Rigatoni with meatballs
Jay P.

In-laws felt like Italian and this place had very high reviews. I would categorize this as "American Italian" and this isn't a bad thing, just know what to expect and don't compare this to what you had in Italy. They let you build your own pizza and pasta so it's a bit mis en place to customize your order to however you want. There is an "IG wall" you can take pictures at but it's located in a tiny normal strip mall and besides the website and social media pictures a pretty normal restaurant. Margherita Pizza :Tomato, Ricotta, Fresh Basil. Very sparse ricotta on this and felt like not enough cheese was used, see pictures. Cacio e Pepe: Spaghetti noodles, Pecorino Romano, Parmigiano, Olive Oil and Black Pepper. With sausage added, it was OK, too al dente and slightly under cooked. Rigatoni with Meatballs: This one I wish we ordered more of, we got it for the kids but I tried some and it tasted great.

Garlic bread. Needs more crunch and less time soaking in butter

I was told about this place a long time ago by a family member who lived in the area at the time, but had since moved away. So, really no reason for me to visit after that. Came across it again on a shopping trip for pet food and thought I'd stop by finally. Location: On the corner of Glassell and Lincoln Ave it's in a small strip mall with a private parking lot, but shared. Customer service is good and the ambiance was like walking onto a sidewalk cafe for a break after a shopping trip. Food: I wasn't feeling brave enough to chose my own plate, so I went with their braised beef ravioli in pink sauce. Wasn't expecting the mush like consistency of the filling, but I couldn't fault them the freshness of their pasta. There's just a taste you get from fresh made pasta you don't get with packaged ones. The pink sauce was divine and i liked it. Larger appetites will think the serving too small, but was just right for me since I had garlic bread. 8/10 The garlic bread wasn't my favorite. Too much oil/butter on the bread and not enough time in the oven or on the pan for a crust on the top. I was given the option of cheese on top but i passed on it. Maybe i should have gotten the cheese on top as that might have given me a crust on top of the bread. Summary: I left full and satisfied except for that garlic bread. Maybe next time I'll branch out and build my own next time. The menu looks inviting with endless combination possibilities. Adding a protein to your dish will be an extra charge. Build your own pizza is also available tool (They have signature pizzas too). However, sandwiches are not build. your own. Cute little place, just too bad it's so far away as I love pasta. Still reasonable prices for what you get and best of all:mom and pop shop. Happy Eating!!!

What can I say? I wanted carbs for lunch! Ordered a braised short rib pasta, meat lover pizza, and garlic bread. The one thing I was really eyeing was the pasta. The short ribs in there were so tender. They have nice pieces lathered onto the noodles. The noodles were nice and bouncy. They are wide and long, so fun to eat and just delicious. Would order this again! The meat lover pizza was amazing. My kids loved it, nice thin crush, nicely layered with cheese and just an overall yummy pizza. The garlic bread was a 6/10 not crazy over them. Service was good, the gal who took my order was down to earth. I waited about 15 mins until my entire order was done . Not too bad for all that food. Casual dining area and plenty of indoor seating along the wall. There is more seating towards the back as well. I love the different artwork highlighting Orange County. Super neat to look at.

I came to this place because of their reviews, but was disappointed in my experience. The restaurant was nearly empty while we were there and it took 45 minutes for our food to be ready. I understand people have off days, but the staff wasn't very friendly and seemed annoyed when asked questions (ie asked for a water cup because none were available). Braised beef ravioli - 6/10, beef was flavorful, sauce was bland BOYP (pappardelle, pink sauce, and sausage) - 3/10, the up charges on this felt excessive (ie $2 for pappardelle + $3 for pink sauce + $3.50 for sausage), the sauce was not flavorful, the pasta was cooked well, sausage was okay Garlic bread - 2/10, no garlic flavor I am tempted to try their pizza in the future, but would not re-order pasta. The price for the meal we ordered was not justified during this dining experience.

Should have taken a picture before we attacked tjis bad boy.

So this restaurant is a little hidden gem. If you like homemade pasta, well this place is for you. We ordered the three pasta special (penne pasta with creamy pesto, cacioe e peppe and added bacon, and braised beef pasta). We also had the chopped salad. Just delicious. The staff was great and hard working. We will definitely return....who wouldn't.

