We just got our screens today, 2/07/2025. We placed to order on December 15th, 2024.As soon as we got home and I mean the second I unloaded the first screen it started falling apart. The center brace fell off and we couldn't get it to stay on. In addition, all of the center braces were installed in the wrong direction. They should be horizontal but were all installed vertical. The cording that holds the screen in place is falling out all over and I have to keep reinstalling the screen. $600 and I got crap. SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS! So because the braces were installed in the wrong direction, the screens are bowed side to side, and there are big gaps around them. I'm pretty upset because there has been nothing but problems since we placed the order. No builder to make the screens but nobody called us. Materials back ordered but nobody called us. Dropped in to. Check status, since nobody was calling us and was told all but one screen was done. I told them I would be back to pick them up. Went in next day and was told there are still three that are not completed. I said ‍ and left. They finally called the next day and said they are all done and ready for pick up. This has been a very stressful situation. The stress has made me physically ill. The screens are total garbage but we had to install them because we cannot wait any longer. I hope this is an eye opener for people so they DO NOT BUY screens from ACE hardware. read more

Joey installed the diaphragm for my pool cleaner while he watched a YouTube video (instead of directing me to do the same.) He opened the chlorine container for me. A friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and equally enthusiastic group of like minded individuals from every social strata, culture, or whatever you as a being identify with. However, as a person who likes to get things done my particular way at my particular speed, I've very rarely been disappointed by the selection and equally if at times more importantly, the service individuals who , if they cannot find the answer they will put their ego aside and ask another person so we all learn. I took some OEM key blanks to be cut. The person that does the key cutting said that "they cannot cut keys unless it was with their blanks". I asked why? He said "company policy". I told him that is a stupid policy and he said it was for liability reasons. I asked how cutting a Ford OEM key could be a liability. He did not (could not) respond. The man was a jerk and ACE Hardware just lost all my business. I went to Home Depot and the key guy there cut them for me with no problem. read more

This is a local hardware store that carries most things needed for a small home repair project. The staff is great and knows where everything is at in the store. The paint department here is also good and they are very helpful. I wanted one coat paint that would take care of a few problems. The employee working the paint department had decades of paint sales experience and I truly got one coat paint. With the sale they had going on it was cheaper here than at a big box store. If you live in the area and need something quick give this place a try. read more

I'm not one to write a review but I must recognize Randy and Ace Hardware on 1st Ave in Oro Valley. Randy could not do enough to help me. He never made me feel rushed and actually took the time to explain the reason he suggested the things he did. I felt like I had a personal shopper. I would recommend him to anyone shopping there and would look for him next time I'm there. The store itself was clean, organized and easy to navigate through. Everyone there was friendly. I was also impressed with their selection. I didn't know if I'd find everything I needed but I sure did and then some. I really enjoyed this store! read more

Brought a package of fasteners to this Ace which I had bought from another location. The cashier claimed they did not cary them and could not return them. I explained to her the exact product was hanging on their shelf in the identical packaging. She insisted that they were different. They aren't now I have to drive from Ace to Ace. Don't shop at Ace go to Home Depot or Lowe's and avoid these frustrations. Plus Ace is expensive. read more

This Ace has got to be the friendliest, cleanest, and most well run home store I have ever been to. They have free popcorn up front and the sales staff all know exactly how to help without being pushy. They let you walk around and come up to you if you look like need help but don't continue to bother you if you tell them you've found what you need. Also they have a large selection of keys and are pretty darn fast and making copies. read more

"Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man" and this one is a smaller one in a strip mall in Oro Valley. There is always plenty of parking right out front, and I have always been greeted as I walk through the store. In addition to the normal things you find in a hardware store, Ace always has a few interesting and different items. This particular Ace also sold Christmas trees and local handmade items at Christmas time. Definitely the place to go if you don't want to head to the big box store down the street. read more

Total jack! Rude manager. Went in and asked for empty boxes for a move. Nice employee told me to come back on certain day at certain time and pointed to spot on floor where the boxes would be. Went back. Boxes there. I bent down to pick up a few. Manager (had name tag on) said no, can't do. He pointed to an aisle where they were for sale at 99 cents a piece. What happened to manners and RECYCLING? Why should I spend more money and add to the carbon footprint when the empty ones were right at feet? Grow up and stop being so greedy Ace!!!! read more

A new store that's inviting and well stocked. Inviting in every way except price. All items in the store are very pricey. Ive never been to a more expensive hardware store in my life. I cant imagine what the owners were thinking when they established prices. There are alternatives in the Oro Valley area that are much more reasonable...WalMart and Catalina Hardware come to mind. read more
