were expecting our first child in mid April. It turns out that he came two weeks early and we had to have my in-laws drop Lucy off while we were in the hospital. Despite the fact it was last minute, they were still happy to board her for a week. And, to make things even BETTER, they picked up the tab and her stay was on the house. I was in shock when the girl behind the counter told me. I wanted to pick her up and hug her, but I thought that would have been kinda creepy. In any case, thank you so much to everyone at Dog Diggity for always being awesome and taking such good care of my nutjob dog!!!! There is nothing better than watching my dog sleep, barely able to lift his head, after a day at dog diggity. He loves to "go see his friends" and we know he is safe while he plays and stays. Our bulldogs (gunner, nixon)must have had a great time over the thanksgiving weekend, picked them up this morning and they have been sleeping since then! They smelled clean, and all their food was eaten up!! They have redone the waiting area, modern,really cute! read more

My dog had been going here for a year now and I'd never had anything bad to say about them he always came back really happy. I was told last night he's not allowed back because he's aggressive and had issues in the past (again I was unaware of that). I had never been called or notified like they said they would do if there was an issue. My dog has never had an issue in any daycare previously nor has he ever been aggressive in the past (and he's been in daycares for years). They're not a bad place but communication seems to be completely lacking. read more

I have been taking my high energy German Shepherd to Dog Diggity for almost six years and I'm not sure who loves this place more, me or my dog. The owners and staff are friendly, which isn't the case in other dog daycares we've used. We love it here. Our dog is recognized by the staff, she gets lot of exercise and they don't nickel and dime you. The dog gets playtime with the other dogs, outside time, and they will give medicine if necessary without charging extra over the daily boarding rate. We also take her here to get her nails ground. We have been using Dod Diggity for the past year since we moved here and we have loved them! We have taken our dogs here for day care many times, especially when we were moving into our house, and several overnight stays. They have accommodated us last minute when an emergency came up and also for an extended stay when we went out of town which included a holiday weekend. The staff here are always friendly and most of them know our dogs by name now when we walk in. read more
