After many consultations with other cosmetic dentists in the area, I chose Dr. Scott Rice for my gum contour procedure. I've been going back and forth between veneers, gum contouring or both and Dr. Scott Rice was able to explain pros and cons to both options without being pushy. My teeth and mouth were perfectly fine and healthy. I've had braces twice in my life, so they were already straight and aligned as well. Many of the other dentists I had gone to were trying to sell me on a full set of veneers, but I wanted to keep my natural smile/teeth but just achieve a more improved look with less gum when I smiled and an even gum line. That's exactly what I got and I'm so happy I found him because I decided to switch over to them as my regular dentist now. Their service, professionalism and expertise is so worth it! The fresh baked cookies don't hurt either Lol! It smells amazing in there everytime! The thing is there are many well trained, knowledgeable doctors out there who can give you what you want, but the ethics and moral character are hard to find. He was more focused on what I wanted, what made me happy than achieving the perfect smile (unless that's what I wanted of course). Your smile is an investment and at the end of the day you're the one paying. You want to be sure it's the look you want and are happy with it and also find a dentist who can provide their expertise, knowledge and opinion without feeling like their trying to sell you on the most expensive procedures. He kept my well-being at the forefront and I can't ask for anything more. He made me feel safe and heard and that's what won me over. Dr. Scott Rice actually cares and listened. I trust him with my care. He's a rare gem! During the procedure, I was involved every step of the way. Asking for my opinion, telling me what they were doing, asking if I was okay. Answered all of my questions. Healing was pretty fast, no complications. I had gum contour and composite veneers done. If it's not already obvious, I highly recommend coming to Rice dentistry for all your dental needs. I'm beyond happy with them and will continue to come back and recommend them to anyone asking. I have been a patient of Dr. Rice for many years. While I don't need to visit frequently, I've noticed a disappointing shift in the quality of care and overall approach at this practice. What was once a professional and patient-focused experience now feels increasingly driven by profit rather than genuine care. Each time I inquire about a service or come in for a routine check-up, I'm met with a level of pushiness that feels unnecessary. For instance, x-rays are now required at nearly every visit, even when there's no clear medical justification or when a patient specifically requests to decline them. This disregard for patient preference is concerning and feels inconsistent with patient-centered care. Additionally, appointments are tightly time-blocked, and if the scheduled time runs out before the service is completed, patients are asked to return for additional visits -- often resulting in higher costs. Speaking of costs, fees have also increased significantly, which adds to the sense that the practice prioritizes revenue over relationships. I used to have great respect for this office, but unfortunately, the experience has become transactional rather than compassionate. I've been a patient at Rice Dentistry for a little over a year now- the experience has been great. I have a lot of dental anxiety, and they help me work through this and get the care that I need. This review is long overdue. Very thankful I found this practice! When I relocated to this area many years ago, I had a horrible experience elsewhere. That dentist botched 2 procedures on me and I needed to find a dentist that actually knows what they're doing. Since I worked in dental product manufacturing at the time, I asked our business team for the name of a good dentist. I was referred to Dr. Scott Rice. Even though he's not covered in-network for my insurance, I made an appointment anyway and, well, I've been a patient here for the last 15 years! Every procedure I've had here has been done right the first time. I find all levels of staff to be professional, appointments always run on time (that's rare!), and the whole operation runs like a well oiled machine. Dr. Rice is good at what he does and gives an honest perspective of my treatment plan - explaining what needs to be done, what should be done now and what should be done but doesn't need to be done yet, and what to expect if something isn't done. I never feel pressured here and Dr. Rice has always been knowledgeable, thorough, and remains present during my exams without rushing me. Just an all around nice person! I can't say enough good things about Dr Rice and his son Dr. Rice. I have had perosnal work dome and loved the professionalism so much, I brought my mom in for her 3rd set of dentures in 3 years. Yes, that's one set a year. She didn't want to go at first as her past attempts to get a comfortable set of dentures has been a complete fail. Well, it's been about 5 months since she has her new smile and she couldn't be happier! The teeth, to this day, give her little to no discomfort. I highly recommend this dentist and his staff. Everyone is friendly and professional. They have a full on snack bar while you wait. Oh, that's another thing, with all our appointments, we have never had to wait for more than 5 mins to get into the doc's chair. They keep a tight schedule and don't waste your time! 1/30/14: I will say, I never thought I would give a dentist a 5 star rating, in my life. I am so