I really love this little Ace. It feels like such a throwback to the 1950s hardware stores. It's small. It's quaint. It's a maze and every time I've ever stepped in I've received immediate helpful service. I really need to make this location my main go to. The other locations just don't have the best customer service. I hate when I go into an Ace and I wonder around trying to find someone and they're impossible to find or they're swamped trying to help another customer. I get a sense of family and caring in this Ace and when you're coming in with a vague request it's awesome to have someone know exactly what you need. I've never left here frustrated or empty handed. Review is long overdue; I love this Ace Hardware location (They are NOT all the same). Customer service is NEXT level. Always someone there, ready to help at a second (not minute), seconds notice. Good inventory of high demand items. On 8/11/2022, I had VIPs (To me) coming over for filet mignons, twice baked potatoes, white linen, etc - a special, nice dinner. 40 minutes prior to their arrival, I tested my Fuego Grill - shocker, the regulator was clogged, and the grill would not light. I raced to Ace, as soon as I walked in, I held up the regulator - cashier says, "Isle 19", as I frantically navigated to isle 19, I was intercepted by another employee who could sense my urgency - escorted me directly to the part, home in ten minutes, installed, showered, guests arrived and a perfect dinner ensued. Know this, this service was not an outlier - every time I go in there, I feel special and valued. Thank you Ace and staff, signed a loyal and grateful customer. read more

The AC updraft motor went out at our house. This ACE is 0.2 miles from my home. To get air moving while it was 102°F outside in Tucson on 5/27/2019. When we got there Les greeted us with nothing short of a smile and pleasantry before asking if he could be of any assistance. When we were looking for a fan we were able to acquire the proper one to fit our specific needs. The clerk at the counter, Sylvia, was kind to point out a particular product of hand sanitizer had absolutely no alcohol in it. She saved us on cost and helped us decide to opt for a 'for sure' product to sanitize hands. She was patient as well. Over all my family and I have been coming to the store for nearly a decade. We are moving soon and will miss the store and the friendly clean environment. They sell masks and hand sanitizer here and many other products found at even the largest branches. They have saved us lots of time and money. Thank you ACE and your employees for being there when we honestly needed you. read more

I've been using this Ace constantly since moving to Tucson and, in general, they are very helpful. I needed $50 worth of parts and rather than drive to HD figured I would give Ace's website a shot. Long story short, the parts didn't work and needed to be returned. Ace has a national policy that all items bought on the website can be returned to your local store however, Ace Desert Vista on Country Club refused to take returns from the website unless they have it on the shelf despite the national policy. The employees claim that the owner, Glen, will dock pay if employees follow the national policy and return items from the website that are not in store which, in general, is a violation of AZ law. This was a eye-opening and frustrating experience. After talking to a very helpful national chain Ace employee, they connected me with Marks on Campbell who happily accepted and processed the return. The employees are friendly but it really seems like ownership has a few issues they need to review. Until then, I'll shop at Marks down the road. read more

The perfect example of the Ace hardware brand- small locally owned store, friendly knowledgeable staff - ( some long time employees who are Gems!). If they don't have what you are looking for they either find it at a nearby Ace or they order it for you. As a petite woman, l have had bad experiences in other hardware stores ( condescending employees or being completely ignored) I can honestly say that for the 15 + years that I've been a customer at this ACE location that I have NEVER had a bad experience in this shop. No, in fact- I always have felt welcome and they have never failed to help me with my projects. Highly recommended! read more

I got the wrong size of electrical crossbar at Mark's Ace on Campbell, plus, I needed another one as well. Stop at the one on Country Club. The sales person helped me, found the right size and told me I could just exchange it here. Got to the register and the crossbar I brought in wouldn't scan. The clerk called a woman over. She scanned it too and same problem. I told them I got it at the Campbell Ace and the woman right away copped an attitude. "You can't bring this back here." I told her the sales agent said it was ok. She got snooty, "Well, no, you can't, I should know, I'm the manager." Ok, whatever. It was totally unnecessary. The folks at Mark's Ace on Campbell are always friendly and helpful. I'll never go back to this Ace. Who wants to deal with a condescending store manager with attitude? read more

Needed a drill for a project and stopped by. The drill was not working correctly, so I went back within a couple of hours to exchange it. I went up to the same associate who helped me the first time, who now was cashiering. I explained what happened, and before I get to the part where I was exchanging...she said "oh, I see what you did, you bought it, used it and now want your money back...I get it". I told her I WAS going to spend MORE money on a better drill, but not anymore. She never apologized and tried to retain my business, so I went to Marks Ace Hardware down the road. They DID want my money and got it. They were super friendly and the store is bigger and better laid out (you can touch the drills on display) I will never shop at the Country Club location again. read more

Staff is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. On the instance the store associate does not know something he/she will ask, check a catalog to respond to your need. They will order anything you need with a smile, and the delays are minimal. The manager does a fantastic job at keeping inventory current. It is the only hardware store I go to. I use Ace whenever I can - yeah, they don't have the floor space and selection of the big box stores and they cost a bit more but they do some things the big guys don't and their staff is way more attentive and helpful. In particular they have very reasonably priced re screening or making new screens to match for you - I use this all the time as we have a number of rentals around town. Also if you have single pane windows, they'll re-glaze them and/or fix the seals in them for a very reasonable price, usually same day. Very handy for those "we don't know what happened, the window just exploded on its own" tenant moments and a fraction of the cost of having a window place come out. read more
