Amazing! Better indian food than we found in the US and a wonderful break from the mass produced AI food. Everything was 10/10.

We love Indian food and live in the Bay Area, so we've been to a lot of Indian restaurants over the years. This is definitely one of the best we've had and easily one of our top spots now. The restaurant is located upstairs in the plaza and has a nice atmosphere. We ordered the veggie samosas, chicken 65, butter chicken, saag paneer, and garlic naan. Everything was outstanding. The meat quality was especially impressive. Every dish had tender, high quality meat and you could really taste the difference. If I had to point out a couple things that could improve, I'd say the butter chicken could have a little more richness and depth of flavor compared to some others I've had. Also, the service could be a bit more attentive. A few of the workers were standing around chatting, and even when trying to make eye contact, we had to raise our hands to get someone's attention. What an amazing find right in the edge of Cancun's hotel zone! This Indian restaurant is not only a feast for the palate but also for the eyes. The decor is vibrant, stylish, and Instagram-worthy--every corner is designed with care, offering multiple photo opportunities. The ambiance is warm, welcoming, and perfectly curated. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The restrooms were spotless, the furniture elegant, and the vibe just right for a relaxed, memorable evening. We started with a variety of drinks--each one unique and delicious--and followed up with several starters and mains. Every single dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The butter chicken was an absolute standout--authentic, rich, and as good as anything you'd get in Delhi. Honestly, every dish was a hit. It's rare to find a place where everything tastes amazing, but they've nailed it here. The staff was attentive, courteous, and on point with water refills and service. It was such a pleasant surprise to discover a restaurant of this caliber in Cancun. I genuinely wish they had a location in the U.S.--they'd absolutely thrive. Cute place to stop by for dinner! Inside the medical complex but the staff was so sweet and the food was really good! We got the pani puri and the vegetable samosas and they had just the right amount of kick. My paneer tikka masala was good! My sister got the palak paneer and she wished it had a bit more flavor, but overall was good. read more

To all my Desis, when in Cancun, visit this place with your eyes closed. You will not be disappointed. Hands down, the best Indian cuisine in the area. The ambiance and food click really well. The staff is knowledgeable and cordial. We had a blast. The food is astounding and way better than some of the establishments in the US. The other joint few yards down the road is mediocre. The pricing is on point, just don't fall for the tip trap especially if you are in a big group, as gratuity is added to the bill. Great service, really nice ambience and surprisingly tasty Indian food in Cancun. We were hankering for a change in cuisine and started looking into Indian near the tourist zone but there really wasn't much there ... beyond some sketchy fusiony places. Patravali was 6-8 miles away and out of the beaten zone but it tuned out to be well worth the 15 minute uber ride. Not only was the seekh kebab, chicken biryani , chicken tikka all delicious and the naans were perfect consistency , but the food was also surprisingly well priced for the upscale ambience. Net the cost of the uber there was more than made up for by the delicious and affordable dinner! read more

e love Indian food as Indians and we always complain that in US there are no good Indian restaurants, keep in mind we have traveled almost all of US, even NYC so called famous restaurants are not authentic Indian. Last time I had kabob/chicken this moist was only in Oberon and then Taj Mumbai. The decor, vibe and service are at par the best Indian restaurants of five star hotels of India. And yes there is no restaurant in US which even comes close to this one. Sham savera I have never seen any restaurant in the US make as well. Was pretty excited for this place and did thorough research before going, most of the below average reviews were for slow service, poor service etc. So I was hopeful. We visited the local market called Mercado 28, great place to pick up souvenirs ( be warned everyone tries to sell you stuff). Anyway we decide to pick up indo Chinese for dinner and it looked Good till we got our hotel room and tasted the food. The fried rice was still okay ..... and that's being a little bit generous, but the chilli chicken had thrice the amount of salt. We could barely eat more than 2 bites. Even after mixing it with plain rice. Not worth the trip or the money. Avoid and please go to Elefanta ! read more

I rarely write negative reviews about businesses unless the experience is very bad. We had a flight to catch and reached the restaurant about 12:45. We explained to the staff and asked if we can take a seat while they get ready. They refused to open the door and said you will have to wait outside. So we did. The restaurant staff was very rude. They made us wait for 15 minutes first and then even though it was 1 O Clock declined to open the doors suing they are not ready. They could have just told us first so we would not waste time there. I don't know the food quality. But would never visit there ever given the rudeness of the staff. Common sense was lacking there. I would give -5 for the experience if it was possible to do so. read more

The entrees were well balanced. However don't recall railway mutton to be heavily sauced, in the '60s & 70s. The daal makhani was perfect. The service was average. The kulfi was very good. It is the best Indian in the area. read more

