He could've denied my request upon learning that his truck wouldn't reach my car in the parking garage but he physically put my car in neutral and pushed it two stories down to his tow truck to hook it up. I currently live about 50 miles away from Salinas and have such trouble finding any nearby towing services within my town but this towing company was willing to go far distance in order to help. My driver Jose was quicker than other tow truck drivers are at arriving at a good time. He let us ride in his towtruck cab (he is fully vaccinated and so are we we, but we all still kept our masks on as an extra precaution.) If I could give Francisco from Salinas Valley Towing 100 stars I would! He's a life saver and went above and beyond to help us! My car got a flat tire on the top of Prewitt Ridge in Big Sur, which is an hour drive up a windy, paved road followed by a 5 mile bumpy, narrow, dirt road. We weren't able to change our own tire, because there was a unique key on the tire's lugnut and we were never given the key or notified about the unique locking system. We called my car's roadside assistance program, AAA, towing companies in the area, and tire companies who may have been willing to break the unique lugnut off the tire--not a single company was willing to go off-road to help us, except for Salinas Valley Towing. SVT also came from multiple hours away! He was willing to make the trek for us (twice) and we are forever grateful! The first day Francisco drove to help us, he bought a couple of unique tire keys that matched Subaru's tire keys (he chose them based on our tire specs), but these ones were just slightly off from our tire's requirements (there are over 100 keys for Subaru, so it must be hard to find the right one). He also drove his tow truck so he could tow us if we couldn't get the tire off. Unfortunately, the tow truck was too big for the unpaved road, so we told him we'd take the key and walk in to try it ourselves. After we walked in, he saw a car follow us and asked them if they could give us a ride to the campsite. Sadly, the key didn't work and we ended up having to get a ride down the mountain to get to a place with service the next day. Not only did he not charge me for the part (he was waiting for confirmation that he helped us), he texted me first thing in the morning to make sure we got out. We needed to go up the mountain again and try again, but my car company's road side service would not connect me with him at first and when they finally agreed to, they ended up dispatching the wrong towing company. Luckily, Francisco walked me through what I needed to do to get them to dispatch his company and he waited to take any other calls until our call came in so he wouldn't make us wait and could guarantee we were safe. He didn't feel right putting a new customer ahead of us until he could guarantee our safe exit from the mountain. That's amazing! He prioritized helping us and completing a job fully and that felt wonderful, especially when no other company would help us. The second day he helped us, he brought every tool he thought could possibly help and brought a smaller truck that could still tow us if necessary, but could also handle the road. He told us he wouldn't stop until he got us down the mountain. Once we made it back into the campsite, he was able to break the tire locks, change my tires, and follow us out to make sure we made it out safely. He also gave us a bunch of tips for what to do once we got down the mountain to ensure we made it safely home. He also did not charge us full price for the second day. Most companies would not offer that kind of financial assistance, but he cared more about our safety than getting every dime he could from us. Francisco was our hero this weekend and I would recommend his service to anyone who needs help, especially in tricky, scary places to drive. I could tell that his number one priority was providing great service and ensuring we got the help we needed as fast as he could provide it. No tricks, no overcharging, just honest and good help!
