We had errands to run in this area so we found this place on yelp. The place is very cozy, cute, clean and like a lot of small restaurants it's walls are adorned with work from a local artist. I ordered the veggie omelette with egg whites. It came with a English muffin that they make in house. My meal was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered a flatboy. That too was very tasty as were the homefries. Service was a little slow not horrible but everyone was super friendly and nice. The one suggestion I would have to make is that they should consider serving fresh squeezed oj. I would definitely come back and maybe try their build your on burger night. read more

Called ahead, reserved for 6 was told it was just, "12.99!!" a person and BYOB. So we arrived, sat, and ordered. They give you 2 wings per flavor you order so some of us only got 2 wings. We asked for more. 30 minutes later we still hadn't seen our waitress. I got up and politely asked, "Isn't tonight 'all you can eat wings?" She replied, "Yes but all you can eat is like 6 wings." I said, "yes but some of us only got 2 and that was like 30 minutes ago. We are hungry." They brought us a next round of 2 to 4 wings. I had lost my appetite for wings by now. I paid $14.99 per person with a tip included on the bill.(I almost left an additional $22 tip...glad I noticed) We left and went to another place to eat. I guess it's what I'd pay for a 6 piece anywhere else but it was not what we expected and not what was promoted. On the positive side, excellent fries, sauces dry rubs are good and their Head Chef is very polite and friendly. Our favorites were the pineapple habenero and garlic parm. First of all, I have been a Paul Gregory's goer for a few years now. I can say it is one of my two favorite places. The food is absolutely amazing. Paula and Theresa know us by name and what we love, and how we take our coffee. The atmosphere is pleasing to anyones eye, and they have the Gourmet-to-go with anything you could imagine. I am partial to the home made english muffins! This Thanksgiving, I pre-ordered the fully roasted Turkey breast, cheesecake and pies. BEST I ever had. It is worth it! we waited several minutes to be sat while a woman at the front counter was on her cell phone, ignoring us. when we ordered, we were two of four customers in the place, the others having already been served, but our food still took a half hour to be prepared. during preparation, presumably the chef came downstairs to make a phone call. it showed in the quality of the food, as the chicken cutlet was overcooked. the potato salad & cole slaw both tasted like they had turned, inedible. while we were trying to salvage what we could of our meals, two new guests waited a full 5 minutes (not exaggerating, it was pretty painful to watch & i wondered why they even waited that long) to be greeted by anyone. & by the time she checked in with how our food was, it was far too late to try to get anything else. they have no idea what they are doing & don't waste your time. read more

I really like this place. My office is a few blocks away and I go there for lunch a few times a week. Not only is the food fantastic, everyone there is extremely nice and helpful, which seems to be a rarity these days. I made the mistake of going up the street to the Pepper Pot and the waitresses grunt at you and act like they are bothered by your existence. Anyway, back to Paul Gregory's. I would highly recommend the chicken parm sandwich with sweet potato fries. I've had it 4-5 times and it has been great every time. I also have ordered the flatbread pizza's and they were absolutely packed with delicious toppings. It is supposed to be a pizza for one person but I could only finish half of it. The bottom line is that it is a huge step up from places like Subway and Blimpie. Where do I begin...? My daughter and I went in for lunch. First of all, there was only one customer ahead of us and it took the staff 10 minutes to order. The person behind the counter seemed flustered and it took her 5 minutes to enter our order with multiple attempts and errors. I had the feeling we might not get what we ordered. Our beverages weren't served until our packaged order came out and we had to wait another 5 minutes for her to cash out one customer. The coffee she served was the last quarter of the pot. I asked for a splash of milk and watched her pour Coffee Mate to where the coffee was milk with a little coffee. When informed of the coffee order she poured some of the coffee and added more. I don't take sugar and that coffee was still too sweet. We opted for take out and when we sat to eat it, it was not right. The crispy chicken wrap was on the wrong wrap and rubbery. The chicken salad was salty and on the wrong wrap, and the sweet potato fries were next to burned. The cupcake we decided to try (chocolate coconut) was not good at all. The frosting was overpowering and quite frankly, a Hostess snowball tastes better and that is not saying much. I like to get what I paid for and had high hopes despite the blunders. I also hate to waste food. After paying $35.00, my daughter and I ended up throwing away three quarters of the order. Even our hunger couldn't overlook this unsavory experience. read more

We are locals and often come here for breakfast as it offers home made quality. We've named it Vermont as it's a cute place one would find off a country road. Ok, maybe a little corny, but I will tell you, this place is a gem. The food is fresh and the portions very generous. Their lunches are just as good with fresh vegetables and excellent quality meat. Stay up at the top of the road at the pepper pot if you want good food and service. There at 920 on a Sunday morning and didn't get out until 1045 by the time the food came out. Being the picky eater that I am I asked if the hash had onion. The lady said yes but you couldn't even notice it so I ordered it. You only couldn't notice it because of the eggs on top. Chunks of purple onions throughout and just disgusting only tasted onions. Bacon said thick and crispy it was shriveled and chewy. read more

