I saw all the good reviews and wanted a little break from Mexican since I've been here for 3 weeks. I arrived and was the only one there (it was low season, so....) I had missed happy hour by about 15 minutes but they said they would give it to me anyway. I ordered a Margarita and the Chicken dish. Words can literally not describe how delicious the food was.and the Margarita was strong and you can not complain about 2 for 1. For about $15 got one of the best meals of my life. read more

Muy delicioso! This place is a true hidden treasure. I don't even know if the name of the restaurant is anywhere conspicuous because I started referring to it as the "Sol" restaurant (based on its protruding lit sign showcasing the brand of beer). The only reason we even knew about it is because we stayed at the Hotel Isleno next door and passed it every time we went to the town square. After seeing it overflowing with happy vacationers night after night, we knew we had to give it a try. We stopped by after a snorkeling trip for a much-needed refueling. As for what to eat, I actually can't remember what I ordered, but it involved a pita and meat, and it was SO GOOD. Honestly though, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the menu choices, especially considering how cheap everything is. Discovered this great gem walking by and it did not disappoint, what got my attention was the sizzling red onions you know that's already a good sign, pitas full of flavor and hole in the wall setting was perfect. We had the classic pita full of beef, turkey ham, red onion, tomato and curry cream sauce delish, the veggie pita was so tasty and Portion size was plenty. We finally stopped here - we had wanted to for a while. SO GLAD we did. We both had the Chicken pita with mushrooms(I had mine with no onions or peppers)Cooked it up to order while we sat at the window bar. I can hardly explain how good it was! Amazing flavors! I couldn't finish mine and felt mad because it was so good! Really nice folks running the place, great service! Prices were great too! This is a great pita place, with a top Chef Ricardo trained in New York culinary school. Try the beef carpaccio and pita pizza! A small hole in the wall but amazing service and staff. I will be back again next time I'm in Isle Mujeres! read more

After a few days in Isla Mujeres, you should quickly learn to avoid most of the restaurants on Hidalgo and instead, seek out places like Pita Amore which is a block or two off the main strip. It's a small but excellent menu and the restaurant is full of personality and excellent service. We enjoyed the Mayan Pita Brunch and the El Chine (?- last item on the menu). And def use the homemade black bean sauce on the table.... so good. The food is unique, fresh, and inexpensive. The drinks are great and the service excellent. What is not to love? read more

Best hidden Jem on the island. The place was recommended to us by a couple who had been to the island 10 years in a row. We were so happy they told us about it because we couldn't have found it otherwise. Owner is extremely down to earth and accommodating. My boyfriend has a dairy allergy and they made his dish lactose free. They also give you free chips before dinner! And have a great happy hour. read more

Wow, it was so good! Plus a really good deal. We got the chicken one with caramalized onions and tomatoes and 3 beers. It tasted so good the service was fast and you can see them cook everything in front of you. The bread was a little bit hard but overall it was amazing! Would come back if I ever go back. We also left our names at the door =) which made it more special. Man, that was so good... I was looking for something Mexican and this place caught my eye, I didn't expect it to be Mexican flavors but I was very happy to see that it is! Being dinner time I took a risk and tried the Mayan Pita Brunch. The achiote beef was so good and even though it had eggs it was a great dinner. Dumping the homemade sauce on the top only made it more mind blowing. I highly recommend this place, you won't regret it! read more

I guess I wasn't as impressed. There are only 4 options and being tired of so many meat based dishes I ordered the vegetarian pita. It tasted like fried rice in a crispy pita with not fully cooked beans. Just didn't love it. However I may have been more impressed with the Classic? Cute little restaurant though. read more

We just got home from Isla. We only had the flan at pita amore but it was amazing, large portion too. Unfortunately we were leaving the next morning so we didn't have a chance to taste the pitas but a few people sitting inside swore it was the best meal on the island. Little hole in the wall pita joint, with incredible food. Used to be a food cart and they bought a spot right off the main road and rolled the cart inside. Only 5 things on the menu, but all are great and a good price. Also has a pita pizza too that is incredible. read more
