This was my first time at Dr. Yoshikane's office. Although I generally feel anxious going to the dentist or any medical professional, this was refreshingly different. From the first time I called the office to make an appointment, my experience with Arlene and Jamile was very positive and reassuring. Both of them were kind, patient and professional. During the cleaning part of my appointment, Andrea was friendly, gentle and professional, and I appreciated the suggestions she gave me to improve my oral care. Andrea's cleaning was the best and most thorough cleaning I have ever had. I'm a new patient for Dr. Yoshikane and I needed to have my wisdom teeth roots removed which another dentist could not extract. Since my recovery with my previous dentist was not good, I was very nervous about having Dr. Yoshikane provide this oral surgery. Dr. Yoshikane was very thorough with explaining his approach and he delivered an experience and recovery that was exactly to plan. My previous oral surgery recovery was a month with a lot of pain due to dry socket. My recovery with Dr. Yoshikane was two weeks with no dry socket issues. I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth and Dr. Yoshikane, Myra, Arlene, and team took wonderful care of me. I had a 360 x-ray assessment to confirm surgery and they communicated expectations very well. Got the full breakdown of estimated costs and aftercare information with the office team before surgery day. Overall office staff are very professional and really take care of you. Surgery went well and they offered an eye mask and earplugs which made surgery more comfortable. My local pharmacy was low on pain meds that I needed and Dr. Yoshikane was available on the weekend to help get prescriptions go through to another pharmacy. Two weeks later I had complications with a sinus headache and the office staff helped with getting an appointment during a busy week, FYI I did take a 7AM slot because I wanted to get assessed ASAP. Two weeks ago I had a dental emergency on a Friday. His office was able to get me an appointment that evening, but with my work I wouldn't have been able to make it. However I was able to make an appointment on a Saturday where he was able to do an exam make a mold and start the process of getting partial(retainer with a false tooth). This was extensive as some of my teeth have been destroyed from chemotherapy. By Thursday the partial was made. He removed the four molars that had come apart, had to stich one due to a curved root. Very painless and continuously asking if I could feel anything. Partial was a perfect fit, and eating solid foods sooner than they said I should hold off. Gums completely healed 5 days after. This is a great dentist, whose interest is in the patients needs and their comfort. read more

Found this office completely random while frantically looking on yelp. Found others but they couldn't take me on such short notice and thankfully this office did. Walked through the door and immediately was greeted with by far the best heartwarming smiles from the staff I've ever experienced at a dentist. Shuck my hand with two hands and were ridiculously nice and down to earth. They immediately made me feel like family. I was offered the world it seemed and I know that sounds cheesy... however I am not kidding. Great tasting coffee, freshly baked cookies and juice. The place is like being at a high end hotel but with a truly down to earth kind of care that I was taken back by and it is so genuine. In my SGI buddhism practice I believe there are no coincidences, the universe brought me to the right place. Met with the doctor and had my consultation and may I say the place, staff, tools, equipment was high end and spotless and fresh. Truly a pleasure and immediately became friends with everyone. Came back a second time and got my teeth cleaned. Now just finished my third visit to get some fillings and I cannot tell you the amount of care and comfort the provided me. Dr. Yoshikane is outstanding at what he does and is down to earth and funny. Super nice with a flair of goofy ness which I greatly appreciate because it really takes the edge off of my anxiety from my terrible experiences in the past from my old dentists. This practice places profits before the well being of their clients. I have never felt so heartbroken and scammed from a dental office as I have from Patrick Yoshikane's dental practice. I'll start with the good before going into the bad. I really enjoyed talking to his dental technicians and office staff. For the most part, everyone was incredibly friendly and made a good effort to get to know me as a person. They even provide goodie bags for first time visitors (as shown in the picture I uploaded). However, as pleasant of a first experience I had, the bad significantly outweighed the good. Here's how my experience went from great to horrible: - I called Dr. Yoshikane's office to ask to see if they covered my insurance. I was told yes, they did. I provided them with my insurance information and booked my appointment. - Dr. Yoshikane requires new patients to make 2 visits. The first is an x-ray & a consultation. The 2nd is the actual cleaning. - During my consultation, Dr. Yoshikane pointed out a handful of issues. Some were cavities and another was a recommendation for a crown cap (almost like a crown molding). I was quoted an estimated amount of ~$200-300 out of pocket for the whole procedure. - I came in for the procedure and as I was ON THE CHAIR (already set up with my bib and everything) the billing administrator came and told me I was OUT OF NETWORK and that the procedure will be more anticipated - I was already on the chair and agreed. To my surprise, the end cost was $3,000+ I was so upset with myself that I didn't check more thoroughly, but I felt that this practice should have been more transparent about my insurance coverage. Either his staff is incredibly incompetent or their staff was aware of the situation and chose to "scam" their patient for additional funds. I had gone to their office a total of 3 times before I even found out I was out of network. Had I had gone to a dental office in network, I would have paid a fraction of the cost (Dr. Yoshikane's office also only does porcelain fillings which is more costly). I have learned that some dental offices are more about making a quick buck than being honest with potential clients. Because of Dr. Yoshikane, I will never trust that dentists think in the best interest of their patients ever again. read more

