I will not go with any other Dentist other then Dr. Yoshikane . My wife has been coming here for years and I finally made the decision to come after getting bad work done at another dental office. I called Yoshikane's office one morning and spoke to Maria the office manager and told her my situation, she immediately checked to see if they can get me in that same day and thankfully she did. Dr. Yoshikane and his group of hygienist are amazing and great at what they do. Dr. Yoshikane was able to fix the horrible work done on my molar and there is no pain at all anymore . I felt my last dentist was over charging me, so I started looking for a new one. After reading the glowing reviews I decided to give Dr Yoshikane a shot. I am so happy to have found a Dentist that I like. I was coming home from his office this morning after a few visits into a root canal and crown, knowing that I was going to write these people a glowing review. After coming home, I was re-reading the last few reviews and thought, hey I could just copy and paste Iris-Bianca's review, cuz that was my experience too! Seriously! And don't even get me going on the cookies... So far Oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate Chip, and today a White Chocolate and something I couldn't identify but tasted awesome(!!) cookies! Dr. Yoshikane is probably one of the best dentists I've had, ever (and I've had a decent amount - I've seen at least 7 since my teeth started being a mess in high school, e.g. wisdom teeth removal, fillings, fillings repair, root canals, tooth implants, deep cleanings...). His office squeezed me in on Thursday after I'd called that morning with a terrible toothache (that I'd been frantically trying to schedule an appointment with any dentist in the OC area since Tuesday afternoon), which actually ended up not being a routine cavity filling breaking down, but a tooth infection that needed to be root canal'ed immediately, which they did, with a course of antibiotics, and also crowned. Three visits and a tooth cleaning later, my teeth (for now) are all set, and as dental work goes, it was probably as minimally painful and pleasant as the experience could be. They do all the small and large things right - the novocaine injections are painless, a blanket to keep you warm during long procedures, sunglasses so you don't blind your eyes staring into the dental light for two hours, thoroughly checking to make sure all the infected pulp is removed from inside your tooth during the root canal, actually measuring the pocket of your gums and letting you know where you might need to better focus on brushing, as well as making a routine cleaning as painless as possible, the list can go on but essentially, everyone in the office, not just Dr. Yoshikane, are great at what they do and super thoughtful and meticulous. And on top of that, the entire staff are friendly, funny, and all-around just great people to be be around. They call after large operations to make sure everything is feeling okay and better, text before your appointment for confirmation and as a reminder, their billing is straightforward, and treat you like a person, not just another appointment for the day to check off before they can go home. tl;dr Dr. Yoshikane is a great dentist, everyone in the office is awesome, and they're all super professional and make a dentist appointment something pleasant, rather than dreadful. I don't think I'll swap dentists while I'm in the OC area, because I doubt any office would actually be better, and would 100% recommend going to them as your dentist :) read more

The absolute best of the best. I have such a fear of the dentist. Have had a fear since a child. And because of dr Yoshikane and his incredible staff I feel so good about it now! Not only is this office so cute, with amazing homemade cookies/ chocolate/ coffee... the staff is something else. They are so personable, so sweet, and so helpful. Maria is incredible!! I received one of Power Up Film's Amazing Men in Showbiz awards last November and I was smiling from ear to ear the entire night. I'm usually standing behind the velvet ropes of a red carpet at splashy Hollywood events like this but on this night, there I was with a group of photographers taking my photo. I did not feel the least bit self-conscious and I have my amazing dentist, Patrick T. Yoshikane, to thank for that! Three months earlier, it would have been a different story. Instead of a broad smile, those photographers would have been met with the closed-mouth grin I had resorted to when I began to feel embarrassed about the condition of my teeth. I've always been excited to get a photo with people whose work I enjoy but I was getting less and less excited when I'd see our photos and compare their pearly whites to my dingy yellows. I needed some extensive dental work on my back teeth, work that had been delayed after three years without dental insurance. I made several trips from Silver Lake to Orange (an easy commute straight down I-5) until Dr. Yoshikane and his assistant, Cherry Limjoco, finished bridge work on both sides of my mouth. It was stellar. So good in fact that it made my front teeth, darkened as a child from taking the antibiotic tetracycline, look even worse. While I'll be paying off