    Selfie at breakfast/brunch, Friday 1 December 2023.

Arriving at the Patty's Eggnest location in Edmonds tucked off of Highway 99 around 10:00 a.m. this morning, Friday 1 December 2023, I found the restaurant about a third to half full. I stood by the wait to be seated sign by the entrance and the hostess showed me to a two-top in the second room. Both rooms were decorated festively for the holidays. The table and seating was clean and I took my seat and looked over the menu. Looking for something to taste closer to my German ancestral roots, I opted for the 3 eggs breakfast with German bratwurst. The waitress was quick to take my order, very kind in our interactions, and the wait for my food was brief. The food was served hot with steam coming off some of the items. I went with country white bread for the toast, red potatoes with chopped vegetables, and three over easy eggs in addition to the two German bratwurst. The toast was moderate to thickly sliced with a thin layer of butter. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were tender and not oily. Firmness on the bratwurst and intense flavor made them the star of my plate. I also utilized some of the ketchup and salt and pepper for my meal. My beverage of choice was water. For payment, I received the check and sat uncertain of whether to wait and pay at a station in the room with the entrance or pay at the table. The waitress came back and said I could pay up front, so I went and paid my balance. My cash payment was accepted. Most of the tables had at least one person seated at them by the time I left. Parking was busy and part of a shared lot with a couple of nearby businesses.

We took a chance with the polarized reviews and we're really glad that we went to Patty's eggnest at this location. Everyone who served us or seated us was very nice. We had delicious coffee within minutes in cute mugs. I ordered senior egg scramble with cheese and bacon and my husband had the pancakes and eggs... He loved his breakfast. I enjoyed my eggs and the biscuit but was not a fan of the hashbrowns. I'm really not that big of a breakfast potato gal! We were extremely comfortable there and enjoyed the attentive service during our stop.

Mid week diner experience at local breakfast restaurant. No jukebox. Peppy, attentive server waited on us right away. Two orders of salmon. $12. Each. Mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. Good. Like being in Vera's back in 1970 in Ballard. Yah sure

Even nature loves the dinner here.

Came in for dinner with friends and was absolutely thrilled at the service. Debbie was awesome! She is so kind and focused on customer service! We saw their sign about being open for dinner and decided to give it a shot - if you're trying to call, their number isn't working, but they're open and the menu is huge! They had chilaquiles and also great dinner specials - if you're looking for a retro diner special experience, in a great way, this is the place! The decor is cute - very seasonal, typical breakfast place, but the service and extensive menu is what will keep us coming back.

I love this place! It took some time but it grew on me. I mean for dinner that is. Breakfast was usually great. They have great meals like lox scramble, an amazing clam chowder. My wife loves the British Breakfast and the mushroom burger. The staff a kind though busy. Night shift makes the best hash-browns.

Disgusting, grayish, biscuits and sausage gravy

This place is no longer decent or reliable and I dub thee Patty's Crapnest. I came here a couple of weeks ago craving my usual. Along with my usual (extra crispy hash browns, sunny side up eggs, sausage links), I decided to try something new, so I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy. Everything was normal until the food was brought to the table. The biscuits came out first and they were unattractive. The gravy had a strange white, almost translucent gray color to them with little bits of what appeared to be the sausage. Before I tasted it, I knew that they were not going to be good. When I sliced a piece of biscuit, it crumbled to pieces. I picked up what I could and ate it, instantly regretting doing so. Hard and stale biscuits coated in a cold, synthetic gravy which had absolutely no flavor. The "sausage" tasted like nothing. Not to mention the whole dish was cold. Please don't order this shit. It's not fit for a dog. Next, the sausage again. This time the links. I have been eating at this location for over a year now and get the same thing all the time. That day, the sausage links were unfamiliar to me. Instead of plump and juicy, they were dry and fried to complete crisp. They were crunchy and the air bubbles on the outside suggested that they were deep fried. They also tasted foul. They had a very unpleasant flavor. I couldn't eat them, so I asked the server if the cook could re-do the sausages. She took them back without saying a word and when she brought the sausages back, they were cooked exactly the same way they were before. Before the server left, I told her that these are not correct. She then began to argue with me and told me that, "this is the way they are cooked. They are always that way." I told her, "no they are not. I eat here all the time and the sausages are always good. These are burnt." Plus, this is the first time I have ever seen this server there. I was so upset that I couldn't eat so I got up to pay for food that I barely touched. When I got to the register and got rung up, I got even more upset seeing the price. 29 bucks for a bunch of inedible food. And I said just that. The server wanted me out and I could understand why. I was an upset customer and I voiced that to her. She told me, "you don't have to pay." I thanked her for comping my meal and apologized for being upset, but I also let her know that I won't be back. I'm sure the server didn't care, but I'm sure small businesses don't like to lose regular customers either. Still hungry, I left to find another place to get breakfast. Again, never eating here again, as their food has gone downhill and I'm not paying for it. 1 star because the server didn't make me pay.

