We got to Pau around 8am on a Thursday morning and only waited about 10-15 minutes to order and get our food. We ate across the street at the park which was nice. They have a pretty big menu from breakfast and lunch sandwiches, to empanadas, to sweets and pastries. Good coffee menu also. Great experience overall.

Food: 4.9/5 Service: NA/5 Value: 4.7/5 Stopped by and was mesmerized by their berry cheesecake, and oh my goodness it didn't disappoint. If you're ever around here, would STRONGLY recommend the cheesecake. The cheesecake is thick, the crust is even thicker, and the berry glaze adds a nice sweetness that's not too sweet while there are whole blueberries inside to add just a touch of tanginess to some of the bites you take. We loved it so much we came back a second time close to closing but they were out of the cheesecake already. What a bummer but glad I got to experience it once.

The pastries on display in the cases all looked delicious and screamed EAT US. I succumb easily to pastry pressure so we got a brownie and a piece of coffee cake (blueberry). The brownie was ooey and gooey with crispy edges. I am not a chocoholic so one bite was good enough for me, though warm and topped with a scoop of ice cream would have been amazing. The coffee cake was oddy devoid of flavor and not something I'd order again. Staff wasn't particularly helpful but maybe it's because they were busy and only had two people behind the counter. The empanadas looked good and I could be persuaded to go back and try them. But I think I'll skip the sweets.

Came for the empanada. Just a tad disappointed. The place was fully stocked on them. Maybe I got the wrong one. I got the beef. Not so flaky. No flavor in the filling. Also had to wait about 10 minutes for the thing. Staff is great though!

We tried the empanadas, bagel sandwich, and the cinnamon roll. Everything was great!! The empanadas were just as good as the ones we had in Spain and cinnamon roll was so flavorful! I would definitely come back.

Clearly I was sold at fresh sourdough, they sell individual rounds, fresh from the oven and even better with local honey and butter. We also snagged a few empanadas to heat up throughout the week with a side of cheesecake, so all in we were pretty happy with our first try of Pau. The staff are friendly and the vibe is welcoming.

Located about a mile down from the Times market on Lower Honoapiilani Rd in Kaanapali this little gem I found by chance and SO thankful I did; coincidentally it is located right next to Bad Ass coffee. Pau is Italian owned and Italian operated and I don't think of the several times that I visited did I encounter any one of the staff who didn't have an Italian accent. Pau was amazing in every way; the quality of the coffee, the expertise in which it was prepared and friendliness of the staff. Let's not also forget the quality of their unbelievable pastry selection and empanadas. I could sit there all day and eat the empanada's; I only sampled the chicken and beef and both were equally delicious!! . Go online and take a look at their menu as they have other options as well regarding food to eat for breakfast etc. Now I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I have been to Bad Ass coffee on previous visits before and I absolutely have no idea why people continue to wait in long lines at Bad Ass when in my opinion Pau's quality and service is far superior... it can't be because of price as a 12 ounce latte with a double shot of espresso is only $5.50 at Pau. I honestly feel you will not regret giving ' this little slice of Italy' a shot and when you do I think there's a good chance you'll be hooked liked I am. "Also make sure you get there fairly early and grab a warm fresh baked loaf of sourdough bread...SO GOOD" They open at 7am and close at 2pm... small parking area but a a lot of people coming and going so it's pretty easy to grab a spot.

Probably get best cinnamon rolls I've had in a while! Very casual place just down the street from another quite famous cinnamon roll spot. The folks were so nice too! We took our food across the street and had a delicious brekkie right on the beach. It was heaven! Can't wait to come back!

I went in for the Empanadas and they did not disappoint. I have been back a second time already. Highly recommend, hot or cold. They have so many other good offerings, you are literally spoiled for choice for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend and the staff are so friendly ad service is quick. The service is always phenomenal. The staff is so friendly Valentino takes my orders all the time and is so helpful with suggestions! The location is perfect. We love to come here for coffee and a pastry to take across the street to Honokowai beach park. Absolutely stunning views and the clearest water. The pistachio croissant is amazing. We stopped on our little road trip and split the egg/bacon bagel. It was so good. We also bought a cinnamon roll to eat later. They are huge. I warmed it and each ate 1/4 saving some for later. It is by far the best cinnamon roll either of us have ever had. Shamefully - I licked the plate

This place came up on our search for breakfast a few times so we decided to give this a try. They have great looking choices overall, especially with the food that is displayed in the shelves! We had their croissant and chicken empanadas. Both were great. Their salmon toast was good too. If you like Kona, the coffee store next door has some good options that complement the sweet treats here. They do have limited parking so do plan to spend some time finding a spot especially if you are on a schedule.