my bridges for years (superstar office manager Linda Schweers-Hunn is an absolute whiz at figuring out financing options and guiding you through them), Dr. Yoshikane wanted to give me a great smile and decided to make me his one gratis case a year for porcelain jacket crowns. I already knew from my previous work that it would be as comfortable an experience as dental work can be. I get a little anxious in the chair if a procedure goes more than an hour so I was put into a feel no pain zone with oral conscious sedation and didn't have a care in the world. There was minimal post-operative pain. I've had procedures where I'm sore for days and very uncomfortable and in some serious need of a pain killer. After each of my procedures with Dr. Yoshikane, at most I had a Motrin or two and suffered no ill side effects. it's now been more than six months with my new smile and it's better than the one I had in my 20s! What a tremendous psychological lift. I find myself smiling during conversations and in photos without the least bit of thought and I'll always be grateful to Dr. Yoshikane and his staff. read more

I was pretty nervous about my implant procedure, but he took his time to answer all of my questions before and after and was very gentle during my treatment. I felt absolutely no pain!! This was my first time going to see Dr. Yoshikane. I was recommended to him by one of my close friends and he is absolutely incredible! I went in last Monday as soon as they opened and by Thursday (the same week) they had my wisdom teeth out with ZERO complications! I came into this office from a referral from my wife. My previous visit to the dentist was terrible. They came at me with a bunch of work totaling over 10K. On top of that, they didn't even address the concern I went in for. Dr. Yoshi and his assistants totally gave me what I wanted: A solution to the problem I came in for, and a prioritized list of the other items that I need. I know I need a lot of work, but these guys gave me options and let me know which should come first, which makes it easy. I now have a new crown and it feels perfect. Just like it should be. I had my first dental examination appointment with dr. Yoshikane today. It was a routine cleaning and they took dental X-rays. I was refered to his practice by my friend Rick. Dr. Yoshikane's office was pleasant and professional in setting up my appointment. The dental cleaning and examination was thorough and efficient. At the conclusion of my appointment my expectations were certainly exceeded when dr. Yoshikane gave me a not only the standard toothpaste, dental floss, and toothbrush kit, but I also left with multiple types of hand sanitizers and a box of cookies. SUMMARY: Hands down, the BEST dentist I've ever had. BACKSTORY: First of all, starting my search for a good dentist was not easy. I needed A LOT of work done on my teeth. I needed implants, tooth extractions, root canals, bone grafts.. You name it. God has blessed with me a weak enamel, predisposed to cavities. I started my journey at Western Dental, which lead them to destroy one of my molars.. So I decided to on yelp, hoping to find someone who could help me do damage control on my teeth before I lose it all before hitting the age of 30. At this point, I did not care how much money I was to going to spend on my teeth, I just wanted to get them done right in the first place so I can move on with my life. Dentist after dentist, It was a long and gruesome journey. I did bump into a few good dentists, but common downfalls for most dentists: (1) they look at you like a pay check, not a patient (2) they don't understand that dental work is VERY expensive and ironing out those details with your patients BEFORE charging them thousands of dollars on dental work before devising a financial plan is preferred by most. (3) Dealing with dental staff who hate their jobs (4) Did not have a good dental hygienist on staff REVIEW ON DR. YOSHIKANE'S DENTAL OFFICE: But complain or look no further! Dr. Yoshikane AND his staff are the best around. I'll will keep you updated if I ever find someone better, but as of yet, no one comes close! Dr. Yoshikane makes your visit very personable. Even with all the patients he have, or how busy he gets, he and his staff always made sure I felt comfortable, and was doing okay every step of the way. Great thing is, they never pushed me to do things for an upsell. Dr. Yoshikane knows what he's doing. He is confident and thorough with his work and believes strongly in integrity. He has a very broad spectrum of knowledge in his field. When things got complicated, he didn't kick me to the curb and gave me a specialist that he recommends. It was a one stop shop. After my first comprehensive exam and x-rays, Maria (their office manager) sat down with me and devise a plan that I could afford, while optimizing my insurance coverage. Maria was very thorough when helping me understand my coverage and even explained the dental work that was recommended by the dentist. Also, even if you're not here for major dental work, their dental hygienist, Shirley, is the best dental hygienist around! My teeth never felt so clean after a general routing cleaning. Afterwards, Shirley even took the time educating me on ways to improve my teeth