I came here with family. We all enjoyed our food and service. My sister ordered the cheese ravioli and said it was one of the best cheese ravioli dishes she has had. My mom ordered the cacio e pepe and enjoyed it. I ordered the parpadelle beef pasta and was blown away. Both my boyfriend and mom tried it and said my dish was the best. Big portion sizes. Comes with bread and butter. Pizza was decent. It was warm inside the restaurant--it is September and warm out. Customer service was good. Overall we all said we would come back. It's a must try

Tried Pasta Party for the first time and it definitely won't be my last. The ambience is clean, chill, and really comfortable, perfect spot to relax and enjoy a good meal. The customer service was phenomenal from start to finish. The cashier was friendly and welcoming, and even the pizza maker checked in with us to see if we had any questions about the menu, which I really appreciated. We ordered the fettuccine with pesto sauce and a margherita pizza with pepperoni. The pizza was incredible the cheese tasted high quality and made every bite super satisfying. The pasta was just as impressive. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and it was so well seasoned that we didn't need to add any extra pepper or anything else. Overall, a great experience with both food and service. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

My husband, our 3 boys and i stayed at a local hotel so we chose this place for dinner based off the yelp reviews. I'm happy we did because they did not disappoint. Luckily we were the only ones dining in. It's in a strip mall so it's not that big inside but cute little cozy space with friendly staff. The food was even better! Their beef braised pasta was so good! I highly recommend. My husband and I split that with a Cesar salad and we were stuffed. If I'm ever in the OC I will definitely go back

Like a normal pizzeria with seating into the back so it's not a romantic spot or overly picturesque. There's a parking lot which is convenient. Service was friendly and quick. They have a surcharge for using credit cards. Penne In pink sauce and sausage 8/10 Chicken parmigiana with spaghetti 9/10 Beef braised ravioli 9/10 - all the pastas were a bit on the salty side (prob the pink sauce) 12" pizza with half deluxe 10/10 They have a self serve soda machine but you do have to pay for a cup; they do offer water but it doesn't taste good at all. Their soda machine is all cream based drinks so if you don't like those I would bring your own water.

Food was delicious, but service was even better. The restaurant felt very homey and welcoming and the mini vespas were a nice touch. Alex recommended the short rib pasta, beef braised ravioli, or gnocchi and I opted for the short rib pasta. It was a generous portion and the pappardelle and short rib were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Alex, chef Fabio, and the rest of the team were great because you can really feel the love that was put into the food and restaurant. I will definitely be back!

Stumbled across this gem and definitely will be back! The service was amazing and they were great at offering suggestions. We got: 1. the pasta trio ( pesto penne, beef ravioli , braised beef pasta ) 2. Caesar salad 3. Garlic bread Pesto was good and creamy! Beef ravioli was in a pink sauce and it was good! The meat inside was delicious ravioli. The braised beef pasta was bomb! It had mushrooms in it as well. The noodles tasted so good with this dish as well. They were flat and think. The sauce was perfect on it! The salad was good! I got the side salad size and it was just enough for two people to share it. The garlic bread was fresh and yummy! Love the atmosphere of this place! Makes you feel very welcomed!

Decided to give this pasta place to try since we were in the area. This was actually our first time seeing and hearing about it but after looking at several other reviews, we were intrigued. Super cute inside. We both did the build your own pasta I got penne noodles, and some kind of spicy garlic red sauce with the meatball and my sister got the exact same thing except she got fettuccine noodles. We were unaware that when we got meatballs it literally just came with one giant funny looking meatball we were under the impression it was going to be multiple meatballs. We also got garlic bread. The garlic bread was amazing. Let's start with that. The garlic bread was so good. It had a wonderful crisp and grateful flavor extra garlic, but I like that. The pasta was OK. I literally can just say that the pasta was OK. I feel like it was too spicy to enjoy and the one big old meatball was throwing me off. I ended up having to cut it in multiple pieces. It wasn't nothing to rant or rave about literally the garlic bread was the best part. I would not recommend the pasta that I had normal my sister I probably should have just stuck to something simple like chicken Alfredo. The customer service was really good. I can say that they were very personable. We showed up maybe about 40 minutes before closing yime and they actually did start closing while we were still inside and yeah, not a fan favorite for me and my sister.

Do they have a full bar?

Sorry we only have beer&wine no liquor (not full bar)

Can your dinning room accomodate a group of 6people? If yes, is a reservation suggested?

Yes we can. We don’t formally take reservations, although if you call us 2 hours in advance we can prepare the large table for your group. Some weekends we do get an influx of customers so wait time can vary.

Do you have chicken Alfredo?

Yes we do. We have, build your own pasta :)

The pictures look like orders of trays but no pricing or is this just for presentation?

For catering, you’ll need to give me a buzz. I can explain the menu and suggestions on the perfect catering :) info@pastapartyusa.com or call the restaurant

Are there any gluten free options besides salad?

