The 1st thing to remember is that everyone is struggling with staff and to be kind to the staff who are there in trying to help people. I found that staff were more than willing to help me. An umbrella stand we had bought was $30 more than we thought we paid. The signs were very deceiving and bad business practice. The signs said $39.99 for umbrellas and $29.99 for umbrella stand. My receipt said $69.99. We had come back 2 weeks later.. When the employee (who said she was the manager) comes to check it out, she said that it was not the same numbers from the receipt and on the sign. So, I told her to give me the one that is on sale and I'll take back the other ones. She then asks if I have the box. I said I doubt it. I just moved into my house and boxes away. Then I said, "the girl that helped us even said that it was a great deal!" My boyfriend says," she's the same girl." I asked her if that was her. She then says, "I only took the one that you said you wanted, don't pull anything over on me!" I was pretty shocked at her reaction and I said that "if anyone pulled anything over on anyone, it's you guys! I paid $30 more than I thought I was paying! That's bullshit!" What kind of person says that? We spent $297 in that place and obviously, don't need to pull anything over on anyone to get a deal! It's about the principal! Obviously, this store and this employee who says she's the manager knows nothing about. I've tried many times to get a hold of the actual Manager (Michael) and cannot get a hold of him at any of the stores. She gave me his business card but he's not at any of the locations on the card. Business card is even outdated. This girl is pretty rude. I can't even imagine why she's a "manager". Don't deal with the public, lady. I almost forgot to mention that at some point she says that she was going to help us but "you kept talking!" She told me to stop talking. That's when obscenities came out. I remember when Ace hardware was a good outfit now it's run by a bunch of Karen's I went in looking for a simple item known as a banana plug It goes on the end of a wire so we can plug into a stereo for speaker the barely out of high school staff knew nothing of which I spoke I just as soon asked for a baboon heart for a transplant is most like as I was having so while I'm waiting for these kids to figure out what's going on they have a little popcorn machine and when I was growing up in hardware stores of popcorn was for the customers I don't know there wasn't a price on it I was bored I was waiting so I tried to get some popcorn and the lady that wasn't helping me at the time came over to scold me and literally knocked the popcorn out of my hands and informed me that that popcorn was only for the employees well at this point I had enough and I was headed out the door and I had some outlet covers in my hand and on the way I complain to the young girl that I passed that they were worthless hardware store and toss the outlet covers onto a display box and they bounced off and hit the floor at which point the young lady informed me that I was not to be throwing things at her and I was to leave the store immediately as I informed her I was leaving the store anyway she told me not to speak I didn't have the right to voice my opinion I've bought thousands of dollars worth of hardware for Ace hardware I was buying hardware when these guys were in their diapers and I can tell you one thing for sure customer service is gone to hell when nobody in the whole Ace hardware knows what a banana plug is and then they throw you out on top of that I even attempted to apologize and they were having none of that I was leaving anyway but they lost a customer for life but I was informed by the Karen's on my way out the door that it really didn't matter they didn't care if I was a customer I could take a flying leap I usually don't go out of my way to leave a bad review but it's just unbelievable The entitled Karen's now run the hardware store this country's definitely going to hell in a handbasket thanks Trump read more

This location is around the block from my house and I like to shop local. Everyone is usually helpful. However, today I was extremely disappointed. There were two people in the store - neither happy to be there. I needed a paint sample. The person who grudegedly mixed it for me said it was 5.99 - way too expensive for a sample but I needed it. When I checked out, it turned into 6.99! I told the cashier what I was told and she could have cared less. She asked me for my phone number which didn't come up - didn't ask me to repeat it and just told me the total with tax. The sample works but definitely NOT buying the paint there. When Lowe's doesn't have it and when Home Depot doesn't have it, but Mark's Ace Hardware has it, what other rating are you going to give besides five stars? I needed new shower handles. The valve and kit is a major brand, Price-Pfister. Lowes didn't even have it online. Home Depot did, but it would take three days to get here and for a price that was barely cheaper than Ace Hardward's price. Ace Hardware had it in stock at the store. Done deal. Mark's Ace Hardware here on Wetmore (in the Walmart shopping center by Beall's and east of Best Buy) is a sister store to Mark's Ace on Campbelll in the Albertson's shopping center. This has been open only a few months and is brand new inside throughout. He has a popcorn machine also at this location and you can have complementary popcorn while you shop. If there is none in the popper,, just tell them so and they will be happy to pop up a fresh batch. This store is brightly lit, clean and organized. It is smaller than the Campbell location, but it doesn't feel cramped or lacking in inventory. I love Ace Hardware and so glad they have a healthy heartbeat even with the big box stores around. