I had to think long and hard about this review and what to say. I hired them for a relatively large (at least to me) rear landscaping job. The project manager, Dayton was very responsive to the initial request, provided pricing and answered any questions I had. I obtained several bids and decided to go forward with Patio Design. They weren't the least expensive but Dayton's follow-up convinced me. The work was scheduled and everything was installed quite quickly and without issue. All in all, the project was wrapped in three days. It looked really good and I was very pleased. After a couple of days, brown spots started appearing in the grass. It was a large area of grass (about a quarter of an acre). I called Dayton - he told me to increase the watering. Unfortunately it only got worse. I continued to stay in contact with Dayton, who continued to tell me to increase watering times. It ended up getting to a point where I received a call from the town alerting me to my water consumption. This wasn't good. Dayton agreed to come out to view the property with an irrigation specialist. When they arrived, I think they immediately knew something was wrong with the sprinklers. There simply weren't enough of them and there wasn't enough pressure. Dayton committed to making things right and given he hadn't led me astray, I was nervous, but willing to let them sort through it. Dayton and his company decided to hire an irrigation specialist to come in and redesign the setup from the ground up. The specialist and his team made a ton of changes - another three day's' worth of work. Fast forward three weeks, watering with via the new system, the yard looks exponentially better. It still has some "healing" to do, but it's coming back. And I'm watering waaaaay less now too! In the end, they absolutely made everything right. They took ownership of the problem and turned me from a concerned and slightly unhappy customer, to a happy one. So the question is - would I use Patio Design again or recommend them to anybody? The answer is an absolute yes. The rationale is that we all make mistakes. What's important is how we address them. Would I have like the yard to be done right the first time? Sure. But KNOWING you have a vendor who will not quit until you're 100% satisfied... isn't that what we're all truly trying to hire? If in doubt, call them. They'll will me you happy. read more

Patio Design Group did a great job redoing my front yard and my backyard. I roughly drew out a design of what I wanted and they were able to bring my vision to life. Drey was very responsive and had good communication with me throughout the process. After I signed the paperwork, they came out a few days after and began working (other companies told me I had to wait at least a month before they could start!). The team out here was hardworking and the quality of the work was great. Although they were quick, I do wish we spent more time in the beginning hashing out the details that weren't specified on the quote. For example, we wanted rip rap for the dry creek bed but they ordered river rock. The river rock placed down honestly looked fine, so we decided to keep it. There were some other things, but Drey was able to accommodate us and adjust the quote later on to reflect what was done. This was my first time hiring someone to do landscaping and I was nervous about it at first, but I'm glad everything turned out well! read more

Received an email advising they would give a quote but in body of email, it says MINIMUM of 5,000 for a job. All I need done is old rock removed and weed cloth put down before new rocks go down. So either they feel Way more confident in their work than I do, or "little fish" money isn't good enough for them. I can get rocks for myself and put it in for myself for 1/4 the price...... read more

To start, we did not hire them, so cannot speak to the quality of their work. This review is related to the bidding process and communications. They responded quickly, showed up to provide an estimate, were friendly and explained everything, along with a rough estimate. So far, so good! The full, in writing estimate took another week or so to get, but was clear and professional. However, it was also about 30% higher than the rough estimate provided. Was this due to poor estimating or jacking up the price after a client shows interest, not sure. They were a little high but still in line with other contractor estimates, so I'm leaning towards just poor initial estimating. The real issue was their lack of communications and response. We had another contractor that came in lower but then stopped responding also, so we still decided to give Patio Design Group a chance due to the reasons above. Cut to nearly two weeks later now, after repeatedly reaching out to them, and we have finally received a response back. A response that was asking about scheduling an appointment for an estimate (which was already done and estimated weeks ago). At which point, we have now already started the project with another contractor. Patio Design Group comes off very professional and accommodating; however, I would be leery of their poor estimating, as well as poor and disorganized communications. It shouldn't be this hard to try to give someone your business. read more

