Hello. My sons have defended me for some time. I appreciate their help. I have decided to post my experience. Yoshikane is a very confident dentist. His front desk is rude. But they offered a "Ruth's Chris" gift card for any inconvenience. At first glance, so nice. But in the end we realized that the scope of work was beyond his competency. If we get down to the nitty gritty, we paid over $20,000 for my teeth. Those teeth have cracked, chipped and broken over the course of the last 5 years. I have now spent over 5000 fixing work that Yoshikane's office screwed up. I travel a lot. His office wanted to penalize me for this. In Irvine, we pay a premium for any dental work needed. Yoshikane is good for fillings and cleanings. Bu DO NOT CONTRACT Him for anything more than that. He is not competent in the denture, teeth replacement or dental surgery world. I have extensively researched several dentists and oral surgeons the last three months to help treat my TMJ issue. Because I am paying out-of-pocket for the majority of my treatments (TMJ, root canal, and wisdom tooth, cleaning), I wanted to make sure that I chose the best doctor that could provide the best services to treat my issues. From the first point-of-contact, the staff at Dr. Yoshikanes office had already gone above and beyond to provide excellent service. To better explain, let me just take you step-by-step and list all the little details that made my experience with Dr. Yoshikanes office extraordinary. 1). When I called to get an estimate for TMJ therapy, they said that it would be somewhat difficult to give a quote, so they recommended I come in for a *free* consultation. Now, at this point, I have already called (at least) a dozen oral surgeons within Orange County. No one has offered a free consultation so far, no one except Dr. Yoshikane. 2). So I make an appointment and once you make an appointment, they actually send you a friendly reminder the day of your appointment, via text message, regarding your appt. details. 3). On the day of the appointment, I was greeted by their office manager, Maria. Not only did she offer me coffee (they have a coffee machine in the waiting area), but she actually walked out of the reception area and made the coffee for me. Oh, and they have cookies, too. But not just any cookie, they have the good stuff- Otis Spunkmeyer. And double oh, they have bags to place your cookies in so you don't spill crumbs. 4). The reception area was immaculate. It didn't feel cold or clammy like a typical dental office. It was decorated with nice furnishings and a comfortable couch which added to the serene ambiance. I was actually bummed that they called my name. I brought my laptop so I could study and the chairs were so freaking comfortable, that I was hoping that they wouldn't call me for some time. They called me in less than 20-minutes after filling out my paperwork. 5). They call me in. Okay, let me start off by saying that I have a bit of an OCD complex. I recently visited another dental office in Irvine and declined service because the room they placed me in felt more like a storage room. They had two tanks, gloves, and medical supplies scattered throughout the room. There were contaminated tools sitting right next to my "sterile" tools. Dr. Yoshikanes office is nothing like that. I felt like I was walking into a staged home. You can actually see the vacuum lines on their carpet. The large window, which faces La Veta street, had no streaks or marks. This is, without a doubt, the cleanest medical office I have ever visited in my entire life. 6). So I finally get to meet Dr. Yoshikane. He introduces himself. You can tell right away that he is a genuinely nice guy. Maria told that his father was a dentist and that his two siblings are also dentist. Dentistry runs through his blood so it's safe to say that he knows what he is doing. We review my x-rays and he examines my jaw. He tells me that instead of going through TMJ therapy, I can just run the side of my cheek with hot water in the shower and then place a bag of cold ice on it it reduce the inflammation. He steps away and then comes back with a bag of ice. Amazing. He explains that once the pain has been alleviated, we can work on my wisdom teeth, root canal, and then see how my jaw pain is then. Side note: when I went to visit the other oral surgeon, he explained that I needed to get therapy done before starting the other treatments. Just the TMJ therapy alone would have ran roughly around $2500-$3000. Dr. Yoshikane tells me that isn't even necessary and I can try the hot water treatment first. Imagine that. I just saved $2500. Unbelievable. 7). As I proceed to gather my belongings, Maria was preparing paperwork with the breakdown of my treatments. She thoroughly explained all the different payment options that would be best for my situation. No one has done that for me so far- just Maria. In conclusion, this is undoubtedly the best dental office in Orange County. Free consultation, text message reminder, self-serve coffee machine, cookies, clean facility, serene environment, outstanding and honest doctor, friendly and competent staff, and the cookies (did I say that already?). read more

I had my wisdom teeth removed with Dr. yoshikane and I could not have asked for a more patient, educated and understanding doctor. A lot of doctors tend to forget that we are human and not just a chart to be filed away. Not Dr. Yoshikane! He listened to everything I had to say and would follow through with everything he said he would do. I tend to have a lot of questions, he answered all of them. I had a crown placed on my molar just over one year ago, but it fell out this morning while I was eating breakfast. The quality of the work is very sub-par as most of the work is done by his dental assistant. The doctor would only check the completed work done by his dental assistant and make some minor adjustments on the bite, something he should reconsider and do the work himself. As far as the lady in the front, she tries to up-sell a lot of unnecessary dental work and always gives wrong quotes. When she quotes the prices before any work is done, it