Customer service could improve significantly! I went to purchase some items and one of the items was in a connex box or so I was told. The manager and assistant manager were too busy giggling and couldn't be bothered to help so they walked away into their office. No one else on the floor. Really wanted to help because it was in a "conex box way out back" I wrote an email expressing my concern to Ace hardware and got some mumbo jumbo about having to file it anonymously and some other stuff. Not sure why they can't handle the situation on their own. They already have all the information that they need. I won't be back to that Ace hardware on Golf Links Road ever again. read more

Can't go wrong with an ACE Hardware and this one is no exception. It has all the nick knacks, screws, nails, nuts and bolts, tools, supplies, parts, soda, candy, etc. etc. etc.: all the things that make ACE great and the store we love! And yes, they do have the resident "expert" on everything (can't remember his name) and he has bailed me out a few times. ACE always has some cool things in inventory that you will not find at the big box hardware stores. You also find help close by, which is also something that you do not find consistently at the big box hardware stores. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? I've found myself coming here a lot lately as projects seemingly keep piling up. They have a wide variety of just about everything so it's super helpful. The employees seem to be hit and miss from a service standpoint. But I still like shopping local and prefer smaller spots over big box stores. read more

Very disappointing Black Friday 'deal'. Wasn't worth trip. First, one floor person was extremely friendly and helpful. He was the one and only. He too didn't know about the unwritten rule. The coupon was only good on non-asterisk *item but you DONT KNOW WHICH ITEMS ARE EXCLUDED(most of them...trust me) until you check out! The lady at the cash register was total opposite of the floor help. She lacked any hint of being the 'helpful hardware man'...perhaps it's because it was a 'her'. She made us try to find a barcode in our app, on our phone, at counter. Plus she was unsympathetic that twice we'd been there with "ineligible' items. Anyway, after several people waited, she grabbed the paper ad ( we had failed to cut ours out...circa 1970s) and scanned it...we got a decent price on rake. Why she made us jump through hoops while she had answer right next to her is beyond me. Moral of story: ACE DOES NOT DISCLOSE PERTINENT INFO ON COUPONS thus is not worth bothering Black Friday or for me, any future big deals. I've loved Ace for years. Today brought me to a new level of how I view them. Lowe's was great. Every deal there was as stated. No hassles. No gimmicks. Ps.I just googled my step stool. Found the exact one in Ace's online website. Right underneath it , it shows that you DO GET TODAYS DEAL on it. However, this Ace also was not set up for Black Friday gift cards either. Had to wait while they were brought up front, open etc. Didn't they know about them earlier? So disappointed. read more

This has been our go-to Ace recently. It's not the largest Ace in town, but they still have a very good variety of items. It's very rare that they don't have something we're looking for. Yes, the prices are higher than the larger chains, but the convenience of not having to go to a large store, and their larger selection on many home improvement items, makes up for it. The staff here is always friendly, and the popcorn is always popping. read more

This was hands down the best hardware store visit I've ever had. This Ace had tons of the spray paints we were looking for when Home Depot had looked like it was robbed. Nothing in stock. In this Ace, I was asked by FIVE different employees if I was finding everything ok. I had only been shopping for ten minutes! That's unheard of now. Great job!! read more

Ace Hardware locations are locally owned and super helpful. I made an attempt to order curbside pickup through the national website that failed and Art from the local store was beyond responsive figuring out the issues. I ended up ordering curbside pickup over the phone and the Ace folks were great. Dealing with the local folks worked perfectly read more

I have been using this Ace Hardware store for personal and business purchases for decades. In the past several months something has changed. Most of the smiling, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people are gone, not all, but most. We are left with the most unfriendly cashier I have ever encountered anywhere! This person has such a sour attitude that it feels like a poison that infects the whole store. This is not just a one-time experience, but the cosistant, everyday experience. How this person keeps her job is beyond my understanding. Recently, as I was checking out I realized I had fogotten an item. There was no one else in the check-out line so I asked if I could leave to get the last item. By the scowl on her face you'd have thought I had offened her deeply. This is not atypical of this persons attitude. Asking for help from her is like stepping on her toes. Look, I like Ace Hardware, but why this person is allowed to interact with costomers is difficult to understand. read more

You want to know why Ace seems to be everyone's second choice? It's because of their employees awful attitudes and lack of customer service. I live right next to ace hardware and everyone I go in the customer service send to get worse. Today I went in to ace and arrived at exactly 4:00pm. I already had my mask on when I stepped out the car, watch as another customer entered in only 10 seconds before me (at most) and started walking towards the door. An employee opened the door told me they close at 4 today and wouldn't let me in. I told him I only had 3 things to get and and could obviously see there was at least 6 customers inside at the register. As I tried to speak he shut the door on me and held it closed and yelled that I'd have to come back the next day at 8am when they open. I got back in my car frustrated and check my watch, IT WAS ONLY 4:01 PM! there was still other customers inside and the gentleman that walked in before me was shopping. . NOT SHOPPING HERE AGAIN. home depot is cheaper, nicer and has better customer service. Don't waste your time at Ace. read more

Great Ace if you don't want paint. I have waited at the counter for what seemed like an eternity. I had an employee come toward me then turn up an aisle. I waited as I listened to an employee on his cell phone talking about a rental and heard several talking by the cash registers. Asked the group talking for help with paint. A woman with short hair went back to paint & told me she was on her last day of her 90 days and if she messed up the paint she would lose her job & she really needed her job. She messed with it forever and finally asked a man, the one that turned up the aisle earlier, if he would help her. He said no and walked away. She said they were getting ready to replace the machine & that the machine didn't like her. After what seemed like forever, the old guy that usually does paint, took over. Seemed like it took him forever but he told me that she had it all wrong. I took my paint to the cashier & who was it but the lady that tried to make the paint. She told me the machine didn't like her as she was trying to check me out. I do not know who the manager is over there but he doesn't run a very tight ship. Love this place other than the paint. They need to get rid of that section of the store if employees don't want to mix it. Popcorn smells good that's a plus. It really is a great store if you don't want paint. read more