A/C was running high as it was a super humid and hot Saturday. The restaurant is one big open space with large, comfortable booths lining the walls and a selection of tables in the center. This would suit large groups, too. There's a small outdoor patio area with umbrella covered seating. They had World Cup games on and decor to match. THE FOOD: We immediately had warm, thick tortilla chips and house made red salsa on the table. Salsa is on the spicier side, but was absolutely delicious. We had the Cadillac margarita (moderately strong and well mixed), tacos dorado with steak (fried and seasoned perfectly), and corn tacos with birria (melt-in-your-mouth and perfect temp). The bar is its own little mixology section and is very well stocked. SIDE NOTES: We were way too full for dessert, but there were several nice options that all looked and smelled amazing as they passed us. Can't wait to go back when we have emptier stomachs to try more!

It has been one of the biggest things missing for me. Until we found Bistro 76! We came here on a Saturday around 11:30 and it was pretty slow--we were seated immediately. I ordered the classic eggs benedict and my husband ordered the corned beef hash. Both were amazing! They came out perfectly seasoned and super fresh! We really enjoyed the food. We also felt the food was very fairly priced for the quality/amount you get. I also ordered a vanilla oat milk latte which was very tasty! The women working here were so friendly and they wanted to say hi to our baby and chat a bit. Really great service overall. We got the Cuban pork hash, ham hash (from the specials menu), corned beef hash, and breakfast burrito. The potatoes were unique because they were neither crispy but they weren't mushy either and very nicely fluffy inside. Also very well seasoned! The eggs were perfectly done and oozy, the hollandaise sauce was light, more so added for extra creaminess. I'm not usually the biggest fan of hollandaise sauce as I find it sometimes too heavy but this was less rich which was nice. The breakfast burrito was tasty, nice amount of filling. I enjoyed the cubes of ham and how it wasn't overly salty. Definitely eat with hot sauce and some black pepper. I think it would get a little mundane if you were to eat the whole thing yourself but it's not bad. The banana bread donut isn't really a donut. More so a banana bread Bundt cake. It was nice, slightly sweet with what tasted like whipped browned butter.

The food was tasty with generous portions--we definitely left with leftovers. Service was friendly, but the pacing was on the slower side. We were expecting a more casual, quick meal, but it felt closer to a fine dining wait. Hubby ordered the Cobb salad and enjoyed it. Daughter went with the Carnivore pizza with thin crust - you can choose thin or regular crust. I had the fish & chips--with tots instead of fries. Both the fish and tots were super crispy, just how I like them. The slaw had a nice tang, and the house-made tartar sauce was on point. I live maybe 1.5 miles away, so I just wanted to order online and not have to pay a service to deliver that to me...that didn't seem to be an option. So, I drive there and the hostess / only waitress tonight (who was actually very nice) said "oh, you could have just called in and we can take the order on the phone" (well, that would have been nice to list on the website, but whatever. Then, I placed my order (for only 2 people). Personal pizza, chicken ceasar and tots. The other was a burger and tots. Now mind you, there were only 3 other tables with people eating in the entire place. She told me it would only take 15 minutes to get my food, so I go back to my car to wait, then at the 15 minute mark it wasn't done...not even close. I ended up waiting a total of 40 minutes for my food! Whenever I've been here before the food is decent, and sure...I expect to wait a little bit when it's busy, but I think the cooks were more concerned about getting out on time than cooking food! I hardly ever post reviews because I feel like it doesn't really matter anyway...but this was just too terrible of an experience to not share. I guess I'll have to budget 30 minutes the next time I want to order something here!

