I have a five year old , all metal hose that failed. Shanna, the manager refused to honor the lifetime warranty because it is from 2021. And already a replacement from then. They have a hose in stock. I was told to get a box, pack it , pay to ship it, add a 10.00 personal check to ship the replacement back. That alone is 30.00 including the check and i have to wait to see if accepted SO: On line, 5 minutes in the car lot . There is no phone number on the warranty for the mfg in Massachusetts. Plan B... Overniight, The AP app, $33.00. Be here tomorrow. One star added to Ace for being open. New ownership here, new attitude for clients. They have lost a 30 year client loyalty from me & did not even look up my history. Very Short sighted - Shanna! A bit disappointed in my purchase of paint rollers (Ace, better brand). Roller held up well for first cost, but peppered my wall with fibers from the roller on the second coat. I had to sand and start over. Sadly, they would not refund the remaining rolls under a satisfaction guarantee. Was wanting to support local, but will go back to Amazon and HD from now on. read more

I've been going to the Ace Hardware store at Houghton Rd. and Valencia Rd., Tucson, AZ since it opened. Since retiring from the military, I've had several spinal cord surgeries and that has limited the ability for lifting heavy items which made it difficult for me every time I would buy several heavy items. Every time I had heavy items to purchase the staff would always offer to help me load them in my vehicle. It's always the employees who make any business successful and that's exactly the case at this store. It's the professionalism and respect that always brings me back time and time again. I decided to take on painting outside pavers. Not much experience in this area and had many questions (Primer, paint, sealant, paint type etc). Requested some help and got quite a bit from Kevin. Looked on internet for propane refill, their website for the 4571 sunrise tucson location said refill or exchange - check out desk is just inside door so walked through door with empty tanks to ask process and was immediately told to get out with the cans and return. Was told they dont do refills - I showed the internet description and the clerk just laughed and said it was wrong. First, I'm a regular guy. I like to fix things. I've been shopping at ACE Sunrise/Swan for ages. They are always friendly and professional... and better yet they know where things are in their store and are happy to walk you to those items! I ordered some lumber online to fix a drywall/stud issue, and the order was supposed to come Tuesday. I got a call from Jason at ACE on Tuesday who said they were so backed up... I'd have to wait till Thursday. I let him know this project was important... and even their curbside pickup was backed up. Jason said he'd bring it in his personal pickup truck on his way home... and he did... Tuesday... mid-afternoon. Honestly a 1 star review is generous. I have recently moved up to the Catalina foothills and the closest hardware store is this ace. I have given them multiple tries of buying items and such but one thing that I can confirm is that with each purchase the service has gotten worse and worse. I have tried to return a couple of things but they were very rude and I understand that somethings are not returnable but there is no reason to be condescending. I really like this Ace Hardware. The aisles are wide, the store is clean and there are always people that are willing to help you. It's a large store with a lot to choose from. I've never had to ask for help-there has always been someone that works there come up and ask if I need help. It that person doesn't have an answer, they call on someone else. Everyone is friendly and I really fell welcome in the store. I've been to other Ace Hardware stores but this one is my favorite. They might be a bit more expensive than some places but the convenience of the location as well as the excellent customer service have won me over. You'll find items for your outdoor space, like grills, charcoal, patio furniture, flowers, etc. There is also a good mix of home items. Things like cleaning supplies and containers to use in the kitchen. The staff has always been very helpful, and if you join the Ace Rewards, they will periodically send you discounts. I've also been able to order items and have them shipped directly to the store for free. My husband and I bought two patio rockers on Sunday. The chairs were wrapped in shipping paper and so we took them home wrapped up. When we unwrapped them, one had damage from shipping. I called right away and the manager told us they would be happy to exchange it. That was good. My dilemma was finding someone with a truck who could help me transport the chair. I called again today and spoke with another manager (Bill) and explained I would be in tomorrow as I had a friend with a truck who was going to help me. Immediately Bill apologized for my troubles and said they would bring a new chair to my home today. I was speechless as it seems rare these days to get amazing proactive service. The only reason this place has customers is because Lowes and Home Depot are a farther drive. Have shopped here for over 7 years but will not be returning. Asked for assistance 8 months ago for hardware to install a baby swing. One of the employees recommended hooks and metal fasteners, which my handyman installed. Over the last few months, I noticed black powder on my son's face after using the swing. I took a look at the hardware, and the hooks and fasteners were wearing each other away. The fasteners were over 3/4 worn through and I don't even want to think about what would have happened had I not checked in time. Well, I went to the store and explained the situation. The assistant manager didn't even so much as bat an eye or apologize and acted as if there were no problem with the faulty advice I received from a store employee. She simply went about her business and didn't even offer a refund on the faulty items that turned out to be a serious risk to my baby's wellbeing. My wife and I have a small house in the Tucson foothills just a mile from this Ace Hardware store on Sunrise Drive and have worked on many projects in my shop ... so I have used this hardware store a number of times. The staff have always been very helpful, knowledgeable and numerous, unlike the big box hardware stores. In some important basic departments: nuts & bolts, tools, etc the selection is as extensive as the big box competitors and the prices in these areas are quite reasonable in my opinion. I like keeping my dollars local but I've been pretty pleased with overall service at this location. I not had good experience with the paint department within Ace in the past. This past weekend I tried again and got an excellent color match and I do think the finish matched well. The drawback was the lid wasn't attached to the can completely when I left the store. I put the can in the back of my vehicle and it toppled over and there was paint all over the back-end of my car. Luckily it was water-based and the person who didn't put the lid on properly cleaned my car completely. I was late for an appointment due to the clean-up. Next time the paint won't come from Ace. We just love this particular Ace Hardware. I'm sure some of the others offer the same great service. But this one is our local store. Everyone is so knowledgable about the products they sell. They just about have anything you might need for your home. They also have specials and stuff for $1 that just drags you into the store. It's bright and cheery with aisles and aisles of things you need. Very organized and spotlessly clean. You can always find help someone always seems to find you and ask what you need. You pay a premium for the product but you're always able to find what you need and the employees are wonderful. The store is clean and well laid out. I liked the feeling of supporting a business in the Foothills, and the staff was always friendly. Until today. My cashier kept me waiting, complaining to someone about another register.
