My family and I stumbled upon this little gem while on vacation. This is a very quaint restaurant overlooking the ocean. Our server was very attentive and accommodating since we had 2 small children with us. We ordered ceviche bruschetta which was perfectly marinated and so delicious that we ordered a second round. The pasta was definitely homemade and fresh. There wer five adults and we all nibbled off of each other's dishes and no one had a bad thing to say about the dishes. My only comment is that one or two of the dishes needed a little more seasoning hence the 4 star review. If you need a break from Mexican, this spot is a must! read more

Sadly disappointed in our lunch at La Louisa. The view is spectacular, 5 star view. The food is less than spectacular. I had the octopus salad with potato and tomato. The lime flavor was good and the octopus was tender, but the tomatoes tasted off. So off I was afraid to eat them for fear of getting sick. My son had the gnocchi Gorgonzola. The cream sauce was so thick it overpowered the gnocchi. The plate was a heap of gnocchi smothered in rich heavy cream with a hint of Gorgonzola. Terrible. My son also had a mojito. The drink was very strong (my son is 25 years old and certainly not new to mojitos) and not the good taste of a top shelf rum, but rather more of a grain alcohol taste (anyone who has lived on a college campus knows what that tastes like). He drank about half and left the rest. Within 1 hour after leaving La Louisa, my son became violently ill. So ill a doctor was necessary. We cannot tie his illness directly to a certain beverage he had that day; one cervesa and the mojito, but the doctor is certain he had alcohol poisoning. Again, we can only surmise as to the source. Food was not good and drinks suspect. If you want a fantastic view while dining, err on the side of caution while dining at La Louisa. read more

This was an incredible wonderful surprise. We drove all the way around the Isla de Mujeres in a golf cart. Almost back to the ferry, we found Da Luisa. We sat in 2nd story indoor dining room overlooking the Caribbean!!! Food was delicious. See my photos. Mixed green salad had big chunks of fresh vegetables incl. tomato, avocado, red pepper. I had mixed shrimp plate. So good!!! Loved the bacon-wrapped shrimp and the homemade tartar sauce was delicious- lots of dill. My wife had a homemade ravioli that was delicious - very rich. Finished up with panacota con Nutella. Delicious. Surprising because the neighborhood is not as classy as the restaurant. Prices were inexpensive - $42 USD including tip! read more

Great dinner on the rooftop at sunset, Da Luisa came highly recommended by the owners of the house we rented, and did not disappoint! We had the gorgonzola and vegetarian pastas, both delicious, and our dinner companions had fish in a couple of forms. The dining room is open and airy, with a nice breeze on warm nights, and you ab see the sunset directly from a couple of the tables. Service is reasonably paced, and we'll be coming back the next time we're on Isla! read more

My wife and I stayed at the hotel connected to DA LUISA. Which is Casa Ixtchel and the rooftop restaurant was our daily brunch favorite. Honestly we ate guacamole and calamari everyday. The service is great as well as the drinks. Piña colada was great. read more

I've had nothing but great food and service since arriving on Isla Mujeres. Da Luisa was disappointing. We anticipated a leisurely meal but were made to wait 45 minutes for the check after we asked for it. We had to ask three times. Three of us enjoyed the food. Three did not. There are lots of places to recommend on Isla Mujeres, but this isn't one of them. read more

On a rainy Thursday evening... It wasn't too hot or too cold and we ordered the seafood platter. Romantic and delicious describes this restaurant to a T. Everything was cooked to perfection. Went here because it was close and had decent ratings. Big mistake. I had the lobster ravioli, which wasn't fresh and tasted super fishy. The tomato sauce that it was served with was watery and bland. I politely told the waiter in Spanish (he did not speak English, which is fine for me) that it did not taste good and he told me I could order another dish, but would need to pay for both. I thought about it, but my dining partner had the lobster spaghetti and, while fresh, it was also extremely bland. So I didn't eat, left hungry, and still ended up paying for a super expensive meal. We stayed at Casa Ixchel which is the hotel connected to this restaurant. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals here while we were on the island. The meals were all great, would only avoid the pasta as we felt it was not cooked enough. Recommend the fish tacos, guacamole, grilled fish dinner and for breakfast definitely the french toast! Oh and if you want a great Piña Colada be sure to order one here! Moy was our waiter and he was fantastic! read more

We rented a golf cart to explore the island and happened upon this charming restaurant. The view was breathtaking and the food was simply delicious. We were hot and thirsty and the ice cold bottled water and cokes hit the spot! The lobster tail and steak was just as good as the view. The staff was friendly and happy to accept our Visa card.
