Great customer service I truly believe they make their cakes with passion. They are amazing and delicious.
I stopped here while visiting the area. This local bakery is full of personality. The staff was friendly and held a conversation with me during my visit. I ordered a vanilla latte and pastry to go. Both items were tasty. I will definitely visit this cafe again, if I am in the area.
Cute little bakery + deli, open space, fairly clean, tables can use some additional wiping down. Fresh pastries, creamy and crispy treats. Coffee tasted smooth. Unbeatable prices, very reasonable. Have 4 tables for inside sit downs and additional ones outside. Staff were very friendly, foods came out fresh and fast. Definitely recommend. Support local businesses!
I've driven by Passion so many times yet never popped in. I decided to change that last week. It's kind of your average bakery Cafe inside, with glass cases with various baked goods in it. It was surprisingly crowded inside, with a bit of a line that I felt moved rather slowly. Meh -- it's a bakery, and I'm not rushed for my sugar dose. I grabbed a cinnamon swirl, a bread pudding, and a piece of chocolate mousse cake. The cinnamon swirl I ate there. It was moist, flavourful, and good. I thought the bread pudding was kind of overly dense and sweet, but ... I tend to like mine a bit less sweet than many places. Ugh. Guys. I'm stupid. I took that cake for later and forgot about it. It was THE THING I wanted to try. It looked so good in the bakery show window. And... three days later, it did not. :( Guess I'll have to go back for another piece. Oh, woe is me! Woe!
Came here with my sister and this bakery and I was pleased surprised. We got the carrot cake, cheesecake, chocolate cookie and tiramisu. The tiramisu was fresh and made very well. When we came they seemed to be semi empty.
Lovely bakery with a variety of cakes, pastries and savory goods as well. I was in a pinch to get a cake last minute for a gathering and passion bakery had a great selection of cakes in multiple sizes on display. I went with the mango mousse cake which was delicious. The mousse and cake were soft and fluffy. It had a good mango flavor and everyone loved the cake. The staff were very helpful in helping me pick a cake and wrapped it up perfectly that made it easy to transport. Would definitely come back to try other items on their menu.
Five stars for this delicious bakery. Originally my family is from New York and New York is my second home. I have to say that you can't find good baked goods around here. A lot of bakeries produce nights looking cakes but the taste is like drek. These other bakeries use pre-made fillings and icings full of chemicals and taste like it. This Bakery on Brookville (near the intersection of Georgia Ave in Olney) is unbelievable. I was just so happened to go to here to get a little something on the way to a friend's house. Never been here before, but WOW, I highly recommend it! Fresh, homemade assortment of sandwiches and don't even get me started on the baked goods... See all my photos. The pastries were absolutely fresh and tasted like they were baked same day, the cakes were gorgeous. I sampled some; as they sell slices, and let me tell you when you have to get a cake for a birthday or anniversary, this is the place to go. They taste as good as they look which is very rare for bakeries in this area. I highly, highly, recommend this beautiful bakery. It's tiny and they only have about four tables to seat 6-10 people, so depending on the time of day you may or may not get a seat but this place is so worth it, I would eat in my car if I had to. It's that good. Reasonable prices and extremely friendly knowledgeable employees make this an A1 place to go!
I phoned in an order for a 14" birthday cake. I heard great reviews of this bakery (and after the fact learned that one of my friends orders from this bakery every year for her children's birthdays). The cake was ginormous and made just as ordered with the message drawn in correctly. I know what 14" diameter is but I didn't know the height, which was about 6" tall and made the cake look so impressive. Pickup was easy. Free, ample parking in the side lot. I would definitely order from here again. I love cake!
We phone-ordered dessert pastries for a family birthday. The pic shows $60 of pastries. When you go to pick up, you are told to wait at the end of the ordering line. Apparently there is no line or station dedicated to expedite pickup orders. They store your order by name only, so you need to know the name under which the order was placed (daughter placed & paid for order but used my name since I was going to be picking it up). Pastries look so delicious but are less tasty than they look. Custard is not classic pastry custard; rather, a more whipped cream filling in every pastry. The pastry itself is tough & not easily cut through. Still, the pastries are on par with many other bakeries in this area, but I cannot tell the difference between those here & those from Giant Food grocery store.

Rarely write reviews however; would like to express how disappointed I was yesterday for gluten free vanilla cake I ordered. Whoever made my gluten free cake May 13th of last year needs to be rehired. This year, the cake was very dense and was not eatable. read more

Our family has ordered more than a dozen specialty cakes from Passion Bakery over the past ~5 or so years. We've always been satisfied with their products, but the past three months have been consistently disappointing. Given the high price of their baked goods (2-3 times more expensive than Teeter or Giant custom cakes), we felt like we had to post a review after three failed purchases. What's worse is that you'd expect a family-owned bakery with high prices to correct any errors they might make--nope. The work ethic and quality have significantly changed in the past few months--they still charge double to triple prices compared to other local bakeries, but for sub-par goods that they do not stand behind. Recent cakes have been dry, and their cheesecake recipe is droopy/runny--not at all what you'd expect a gourmet cheesecake to taste like. Further, their decorating artist must have retired because their most recent creations look like a 2nd grader wrote on the cake. As you can see by the attached photo, the writing looks like a young child completed it--one who did not know how to spell "Chloe." They unsuccessfully tried to correct it. "17th" is not centered and looks weird. And brown for the frosting color? This is not the kind of quality we expect for a $42 custom cake. When we complained to the bakery, we received no resolution. Take your business elsewhere, and you'll likely be able to spend far less for much better quality. read more

