I'm not proud to say how much coffee I consume in a week but needless to say, I'm always on a search for consistent, well balanced lattes and a buttery pastry is a plus. As a way to explore other options I try to open my mind to new places and more often than not I'm underwhelmed. Pause on the other hand hits all of the caffeine essentials. The syrups are not overpowering so you can really savor the flavor of the coffee. I felt so uncomfortable in here, so much so that this is the first yelp review I've ever made. The staff were incredibly rude and made me feel like an inconvenience for just walking in. I was met with hostility before I even spoke. I would completely understand this if they were slammed and stressed out by everything, but I was the only person in line and (to me) it looked like they weren't working on any drinks/pressing tasks. I've worked in customer service for years and always try to take the employees behavior with a grain of salt anywhere I go because I know it's not easy work to be dealing with the public, but this was unbelievable. I love the ambiance of this location. The drinks are hit or miss. Sometimes the espresso coffee tastes horribly sour. Undrinkable sour. Other times it's excellent. Which is a drag. The customer service is subpar. Some of the female employees lack any there of and look at you like they that hate your presence, hate working there, and don't want to be making your order no matter when and what it is. It's too bad because it's a great atmosphere and building but the coffee is so hit or miss and so is the customer service behind the counter. read more

First impressions were that it was spacious (lots of seating), clean, and chill. Granted, this was a Sunday afternoon, when there shouldn't be a big rush, but still. The shop was staffed with four employees (from what I could see), so having that many people there, even during slow times, is awesome. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered a cold brew for myself, and some strawberry lemonades for the kids. The cold brew had strong floral notes and needed some sugar to mellow it out. Pause has become my go-to recommendation amongst those who are looking for a coffee shop to catch up at. It is spacious and clean with lots of natural light pouring in. The service is always friendly (hat tip to Nathaniel and crew), the coffee is excellent, and the food is divine. They sell pastries from Ettore's and also have a nice selection of savory hot breakfast/brunch items. I am partial to that breakfast bagel which is delicious! Highly recommend. read more

The bagel sandwich was not tasty and the pre made egg that was made in mold just slips out of the sandwich, one small piece of meat. I paid $25 for two sandwiches and they were not worth it at all. Pretty large coffeehouse with a cool vibe and quality drinks. We sat outside because I brought my infant. There were a bunch of tables but they all face the parking lot. The garbage truck made its rounds that morning and it was quite noisy. I ordered a pumpkin cold brew and my sister ordered an iced maple latte. I enjoyed mine but there was a little too much ice, so I would recommend specifying light ice when ordering. My sister didn't think there was enough or a maple flavor in her latte, even after bringing the drink back to get more maple added. They have a small selection of pastries so I would recommend getting there early before they run out. I had an almond croissant which was on the small side and was pretty flat for a croissant. The set up works great in here, they have large desks to work on as a group or for space and individual desks if you working solo. Enough outlets to charge your phones and a restroom is available. Good- not great. My order was: 12 oz oatmeal maple latte, 16oz oatmeal maple latte and avocado toast. Everything tasted good and the latte art was a nice touch BUT we didn't taste the maple in our lattes, and the avocado toast was soggy and for the price should be a little better. I don't like sundried tomato's so I asked for none. But cherry tomato's would be a better option. I was also bothered I wasn't asked if I wanted "for here or to go?". The gal who rang me up turned away from me so quick and already had to go cups in her hands and the line was building up behind me I didn't say anything. But I was bummed the rest of my stay. Last time I got a extra shot vanilla latte and I tasted milk more than anything. The coffee making bar area was really dirty and not kept well. - The inside is always crowded and has akward seating, pretty noisey. Tried sitting outside and all the tables and chairs were really cheap and dusty/dirty on top. I honestly just got up and left. Lots of potential here, needs better management. The atmosphere is great, however, the breakfast I ordered was mediocre at best. I was given a buzzer and was informed that it would go off when my food was ready which it did not, and they did not call out my food order. I was only 1/3 guest in here at the time, so I felt the buzzer was unnecessary and it proved to be so. I ordered the savory crepe, and to say it was lacking umami is an understatement. The avocado I requested to be added on was overpowering, the prosciutto overcooked, and the egg was overdone. The lavender latte, which I got with oat instead of whole milk, was underwhelming. Luck did fuel me with just enough caffeine to get up and out of there. I don't want to write the coffee shop off just yet, as I'm a firm believer in second chances. Dried tomatoes and pieces of arugula.. no salt/pepper or any other flavors... just sour Bagel sandwich wasn't great for $11. Really dense bread. We would give somewhere else a try next time. I got the honey lavender latte with almond milk and asked for it less sweet. They serve award winning coffee(look up Onyx Coffee Labs). Only thing that bums be out is they don't serve hot drinks in a ceramic coffee cup after 4pm, so if you forget to bring your own mug you're drinking amazing coffee that has slight taste of paper and has micro plastic in it from the inside lining of the paper cup. read more
