As many of you know, I love visiting the small hole-in-the-wall coffee shops. And "New Brew Cafe" in Rocklin is no exception. Located directly on Rocklin Rd. and just west of I-80, this tiny coffee shop has been opened for business since October 2024. Since I was passing through this area, I decided to pay a visit during the morning of Friday 8/22/2025 at around 10:50am. I will say that the exterior is absolutely amazing as a ton of work went into making everything come to life. The white colored stone work complete with a variety of seating options really looks wonderful. Additionally, there is a little hidden rear seating area complete with an umbrella and enough seating for five. The inside is very small, quaint and cozy though with seating for around 3-4 guests. The menu offers a huge variety of coffee/espresso classics as well as juices, teas, and seasonal options depending on what time of year it is. Their food options consist of pastries (muffins, Danishes, croissants, etc.) as well as bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and English muffins. Since I was in the mood for food & drinks, I decided to go with one of their "Iced Horchata Lattes" and a "Bagel, Egg, & Cheese Bagel" with Everything seasoning on it. Total price came to around $17; quite pricey for just a quick simple breakfast. Since there was only one person working there (as well as other customers ordering + DoorDash orders coming in), it took around 10 minutes to receive both the bagel & latte. I will say that I did not care for the latte at all; and I am not a picky coffee drinker. Sadly, this was so watered down to a point where I could not taste the espresso while the Horchata flavor was almost nonexistent. The bagel though was hearty, delicious, and absolutely hit the spot which is one of the main reasons to give this place an above average rating. All in all, "New Brew Cafe" was a positive (but not great experience). The coziness, decor, ambiance, and aesthetics were spot-on. But the taste of my coffee was such a let down. However, I am still giving this small business an above average four-star rating as the employee worked solo in making sure every customer was being served. Will I be back? Probably not. But definitely give them a try since they have a huge variety. read more

Loved this place when i used to go to the north highlands drive thru location. I gave this place two tries and just was not good. Last time I went I ordered an iced white mocha. The espresso was not freshly pulled. It had been sitting there for who knows how long. The mocha itself tasted very milky. My partners smoothie was not very smooth and lumpy and mostly ice. I was super disappointed. The inside was cute but wish there was more indoor seating. read more

We often pass by this small coffee shop during our evening runs and finally decided to give it a try one morning. Walking in, it was quiet and peaceful, and we were greeted by a friendly-looking lady. However, when we started asking questions about the menu, it felt like she wasn't really in the mood to help us -- which made it a little bit awkward. The menu was hard to read and the options were confusing. That said, take this review with a grain of salt. We didn't try the coffee, just the protein shakes. We ordered one vanilla and one chocolate, both with peanut butter powder added. Unfortunately, they were packed with too much ice and lacked flavor. Honestly, we weren't even sure if any protein powder was actually in there. We'll probably come back another time to try the coffee itself, but the combination of the subpar shakes and the off-putting service left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. read more

I was super excited about all of the summer menu items but in the end just a bit let down at the actual drinks. Service was awesome, the girl working by herself was so sweet. But the drinks just didn't live up to the customer service part so I don't think I would come all the way back from Elk Grove again. The Matchaberry wasn't too bad but the matcha part was just watery and not creamy, and I saw that they do not hand whisk it. The pistachio latte was worse though, no pistachio flavor at all and it was artificial. There is no indoor seating so if the outdoor seats are taken or if it's bad weather, then plan on taking to go. read more

Finally made it in to check out Rocklin's newest coffee shop. The girls were friendly and helpful answering questions about the menu. We ended up ordering some drinks off the Valentines Menu (Pink & White and Madly in Mocha) and an Iced Matcha with Oat Milk. Loved the presentation of the drinks! Super cute! And my youngest loved the sprinkles! My Pink & White wasn't strong enough (partially my fault for not asking how many shots are in the drink) and not as flavorful as I'd like. The youngest loved hers! Next time I'll try something stronger! And we want to try the food! read more

