Dr. Loomis himself is wonderful and I am very happy with the few times I have gone in for cleaning. The one star (updated later to 3 stars, since they finally cancelled my appointment after 3 VMs and confirmed via text) is for the experiences I've had with the reception staff. They come off rude and impatient on the phone, are disorganized in terms of updating most recent address and phone numbers, and seem to be never around to pick up the phone or give you a call back. Really poor customer experience that should not be tolerated in the Irvine and OC area. read more

I have been coming to Dr. Loomis since 2008. He is the only dentist I will see as I trust him. He takes the time to explain your results/what's the plan to get your teeth in good health. He always makes sure that I am comfortable and feel safe. He is also my entire families dentist and we love coming here. He always remembers our family antics and history which makes him feel like a part of the fam. He also has a hilarious assistant named Bridgette. Rude starting from the first call. The lady on the other side asked for the insurance info and when she heard Cigna she immediately said that their system is down for already 4 days and she cannot set an appointment and that they don't accept Cigna anymore and maybe it's a good idea for me to establish a process with another dentist?! Despite the fact that I already signed up for this office. Well, of course after this call I won't go there. Very bitter aftertaste after the call. Writing this review in response to the poor receptionist behavior. She messed up with my appointment and when I called several times to confirm my appointment she said my appointment was at a different time which she was wrong since I have it on my calendar. Even though she gave me a wrong time I still asked her to reschedule my appointment and she said no and hanged up on me! Really? Dr Robert, I have known you for over 12 years and is this a treatment I get from your receptionist? Well, it's been over three months since we first started here, I have referred multiple friends and co-workers and I can say the rating stands! Both sons have been in here as have I (repeatedly, sadly due to waiting too long before finding Dr. Loomis). The staff is fantastic and Dr. Loomis is truly a GREAT dentist. He explains everything, really works to do what's best for your teeth vs. his own bottom line. All staff (hygienist, RDAs, front office) are excellent, personable and genuinely passionate about what they do. They honor your time and are flexible and willing to stay late if you come in with an emergency. If you have had that experience with a dentist concerned only with production and upselling, you will feel refreshed after coming here. He is happy to offer you any option, but does not "upsell" or assume you will choose the most expensive option. They also really check out your insurance and work within what the insurance authorizes. All ages - I would recommend Dr. Loomis without question! read more

How many people can actually say that they love their dentist and don't dread going? I became one of those people when I started going to Dr. Loomis. Even after moving out of Orange County and up to LA, I'll still drive the 50+ miles to his office for my check-ups and other teeth work. The office is super clean, with high-tech equipment and TVs at every check-up chair. All the staff is very friendly, and Dr. Loomis knows all his clients personally and values their patronage. They're really flexible with scheduling, and are even open on Saturdays, which is a big help to me. Often people worry that their dentists are trying to upsell them or telling them they need work when they don't - I've never felt that way with Dr. Loomis. Will continue coming back (unless I move further away) and would recommend him to anyone. read more

Dr. Loomis is a professional with a lot of patience. I went in after a friend recommended me to go and I am glad I did. I had to get some work done and Dr. Loomis explained everything and was honest with me about all the procedures. He offered phenomenal service and was very personable at the same time. His office was also very professional and kind. When I arrived they greeted me and made me feel welcomed. They offered to grab me some coffee or anything else, that was a nice gesture. I have never been so disappointed. I went in to get a regular cleaning and was tricked into a deep cleaning. Paid 560 dollars and then they said my insurance wouldn't cover it and charged me 383 more dollars. Months after the fact. I was shot up 3 times each time to numb my teeth which is not normal and my cavities never hurt and now my fillings hurt so bad when I eat. Even months after. I will never go here again and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Never got past his front staff. My mother uses medicare and they are listed as a medicare provider. First time I called they said she was not on the Roster. We called AARP and they faxed them that she was covered. We called again to make an appointment and they said that she was still not on the Roster and that the FAX said that she would have to wait a month until the new Roster came out. They are like a bad record. They keep repeating "Not on the Roster" or "It is not our office policy" or "We have been burned before"... Seriously? How much more work would it have been to call the insurance provider to confirm? They just do not want the business. I can not rate the doctor since we never got to see him but from his front desk staff I would NOT recommend him. We went to Orange County Dental and they had no trouble at all working with us.. read more

I moved to Irvine recently and had to find a new dentist. It has been quite some time since I've seen one. I was dreading what I was going to need. Knowing me, it would be a bunch of cavities. I was recommended to Dr. Loomis by a good friend. I know how difficult it is to find a good medical doctor, dentist, hairstylist, and nail person lol and when you do, you follow them and hope they never move or retire! I am very particular and pay close attention to detail. I've been to many different dentists as a child because I had no choice, only to get traumatized. Dr. Loomis is amazing. I don't have the best teeth - they look good, but they don't always cooperate - been through route canals, replacing crowns, etc, but ever since going to Dr. Loomis my teeth are finally in good shape! He is extremely gentle. He takes the time to make sure I'm not in any pain while doing a procedure & I can appreciate that since past experiences with other dentists have not always been the same level of care. He does beautiful crowns and I've never had a problem post procedure. Let's face it going to the dentist can be stressful, but Dr. Loomis goes above and beyond to make me feel comfortable whenever I'm in his chair. He's even come in during off hours when I needed it. I'm glad to say I'm on a maintenance cleaning plan now, and his hygienist does great cleanings too. I don't trust many people with my teeth but Dr. Loomis has exceeded my expectations.
