    Mind = blown! I've never met a dentist that was more excited to meet me? The whole staff treats you like FAMILY! What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, free cookies! It's a trick so you'll get cavities and come back (joking). Jokes aside, the teeth cleaning process is super thorough and accommodating! I usually hate the dentist cause my jaw locks out and when they heard, they made sure to take every precaution to make me feel comfortable! They were also super transparent on the procedure, costs associated, etc. could not have asked for a better office for my dental needs!

    This practice places profits before the well being of their clients. I have never felt so heartbroken and scammed from a dental office as I have from Patrick Yoshikane's dental practice. I'll start with the good before going into the bad. I really enjoyed talking to his dental technicians and office staff. For the most part, everyone was incredibly friendly and made a good effort to get to know me as a person. They even provide goodie bags for first time visitors (as shown in the picture I uploaded). However, as pleasant of a first experience I had, the bad significantly outweighed the good. Here's how my experience went from great to horrible: - I called Dr. Yoshikane's office to ask to see if they covered my insurance. I was told yes, they did. I provided them with my insurance information and booked my appointment. - Dr. Yoshikane requires new patients to make 2 visits. The first is an x-ray & a consultation. The 2nd is the actual cleaning. - During my consultation, Dr. Yoshikane pointed out a handful of issues. Some were cavities and another was a recommendation for a crown cap (almost like a crown molding). I was quoted an estimated amount of ~$200-300 out of pocket for the whole procedure. - I came in for the procedure and as I was ON THE CHAIR (already set up with my bib and everything) the billing administrator came and told me I was OUT OF NETWORK and that the procedure will be more anticipated - I was already on the chair and agreed. To my surprise, the end cost was $3,000+ I was so upset with myself that I didn't check more thoroughly, but I felt that this practice should have been more transparent about my insurance coverage. Either his staff is incredibly incompetent or their staff was aware of the situation and chose to "scam" their patient for additional funds. I had gone to their office a total of 3 times before I even found out I was out of network. Had I had gone to a dental office in network, I would have paid a fraction of the cost (Dr. Yoshikane's office also only does porcelain fillings which is more costly). I have learned that some dental offices are more about making a quick buck than being honest with potential clients. Because of Dr. Yoshikane, I will never trust that dentists think in the best interest of their patients ever again.

    We had such a great experience at Hoover Oral Surgery…read more Dr. Coon was amazing. He was very professional, caring, and responsive to any concerns. Our son was anxious about having his wisdom teeth extracted, but the staff and surgeon put our son at ease.     I am extremely disappointed with the experience I've had with the office coordinator, Dawn-Marie,…read moreat Hoover Oral Surgery in Santa Ana. To be clear, the oral surgeons themselves--Dr. Caroline and Dr. Hoover--were excellent. They were attentive, skilled, and professional throughout my care. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for their front office coordination. I recently tried to replace a cracked retainer (top and bottom) that I've worn consistently since my corrective jaw surgery. What should have been a straightforward process turned into a frustrating and confusing situation due to repeated miscommunication. I was initially told to wait until I could provide dental insurance before scheduling, which delayed my visit unnecessarily--only to find out later that the office didn't even request that information when I came in. Then, despite clearly explaining multiple times that I needed a full top and bottom retainer, I was told one was ready for pickup. After driving 40 minutes, I was given another night guard--the same one I already have and did not need. Dr. Hoover personally acknowledged the mistake and confirmed that the correct retainer would be made and mailed to me. I paid what I was told was the full amount for the proper retainer. However, I then received a call from Dawn-Marie stating I owed an additional $155, contradicting everything I had previously been told by both her and the front desk staff. During that call, Dawn-Marie was dismissive, spoke over me, and laughed at me multiple times while I was trying to explain the situation. At one point, she questioned why I didn't go through my orthodontist and laughed when I explained my confusion. This was unprofessional and disrespectful. Overall, the lack of communication between the coordinator, staff, and doctors has been extremely frustrating. I'm still waiting for a resolution while concerned about my teeth shifting due to not having the correct retainer. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and coordination from a medical office. Unfortunately, this experience has been anything but that.