My husband & I stopped and tried this place for the first time today on our bike ride. We shared the Keto Bowl and a medium iced latte. The Keto Bowl was priced as $8.99 on their menu and a medium iced latte was $6.25 (not listed on the menu so I had to confirm w the cashier). My husband paid $21.11, which doesn't add up. He was not given an option to tip using the touch screen either. Again, does not add up. The Keto Bowl had one sausage patty cut up into four pieces, a slice of unmelted cheddar cheese on top of a few scrambled eggs, and a tiny side of salsa and avocado. Before leaving, we went in to ask if we may have been overcharged...there was a different person at the register (might have been the owner) The only response my husband received was "The Keto Bowl is $11.99" and something about the price changing and menu not being updated yet. Overall, the coffee was good & we might get it again. However, the Keto bowl was sad & overpriced and the service was even sadder. I don't understand how this place has any positive reviews. Very cute shop on the side of Rocklin road. I ordered a peppermint mocha which was okay but not great. The flavor wasn't really there. Our breakfast sandwiches came out quick and were wrapped perfectly to-go. We split two, a bacon bagel and a bacon croissant. Again, both solid but not standout. Prompt friendly service! They were super helpful on their go to drinks & favorite food items. We got a campfire cold brew & it was a nice sweet treat coffee! As well as an iced Carmel latte, both were great! Wouldn't change a thing. For food we ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel with cream cheese and avocado, great portion and tasted good! Also ordered the turkey & pesto sandwich + avocado- it was yummy! Maybe I would ask for light pesto for the future. But we will be back! Overall great experience & super cute coffee shop I'd recommend. I love this place! Definitely need them in this area. So helpful for my family that lives close as well as friends of my daughters who go to college close by. It is slightly frustrating when I drive out of the way to go get a coffee and they are closed during hours they say are open. Happens very frequently. Valentine's day coffees are excellent! flavor is great and you can tell it's done with care. Other non specialty coffees are sometimes made with a lot of ice, or a lot of milk. Also pricing is never consistent. Maybe miscommunication with workers? But overall is a wonderful small business i'd love to see thrive. Just wishing for more consistency! My husband and I finally decided to check out this new coffee spot. Location is right off the road, so be careful pulling in and out of the parking lot. Very cute decor inside and outside. Seating is pretty limited so don't expect to come hangout very long. More of a grab and go kind of spot unless they added more seating outside to the left of the building. Service was great as well. However, we were pretty disappointed in the quality of coffee. I got a vanilla latte and my husband a cappuccino. Both were very milky. Couldn't taste the espresso. Maybe we just didn't like the coffee supplier as well? I feel like espresso to milk ratio could very well be improved. Husband's cappuccino was also way too hot, more like my latte, and was served in a 16oz cup which is way too big. Should have been more like an 8oz cup for a true cappuccino. So, I decided to stop in at this new place in Rocklin. I love to try new coffeeshops. First off it was a cute little place. Not much seating and if you did sit inside, it didn't feel very private. But most importantly was they know nothing about making a good espresso drink. The espresso was like dirty, bitter water. No foam on the top. Also, they need to learn how to make a good latte. Which is my go too drink. It was so hot! they burnt the milk. when they were steaming the milk, it was making a very load sound. I think they need trained or a new coffee company. Not even sure who their roaster is. Didn't see a name anywhere. the plus side is they were very nice! read more

This lil spot is Dope better than the North highlands location forsure. I like how one specific girl makes my Drink & avocado toast. Always taste hella good & no complaints I think she's the only barista there which is coo I wouldn't change it up. I came in for a coffee because i thought this place looked nice from the outside and it was a cool place on the inside. Yet, this place doesn't know how to make coffee right. I asked for a drip coffee and they poured in 2 not dialed in espresso shots and water. Thought they would just have a drip machine but just espresso that isnt pulled well into a shot. I hope you guys can lean a little more about the art of coffee and espresso or train your employees better on how to make coffee. They may have good sweet drinks but for people who want good coffee alone, this isn't the place. read more

"manager" or "owner" does not even know her own menu and is totally cool with making a customer pay for their false advertising mistake. selling $10 coffees that are mostly ice and foam, but the place wreaks of fried fat and feels like an oven. ambiance could be compared to something like a sweatshop. been to this location a few times throughout the past year or so and it's so uncomfortably hot in this walk in closet of a coffee shop on every visit, I could not imagine being the staff. overall, i would not recommend this place to anyone read more

I really wanted to love this place. A new local coffee shop in Rocklin? Yes, please! With Starbucks on every corner, I was excited to try something different. I keep my coffee order pretty simple--an iced honey latte with regular milk. I also decided to splurge on their flavored cold foam to see what the hype was about. What could go wrong? Well... a lot, apparently. First, my medium (20 oz) cup was 90% ice. I'm not exaggerating--I might have gotten 8 ounces of actual coffee if I was lucky. Then, the honey. Instead of being dissolved into the espresso, it was just drizzled around the cup, where it solidified into a sticky mess and didn't sweeten the drink at all. Odd, considering the barista specifically asked if I only wanted honey as my sweetener. But the real kicker? The espresso was beyond burnt. What I ended up with was a watery, bitter, overpriced disaster of a latte. At $8.89, it cost more than some of the best coffee spots in midtown--and is the worst tasting latte I've ever paid for. Giving one star only because the barista was friendly, but for a coffee shop, the coffee has to be drinkable. Hopefully, they work out these issues because I'd love to see more locally-owned coffeshops in this area. read more

I'm trying really hard to like this place. It's convenient, It's close, and I like that. But! In the short amount of time I've been visiting there I've had my orders messed up more than once. If you're ordering and then coming to pick up, make sure you check it. If you DoorDash maybe add a note to your driver. Coffee and Matcha it has always been a good (only negative not sifting the Matcha It could be lumpy) .... But you pay extra for things on sandwiches you don't get them. I order coffee cake or pastries and they have not even come with it at all. Once in a blue moon that can slide but when they start adding up, that's unacceptable. read more

Beautiful place, the owner was so sweet and kind and I was so confused on what I wanted to eat and drink since it was the morning , but she was so patient and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. I told her the flavors I enjoy, and she crafted the perfect drink for me. I also really appreciated the visuals she provides, making it easy to see what the food looks like before ordering.