Street parking only, but if you're open to a walk, downtown Edmonds tends to have ample parking around the area. When busy, they do provide a buzzer that has a short range, but opens up the opportunity of walking around slightly. Items can be a bit pricey, but they're also very filling. Large space, lots of chatter, and friendly service. Number Three Combo Club - we wanted waffles this time but also bacon and sausage. This was the variety pack we desired, though wish it came with both sausage and bacon! Opted for the bacon and it was thick, fatty, and delicious. One waffle cut into the four quadrants, ready to soak up syrup. Simple, but a classic. Chunky Monkey Pancakes - goofy perhaps, but another timeless classic combo of chocolate and bananas. Three chocolate chip pancakes, fluffy and ready to absorb the Nutella drizzle. Could have a few more chocolate chips embedded for a more balanced spread, but the chocolate drizzle helps spread flavor. Bananas for the healthy balance of course.

Hot Dogs in Cars, and Managers Named "Robert" : A Hate Story…read more I have been a regular patron of The Rusty Pelican since I moved to Washington, just shy of 5 years ago. I take visiting loved ones and friends here, and I constantly extol the service and food to anyone who needs a recommendation for a breakfast spot in Edmonds. NEVER. EVER. AGAIN. The manager, Robert, showed sickening behavior. My partner and I were having breakfast out in front, when we noticed that a fellow patron had left their dog in the car on the sidewalk in front of our table. It was 60 degrees out, and completely sunny. The windows were barely cracked, and the dog was panting and straining its neck towards the venting of the window. We called our waiter over, who was incredibly sympathetic and horrified. He went inside to find the customer. We waited a few minutes longer, and then asked a second server to follow up (they were equally horrified and sympathetic). The second server also did not return. My partner went inside to seek help. It was at this point that they encountered Robert. My partner came out a few minutes later and explained what was happening: he had been in the process of denigrating the employees feelings about the matter, telling them to stop bothering customers and (essentially) quit acting like babies. "This isn't Arizona!" he exclaimed. When my partner asked to speak with him and tell him the situation, he was horrendously rude and confrontational, escalating each polite rebuttal with an agitating escalation of rudeness and denigration. My partner calmly explained that in these conditions, a car's interior temperature can rise to above 80 degrees in well under 30 minutes, not including stifling humidity. These conditions can cause an animal to pass out and die within a similar timeframe. At this point, it had been well over 30 minutes since the patron had parked. During all of this, he refused to even address my partner or look them in the eyes. It was absolutely unacceptable, and ultimately embarrassing for a grown man in a PAID CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED POSITION to treat anyone like that. To be clear: the entire staff were incredible. They came out to check on the dog a few times, and tried their best to confront the owner of the dog, but a certain manager was preventing them. They also apologized profusely, and showed a grace that is exemplary and frequently unseen in today's world. We learned several good lessons today: 1. We should have just called animal control right off the bat. The owner isn't going to learn their lesson without legal intervention, or lethal endings. Thankfully they left after about 40 minutes, and the dog seemed to be conscious. 2. I am never going to eat here again, as long as Robert is employed. He should be left in a hot car out front to teach him some perspective. I wouldn't call animal control for him though. 3. I am going to spend the rest of my days around Edmonds telling anyone who will listen this story. To Robert, if you read this: I hope nothing but bad things happen to you forever, and your behavior is inexcusable. You do not deserve to be employed. To anyone above Robert in a position of management or ownership: fire him. Quickly, and unceremoniously. Do it in front of the kind employees, as a treat. They had a familiar air of exasperation with Robert's behavior, telling me this is normal. And under no circumstances should it ever be. Shame on you Robert.

My boyfriend got the build your own loco moco with the Hawaiian fried rice and katsu chicken while I got their Sunday only special, Hawaiian plate. The service here was very friendly and courteous, I feel like we could have been checked on more but other than the servers here were great! The music was chill island music which fit the interior and vibes. We were given our waters and waited a fair amount for our delicious and generous serving of food to arrive. My boyfriend said it wasn't the best loco moco he's had but he wants to give a try with the hamburger patty.