never ends up being the quoted price, its always off by a few hundred dollars. This office is extremely unprofessional and unethical. I am writing this review on behalf of my wife. She started to feel some tooth pain last night and by 5 this morning, she was nearly in tears. At 8 am, she went to her dentist in Mission Viejo and it was a clear diagnosis, she needed a root canal on her back molar. She was referred to a local endodontist who was ready to do the work but because we are a cash patient, they ended up pricing the procedure way out of the ballpark. Dr. Yoshikane has got to be the best dentist in the OC. He and Shirley are both perfectionists, which is the best possible quality you could want your dental professionals to have. You feel right at home as soon as you walk into the office. I'm typically a chicken when it comes to dental visits but I actually look forward to them now. During my first visit- and just by feeling my jaw, he was able to ascertain that I grind my teeth at night and that my bite was off. All true. Well it has been less than 24 hours since I had my dental procedure, I would have probably waited a week before writing this review but my recovery has been excellent so I can review my treatment and experience with Dr Yoshikane and his team right away. I called Dr Yoshikane's office in early January and got some estimated prices for extracting the remaining 3 of my wisdom teeth. Leslie, Maria, and Blanca were all very professional and seem like the ideal people you would want to see working at a dental office. When I went in for my X-rays and CT scan. Dr. insisted there was a few other concerns he had regarding Tooth number 2, 3, and 31. I agreed because they have had work on them before( root canals and several fillings on the other). Maria set up the total estimate of the work I needed. I couldn't afford doing all the work so I left out tooth#31. They scheduled my surgery for a Saturday morning because I told them I can't get days off during the week. That was great, because it leaves me with ample recovery time before Monday comes around. Big procedure in my opinion, total cost was approximately $7600. That included xrays, CT scan, 3 wisdom extractions( 1 impacted), 1 root canal redone, 1 deep cavity, 2 crowns, and I also opted for Platelet Rich Fibrin for the empty spaces after extracting my wisdom teeth. If you haven't heard of Platelet Rich Fibrin, its similar to bone grafting but a bit more advanced and not too many Dentist have this technology on site(helps recovery time, regenerate tissue, and support jaw structure). Yes it is expensive but the fact that I have recovered in less than 24 hours is amazing. The procedure went very smooth, I was told I should be escorted there because I had to take medication the night before. But I was totally fine so I took myself an Uber. They sedated me with some more meds and began the work. I woke up sometime in the middle of the procedure, there were two wisdom teeth left to be extracted at that point. I was a bit sedated so I asked a few silly questions about if they were putting in the PRF or not. Then I fell back asleep for a bit. Woke up, didn't feel bothered or in pain at all. 4 and a half hour operation and I cant complain how well it went. Buddy picked me up and dropped me off at home where I drank some Naked Juice and Clam chowder, fell back asleep for about 4 hours and when I woke up I felt like eating KFC, drove myself there and picked up mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, cole slaw, and some chicken but I had to be careful eating the chicken. I haven't even been taking the pain killers that were prescribed. I am not in pain AT ALL. You know what that means right? The Dr. Yoshikane is a pro. I will be going back to their office day after tomorrow to get my post surgery follow up done and get my crown measurements. All in all, the procedure went WAY better than I thought it would, Conscious Sedation is actually awesome compared to getting completely knocked out. FYI, there is a risk of Nerve damage when removing your lower wisdom teeth, I was a little worried about that yesterday because even at midnight my tongue, cheeks, and lips were still numb. But when I woke up this morning, it was gone! All things considered, I give Dr. Yoshikane, his staff, and practice a very high rating. Quality and service is above average, cost is a little high but you get what you pay for. You WILL NOT find this kind of quality and service at most dental offices. PS: Shout out to the nurse who helped Dr Yoshikane during my procedure. I didn't catch your name but you were great! read more

I found these folks after a little online research and called at 7:00 AM after they opened. They told me to come in right away and they would work me into the schedule. I really didn't like to smile much. I had a cap on my front tooth and the post underneath was black and my prior dentist didn't clean it up so you were able to see it through the cap Dr. Yoshikane was able to clean up the post and made a cap that looks so real that you cannot tell it is fake. From my experience this man will not let you walk out of his office unless he is happy with his work and you're happy. I've been having pain from my wisdom teeth for a while now. I haven't seen a dentist for years and I wasn't sure who to go to. I did extensive research and looked at ​over 50 dentistries in Orange County. I was specifically looking for a dentistry that offered oral surgery as well as ​basic dentistry work. I was looking through the reviews and compared them​ to all the other high reviewed dentist offices. I decided to give them a chance. Upon my first visit, the staff and Dr. Yoshikane were very kind and friendly. They offered me a goodie bag with a variety of supplies and cookies (probably the best cookies I've ever tried). A couple of​ days after my wisdom teeth removal, I was feeling a strong pain in my mouth and the office was closed, so I couldn't go in. I told Dr. Yoshikane about the pain and he personally drove all the way to the office, so he could numb my mouth. He truly cares for his patients and goes above and beyond.
