My roommate and I ventured to Hibiscus brew for an outing and we were not disappointed! In more ways than one, we were pleasantly surprised by this place. Firstly, it's super cute, pink, and floral! It's almost tropical. There also happens to be an amazing amount of seating/space (although as someone who used to be in Manhattan, I'm also naturally used to very little space). We ordered the Nutella banana bread (~$5.75) which was SO good. It was moist and flavorful. This was the highlight. I also got the red velvet latte (~$6.50), which was good, but in hindsight I think it would've been better hot. The iced latte was lukewarm. The barista was a real superstar. He was hustling around a very busy cafe on his own. Props for that! read more

They are always kind! There is a warm feeling when you enter. They even let you sample other drinks sometimes. The drinks are delicious. My favorite is wakanda forever. The fruit is fresh. One of Flatbush's many treasures- it's so cute! I love the way the spot highlights the creativity Brooklyn has to offer. I love how the staff recognizes me from the window and gets started on my order before I even walk in. I usually get the blue power when it's warm out. Such an absolutely cute spot and it doesn't hurt that is owned and operated by a Caribbean woman ( Jamrock massive). Stopped in before heading over to the park for an early morning walk and got their blue magic latte that is truly instagramable . It contains butterfly pea,matcha and agave . Nice way to refuel after a run in the park. Pleasant service at this small healthy eats and drinks spot. A menu of different smoothies ans vegan snacks available too. Let's start this by saying this Jerk Chicken sandwich is what dreams are made of. It is not spicy at all which I thought I would miss but surprisingly didn't. It's sweet and unctuous. The Black Panther smoothie was the one recommended by the sweet person who took our order. It has sorrel and blueberries... what more needs to be said? This place is super cute and hella Black which I appreciate. Inside there was a featured children's book by a Black author (love that!) and framed photos on the wall related to Black Lives Matter. It's a quaint little spot located in Little Caribbean just a stones throw away from the S and up the street from the park entrance. Highly highly highly recommend if you're in the area. This is such a great spot and a hidden gem in the middle of a busy block. It's such a vivid and quaint spot with tables inside and outside. I went here for a Yelp Elite event but was mistaken about the date. The owner, Allison, was so sweet and honored it a week early. I had their Hibiscus smoothie (totally worth it!) and a slice of the delicious Vegan Earl Grey Cake! I love Earl Grey and was suuuuuuper excited to try the cake. And boy did it not disappoint! It wasn't very sweet, which I loved, and the cake was so aromatic and just yummy. The slice was also pretty generous. I enjoyed it with a nice cup of...you guessed it. EARL GREY TEA! I have been looking for a go-to green smoothie, and I've found it at Hibiscus Brew! The Clean Skin smoothie is absolutely delicious and had me feeling great. It uses cucumber, kale, mango, pineapple, and banana. I like my smoothies to be on the thicker side, and I thought the texture of the smoothie was absolutely perfect. I also got a slice of their raspberry lemon poppy seed bread, and it was glorious. So moist and fresh. The raspberry and lemon blended perfectly; neither one overpowered the other. The lady at the counter also gave me a sample of their sorrel drink after hearing that I'd never experienced it before. It was such a lovely shade of deep pink, and it tasted wonderful! It was sweet yet tangy, and it was super refreshing. I'll definitely be back for many more green smoothies, delicious baked goods, and sorrel! read more

Paradise in Flatbush. Ya'll Hibiscus Brew is a whole mood. I'll start with how beautiful the storefront is. It POPS and really stands out from other shops on the street with the the tropical colors and flowers. When you walk inside, the store is bright and tastefully decorated. Loved the black art on the walls. The staff is warm and welcoming and gave us an excellent smoothie recommendation. We both ordered Blank Panther Smoothies and Jerk chicken sandwiches. The smoothie was made quickly and was amazing. Sorrel in smoothies is a game changer! They have outdoor seating which is two small tables for two people on the sidewalk. Indoor seating is limited and is a table for two in front of the window. We were lucking enough to get a table outside. It was breezy of and lots of shade but once the food came we didn't care lol. The sandwich was really good and very filling. We came on an empty stomaches and left very full. Perfect place for a healthy weekend brunch! We love supporting Black-owned businesses and Hibiscus Brew is it! 10/10- HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The soft serve hibiscus ice cream is an absolute must and the standout amongst what I've tried so far. The hibiscus smoothie and soursop smoothies were also good, but out of my price range in the future for a not quite a meal replacement portion. Also, when I've had one of the pastries here, it was very dry when I purchased it one early afternoon. I know some vegan pastries have the tendency, but somewhat disappointing nonetheless when I was looking forward to a moist piece of lemon poppyseed cake. Absolutely adorable cafe in Brooklyn! Came here for a Yelp elite event and got the signature hibiscus smoothie which included sorrel, an ingredient I've never had before. It's the juice of a combination of ginger and Hibiscus flowers boiled together- I was able to taste just the sorrel not blended into the smoothie by the host. It was wonderful!