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? A great idea - too bad they do not stand behind it and make it true! The staff at Mark's Ace at Wetmore are not capable of helping their customers with problems. I spent over half an hour with a woman who could not solve my plumbing problem and find the correct parts. She called almost the entire staff and the manager and none of them could fix my problem or find the correct parts. What a truly waste of time with these idiots!! I bet I had the same rude Manager, I went to return a product bought at another ACE location, and while waiting in line the customer before me a spanish speaking woman who knew very little english was refused a return because the Manager said WE don't loan tools, this has been used! True may it be the lady had no comprehension of what she said but everyone around heard the conversation! I thought wow what she gonna say about my return, it was a gas regulator that was bought at another ACE store, the clerk didn't know anything and kept asking the manager questions, Again the manager gave directions so that everyone knew what was going on and came and sniffed my return and inspected it like I was returning a used product. after passing inspection and approval the clerk rang it up, and discovered I paid more than they were listed at that store. The manager said WE dont pay over than we charge (understandable) but the lady was plain down right rude and has no business with customer service! Great customer service! As a female young adult I always worry about being taken advantage of in male dominated businesses but all employees were knowledgeable, kind, and honest. They had a couple items that they recommended me just going to walmart to get for a cheaper price. And when I returned a 24 hour rental cleaner a few minutes late, they didn't forgave me of any late fees. I agree I'm glad that the store takes the virus seriously. I have shopped at marks hardware for decades and this store In particular since it opened. Today I worked in a crawl space at someone's house from 6:30am till noon. I entered the Ace about 12:30 looking for a 1/4 plastic union tee. I was hot I was tired. I went to where I though they should have been, I found a 1/4" part similar to what I was looking for. I was in a hurry my helper was waiting in the car with the motor running. (Which I appogize for.) I asked the first person on the sales floor I made eye contact with for help. I don't feel like talking with a mask on and it's difficult,I just showed him the part and explained what I needed. I asked if he would show me, he walked off. I asked again and he became very condescending. My part was plastic, he took me to a display of Brass Shark Bites, which wasn't what I wanted. In frustration I lobbed the part back to the shelf. As I was walking out, the person called to my back to never come back to his store. You know I really think he thought it was about his color. I could care less about his color, I only wanted a typical ace hardware helpful, here's the part or sorry I don't have it. In response, which was absolutely nothing that I got. For the first time in my life I walked out of an Ace because no one offered to help me. I count on Ace because the staff are knowledgeable and service is quick. Because my husband is recently disabled and can't always find his words, I now run our errands. The "simple" item he wanted turned out to be several rows & half the aisle & I had no clue. I looked up & down the aisles 3-4 times & saw no employees. I thought when the cashier finished ringing up a sale, she'd be over to help. Another peek & no one to be seen. Finally I dropped my basket back where I got it. The sole employee I saw was sweeping the entry. I told her this was the first time I'd ever waited so long for service at an Ace. Suddenly she wanted to help me? Told her no I'd take my business to someone who appreciates it. Ended up at big box store (hate them) around the corner and got service the minute I walked in as well as staff at the aisle that explained how this product worked so I could see how it fit my needs. I stopped in for something pretty simple and basic, just needing two screws for my car window visor. Overwhelmed by the massive collection that had and trying to find one basically like the one I brought in was daunting but an employee stopped by and took the time to show me where to look, and she even went out to my car with me to test them on my car visor. The people who work there go above and beyond in trying to help you find everything you need for your project. They are unbelievably knowledgeable about all types of home projects large and small. Close to work but don't have what the other Ace locations have. Employees aren't like other Ace locations and hard to find unless you can locate where the congregate to gossip. A very young staff. Twice I've been directed to the Campbell/ Glenn location to find what I came in for. No popcorn, no expertise, no personality...sad location. read more