We decided to come here to get lunch since they had a vegan option. It looked fairly new with beautiful art on the wall. They were very organized and efficient. The place was small with a few tables for seating inside. It was clean open and airy. The bread for the sandwich was absolutely spectacular. The issue I had was with how little actual hummus,red bell pepper, mushroom, and zucchini there was. It was extremely minimal, maybe three super thinly sliced zucchini pieces, a mushroom and a half sliced up and sautéed and a few strips of bell pepper with hummus as the spread. My photo says it all. Burnt bagel and cream cheese. Barely any cream cheese. Came w a tiny side salad that had the worst dressing on it. Not edible but was already at my hotel & wasn't going to drive back. The bakery is the type of place where they have plastic food to show you what they sell. Definitely better places to be found on island. I give it 3 stars because they may have had an off day with me. But I'm on vacation and it's expensive so I won't be back. read more

I live a couple blocks from Pau Bakery. They have the most delicious veggie bagel. The empanadas are delicious too. The chicken is my favorite. The lemonade is perfect--not too tart and not too sweet. The only thing they need is more tables and better seats. Always busy for a good reason. Try the cinnamon rolls, the many empanadas, the breakfast croissant, and the unique tarts. It's all delicious. read more

We have been waiting to see what would happen to the space where the farmer's market and Mexican grocery store were. Today we discovered Pau bakery , their food is excellent, reasonably priced and made fresh daily. Tried several items, empanadas, three different types and their bread pudding, probably the best bread pudding we've had on the island. It's nice to see some new life on the Westside. Service is pretty quick, didn't need to wait too long for our order. Empanadas are REALLY GOOD! Lychee lemonade is ADDICTING! Cinnamon rolls are wonderful too! Will need to try some of the other desserts and items offered on the menu eventually. Waiting area and food display cases were really nicely put together, very aesthetically pleasing. read more

The store is nicely organized and clean. The staff are always nice and helpful. You can't go wrong getting some of these icon cookies for your friends and family back from Hawaii.

We took our family vacation early November and in doing so we planned to do an intimate gender cake reveal too. Finding a notable and highly rated baker in Maui was at the top of my list. Getting in touch with Ariele was a breeze. Her communication from start to finish was excellent. And her options of cake and icing flavors were never ending, wow! You have classic flavors like strawberry, chocolate, cookies & cream, etc. to tropical flavors which is what we gravitated towards. We got a simple white 3 layered 4" guava cake filled with lilikoi buttercream finished in vanilla buttercream. I provided a reference picture and the little details I wanted on the cake. Everything we asked is what we received with the exception of having pink & blue sprinkles along the base piping but I'm not going to ding Ariele for that because it still looked so cute!!! Cake was delicious. Highly recommend! P.S. we're having twin boys!

This was our favorite dinner spot and so excited to come back on our next trip to Maui. After having burrata here I won't be able to have it anywhere else haha. I recently had the pleasure of visiting the new bakery in our neighborhood, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! As soon as my daughter and I walked in, we were warmly greeted with a genuine "Aloha" that instantly made us feel at home. The atmosphere is inviting, and the delightful aroma of freshly baked goods fills the air, setting the stage for a wonderful culinary adventure. The selection of pastries, sandwiches, and smoothies is truly impressive. Everything looks so tempting that it was hard to choose! Thankfully, the friendly staff was incredibly helpful. They took the time to guide us through the menu, helping us select the perfect items for a delicious lunch. I totally recommend the hot pastrami sandwichas well as the bacon and egg bagel! It was mouth-wateringly good and definitely hit the spot. My daughter and I left with full stomachs and happy hearts. I'm not typically one to leave a negative review, but my recent visit here was uniquely disappointing. I had heard wonderful things about their sourdough and decided to stop in yesterday. The first impression was chaos. The line was long, which I expected, but the staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. After a 20-minute wait, I finally made it to the counter and ordered a loaf of the signature sourdough and a chocolate croissant. The sourdough I received was stone cold and incredibly dense--not the light, airy texture I anticipated from a bakery. It felt several days old, not fresh-baked. The croissant was even worse: stale and dry, with a stingy smear of filling that tasted more like cheap syrup than quality chocolate. I left feeling completely ripped off and genuinely confused by all the positive hype. I won't be returning. Save your money and find a better bakery elsewhere read more

Pau Bakery is a charming little spot right across from the beach -- the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem. Excellent baked goods and loved the sandwiches! Friendly service also. Their smoked salmon bagel was delicious as well as others. They serve Argentine pastries and we know what those take like and they taste well for that background. It may not be everyone's tastes but for us it hit the spot. Everything seemed very fresh and we did not have a line although we went later in the day. read more
