    Pasta Bolognese
    Czarina D.

Was really excited to try this place! I've heard a lot of people talk about Pasta Sisters. I really really wanted to like my meal more, but it unfortunately fell a little flat. I think we maybe need to try it out one more time! We ordered the Porcini Mushroom (on Tagliatelle) and the Bolognese (on Pappardelle). Both dishes had good flavor, but felt pretty underseasoned. I felt like both pastas needed more salt. The Porcini Mushroom had really great mushroom flavor, but that was kind of it. Between the two, we preferred the Bolognese a bit more because it had more flavor and was a bit more interesting (and had a bit more salt too). The pasta itself was nice, but I wish it was more al dente and had more of a chew. My favorite thing that we got was the side of Focaccia Bread. It had such a nice flavor!! So addicting and really great bread. I really really enjoyed the bread. Not what I was expecting, but I hope to give this place another shot in the future and update my review :)

Would I come back? Probably not. Porcini lasagna was so good, but don't think I would make the trip especially for the price and the difficult parking. The pappardelle texture was also good, but the mushroom sauce was bland. Pesto tagliatelle was sad. Better places to spend $70

I've always wanted to try Pasta Sisters but hate driving to LA so I was so glad to find this location in Costa Mesa! You have to do takeout, it's located in a ghost kitchen with a bunch of other restaurants. Theres kiosks to order inside but I would order directly through the website so you don't have to wait. It took about 15 minutes and came out to be a little over $20. I thought it was a bit pricy but then I tried it and it was totally worth the price! I love pesto and this was definitely one of my top favorites - super creamy and they gave a generous amount of sauce. It was a decent portion of pasta and you could tell it was fresh and made in house! Definitely worth the hype. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice plastic container over the flimsy paper ones! Lots of door dashers and uber eats going in out, would definitely check out the other restaurants in there. Workers were super kind and there's even someone in the parking lot guiding traffic. What a great hidden gem!

I fell in love with Pasta Sister when I visited their location on Pico. Pastas were amazing as was the lasagna. I then tried their other LA location and was a fan so when I heard there was one in OC I had to give it a try. So the OC location is nothing like the LA locations.. it's located inside the Costa Mesa Kitchen, it's solely pick up. If you don't place the order on their website when you get to the location there are a bunch of restaurants and you place an order on a kiosk. You never actually get to see the Pasta Sister booth as it's upstairs. It's like a food court but not, as there's no seating. I tried the porchini mushroom pasta.. tbh, I wanted to love it, but was a bit disappointed. It tasted like a can of mushroom soup on pasta. I wish I had a side or parm to put on the pasta, but no such luck. Maybe I need to try something different or just stick to the LA locations. I will add parking is a pain here. There is a small lot and getting out is a bit scary on the weekends with Newport Blvd sooo busy. All in all I'm on the fence as to whether I'd try this place again

I've heard rave reviews about Pasta Sisters for YEARS, but never make it into Los Angeles. I was so excited to see Pasta Sisters available in Costa Mesa. I ordered on DoorDash and thoroughly enjoyed every bite! The Tomato & Basil pasta was light and refreshing for a pasta. You can tell the pasta is handmade with love. The bite to the pasta was excellent. I will definitely order again!

Love that they're finally in OC but I hate that it's to go only. I was stoked when I saw their name pop up. I came immediately but it's in the Costa Mesa kitchens multi kitchen to go spot which I've been avoiding. Well guess I gotta suck it up now because I do love me some pasta sisters.

Ordered spaghetti bolognese, spaghetti arrabbiata, tortellini, and chicken milanese for a family dinner at home -- WOW! We wanted to try a little of everything and the fresh pasta and delicious sauces lived up to my expectations. Also, came with focaccia which was a nice surprise! (Also stayed piping hot which is always a plus when ordering out)

Used to go to Culver City and Korea town locations all the time when we lived in LA. We were so excited when they opened this location. We've now tried this location over 5 times, hoping it would get better and it's really disappointing. Unfortunately, we won't be trying again. Bread - overcooked, stale Salad - overpriced Pasta - overcooked and too salty Lasagna - overcooked

    Lame!!

