Crab cakes and sweet potato fries.
Carrie C.

Dropped in on our way to a show. I don't know what kind of magic is in the food here, but it is amazing! The lights and art are so pretty here, ambiance is spot-on. Feels fancy, but it's casual. Our server has been fantastic! Personality + quick wit and service is great! Would definitely come here again!! 5-stars all around! We ordered drinks from the bar, apps, salads with chicken, and dessert. I don't know what kind of sorcery the chefs did in the cheesecake, but it was mouthwatering-good!

Ate here for happy hour on a Thursday (2-5) and it was not busy at all. The service was quick, kind, and attentive. The food was better than okay, but nothing spectacular. Great for watching a game, or sitting at the bar with a friend.

Spiced apple French toast

This is a pleasant, peaceful spot for breakfast for an evening drink. We came in the morning since we had food credits from staying in the hotel and the spiced apple French toast was delicious! The bartender was very friendly and helpful in the evening as well.

Strip steak, mashed potatoes and carrots. Great sauce.

Food was good but my wife ordered her steak medium and it came out rarer than mine that was medium rare. They remade it for her with no issues. The crab cake appetizer was very good with mostly crab meat and very little filler. The sauce was excellent. Beautiful space. Service was great considering that there was only one server, but the bartender and the chef helped delivering the food.

Hey Bob, you ever heard of a drink called the Swanky Panky?

I finally found a place that offers sweetbteads. Finally. Only I wanted more of them because they were absolutely delicious. The entrees were also tasty and paired well with Patagōn's extensive wine and cocktail offerings. The staff was great, and the location to the theater was terrific. I think the only negative was the end price. We didn't get anything crazy, but still ended up spending over $200 for two people.

Salmon Benedict

We are here three times while staying in the hotel so this review takes into account three experiences. Patagon is an Argentinian inspired restaurant located on the ground floor of the Hilton Charter hotel about two blocks from Pike Place Market. We ate breakfast twice and both times had a very good experience. The restaurant takes reservations on Opentable but there was rarely a host so you can just walk in and choose a table. The food was very good. The salmon Benedict and the oatmeal were highlights. The continental breakfast includes coffee and gives you a few choices of items which is nice. The service at breakfast (I think he'd name was Mary) was excellent as well. The only thing that was odd is that even though I ordered the salmon Benedict with salad twice, they were quite different from each other. The first day, the Benedict had no sesame seeds or dill and the second day it did. And the second day, the salad had no sundried tomatoes but on day 1, it didn't. Not sure why the dishes aren't consistent, but the ideal situation is that they would be. Unfortunately, our evening visit wasn't as stellar. We went in for something light at around 8:45 (the restaurant closes at 9pm) and we're seated right away. We ordered the calamari and lamb empanadas ($15 for three really small empanadas of about 2 bites each). The service was not good. Our server disappeared. We ran out of water so I eventually walked to bus station and got the pitcher and refilled our waters myself. The calamari was only room temperature when it was finally brought to us and very soggy so I suspect it sat in the window for awhile while our server was who knows where... someone else brought out the empanadas which were good (and hot) but overpriced. Prior to the evening experience I would have given a four star review. Something else to note-- the establishment adds a mandatory 20% service charge to your bill. We consistently tip 20%( more if the server goes above and beyond) but don't appreciate it being forced on us. The mandatory tip is probably why the night service was so poor-- why bother being attentive and refilling glasses when you're guaranteed a tip and you can spend that time doing side work instead? If you're staying at the hotel, you can apply the cost of food as well as the service charge toward your resort fee btw. Also note, this restaurant closes early (9pm most nights and 5pm on Sundays).

Don't skip this tasty restaurant!! The food was delicious, but the service is what really sold us on this place. Our Server Mary was the absolute best!! She was attentive, and her interactions with us were top tier. She also remembered us the next day and even gave our little one goodies. She is what made this place memorable for us. We stayed at the Charter hotel, and this was probably the best part of our stay since it's right down stairs!

Foragers Frittata

We came here pretty often while were were staying in Seattle. Just a heads up, this restaurant is connected to another hotel (Charter Hotel). There's an urban development tax where you have to pay the hotel $25 a night. However, they do give it to you back in credit here. This place is a great way to spend some of those credits. Here are a few of the favorite dishes we tried: Forager's Fritatta - a baked egg dish with mushrooms (diced really small so it's hard to see) and sundried tomatoes. This is such a refreshing twist on an omelet. Eggs Neptune - Decent option as well. It's a take on the eggs benedict, but stuffed with crab Boysenberry French Toast - this was by far my favorite meal here. Sweet, perfectly caramelized. One of the things I did like about this is that they make it with whole grains and find ways to add additional protein into the meal. IG: @QueenOfAdventureNYC

Patagōn - located inside the Charter Hotel - sports a clean, modern look, enthusiastic and friendly staff, and a self-serve coffee bar for those waiting in the entrance queue. Though it builds on its Argentine roots, most of the Sunday offerings are now the typical brunch fate available in a dozen places within a few blocks. The pastries were fresh, tasty, and worth the visit. Sadly, that which got me waiting through the queue, the Chorizo Biscuit (Argentine chorizo, fried egg, manchego, and a chimichurri hollandaise), is not currently on offer. That was a combination of flavors I was most eagerly anticipating. Please bring it back!

