I wanted to try the Chicken & waffles, but the young lady who was at the cash register told me the chicken wasn't fresh so I would have to wait until thirty minutes for fried chicken, so she suggested I try the shrimp and waffles. she was right the shrimp and waffles were delicious and pretty good. "Enijah .V" was the young lady at the cash register she was very nice and helpful and friendly too, she told me she was the manager at the Brooklyn wafflehouse Bedford-Stuyvesant location 434 Hancock street. , there have three locations one in Crown heights on Nostrand avenue, the next one in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn on Nostrand avenue further down, and the next location on Bedford-Stuyvesant on Hancock street. This location is the Flatbush section. unfourtnely this location doesn't have an indoor place to sit down, probably during the warm weather season there is a chair and table to sit outside like a cafe' . the crown heights and the Bedford -Stuyvesant location has an indoor table & chairs & outdoor table & seats (cafe"). I'll definitely be back to try the chicken and waffles !!!!!. P.S. 1.you can always order on Grubhub, Seamless, DoorDash or Postmates, or Uber eats!. 2. There have different waffle flavors to try!. The outdoor seating looked pleasant. The service was cheerful and attentive. We ordered the Chicken & Oreo waffles and the Baked BBQ Jerk Turkey Wings and mashed potatoes. My wife and I ordered Mimosas, which were fine. The turkey wings were well seasoned and fell off the bone, but there wasn't a hint of barbecue or jerk, which annoyed me. The chicken did not taste well seasoned for Southern cuisine. The mashed potatoes were good. The Oreo waffles were light on the Oreos and came out as pictured, without the whip cream or other toppings that typically adorn a specialty meal. I only mention this because the cost is a bit on the high side, setting expectations up. Our server Kitana was very nice and attentive. It's fine for a low key meal with family and friends. I hope it succeeds even though I won't be rushing back.

Lots of people were coming for takeout, and that was the plan originally, but i decided to stay once i walked in and realized it'll be a cute brunch date with just us in an empty restaurant. The service was great. We were greeted immediately upon entry. Asked if we wanted to dine in or go... and was able to choose where we wanted to be seated because the restaurant only had a few other patrons eating in. I chose a table in the middle of the restaurant. The vibes were good as it was a Pandora playlist of 2000s R&B. We were given menus and ordered our food. The price point is okay. A bit high but not too much. We ordered a passion fruit lemonade and a rum punch for drinks, and then chicken and strawberry waffles for me, and shrimp and Oreo waffles for my date. The shrimp were huge!! It comes 6 to an order, and as you can see 4 triangle pieces that amount to 1 waffle. The chicken was delicious. Juicy, tender and flavorful. Hot sauce and other condiments are available on the table. I had to ask for syrup tho. We hung out for a few after we finished our meal and didn't feel pressured to leave or to pay. All in all, I'd definitely return to try other things on their menu. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 for this one. Because it's walking distance from my home it's an easy choice for brunch for me. A win is a win! See photos below.

This is one of those places where everything on the menu sounds so good and so you have lots of trouble deciding what to get, but the fact of the matter is everything actually IS delicious so you can't go wrong. Also make sure you get one of their Pitas... Legit one of the best I've ever had. It was also mesmerizing to see how fast they rolled and cooked each pita in the wood-burning oven. Waitstaff was so so so charming and so attentive. never had to flag them down or ask for water. Music was also on point and set the tone for the rest of the wonderful evening.

We were meeting friends for brunch, and although this cute corner restaurant has outdoor seating, the staff very kindly allowed me to come inside with everyone. Excellent start. Then the food began arriving. And things escalated quickly. Sunday in Brooklyn is known for its double-stack pancakes, but calling this thing a pancake feels wildly inadequate. It's enormous. It's decadent. It's covered in something magical. I don't entirely understand what happens in that kitchen, but clearly regular pancake rules do not apply here. And Mom didn't even order the regular version. They were offering a special tiramisu version. Naturally, Mom decided this needed investigation. Please refer to the photographic evidence. Then--because apparently a gigantic tiramisu pancake doesn't constitute an entire brunch--Mom also ordered the biscuits & gravy. There was a moment when I genuinely wondered whether we had accidentally ordered for the whole restaurant. Mom accompanied all of this with a green juice, presumably to restore nutritional balance. I'm not sure that's how it works. Dad had the French toast bites with a side of bacon and his traditional Diet Coke. I monitored the bacon closely. Very closely. Our friend Stephanie had the cheeseburger with fries and a green juice, while David went with a chicken sandwich. Basically, every human at this table ordered something that required my direct supervision. It was exhausting. The food really was spectacular, though. This wasn't simply a place that happened to let me inside--the humans were genuinely excited about everything they ordered, and those pancakes alone made the meal memorable. Meanwhile, I behaved like a perfect Brooklyn brunch gentleman. Mostly. Dogba's verdict: 3 paws out of 5. Indoor Dogba privileges: VERY appreciated Famous double-stack pancake: completely ridiculous Tiramisu pancake situation: next level Mom ordering pancakes AND biscuits & gravy: ambitious Dad's bacon: closely monitored French toast bites: Dad approved Stephanie's cheeseburger: impressive David's chicken sandwich: also under surveillance Dad's Diet Coke: predictable Green juice: apparently cancels out pancakes Brunch with friends: excellent Dogba's table manners: impeccable* *This statement has not been independently verified. Would I return? Absolutely. Any restaurant that lets me brunch inside while Mom orders a tiramisu pancake the size of my torso deserves another visit. Next time, however, I would like clarification on one thing: Four humans. Bacon on the table. One Dogba. And somehow I'm expected to believe this wasn't a sharing situation? I have concerns.

You can either sit at a table and scan the QR code to order, which would have someone bring the food to you or you can order takeout at the counter. We got the strawberry waffle, egg and cheese sandwich with chicken sausage, hashbrowns, carrot cake muffin and orange juice. The egg and cheese sandwich was my favorite. It was very flavorful and the chicken sausage we added to it was delicious. The strawberry waffle was my next favorite, although I felt the strawberry syrup on it tasted artificial if there was too much in one bite. The chantilly cream on top was delicious though. The carrot muffin was ok, it was a pretty standard bakery item. I did not like the hashbrowns at all. Very bland and felt more like a plain baked potato than hashbrown. The orange juice was good and is truly fresh squeezed.

But the wait times are very long which is why we decided to give the Brooklyn location a try which was a big mistake. After this experience on 9/30/26, I wish I would have waited for a reservation at the Clinton Street location. Customer service: Customer service at the Water Street location was ok. The only issue I had with one of the staff members is the guy that was making the coffee. He kept putting his hands in his hair and going back to continue to make the coffee without washing his hands. The food: The cup of coffee was served lukewarm with a bunch of coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup. The potatoes were good. But the Banana Walnut Pancakes (which is the main reason for coming) were horrible. The pancakes were hard as a rock, overcooked and dry, and they were lukewarm. I thought all pancakes were cooked to order. I have never had terrible tasting food from Clinton Street bakery. I've been eating at this restaurant for almost 10 years. I would have thought the food would have tasted the same no matter the location. Highly disappointed. The other disappointment was this location doesn't offer the grits on their menu. Ambiance: The communal dining was fine. No issues with that. Conclusion: Perhaps the Water street location was having an off day. But the next time I'm in town, I will definitely wait in line for the Clinton Street location.
