Went in to get a few necessities to clean our home. I mentioned to my husband that I was going to swing by a large hardware store when he suggested I go to Ace Hardware. We prefer to support small businesses when we are able to I was pleased by the suggestion. I went into the store to shop and wasn't greeted...no big deal. In the aisle, the two make employees broke their conversation to see if I needed assistance. I did not. I found the store to have an adequate selection albeit not exactly the things I was looking for. The store is convenient, parking is convenient and it's definitely a place to stop if you need something for the house quick. My biggest complaint and the reason I won't be back anytime soon is the cashier. She barely acknowledged me at the register and was extremely dismissive. I know she was capable of speaking because I heard her conversing with the male employees about the hot weather. Maybe the only requirement for employment at this store is to fog a mirror because it's certainly not friendliness or interacting pleasantly with customers. I still love the idea of shopping small and hate to penalize a business for such poor performance by an employee. However, friendliness and customer care are definitely the weak links here. read more

I want to like this store, I've basically had positive experiences, but my most recent experience was bad enough to mention and cause me to hesitate visiting again. Instead of buying a simple item online (that I spent time researching), I chose to buy it in person and give the money to my local small business. I walked in and double-checked that this Ace did indeed carry the item -- plastic lids for jars (the old metal one rusted). The male cashier was perfectly friendly. He even helped me find the right area when I got confused. I'm a novice to mason jars. I don't can. Or pickle. I literally own ONE jar, which I use a lot. It was hard to believe that the small-looking lid would fit and I wanted to pick the right size, so I paused to carefully examine them (end of the aisle, my back to the register area). A middle-aged woman (curly hair) came up behind me and was very confrontational -- gruff about insisting the lids would be the right size. Usually the staff is chatty and friendly, so I tried to strike up a conversation (despite being an introvert), but she had none of it. I took my item to be rung up, along with a couple other items that caught my eye (not Mason jars). This time the cashier wasn't very chatty either. As I was being rung up, the woman (now behind me at the registers, but addressing another employee) LOUDLY announced that she'd discovered missing merchandise...she stated these facts TWICE and as if lecturing the other employees. Ma'am, I hope you all reviewed the security footage and enjoyed finding that I stole NOTHING. In fact, I bought a whole package of lids, and other merch, when I only needed ONE silly lid (they aren't sold individually at Ace). Uh, shoplifters tend to operate very differently. But, yes, the lid did fit. Hooray. On the off chance you actually didn't mean to imply I was a theif, and your coworkers were blind dolts, then you need to work on your tact and professionalism. read more

I usually go to ACE hardware stores because I appreciate personal attention and help with finding items. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have not been very positive. The staff seems to be uninterested in helping customers. They were dismissive and acted as if they were doing me a favor to help find items I needed for my projects. Sad how quality of service is going down. read more

I have been here many times, for a variety of needs. If I have a question I don't have to search endless aisles to find someone, and they are more than helpful to show you what you need and where to find it. Signing up for the ace rewards program provides decent coupons pretty regularly in the mail and creates the perfect reminder to return for those times when you need just one more thing to finish a project. read more

Yesterday I went to this ACE Hardware because I needed sanding paper. The service was fast and friendly as is typical for this store. However, I did not see any of the employees wear a face covering and the sales person did not make an effort to stay 6 feet away from me. I hope that ACE will make an effort to train their people on how to behave in this Covid-19 pandemic. read more

I bought some masonry drill bits with a $5 coupon. The $5 coupon required a $25 purchase. The price on the shelf said $28.99. I was charged $33.99. Before I even left the store I double checked the price. I returned to the register and I was told I could get $1.74 returned to my card - instead of the $5 overcharge. When I asked to have it refunded I was then told I could not get my $5 coupon returned. Considering the higher prices, my only reason to visit ACE over Home Depot is customer service. The only person who smiled or extended any pleasantries, whatsoever, was the nice lady at the cash register. There were two other women working the floor and I dealt with both of them, though not one single glimmer of happiness nor friendliness. I felt like I wasted their time by simply asking for assistance. Truly, I'm not going there to make friends, though every other Ace location I've visited has had positive, energetic employees who seemed eager to help. Don't expect that at this location. Also, don't expect to park anywhere close to the store. With two restaurants and an auto parts store surrounding it, you will be walking and dealing with constant traffic. Unless this location is in your backyard, find another location. You are forced to walk quite a ways before dealing with the frowns and lack of caring. read more

The employees made it difficult to social distance because they approached so closely when asking if they could help. This happened three times. Then as I was checking out, one employee entered the store without a mask. He walked right past me without a mask, went behind the counter, spoke briefly to the cashier and walked past me again without a mask. The cashier said, he probably has one in the back. I called the manager, after I left the store. He did say he would speak with the employee who wasn't wearing a mask. I hope ACE will train all their staff to social distance and wear face masks while in the store. read more

While in the store with my boyfriend in a senate aisle, I was profiled by two separate employees and continued to be followed and asked if I needed help fining anything. Which I continued to reply, no thank you and proceeded to look for my boyfriend. A separate employee at the register was rude to both of us upon checkout, very snippy and and unwelcoming. Ace is one of my preferred stores but not this location, very disappointing. read more

Everyone here has always been very helpful. If one person doesn't know an answer they'd call another person in on the question. They've helped me with anything from paint advice, simple plumbing questions (that were major to me), screening work for small window, getting keys made and re-keying so that keys and locks matched better. Everyone has been nothing but friendly and helpful and much less scary than the BIG stores. read more

DO NOT trust these guys with you locks. I trusted them and they screw up the lock I brought to them. Needed the same key and they changed the lock so I need a different key, that did not match the locks for the whole house. The manager was rude and combative when I asked him about the screw up. Use a real lock smith! read more

I find this Ace Hardware to be the best in town. The employees are knowledgeable and very helpful. If by chance they don't have exactly what you are looking for they will find the product and get it for you. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for great service. read more
