I opted for the gold ceramic pads for $480 all-together. Communication and service was quick and efficient, and the repair took about 50 minutes. The owner was kind and agreed to do the service at an open area which was preferred. At the end, they let me drive around the lot for a bit to test out the new brakes. Additionally, I appreciate them for not probing at other car parts or insisting on buying more on top of the service I originally asked for. Everything went smoothly, thank you :D

This was first visit to CARS and they did not disappoint…read more Michelle the General Manager was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. I was a last-minute walk-in, 30 minutes before closing time, and she and her team made the time to take care of my car before closing. I discovered they specialize in bodywork, mechanical, restorations, classics, muscle cars, imports, etc. there's literally nothing they don't do well. I'm new to the area and I've had to tough time finding my new go-to local mechanic shop that rivals over-inflated dealer parts and labor prices. They're located in Salinas, and absolutely worth the trip.

I came to CARS recently after another shop told me my car needed a repair costing around $4,800…read more Before spending that kind of money, I wanted to understand exactly what was wrong with my car and why such an expensive repair was necessary. Unfortunately, the other shop gave me very few answers. I paid $305 for the diagnosis, but the report I received from the other shop was extremely basic. They also didn't give me a list of the parts that needed to be replaced, a breakdown of the labor costs, or much of an explanation of how they came to the conclusion that I needed a $4,800 repair. When I asked for more information, they were irritated with me and very dismissive. When I went to CARS, the experience was completely different. Michelle, the Office Manager, has been wonderful. She is extremely knowledgeable about automotive repairs, but more importantly, she knows how to explain things in a way that makes sense to someone who isn't a mechanic. She genuinely wants her customers to understand what's going on with their vehicle and feel comfortable with their options. I never felt rushed, talked down to, or pressured. At CARS, asking questions is welcomed, and you're treated with patience and respect. I'm extremely grateful to Michelle and CARS for their patience, kindness, and willingness to help. It's refreshing to find a repair shop that makes you feel like an informed and respected customer, rather than just another opportunity to make money!
