Friday, February 24th, 2023, I was attempting to drive to work via Bear Creek Rd. Became stuck after a tree top broke off from the weight of the snow bringing down power and utility lines across my car. Subsequently causing my car to slide into an abandoned car. My insurance company was unsuccessful in finding any tow company to come out. In the mishap of the morning, a County vehicle was also stranded. Chaz Towing of Watsonville has a contract and they came to pull out the county truck. There were several stranded vehicles, mine included. Once the County truck was pulled out, they helped out, at no cost, the others. I've been a first responder for over 20 years and dealt with many towing services and hands down, Chaz Towing is the best!!!! Long over due review! On a camping trip last July (2022) with just myself and 5 minors in a truck that was borrowed. We are from Sacramento and the truck was broken down and I had it towed to our campsite (Sunset Beach) by a CHP recommended tow company. At the end of our stay I tried to get AAA to come get us as I am a member but they kept putting us off and it would have been dark by the time they came and cell service was spotty. Outstanding service from JD and the team! The alternator on my Turo rental car crapped out when I pulled to the side of the road about five miles south of Watsonville yesterday. The Turo help centre contacted Chaz towing and within 20 minutes, JD in his big yellow pick up truck was on the scene. He was friendly and helpful as we figured out what to do. As I was due to fly out of SFO that evening, I was going to leave the car in Watsonville and grab a rental, but he suggested a very good mechanic, so he took the car there. If you need a tow, call these guys. This is a family-owned and run business with clean, honest drivers who will completely go out of their way to help you. My car was ditched 25 feet off the road, and Kevin and his father drove out after dark, explained everything to me including potential damage, fees, etc., gave me a flashlight and offered for me to wait in the cab of their rig while pulling my car up to the road. My truck got stuck at the bottom of a dirt road and I called these guys to tow me out. Although the dispatcher made a mistake and sent the wrong kind of truck, Kevin (the tow truck guy) waited with me for over an hour, let me use his phone, and even drove me to get a sandwich! (since I hadnt eaten for many hours)! They didn't charge me for the time that the wrong truck was out there and I got to sit in a air-conditioned truck instead of sweating in a bush. Once Kevin's dad showed up, they helped me out of the dirt road and got me on my way. Eduardo came to tow me after midnight on a Saturday, but determined that with the condition of my truck and the placement in a small parking lot, it could not be moved (he was the second tow service my insurance had sent). He said I could possibly have it fixed where it was. It being a weekend I hadn't found anyone who could work on it in Santa Cruz. He assured me he'd call to see if someone he knew could come help.