I'm a but torn on this since no work was done, however.... Initially when we requested information Dayton came out and we had a great experience. We enjoyed our conversation with him and hearing his ideas for our yard, and looked forward to receiving a bid which he said we would have by the end of the week (this initial meeting was on 8/10). When we didn't get anything, I emailed him with no response. After texting back and forth with the office manager for a few days we finally got our bid (this is about 2 weeks or so after the fact). Unfortunately, the estimate was missing at least half of what we had discussed doing. I responded to his email immediately and texted the office manager as well, who said she would let him know. Thus far, we still have not received a response (the latest conversation happened about a week and a half ago). As much as we were looking forward to working with them, that lack of communication is huge and we have decided to go with other group who has been amazing about getting back with us quickly and getting all our questions answered. EDIT: Shortly after posting this I received a text from the office manager, Juliana. Much to my surprise (and appreciation!), she didn't try to make excuses for any lack of communication that had happened. In fact, she thanked me for the review, saying that it will help them make the necessary changes to ensure this type of situation does not happen again. As a manager myself, I very much appreciate this response. While I'm not changing the initial review, I hope that it helps others in one way or another. read more

Being front the Midwest, we were clueless when it came to designing the landscaping for our newly built home. Amazingly, Tim created a design for our property that turned out to be amazing. I moved into a house where the front yard was just rock and wanted more of a curb apeal so I contacted Patio Design Group. They were super helpful and gave me ideas and a very reasonable quote. Once the guys came over to do the actual work, I was REALLY impressed!! They were polite, quick and extremely professional. The guy that did the work in the back yard with the pavers was amazing how he was able to tie a path from the patio to an existing paver system that looked like it had always been there. I can't say enough good things about this experience and if I need any work in the future, I will definitely go with them again!! read more

Let me start out by saying WOW! "PDGAZ" went above and beyond for me and my family. We sat down with Donna and showed her some photos of what we wanted, but we wanted a nice flare to reflect our taste. After talking with Donna, she then showed us a render (which we LOVED) and then a quote followed. She came in UNDER what everyone else quoted us! After it all, Donna followed up with us MULTIPLE times to ensure everything was to our standard. Not only that, she called us after a storm to make sure we were happy with the way everything help up! After a change in management, I assume, and the delay due to Veterans Day, the finishing of a retaining wall in my backyard which concluded the construction of a putting surface and pavers extension of our covered patio. Joshua stayed on site to make sure the wall finished as he had promised it would. Our initial dealings and contract were with Eric and Tom and we were surprised to here of the change employees but Joshua is easy to deal with as seems quite competent. read more

Everything that was promised was delivered ahead of schedule. Their team of people are efficient and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I have never posted on Yelp or any other online review source, but I cannot help myself when it comes to this awful company. I would leave zero stars if it were possible. Not only did they do a terrible job laying new grass and installing irrigation, they had to return to replace the sod since half of the grass was already dead when they laid it. In addition, they did the worst job I have ever seen installing sprinkler heads. Worst part... Their "promise to return" should anything go wrong was a complete lie. - Wouldn't even return a phone call, let alone fix their dreadful idea of a completed project. EVERY time I go to the backyard to work on something they messed up, I am reminded how much money I wasted on this ridiculous company. PLEASE save yourself the headache and choose someone else, but if you want to spend the next year repairing a mess you paid thousands of dollars for, Patio Design Group is just for you. Doesn't even deserve 1 star! Ordered a custom cushion April 17th and was told it would take a week. I gave Patio Design (or Patio Solutions) a drawing as well as a picture. 2 MONTHS LATER I finally received the cushion and it was backward and missing the ties. Call the owner Reynaldo and was given the run around for another 2 months promising me another one was being made which I never saw. There are so many good small business out there, don't waste your time or loose your money here! read more

PDG did a great job on the design and layout of my yard, got it done in a timely manner which they said would be about two days, job was all laid out and completed in two days, the only problem we had was with the CLEAN UP, with all of the equipment running all around my driveway and sidewalks it got very dirty, left black marks, mud, when you do a job complete the job. The yard looked great but even my neighbor said wow they should have cleaned the concrete to finish the job, well after I hired someone to power wash the concrete it made the whole front yard look fantastic.Do not get me wrong PDG did very good, but please follow up to make sure the job is complete. read more
