As a customer who loves most Ace hardware stores specifically for the customer service and convenience, do no go to this location. Ace needs to pull the franchise license for this store from the owner. Customer service is terrible, have had employees insist on counting and checking .10c nuts and washer when I'm buying 4 of them as if I'll steal .40 c worth of washers. Everything is locked up in cages so you can't even stop in quick to buy a screw driver or drill bit. Because everything is locked up employees are constantly busy and you end up spending 5x as long standing around waiting for help for something that should be a quick errand. Add in the fact they constantly refuse coupons that don't say they have exemptions. I've had this store refuse to honor a coupon so I drove to another Ace who was happy to take it for the exact same product. 0/10 worst Ace. read more

I was recommended to come here because I needed a new screen for my sliding door. Craig was extremely helpful, friendly, and did a fantastic job with the replacement. The 5$ coupon is a scam. The coupon specifically states it is valid for full priced merchandise at or over $25 only and any sale merchandise voids the coupon if the purchase price does not add up to $25. So I assuming that any sale price or special price would be posted went ahead and purchased two items at the posted prices which added up to about $26 approximately. After I paid for this sale and asked the cashier to make sure that the coupon discount was included , she said yes it was. Well no it wasn't, it was voided because one item was $1.00 off on 'special' - not posted and very deceptive to get people to come in the store and screw them over. Went in to buy a screen door for our sliding door as ours didn't have one. i measured the sliding door prior to coming in and knew they were in stock based on their website. I live less than a mile from this store. After today's experience I will never go to this location again. In the future all of my Ace purchases will come from Mark's Ace Hardware. Today I went in to buy three electrical switches. Two were in stock. When the clerk asked a manager for help to get the third switch his respoinse was, "That is not a popular switch." He then walked away. I drove 30 minutes from my home to Mark's Ace Hardware on Linda Vista and Thornydale. Same exact situation with a better result. The two switches in stock were the same as above with the third switch out of stock. The clerk offered to order the third switch. I ordered the switch. Ordered some cutting work of acrylic that could be easily done in an afternoon. I gave them a whole 5 days so that it would be done correctly with no time pressure. On pick up day, two different clerks over the phone told me it hadn't even been started. I was then told they were waiting on a couple of additional sheets, but I was never called to inform me of a delay and for me to be able to make alternate arrangements. I quickly travelled over to the store to cancel my order and receive a full refund. Suddenly, they discovered about 1/3 of the work had been done, but none of the pieces would allow me to complete anything. No clue, no communication. I'm never coming back here again. Yes, I'm a regular customer at this Ace Hardware, and have been for almost a decade. This Ace has gone way, way downhill... and today I wanted somebody in wood, I had to wait 20 minutes and then I had to go get somebody after they were called, I heard them on the loudspeaker... and it's just terrible this is not the first time! it seems like all the employees that work at the store don't know anything, Don't want to know anything, don't want to help the customers, and actually I'm surprised to see the store got a three star review because I think it should be much less than that! read more