petrified of dentists offices, I will come up with ANY excuse not to go. And I mean, ANY! I generally end up in a dentists office because I have been forced by horrible pain somewhere in my mouth. I was referred to Dr Rice and was told I would love his office and the way they do business... and I did. I have extensive work that needs to be done. I probably have an issue with almost every tooth in my mouth. The most important right is a root canal I had done a year and a half ago. I never had a temporary put on and of course never got the crown. I am very thankful that post has lasted this long. Dr Rice is the 4th dentist I have seen in the last two years. The first wanted to remove all of my teeth. NEXT. The second was great but ended up referring me out for almost everything I needed done at the time and then was forced to medically retire. The third, who took his place, never got back to me with a treatment plan, despite many phone calls I had to make to him. My first visit with Dr Rice was very smooth, I was actually very comfortable. I was taken into an office first, to discuss my concerns and what I was there for. After, everything was explained to Dr Rice, and then I had Xrays done. Dr Rice came in and discussed each tooth with me, and what needed to be done. Without even having to ask, I was given a treatment plan that same day. With pricing. Thats exactly what I wanted from the last dentist and could not get. They broke my work down into 5 Phases. It is a LOT of work, and a LOT of money, but it has to be done. I have scheduled the first two phases already and will do the third and fourth after that. Phase 5 I will wait until 2015 most likely. I am so thankful they gave me everything I wanted, right there in the office, so I didnt have to wait, and had no question of what everything will cost. I am looking forward to getting my mouth fixed and maintained in the very near future, and definitely recommend this office for anyone who is fearful of dentists. They will take care of you :) 2/4/14: I had my first cleaning this morning and it was GREAT! I went in feeling comfortable, and relaxed, which again - has never happened for me at a dentists office. They offer you spa gloves for your hands, and they clean your rings that you remove while enjoying the gloves. It was so nice! I have REALLY sensitive teeth so the hygienist applied a gel to numb my gums so it was less painful. No shots, no lasting effects, just temporary numbness to help the cleaning. I am so impressed with this entire dentists office. My next appointment is in a couple of weeks and my next four appointments will be big ones, with a LOT of work done each time, and I dont even have any anxiety about it! read more

I have no issues with my dental work and I love the results! I am someone who is very picky & would rather spend more to get a great result. Not only will you get great looking teeth but surprisingly Dr Rice offers very AFFORDABLE PRICES! I went to 3 other periodontists that wanted to charge me over $500 of what I was charged at Dr. Rices dental office and those other doctors only saw me for just a few minutes. In addition, not every periodontist performs gum and bonding work so that was another reason I wanted to have Dr. Rice as I didn't want 2 different doctors and 2 different appointments for the cosmetic work I wanted done. I came to this office after reading the great reviews to get a second opinion on whether to do grafting for receding gums/bone loss. I was bummed not to get Dr. Rice but I hoped his colleague would be just as good as I heard Dr. Rice was. This office is so nice and the staff is super friendly! One office said I need to graft four of my teeth and the second opinion said I needed six. I was unsure what to do, so I got a third opinion from a board certified periodontist who said I shouldn't do it at all (hygienist in my dentist office had also said this) and that he couldn't recommend the work with a clear conscience since he didn't believe it would get worse if I kept my teeth as clean as they are. Please do your research before any procedures that might be unnecessary. I almost spent about $5k out of pocket (they didn't think it would be covered by my insurance even though the other office said $3k would) for something that wasn't necessary. Update... It's been almost 3 years since I had my first visit. Since then, I had the 6 Month Smiles treatment. I went through just over 6 months of having braces. Yes, I said braces. I was in my 30's when I got them on for a second time. (The old story of, "I had them when I was a kid and didn't wear my retainers"). The process was easy and mostly painless. I then whitened my teeth, had some gum reshaping, bonding on a few teeth and a bit of cosmetic filing. I first saw Dr. Taylor Rice for a consultation about tooth root exposure. I was interested in the BioClear method to address my concern that has caused black triangles. Dr. Rice explained the procedure in detail and the expected results. The BioClear method was performed on four lower front teeth that addressed all of my concerns with excellent results. This is an update to reinforce my first review from 6 years ago (read it, it still stands true). I had a second crown put in and a new filling today. Dr. Scott Rice did both procedures in less than an hour (it started promptly on my appointment time - no wait) and it was again a great success and as painless and could be. Dr. Rice is phenomenal: he does a superb job (dentistry is a bit of an art) and deeply cares for his patient (you can feel it). The office is high-tech and clean with a great atmosphere.