and gums. Everyone there treated me with respect and was very genuine and honest. I just finished the last of the major dental work today. I've been going to Dr. Yoshikane for several years now and I have yet to have a bad experience. Just recently, Dr. Yoshikane extracted two of my wisdom teeth. I was quite apprehensive about the procedure earlier this week, but prior to day of treatment, he assured me that I won't feel pain during the extractions. He gave me thorough instructions the day before so that the procedure would run smoothly. The fact that he took time out of his day before and after treatment to see how I am feeling and if I have any questions/concerns truly made me feel cared about. I am so appreciate of him for this. Before I left, he gave me injections to prevent post-operational swelling and pain. I recovered with very very minimal pain, and I could not be happier. For those who are fearful of injections, by the way, you will not feel his (I have a very low pain tolerance and hate injections)! He genuinely treats every single one of his patients with exceptional care. I cannot recommend Dr. Yoshikane enough! I also want to add that I was mostly fearful of developing a condition known as "dry socket" after my wisdom teeth were extracted- I had heard that it is extremely painful. With his care and instructions, I did not have to worry about it whatsoever. Thank you again Dr. for making the entire process very comfortable for me. read more

To start, even though Patrick Yoshikane's name is on the business, I want to speak for how great the entire staff is. Everyone you interact with from the moment you walk in until you leave is very friendly and willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have. But now shifting over to the actually dental work, they're top notch. Somehow they were able to give me the smile I always imagined. And they're so good, I'm sure it was just routine work for them. I didn't believe it would be possible, let alone be able to be done in such a short amount of time. What I also liked was that before they even scheduled an appointment to do the real dental work, they took the time to collect their own in house x-rays and start making a plan. But they went over that plan with me right then and there, explaining what they think needs to be done and why it needs to be done. There was complete transparency the entire time. They brought the x-rays up on a screen and showed me specific things that were problematic and what they were going to do about those things. It was really confidence inspiring to have them explain everything so clearly while showing you your actual x-rays. To summarize, whether you're just going in for a simple cleaning or full blown dental surgery, you're in the best hands. And you're going to be treated with kindness and professionalism every step of the way. They're so good that you might find yourself not even being anxious the night before your appointment. I had my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday by the wonderful Dr. Yoshikane. I have to say it was the best most relaxing dental experience I have ever had. Dr. Yoshikane and staff make you feel so comfortable they answer all your questions. I was sedated and the whole process was easy and I don't remember a thing. This Is a little late but , i was recommended by my sisters coworker to come here . Made my appointment right away I can tell they are so nice . Went in to my first appointment was really nervous I really don't like going to the dentist but right when I walk in they new my name they were so nice and welcoming made me feel a lot better . They i met Dr. Yoshikane such a nice doctor and with a good personality. Few days later came in to get my wisdom teeth pulled out like I said right of the bat they made me feel better they calm me down and made me feel comfortable white they but me to sleep which I totally recommend it's the best sleep I ever had didn't feel anything all went so smoothly. I am somewhat reluctant to admit I needed a root canal because I take really good care of my teeth! Apparently due to sever clinching of my teeth while I sleep I created trauma which then became infected! Ultimately Dr. Pat saved me!! I had a pretty sever infection and required an emergency root canal that was done to perfection. Nailed it within minutes to relieve the pressure and pain! Fantastic job! Yes...He is very talkative , and I was really annoyed with his brag and stupid talks over my mouth with his beauty staffs. At the time, some of the hygienists were doing also terrible jobs, sometimes my teeth were so much bleeding in my mouse and my cheeks were swollen (and bruise once) because of the infection during bleeding.. ..., If I said its hurt, then she stopped cleaning! and my teeth weren't clean enough... Very lazy.. I had to ask for re-cleaning again. One of my relative who I sent to yoshikane, now needs implants, because of yoshikane's jobs. The teeth became all very fragile and easy broken ... I cried.... I know dentists pursue "beauty" (just like his staffs and his office) but before that, dentists must focus on all people are different and their teeth's differences. If those reviews in Yelp were real, maybe yoshikane became better doctor now (just like his father) ... Somehow, I'm relieved to hear... I just didn't want his quiet patients to endure suffering like me and my family... read more