I tried to return a flush valve from a toilet kit that I purchased the week before. Part was defective and ace did not want to return the part. I did not have the receipt but I did have my debit statement. I'm a plumber so I haven't had a defective flush valve. The manger Jillian dawn would not return it which is funny because when you're local plumber starts charging more for service's this is why. I have a plumbing company and will not be buying from ace. Apparently it was 6:59 in this place closes at 7 p.m., the sign on the door that said open was still up and the automatic doors we're still unlocked. My husband and I walked in, a dark haired lady to the left of us who worked there immediately told my husband "We're closed, it's 6:59 and we close at 7. Can you come back tomorrow?" I honestly thought nothing of it as we turned around and walked back to her car and then I see an older white lady approaching the area and walked right into the store, after that the same lady who told us that the store was closed and to come back tomorrow, went and turned off the door so they wouldn't open automatically as they closed behind her in the lady that just walked in. My husband and I sat there in the truck thinking about why she was not asked to leave like we were. We noticed a taller gentleman who also had an ACE vest on came out to the front (while still in the store) to look out; it really did appear as though he was looking at us sitting in our car looking at them LOL. I hate to take it there- BUT other than the fact that my we're brown and have tattoos there was no other difference. In my mind, the lady got scared when she saw both of us walking, the fact that she focused on my husband and did not speak directly him. She looked down as she was telling us the store was closed and could we come back tomorrow. Tells me she was probably scared for whatever reason, probably her own ignorance. We knew what we wanted to stop in for; it would have taken us no more than a few minutes, check out and all. I have been a regular customer here at this ace. Mary is always cheerful and remembers us by name whenever we come here. HOWEVER, today was a not so good experience. Upon entering the store, I found what I needed and had to get a clerk to open a locked case to get an item that was 1.49. He was stocking shelves and said I'll be there in a minute. 5 minutes went by when he made it 10ft down the isle to get the item for us. After he got the item he wouldn't give it to me and said "I have to take this to the register for you". What the heck! It was an item that was 1.49 and they treat a regular customer like me as if I was a thief. Sorry, bad experience. Now looks like my new regular hardware store will be Lowe's. Sorry for you. I generally love Ace Hardware stores. Friendly, helpful but this one, from the minute I walked in, was not. No greeting. I walked around and around trying to find my items (and not crossing paths with anyone who worked there). Until, I turned a corner and there was an employee with his mask down under his chin. I ducked by him and said, "Sir, your mask should be up." He said nothing, I got to the end of the aisle and looked back, no mask in place. I complained to the woman behind the counter and then tried to find one last item. I asked the paint guy and he waved at a wall. I looked and couldn't find it so I bought the one item I could find and left. I will never go to that store again. read more

Every Ace Hardware store is oddly the same, yet completely different somehow. This Ace is no exception. Because Ace is a franchise, the owners can pretty much set-up the store in any way they choose and they what they stock their shelves with. So, you can really find the same stuff in any of their stores and it will probably just be laid out a little differently. But, the defining difference between the stores are really the way employees work with the customers. I've been to some Ace stores in the Tucson and Oro Valley areas that have had really poor customer service and they never really seem to know where anything is. This particular store in the Continental Ranch area is different in that regard because they employees go out of their way to help and if they don't have an answer, they will ask their coworkers for help right away, so you don't have to follow them up and down every aisle while they look for whatever you asked them about. I'm not going to hardware stores very often, but if I have to go, this is the Ace that I choose to visit. read more

Went yesterday asked for help and two staff just said what area item was in and when I got to that area another staff member would not show me where the items I was looking for. They were individual bolts and nuts, finally found what I want only to be berated by cashier for not knowing price of items, she had to have someone come up front and I had to wait for him to call back with price, which took awhile. I went to ACE rather big box store for the individual attention, guess that is gone. Wow. This store is horrible. Don't go there even if it's close by. The staff are rude and The they're items fall apart. Not to mention they are about 20 percent more expensive then Home Depot and even Lowes We bought an axe and the blade broke off. It flew through the air and almost hit me in the head. We exchanged it after much complaining and then the second ax also broke with just 2 swings. The third time , the staff refused to let us return it , There was no manager there on a Saturday and the owner refused to talk to us or come in. Walked in and the older, caucasian male employee at the paint counter was wearing his mask completely under his nose, not following the CDC guidelines which recommends wearing the face mask fully COVERING the nose. The male employee was also not maintaining social distancing guidelines. He had a large bandaid on his nose. We did not feel safe being assisted by this employee who was not correctly wearing his mask and will be going to another ACE Hardware to get our paint mixed. This is more of an old fashioned hardware store that stocks all the little oddball items that the big box stores do not. It's a bit more expensive but worth finding what you actually need. A very nice gentleman at Lowe's was trying to help me adapt a pipe to a particular chore and he must of had six fittings selected, all of them stepping up or down the thread count and size. Decided it wasn't going to work, went by Ace and lo and behold, they actually make the exact piece I needed. If you need a good selection of off size screws, bolts, fasteners, etc., they have a pretty decent selection in the slide out boxes - stuff the big box stores don't bother to carry any longer. It's an expensive way to buy hardware but if you need it, you need it. read more

Have become a regular customer here, especially after the Ina Road exit reconstruction made it more difficult to get to the big box stores on the other side of the 10. I like the store. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Usually has exactly what I need to fix or replace an item in our 1994 developer house. Unlike the big box stores, you can find human help within seconds. Includes many services, including screen repair, glass pane cutting, knife sharpening (though they're sent out and it can take a week or more to get back.) read more