I was gonna give you a complete 5.0 because your cacio e Pepe was amazing but I'm gonna tell you that the lasagna is the lamest I've ever had and that is one of my favorite. Amazing Cacio e Pepe but the worst lasagna I've ever had. Hopefully you take this in a positive way instead of taking as a negative way I'm only here to help you.

It looked like there were two locations, but we ended up at this one as it was on the way to the store. - PARKING - Street parking, but luckily there's tons of spaces up and down the street. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - We came around 6:30pm on a Saturday and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. We had to go to the store anyways so we decided to go out and come back. The timing was about perfect and they sat us when we returned. Really welcoming environment - huge shout out to Jeremy who was our main server. He was warm and inviting, and honestly made the meal that much better. We let him know it was our first times and they ended up bringing out free cheese ravioli and pink sauce for us to try - this only solidified our picks but we were all so appreciative of the extra mile the staff went. It's not a huge restaurant, only about 10 tables that seat mainly 2-4 people. - FOOD - Meat/Spinach Ravioli: So happy they let us know we could mix and match the ravioli! I preferred the Meat Ravioli but was happy to have been able to try the Spinach as well. The marinara sauce that's served under the Ravioli is perfectly tart. Sausage and Chicken Capri: We swapped out the spaghetti for rigatoni to really soak up that pink sauce! Great option if you want a delicious sauce with some protein already included! They even gave us complimentary cookies at the end, and they noted that it usually satisfies the sweet tooth for customers - it did for us! - OVERALL - Great vibes, great food, great service!

We called ahead of time to let the restaurant know of the party number change and the hostess noted it. When we arrived at the hostess stand, both hostesses did not acknowledge or greet us. When they finally acknowledged us (they were gossiping the entire time), they were rude, short, and bothered. They told us to wait a minute while they set up the table; the hostess came back and asked if it was 5. We told her we called and changed to 3 and she did not know what we were talking about. Therefore they did not have a table ready for us inside and stuck us outside. We complied and accepted the outdoor table. Next, the worker who was bringing out the food was extremely rude. We were working on our first appetizer and she said "are you done with that or not?" We put the last of it on our plates and said she could take it. She rolled her eyes at us and grabbed the plate. While grabbing it, her arms rubbed my wine glass and where I sip from. She looked at me, made a bothered face, and walked away. I have never been to a restaurant with such rude service. We also had an unfortunate circumstance while dining and one of our party members needed to go to the Urgent Care. She was having extreme chest pain and shortness of breath. We asked the staff to bring to go boxes and the check due to this emergency. They moved very slowly and did not give a care in the world despite our urgency. We will not be dining here again. I hope they train their staff on manners, service, and hospitality. The two stars are for the apps we were able to try: artichoke and eggplant. Our actual server also decent but still lacked a sense of urgency. It is obviously not the staffs fault that we were in that situation, but they treated us like they couldn't wait to get us out to serve the next table.

I've passed by it so many times, but it never really caught my eye sitting there off Newport Boulevard, so I'm glad I checked out someplace new that kept getting recommended over and over. I ended up getting the small Italian hoagie and a cheese calzone with their Sunday sauce. The Italian sub was stacked too. Pepper ham, salami, capicola, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, sweet peppers, hot peppers, pickles, oil and vinegar all packed into a soft Italian roll. Every bite had a different flavor going on from the salty meats to the sharp provolone and the crunch from the lettuce and peppers. The oil and vinegar tied everything together perfectly and gave it that classic deli sandwich taste. Even the small size was filling. The cheese calzone was huge and baked perfectly. The outside had that crispy golden brown crust with little charred spots all over it and a nice crunch when you cut into it. Inside was parmesan, mozzarella, and ricotta cheese all melted together and super cheesy without feeling too heavy. Then you dip it into the Sunday sauce and that's what takes it over the top. Their Sunday sauce is tomato based but infused with the drippings from their homemade beef and pork meatballs so it has a deeper richer flavor than regular marinara. You can definitely taste the difference. Really glad I finally stopped here because now I totally get why so many people were talking about it. Definitely a place I'll be coming back