Came to them on very short notice with a picture of the exact cake I wanted. Picked it up the next morning and it was perfect and tasted absolutely amazing. They know what they're doing here, highly recommend. read more

I ordered an 8" mixed fruit short cake ($34) and would've been happy to give them 5 stars based on the look, taste and price of the cake, but unfortunately 1 of the fruit toppings had mold on it (which we didn't realize until serving the cake - yikes). I'm hoping this is not the norm here, since I'd love to return. Their cakes aren't overly sweet and seem to be fresh, with this exception. read more

If you want a good tasting cake and not pay a high amount for the design then I would definitely recommend to come to this bakery. I got a couple of quotes on the same cake and they charged be about $150 less. We ended up trying a new flavor cookies and cream and our favorite one Red velvet. We were so happy with the design the cake etc. Definitely going back even tho they are about 30 minutes from my house. read more

Passion Bakery Cafe is a small little bakery found in the Ashton and Onley neighborhoods - it is family-run and has 2 generations of bakers, which I thought was pretty nice. The bakery offers pastries (cakes (carrot cake, fruit cake, strawberry chocolate mousse, tres leches, etc.), cookies, danishes, scones, eclairs, etc.), custom-made cakes, breakfast and lunch items, and fresh-baked bread (challah, jalapeno and cheese, sourdough, whole wheat, walnut raisin, tomato rosemary, etc.). I tried their Strawberry and Cheese Danish, an Almond Danish, a Strawberry cheesecake (I loved the large fresh strawberry halves that were topped that were not overly sweet), and a Tres Leches cake (I actually really enjoyed this, as it was slightly spongy, a little wet (in a good way), and had a subtle hint of the cinnamon). I was really surprised at the price, as it was very competitive compared to other bakeries I've been to! The staff here were very friendly and patient in putting together the orders, and there were some seating within/outside to enjoy your treat(s). There is a lot adjacent to the semi-plaza, but just be aware that some cars do not park in their respective spots!!! +Tres Leches cake :D +pastries, cakes, danishes, and cookies +family-run bakery :D +competitive prices! +free (but, tight) parking adjacent to the bakery read more

In the past I loved going to Passion Bakery. But after receiving this birthday cake, I'll never be ordering a cake from them again. I asked for white chocolate dripping on the sides of the cake. When I got there the top didn't have chocolate on it so they took it in the back to add the chocolate to the top. They came back out and the chocolate was sloppy and rushed. By that point I had already paid. The cake was an eyesore. I got home and the two tiers weren't connected with rods. The top tier completely slid off of the cake and was smashed up against the side of the box. After eating the cake, it was very bland and dry. The frosting don't taste like anything. Very disappointed. read more

I'm gonna give them 3-stars only b/c of my sister who happens to love this place. Honestly, I feel she got ripped off. She'd ordered me a custom 6" Red Velvet Cheesecake for my birthday which had about a 1/4" inch think crust of red velvet...and that was the ONLY red velvet in the whole damn cake! The rest was (obviously)cheesecake w/red food coloring. I couldn't even taste the red velvet "crust" which gives you an idea of how small/thin the crust was. I was envisioning at least some red velvet layers in between the cheesecake, perhaps? *Let me know if I'm asking too much* The good part is she only paid $20, which wasn't too bad, just not what we'd expected. Next time, I'll tell her to take me to the Cheesecake Factory where I know we'll get our money's worth of cake AND cheesecake. Outside of that, the service is excellent, and the product wasn't bad. read more
Excellent chocolate mousse cake; shaved chocolate encases the outside of the cake. A small cake (6 inches) was just over $20. Visited Passion Bakery for just that -- bakery items. Wanted a cake and that's what they had. By quarter to 5 on a Saturday afternoon they had a fair share of cakes left in their display (no idea if they keep more in the back), and a small amount of what I would call Italian cookies. The cookies didn't look too pleasing to the eye, no idea if they tasted good. If your GPS wasn't helpful such as mine: The location of the Bakery is near a small commerce area in Ashton / Olney with businesses on both sides of the road. read more

First time coming around, caramel macchiato was great, however, I ordered a chirríen salad wrap and the flour tortilla was actually not fresh, it felt dry and a little stiff with not a lot of flavor, but the stuffing was fine, the chips felt stale, didn't really have a crunch factor. Also got a strawberry cheese and strawberry danish, room temperature, it felt like there was too much bread and wasn't even with the filling , it didn't taste like a danish to me. It was overall ok but not something I would Order again, I might try something different next time read more