My new favorite place in town! I happened to stumble upon this quaint little shop while at the Italian Fest on Center St. We were greeted by two workers who were very friendly and helpful. We left with a few cupcakes and their fresh housemade english muffins. The girl at the counter told me that their customers claim they are the best english muffins you will ever taste. I'm a sucker and you could sell most anything to me so I left with a bag full. Let me just say I ate two of them later that night. AMAZING and flavorful, they really are the best! And they are huge!! I was determined to return to have an actual meal, the menu descriptions alone work up an appetite. I returned with my boyfriend a few days later for lunch. I would have loved to go in and stay alll day to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I could. The service was great, the staff is super sweet, and the place is extremely clean/updated. The food is fresh and they make their own bread. A little pricey, but well worth the quality of the food/service. The portions are quite generous so you will have to get dessert 'to go'. This was an unbelievable Yelp find on our way home from New Haven. My wife had a delicious egg, ham and cheese wrap. I went with an eggs Benedict Florentine over a homemade English Muffin. The hollandaise sauce was perfect. Creamy, rich but not overly so and just a hint of lemon. The spinach was amazing. Our waitress didn't give up the spices that were used to provide very different flavors and a bit of heat. I could have just had a bowl of it for breakfast. Eggs were precisely done. We split an order of corned beef hash on the recommendation of the regulars at the table next to us and are glad we did. Subtly prepared allowing for the beef, potatoes, onion and touch of smoke to come through in every bite. The earlier reviews regarding the waitstaff being stretched thin were accurate, but the service was great if a bit slow. If you're in a rush or if you need your coffee refilled immediately, you may not want to eat here, but slightly slow service is a small price to pay for made from scratch stunningly delicious food. They like to use peppers in a lot and for my personal preference, I don't really like peppers. I believe there are two owners of this restaurant and while the young blonde chef is always friendly with a smile, the older waitress just always seems angry! Go to the counter and get a beautiful, delicious baked good. If you decide you want something savory, though, be prepared for a very. long. wait. From entrance to exit, four salads with no meat took an hour and a half. If a restaurant isn't staffed well enough to take on a lunch hour, then maybe it should stick with its pretty desserts and leave the salads to someplace else. I visited this restaurant for breakfast. It is a very clean and well kept restaurant/bakery. I ordered the eggs benedict with lobster and spinach. The restaurant was not busy when we went. There was only one other small table being served. It seemed to take an extended period of time for them to bring the food out. Longer than it normally would take at other restaurants. When the food was finally brought out, there was only a small amount of lobster and a large amount of spinach. It was extremely expensive for the amount of lobster we received on our eggs benedict. No sides were provided either as those were ala cart for the eggs benedict selection. Although the food was good, I would be hesitant to go again. read more

The English muffin that came with it was delicious! Hubby had eggs and sausage. Sausage was very tasty. I'd definitely would go back and try something different. The service was not great. Starting with not being greeted when we came in, not being greeted when our server came to the table--I don't count walking up to the table and saying "what can I get you" as a greeting. note to restaurants, part of why people go to a restaurant is for the service. I can cook great food, but I go out for the entire experience. When our order was ready, it was literally dropped at our table by the same 'friendly' waitress, without even a pause. She disappeared. We needed ketchup and tabasco. Had to snag ketchup from a table. Finally bite into our order, and it was wrong. I received a ham & cheese omelet (I ordered veggie) and hubby's eggs were wrong as well. Our waitress had still not returned to see if we were ok with our order. Had to flag her down to let her know it was wrong. She offered to have order replaced, but there was never any apology. I finally got my omelet...didn't take too long. I love trying out new places to eat, this one has made my top 10 list for sure!!! Starting from the ambiance and continuing thru to the service, I love this place. I had the waffle with fruit because waffle is one of my favorite breakfast foods, and it isn't always done right. The waffle at Paul Gregory's was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had great flavor on its own. The fresh fruit on the side was perfect: pineapple, apple, cantaloupe and honey dew melon - sweet and refreshing. I also had a latte made with almond milk. It was very good, they did have a variety of other flavors but I like to try the basics to get a baseline before I dive into the specialties. My boyfriend had a veggie omelette with home fries and toast. My son had French toast with fresh fruit and bacon. The bread is home made, thick, and delicious! I would go back for that alone. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that the service was a little slow. There were only 2 waitresses and the place was busy so I don't fault them for taking long but our original seating and drink order took longer than I would expect from any establishment. Every time I eat here the food is amazing. The prices may seem high, but the food is absolutely amazing and the portion size is awesome. I also had the eggs Benedict that another reviewer had (looks like the same day too) and it was amazing, not greasy at all and the hash-browns were perfect.