I have extensively researched several dentists and oral surgeons the last three months to help treat my TMJ issue. Because I am paying out-of-pocket for the majority of my treatments (TMJ, root canal, and wisdom tooth, cleaning), I wanted to make sure that I chose the best doctor that could provide the best services to treat my issues. From the first point-of-contact, the staff at Dr. Yoshikanes office had already gone above and beyond to provide excellent service. To better explain, let me just take you step-by-step and list all the little details that made my experience with Dr. Yoshikanes office extraordinary. 1). When I called to get an estimate for TMJ therapy, they said that it would be somewhat difficult to give a quote, so they recommended I come in for a *free* consultation. Now, at this point, I have already called (at least) a dozen oral surgeons within Orange County. No one has offered a free consultation so far, no one except Dr. Yoshikane. 2). So I make an appointment and once you make an appointment, they actually send you a friendly reminder the day of your appointment, via text message, regarding your appt. details. 3). On the day of the appointment, I was greeted by their office manager, Maria. Not only did she offer me coffee (they have a coffee machine in the waiting area), but she actually walked out of the reception area and made the coffee for me. Oh, and they have cookies, too. But not just any cookie, they have the good stuff- Otis Spunkmeyer. And double oh, they have bags to place your cookies in so you don't spill crumbs. 4). The reception area was immaculate. It didn't feel cold or clammy like a typical dental office. It was decorated with nice furnishings and a comfortable couch which added to the serene ambiance. I was actually bummed that they called my name. I brought my laptop so I could study and the chairs were so freaking comfortable, that I was hoping that they wouldn't call me for some time. They called me in less than 20-minutes after filling out my paperwork. 5). They call me in. Okay, let me start off by saying that I have a bit of an OCD complex. I recently visited another dental office in Irvine and declined service because the room they placed me in felt more like a storage room. They had two tanks, gloves, and medical supplies scattered throughout the room. There were contaminated tools sitting right next to my "sterile" tools. Dr. Yoshikanes office is nothing like that. I felt like I was walking into a staged home. You can actually see the vacuum lines on their carpet. The large window, which faces La Veta street, had no streaks or marks. This is, without a doubt, the cleanest medical office I have ever visited in my entire life. 6). So I finally get to meet Dr. Yoshikane. He introduces himself. You can tell right away that he is a genuinely nice guy. Maria told that his father was a dentist and that his two siblings are also dentist. Dentistry runs through his blood so it's safe to say that he knows what he is doing. We review my x-rays and he examines my jaw. He tells me that instead of going through TMJ therapy, I can just run the side of my cheek with hot water in the shower and then place a bag of cold ice on it it reduce the inflammation. He steps away and then comes back with a bag of ice. Amazing. He explains that once the pain has been alleviated, we can work on my wisdom teeth, root canal, and then see how my jaw pain is then. Side note: when I went to visit the other oral surgeon, he explained that I needed to get therapy done before starting the other treatments. Just the TMJ therapy alone would have ran roughly around $2500-$3000. Dr. Yoshikane tells me that isn't even necessary and I can try the hot water treatment first. Imagine that. I just saved $2500. Unbelievable. 7). As I proceed to gather my belongings, Maria was preparing paperwork with the breakdown of my treatments. She thoroughly explained all the different payment options that would be best for my situation. No one has done that for me so far- just Maria. In conclusion, this is undoubtedly the best dental office in Orange County. Free consultation, text message reminder, self-serve coffee machine, cookies, clean facility, serene environment, outstanding and honest doctor, friendly and competent staff, and the cookies (did I say that already?). read more

Personally, he is a very nice guy. As a dentist, Dr. Yoshikane and the whole place is a serious scam. They try to push every treatment possible, and sell you on it like a car dealership. They were adamant I was going to die without the fancy mouthguard. Then they told my wife she needed 9 crowns! And they were charging their prices and trying to sell her on $14,000 in work, 12K after insurance! After talking to a family dentist I learned about the major scam that dentistry is. She got a second opinion from another dentist, and they said there is only 1 crown needed and the rest are minor fillings. So there were some major savings! Beware they are VERY pushy on work, and even tried to seriously guilt trip her to getting it all done ASAP because we are trying to have a baby. read more