This Indian restaurant came highly recommended by a chef in a resort when we were talking how awesome the daal was in elephanta restaurant, which unfortunately is now closed. However, patravali did NOT stand up to expectations. Their Tea was awesome, I had 4 of them during lunch !!, the daal tadka was decent/ average tasting but a savor amongst all other dishes- looked like they added meat in pre-made curries and microwaved them - had to send a couple of dishes back - like the chefs special srilankan lamb. Superb Indian food... and i am not exaggerating, in every trip, being an Indian I need my comfort food. in Cancun, I found this here in the downtown area when we were coming back from Isla Mujeres. and what a great found it was. and when I am saying restaurant offers you great taste, I am not exaggerating. we were hungry after all day trip and wanted to order everything. the restaurant has a good ambiance, the table is bit bigger and at big height and only 2 servers who was taking care of other customers. we ordered Chicken Lollypop, Chili Chicken, Veg Jalfrezi, Butter Naan, Masala chai and in dessert Lychee delight. by going USA Indian restaurants standards, it had a great amazing taste. Chicken lollypop was not proper lollypop, but it was still good. Naan was small and crisp not thick bread. chili chicken was also good and so was veg jalfrezi. Masala chai was equally good. we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here and very much satisfied with that. only thing i did not get was, they do not serve dal tadka. i was very much looking for it, even requested for it. unlike other restaurants they do serve drinking water and gratuity was not added in tip. Everything about this place was amazing. We had just landed in Cancun and were super hungry. Drove 20 mins or so to this lovely gem of a place. Authentic North Indian food with a beautiful selection of drinks, appetizers and main course. Plenty of vegetarian and non veg options. One of the best spots to eat in Cancun! Highly recommend if you love Indian food OR if you are seeking something other than traditional Mexican fare. Being vegetarian I ordered veg samosas and shahi kofta which were both delicious! Shahi is similar but nuttier / less creamy than malai kofta. Boyfriend ordered the chicken vindaloo and dal makhani -- and loved the flavor in both. "Top 5 dal makhani" that he has ever had (and he's been to India!). We tried their house lassi which was more savory (pistachio, almonds and saffron) than sweet-- very tasty. Alberto and Emiliano were excellent servers. The interior and restrooms were also extremely nice. Food was tasty and would definitely eat here again if we were staying longer. read more

Found this hidden gem when we were craving Indian food in Cancún. The food is finger licking good. The servers are attentive and polite. The ambience is good and there's parking space right outside the restaurant. The restaurant plays hindi songs and has a good collection :) The Dal Makhani is one of the best Dal's I have had. The spice levels are perfect. The price is reasonable too. We ordered Chicken Drumsticks, Kerala pepper fry for appetizers and Dal Makhani, Butter chicken, Varanasi Dum Aloo and Fish Chettinad for entrees. Everything was delicious and we finished it with Indian style masala chai, that was the icing on the cake. Excellent Indian food just a few miles from the hotel zone in Cancun. Service was great, food was even better. We try to go out for Indian whenever we travel as there is none where we live and this was fantastic. My absolute favorite was the crispy lamb appetizer. I could eat just that all day. The samosas were some of the best we've had in a long time. For dinner we tried the railway lamb and the tikki masala chicken. Both excellent. read more

Indian food, yum. The restaurant was empty when I arrived and stayed that way, which was fine because it felt as if we rented the place out for the two of us haha. Our waiter was very attentive to detail, and he was friendly and had a calm demeanor. We had the appetizer were there was different types of meat grilled; chicken, fish, and shrimp, which I thought was pretty good. My date and I shared the spicy chicken ?( don't remember the name of it ) fish, which surprisingly had a lot of oriental flavors. The food was decent , however , the drink I had was AAMAZING and it was beautiful. This was a great find on our trip to Cancun. Lots of choices to pick from. We ordered several apps - paneer tikka and reshmi kebab were excellent. Butter chicken and paneer masala was excellent as well. Service is great and the waiters are friendly and caring. Ambience and decor is great .. very clean and comfy. Nice upscale place. They went out of their way to contact a taxi to help us get back to our resort since we had no transportation. Wanted to give a shout out to Samantha and Edmundo at the restaurant. This is a awesome restaurant. I highly recommend anyone traveling to Cancun to try out the Indian food over here. We ordered paneer chili and it was as good as back home. It was the softest paneer I have had outside of India. We also ordered some biryani, dal makhani and naan which was great as well. Amazing food at this joint, just happened to stay across the street at hotel in downtown region of Cancun after missing my flight Monday 11/18 lucked out on this gem wasnt getting great reception so kinda wingged it. Turned out soo Bomb!!! and the host was so helpful in my fragile state lol ( very suspect hood in the beggining ) turned out to be really Kooo area ,Aimee was very well spoken in English ,fluent in spanish as well she rrecommended a amazing spicy dish with so many robust flavors very savory meal. Definitely a must try for Persian /Indian food had a bunch of great meals in Cancun for 4night, this was definitely one of them out of hotel zone .. so much food for about 12 $ US..incredible value for such high quality restaurant was very very well kept. read more

The location of this place is not very central, it's convenient if you are staying in downtown Cancun but otherwise need to definitely take a cab or bus here. We were staying in the hotel zone and it was a 25 min bus (R1) ride in peak traffic times. The decor is clean and simple . The food was very authentic Indian and I loved the flavors . We ordered the chicken tikka appetizer , Hyderabad Chicken and dal makhani for main course along with garlic naan. All items were great with the exception of the naan, it was over done and almost burnt with barely any garlic flavor , the worst of naans I ever ate hence knocked off a star. In all superb !