Wife's special breakfast of the day with bacon

We were looking for a place for breakfast saw this place and decided to try it. We were greeted and sat down quickly. Coffee was brought over right away and the waiter took our order. I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and truffle sauce and my wife had the special breakfast. Service was very attentive and warm. My eggs were over cooked, however I brought it to the waiter's attention and they quickly made them again and perfectly done.

I grabbed a quick breakfast at Patagon while I was staying at the Charter Hotel. I opted for the standard fare: Eggs Benedict. Nice hollandaise sauce, potatoes were a nice change from hash browns. Coffee was solid -- strong. Service was very attentive. Mandatory 20% service fee. I enjoyed dining at this restaurant. Classy place to enjoy breakfast while staying at the Charter Hotel.

What a wonderful surprise spot in Seattle! We were looking for a brunch spot and when the first one we picked didn't work out we randomly selected to pop in here and we were so happy! We sat at the bar and got breakfast meals with eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. My husband got a Bloody Mary and I got some mocktails. Everything was delicious! The breakfast was so tasty, especially the potatoes and toast with cinnamon butter. The bartender was so kind and personable. He came up with interesting mocktails for me and engaged in some wonderful conversations with us. I'm so glad we ended up here!

All the…read moreoutdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

They gave us these post cards to write down our individual drinks. FYI - this place requires using your smart phone to scan a QR code for the menu. We ordered 2 apps (salmon dip with pita chips & chips and cheese dip) I ordered fish and chips. Buddy got the meat loaf. Our beer showed up quick. Waiter always checked on us often. Our apps showed up and they were both delicious. Then 5 minutes later our main dish orders showed up. Wasn't too happy with that because we wasted time to taste our beers and snack on the apps. They need to work on their timing. Need at least 10 minutes in between the beer and apps. The food overall is admittedly top notch. Fish and chips FRESH! The fish was juicy and the fried crust was perfection. Pieces were large. They will ask if you want 3 or 4. 3 is enough. If they can work on timing the drinks and food this place would be a 5 out 5, but will deduct a star because of that. The overall vibe of the place was nice. Huge layout with wooden picnic style tables. Outdoor tables if you're lucky to get one. Large tanks to brew beer surrounding the room and a merch table.

Located at the north end of Pikes Place (across the street from Cutters) is this gem of a find. We made reservations online and was able to get seated quickly (it fills up fast). Looking at the menu it looked like we also timed it with happy hour (double win!). We quickly place an order for two dozen oysters (at $2/ea it's a steal) while we perused the menu. After ordering the oyster platter arrived and it was so fresh, chilled and tasty. We quickly devoured it. Moving into dinner, some got the crab rolls, but I settled for the new menu item: halibut. The delightfully savory halibut was moist and served with a nice side of potato and was as perfect as one can make a halibut dish. I would eat this again in a heartbeat. The mains were awesome, our 10oz fillets were thick and juicy with great peppercorn crust (ask, we didn't see it on the menu) and rich sauces. The sea bass was incredibly moist and flavorful to the point my no-fish son stole seconds. The lamb was arranged beautifully and cooked perfectly. We had a few not-perfect points but not big enough to detract. My son wasn't a fan of the lamb sauce, our steaks were a bit overdone for medium-rare. Still delicious. The creamed corn and augratin potatoes...omg...open a restaurant just for these. They were both creamy, impossibly flavorful, and still stand out from similar dishes you find elsewhere without straying from their core identity. Just be careful, we certainly overate and all the cream and butter/oil didn't help us on that side. I can't say much about the caviar. The ones who wanted it loved it but weren't raving. They liked the onion dip and chips over a standard cream and bread or cracker. Me...I ate a ton of the chips with onion dip only and absolutely loved it. Don't think I'd pay $40 for chips and dip but that's just more caviar for the rest of the table! Caesar was good, but hard to beat a Howie tableside. Grapefruit soda was worth it, very refreshing and strong natural grapefruit flavor. Woth a note, our server was excellent and worked with us to explain everything well, our waters were never less than half full and we're bottomless pits when it comes to water.

What it really comes down to for me is expectations being set based on pricing…read more Let's say I go to a restaurant and the cost of everything is $100 (for the math, not the realism). In Seattle, I know that there's a 10% sales tax so I would be expecting to pay about $130 after tax and tip. under this system, I order my food, the subtotal is $100, I see that I'm being charged a service charge at 21% on $110 which means I'm paying $133.00 and based on the wording of the menu, my server is getting screwed because the business is keeping that money. also, it is pretty fucked up to charge 21% on the after tax amount. Service charges and tip should be on the pre-tax amount, nobody at Seattle City Hall helped the service staff to bus dishes, or to deliver my food. So now I feel like I need to add another $20 which leaves me with $20 less and a negative final experience at the restaurant. I would much rather the menu price reflect the $119.75 pre-tax, which is still $133 with tax before tip. I don't mind spending $150 on food, when I think that's what I was going to be spending. I do mind spending that when the math seems sketchy. I don't like feeling taken advantage of, which is what the policy and the wording of the policy left me feeling at the end of the night. I suggested to the owner is it to just raise your prices to reflect your fixed costs and either get rid of tipping entirely or get rid of the service charge.