Yes we have a penne pasta gluten free! You can pair it up with sauce of your choice. Hope this helps!

Do you (or can you) do family style dining?

Yes they do and it's a crowd pleaser!!!

Dry noodles or fresh?

All I can say is that its fantastic food. Im not from CA but when I come into town, I make sure to order Cacio e pepe! Chicken Parm was also great along with the pizza!

Takeout comes with bread?

I think so.

Walking in, you feel it instantly -- that rare combination of cozy and intentional that so many cafés try to manufacture but so few actually achieve. The space is genuinely charming. The kind of place where you settle in, exhale, and stop thinking about whatever was on your mind five minutes ago. Whether you're coming in solo with a book or just need a quiet corner to exist for a while, Ake Larry holds that space beautifully. But the real story here is the owner. I don't throw around the phrase "best owner ever" lightly -- but this one earned it. They checked in on me personally, asked how I wanted my coffee made, and actually listened. Not in a transactional way, but in the way someone does when they genuinely care about the experience they're putting in front of you. That level of attentiveness is vanishingly rare and it transformed what could have been a standard café visit into something that actually felt personal. The coffee itself delivered on that promise. You could taste the intention behind it -- well-extracted, balanced, and made exactly to spec. No guessing, no inconsistency. Just a really good cup of coffee crafted by someone who clearly takes their craft seriously. The pastries and food rounded it all out perfectly. Nothing felt like an afterthought -- everything on the menu seemed to belong there. Ake Larry is a regular rotation spot. Full stop.

I'm not gonna lie though... it is kinda pricey for pasta but the recipes really remind me of grandma cooking -- super traditional, hearty, old-school Italian style. Nothing wrong with that at all, it's just personally I'm more of a pink sauce, creamy vodka sauce kinda guy these days Usually my go-to order is the Chef's Special rigatoni with sausage and mushrooms in that porcini sauce That dish never really misses for me. I also ALWAYS gotta get the breaded lamb chops with the peppercorn sauce because those are honestly one of the best things on the menu in my opinion. Crispy outside, juicy inside, sauce goes crazy This time though I decided to switch it up and tried the Linguine Sarno. It was good overall, seafood was solid, pasta cooked right, but I honestly wish it had more spice to it I kept waiting for a little kick that never fully came. Still decent though if you like lighter seafood pasta flavors. Also quick warning about the calamari because I learned the hard way last time make sure you finish it the SAME day. Once it sits overnight it turns super hard and chewy. Even tossing it in the air fryer the next day couldn't save it lol. One thing I will say is the service can be a little slower than expected sometimes. I usually call my order in like an hour ahead before getting off work, and this time when I got there it still wasn't ready yet But to be fair, the staff has always been really friendly, professional, and respectful every time I come through, so it kinda balances out. Ambiance is pretty much your standard quiet Italian restaurant vibes Nothing super modern or trendy, no loud music, just calm, chill, old-school dinner atmosphere where everybody's just there to eat good pasta and mind their business Overall still a solid comfort food spot when you're in the mood for classic Italian flavors

Good for date night, family dinner, or even a bigger group. Restrooms were clean too. We started with the Caesar salad, then shared the chicken marsala, angel hair estiva, and a side of meatballs. Everything was really good and felt like classic comfort Italian food. Linda was friendly and took good care of us the whole meal. Easy 5 stars for a solid local Italian spot. This is old school all the way, sort of like a living museum of my life in Southern California. I took my son. I told him, this is a living example of the only type of restaurants around when I grew up in Newport Beach in the 1970's. You put your name on a list, and then you speak to a human. You wait in your car for someone to call you. She did. They told us our table was ready. As we walked to the car, I noticed many men wore tyes and dress shirts, even sport coats. The ladies were wearing dresses. We went inside. The inside is covered with Italian paintings and pictures of family member and newspaper reviews and rewards. The owner was there and she was very vocal with her staff. Everyone was running around. The smell of delicious bakery and Italian food. We sat down and boom, they drop some fresh baked dinner rolls and a huge dish of butter. Again, this is the way it used to be: bread and butter were freely given to you. This is my kind of place. We decided to share a caesar salad and clams and linguine. The food quality was five stars. Everything was so good. We decided to get a Pizza Bread for appetizer. We shared our food and took a lot of food home. The food value is a literal "Steal," and we left feeling like we were paying 1980 prices. Oh, this place is amazing. There was so much food for very inexpensive prices. The service was okay. We needed to ask for a lot of things. In summary, the atmosphere was wonderful. The food was incredible, but the prices were legendary. We are going back as soon as possible.