I have lived my whole adult life with debilitating migraines. When these migraines became active, they caused auras and intolerable headaches which led to blurry vision, dizziness, nausea and chronic energy-draining neck and shoulder pain. I literally had to isolate myself in a quiet, dark room to lay still and prevent myself from vomiting. Then, I was referred by a friend who had similar migraines, to Dr Yoshikane. At this point, I was open to try anything that wouldn't require drugs, with all of their side effects, for the rest of my life. With years of severe headache pain.. one may wonder about the possibility of having a brain tumor or neurological disorder. I was unsure if my teeth had anything to do with my migraines, but I had to give it a try. The drive to Dr Yoshikane's office to seek care was 40 miles one way...this clearly was beyond my personal comfort zone...but my migraine pain was unbearable and continued to steal precious time that I could have spent with my family. After explaining my symptoms, Dr Yoshikane thoroughly examined my teeth while immediately explaining the importance of bite balance..and pointed out the relationship of extended of health issues that TMJ dysfunction creates. One of the most interesting facts which Dr Yoshikane pointed out, was why my porcelain cracked off my crowns. Dr Yoshikane explained the relationship of uneven bite contacts causing my muscle overload, debilitating headaches and the extension of chronic body pain. He recommended an extensive bite equilibration through careful grinding of my teeth with the assistance of a computer pressure sensor. Honestly, I was apprehensive about teeth grinding, but it was painless and he and his assistant made sure I was comfortable and at ease. After the bite adjustment..what an amazing experience! All of my teeth touched...completely synchronized!!! All at the same time, without my jaw having to jockey around to find my bite-something I have had to deal with for decades and became an automatic, subconscious habit of mine. I didn't know that it could be corrected. No more biting the inside of my cheek when chewing! And the most amazing revelation-months later, I realized I hadn't had a migraine since that day. Dr Yoshikane is experienced in TMJ pain disorders...diagnosing, treating and quickly accessing the situation. In treating me, he was very professional, and he considers my best interests first! This team is the absolute worst. Yoshikane was recommended by Dr. Daniel Hsu, and this was a big mistake. After installation of a full set of implants and more than a dozen follow up appointments, the alignment is still not right and more than 6-8+ of the implants have broken as a result of the improper bite setup. Yoshikane and his team realized their inability to get the job done right and immediately went on the litigious defense. All the time and money spent drafting legal letters refusing to correct it the poor workmanship could have been spent working to make this right. Patrick is probably very competent for teeth cleaning and minor caps/crowns, but he is way out of his league doing full sets of implants and it CLEARLY shows. Bottom line is that no amount of friendliness or Ruth Chris gift cards can replace the lack of skill and ability to execute seamlessly. Patrick Yoshikane and his team are all talk and no action. I recently was involved in a Bike accident where I sustained many injuries, one of those injuries being my front teeth being knocked out. The offices knew my emergency & they were able to fit me in first thing in the morning to make sure I was okay & to fix my issue with my teeth. My injuries were painful, I was upset, hurt & in shock still from the trauma & they did everything they could to make me relaxed, comfortable & at ease. The staff even took time to go over billing options so that I would be able to make it work with my finances which really was amazing to see them go above and beyond to breakdown & explain everything vs most places that just send you home with forms. After meeting with Dr. Yoshikane he reassured me I was in good hands & they were going to help me..... & they did! I left feeling like a new person, able to smile again & feel this burden of depression and stress lifted from shoulders. Every moment spent there was great, each person from their staff was so attentive & caring & answered all my questions, helped me, & made me comfortable. Patrick is beyond an amazing dentist he takes his time and explains everything so that you can understand why you need a procedure. The whole experience is very comfortable which is kind of weird to say this going to the dentist but that's the best way to describe getting your teeth cleaned and fixed with Patrick. This is by far the best teeth cleaning I have ever had with almost no discomfort, that would be 90 percent less than another dentist. Sitting in the chair was very comfortable with an incredibly relaxing pad on the dentist chair. I really enjoyed the nice window view and also the ceiling had a very picturesque picture that was relaxing. The music was very relaxing the whole time I was there it's almost like I should have been getting massage. Pat is incredibly comprehensive giving you several options on the cosmetic dentistry with things you can wait on, things that are argent and just purely cosmetic options. This gave me a clear view to have more than just what a dentist would want but what I would want financially and physically. Dr Pat I was also incredibly patient kind and also had a great sense of humor that lightens the whole dentist feel right out to a friendly conversation.
