Peanut butter mocha & breakfast bagel
Sharon S.

I've been to a pause at other locations and have had wonderful experiences. I was disappointed in my experience here , unfortunately. Upon ordering the peanut butter mocha , one iced and one hot, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches we promptly took a seat to wait for our order. When our drinks were called out I picked them up and upon seeing them & tasting them could tell that there was no chocolate in them. I retired to the bar and tried to speak to the barista and she looked at me and looked away completely ignoring me as I tried to talk to her and scoffed a bit. I felt a bit awkward standing there .... When the person at the register with whom we had ordered saw this and came over. I explained to them that the drink didn't taste right ... that we had ordered a peanut butter mocha. He looked a bit confused and then said that he thought we had gotten a peanut butter latte... this was a bit confusing as the seasonal drink on the menu that we pointed at was the peanut butter mocha. He did offer to remake them and we took him up on that. The drinks were much better the second time around! The awkwardness with the barista left me feeling uncomfortable.... However i truly appreciated them remaking the drinks and finding a quick solution.

Pumpkin Spice Latte & Almond Croissant

This was our first time at this Pause location. Parking is pretty tight but we lucked out with front row parking! The girls working were welcoming and helped by answering a couple questions we had about the menu. We decided on the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Banana Foam Matcha and Strawberry Lemonade. We also ordered an Almond Croissant to share. My PSL was the perfect balance of coffee and pumpkin spice. The Banana Matcha was yummy! My little loved her Strawberry Lemonade (she said it wasn't too sour). And the croissant was lovely! We're already taking about what we want to try next visit!

iced dirty chai

stopped in to get a dirty chai on the way to our destination so made a quick stop here and omg they have the best dirty chai i've had! the ambience is really nice if you're they're to study or do a few work emails. the bartender was friendly! i didn't ask her name but blonde a with cute tattoos made my visit! there was a couple in front of me before i out in my order and another cashier with brunette hair said "coming in as we're closing is crazy" which made me feel bad immediately :( but the bartender who helped me quickly shifted my experience with kindness and for that, i thank her :) i asked for a hot dirty chai and she made an iced one by accident but that's okay because she let me keep it and made a hot one in addition so now my husband and i have a quick pick-me-up!

Great matcha: smooth, bitter enough but enjoyable, and vibrant. Service was okay, but ambiance was spectacular.

Strawberry matcha

Strawberry matcha was pretty good and the service was fast. It was a tad expensive for a small matcha but overall did enjoy the drink. If I was in the area again, I'd probably come back.

Strawberry matcha and banana dream matcha

I got an iced the banana dream matcha and my friend got the strawberry matcha. Both drinks were really good! I really enjoyed my banana one! Once we order we got our drinks pretty quick which was nice. I will say in regard to pricing it was a little on the expensive side. But overall it was a nice ambiance and drinks were good!

Chicken caesar salad wrap and my favorite iced butterscotch oatmilk latte
Taylor N.

Overall, this is probably my favorite coffee shop in Rocklin. I always order an iced butterscotch oatmilk latte and I add cinnamon. The lattes are always amazing and I also love their chicken caesar wrap. (I find they don't normally put enough ice so I usually ask for extra.) The downsides to this place though are occasionally the attentiveness of the staff, as I've come in a few times and waited awhile before being acknowledged by a staff member. They aren't normally all that cheerful or friendly, but I take that with a grain of salt. They also don't always call out your order when your drink is ready, even when you're standing in front of the pickup counter, so be mindful of that. The coffees are a bit pricey, as I pay $7.75 for the larger size, but overall, this never stops me from coming back. I hope Pause stays around for a long time!

12 & 16 oz iced butterscotch latte with oatmilk (left) & regular milk (right)

I got the iced butterscotch latte and while it doesn't taste exactly like butterscotch, it's quite a delicious iced coffee. However, as seen in the picture, the second butterscotch latte I got for my friend was a different, light color and did not taste as good. The baristas were very nice and lovely. The interior is very spacious with lots of seating. This would be a wonderful place to study or have a coffee date with some friends.

Great stop for coffee.

Went to this little coffee shop with no anticipation of what it would be like. Very nice setting atmosphere is wonderful. Good temperature regulation. Excellent area to sit outside clean neat. Staff are very friendly. I had a honey lavender latte and it was excellent. highly recommended. Plan on spending 6.00 to $6.50 depending on what you buy so it is a reasonable price!

Vanilla rose latte (almond milk), vanilla iced latte (whole milk)
Jessica D.

We stopped by while running errands on a whim and it turned out to be a fantastic decision...one of the best iced lattes I've had! Their iced vanilla latte with whole milk? SO GOOD. The right milk-forward and sweet balance that I like. The vanilla rose latte with almond milk was my boyfriend's favorite- it was good, but I found the iced one to be smoother. Would definitely come back.

vanilla latte with oat milk and the vanilla bourbon cardamom latte

Great coffee, my husband and I tried the vanilla latte with oat milk and the vanilla bourbon cardamom latte. Both were really good.

Delicious Honey Oat Milk Latte!!!

I like how simple their menu is and how they have signature drinks. They even have items for kids too and they call that part Little Beans. I mean, how cute is this?! They do have an app. I just wish they had more locations near me so I can download, use and support this business. Our human beanista learned that it was my first time and multiple people recommended I try the green tea smoothie and a bean because they are so good. Of course I ordered this and oh my, how sweet was the service because she gave us a few beans to sample which I really appreciated. I saw on a menu that you can also order these chocolate covered espresso beans for yourself or a gift. They also have gift cards, coffee by the pound and to go boxes. I look forward to coming back here again to get more beans and drink treats. Thank you The Human Bean for being so awesome!

I had already looked over the menu and knew I wanted to try the Pork Belly Sisig. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. I placed my order and added a spontaneous milk tea with boba, 'cause why not live a little. Food and drink came out quickly. The pork belly sisig was great, and consisted of shredded browned pork belly with a side of pickled veggies over a bed of rice, with a fried egg and two pieces of lumpia, garnished with a touch of diced white onion. Very tasty. I ordered the Jasmine Tea boba. Pro-tip: you can ask for less sweet on the teas. He customized my milk tea at 50% sweetness. I look forward to coming back to try the pork adobo, order more lumpia and try the spam musubi. It's been awhile since I've had good Filipino food! I grew up in a very culturally diverse area and missed these dishes, so I'm stoked to have this available right down the street from my work.
