Finally got to try Sweetz Cheesecake and it was delicious! The texture was soft and creamy and not overloaded with sugar. Not many bakeries that specialize in Cheesecakes and this one was very good, to go. This bakery has cakes by the slice and also offers other types of cakes too. Often specials like buy four slices and get two free deals. You can always order a full round cake of many different styles and types which would save some money too. The parking is very convenient and plentiful since it is located right in the center of a shopping strip. Passing by would be tough to spot since the signs for this shopping center are quite small. We had a recent gathering of folks, and someone came back with about 10 or 12 slices of cheesecake selections from this spot. I think they had a list of what was what. Grabbed a strawberry and marble cheesecake it was not worth the eleven dollars spent. The chocolate was not rich or decadent and the crust tasted like stale Oreo cookies. The service was solid, she was helpful in telling me the prices and flavors they had at the time. I got 6 slices for 20$ and of those 6 slices I got: 2x cookies n cream, 2x raspberry swirl, 1x mango, and 1x Black Forest cake. As a big fan of anything cookies n cream I was excited to try the cheesecake version of it and It was very underwhelming and disappointing. The raspberry swirl was pretty good and might just be my favorite, it seems that the best thing to go with a cheesecake is fruit because it's always good together. The Black Forest cake was surprisingly better than expected and you can taste the fruit that's in it too which makes it even better. The mango slice was unique and different but still decent. If I was ranking the flavors I'd say first the raspberry swirl, second the Black Forest cake, third the mango, and lastly the cookies n cream. Btw I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake, I think it's a decent dessert but it's nowhere near my favorite desserts so if you like cheesecake i can see you enjoying this place a lot. I have purchased from this shop a few times as gifts for others, and Ive been pleasantly surprised by the array of flavors available by the slice...typically, Ive seen cookies n' cream, chocolate chip kahlua, strawberry shortcake (seasonal), blueberry swirl, blueberry lemon, pumpkin (seasonal), plain, and turtle. They also offer additional flavors by the whole cake (12 slices). You can also purchase mixed whole cakes, and half cakes (6 slices) Overall, the cheesecakes are delicious, and they also offer a few vegan options (based on my understanding), and some flavors have the traditional graham cracker crust or a chocolate crust. The customer service has always patient and friendly..which I truly appreciate when making my selections. My favorite flavor has been the pumpkin. Hands-down the best gourmet cheesecake tucked in an unassuming strip mall in Gaithersburg - worth the trip from DC and Northern VA. The decadent Chocolate Chip Kahlua Cheesecake is divine loaded with rich chocolate chips and a thick chocolate crust topped with a pinch of buttercream frosting and a subtle flavor of Kahlua. The Chocolate Chip Kahlua Cheesecake was a hit at my hubby's birthday party, everyone devoured a slice! The fresh Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake loaded with fresh strawberries is also among my favorites with a nice graham cracker crust. At $4/slice, a box of 12 slices for $28 is well worth it. You can't really go wrong here with any of the cheesecakes. They are all sooo gooood! If you don't see a cheesecake in the display case, be sure to ask for it. It might be in the back freezer. I miss those Chocolate Dippers and Mini Cheesecakes from the early food truck days, please bring them back to the bakery! This place has the best cheese cake ever!! My favorite flavor is the fresh strawberry. I'm super sad that it's only available in the summer but it's soo good that I could probably eat the whole cake in one sitting. Fresh strawberry: the most freshest cake I've tasted. You can taste the fresh real strawberries mixed into the cake. It doesn't taste artificial like a strawberry glaze or anything. It actually taste like high end dessert unlike the other types of cheesecake that just taste like sugar. Plain cheese cake flavor: this is also probably the best plain cake I've had. Definitely has a strong cream cheese taste and is very rich. I ordered both of these cakes on the phone 1-2 days before and the order went smoothly. One of the best cheesecakes I have had and it was vegan! I saw this place as I was picking up food from Thai House next door. I looked at their online menu and saw they had a lot of vegan options. The bakery case had only a limited selection, but I ended up getting a slice of the Blueberry Swirl (blueberry puree swirled into the classic cheesecake on a graham crust) and a slice of Key Lime (key lime with classic vanilla on a graham crust). I initially wanted a slice of their Cherry Swirl - however, it was a little weird and disappointing that while this flavor was readily available (the pie was already sectioned with parchment paper in slices), it was strictly unavailable to be purchased by-the-slice as it was not 'sitting on the top shelf' (there wasn't a note or a sign that stated this policy). When discussing this further with the employee, he stated that once any of the cakes run out on that top shelf in the bakery case, any of the cakes on the bottom then takes its place. It didn't seem as if that was going to happen anytime soon, as most of the cheesecake slices on that top shelf were not budging! What was even more confusing was that even though the Blueberry Swirl was not in the bakery case, it was still available from the kitchen's refrigerator in the back... The employee further states that the top shelf's flavors changes often, and then the Cherry Swirl makes its appearance frequently; but, it changes on a daily basis, so it was stated that customers should call the store everyday to find out which ones are available. So much work for a cheesecake HA! Either way, I was still super excited about trying the pieces, but unfortunately, both were just not tasty at all - the Blueberry Swirl had the blueberry puree within, but it didn't seem to have been folded in well, as most of the puree were on the surface. The cheesecake itself was not really a cheesecake, but it was more of a 'mousse' style - runny and no creaminess that you expect. Same went for the Key Lime - the texture was consistent of being mousse-like, and there was not much 'key lime' flavor to it, but just a subtle hint of lime. The graham crust was super dry, and didn't stick to being a base crust for the slices. I just wished we had the similar delicious experiences that others have had... Neither of us wanted to take any more bites so both ended up being tossed. I told them everything that I wanted without a beat skipped on their end. - Placed order on the phone - Paid over the phone with receipt emailed to my inbox and text message to my phone (price for all whole cheesecakes are $25) - I was contacted a few days before to verify where they would be exactly for me to pick it up. - Arrived at time and place for pick up and walked away in 30 seconds. The driver called me the day of to notify me that he had my order and where he would be -- simply reiterating what had already been confirmed. I would rather be double confirmed than not at all. I appreciated the extra mile. Sweetz Cheesecake is based out of Gaithersburg. That is not exactly a short drive or metro ride (not even fully metro accessible) to Arlington. Since they have a food truck that ventures into DC almost everyday of the work week, I met them half way. I picked up my husband's lovely cheesecake outside of the L'Enfant Plaza metro. No sweat! As for the cheesecake itself, it was not overly rich. It was fluffy and light loaded with a perfect balance of caramel flavor. It was so good that we had it for breakfast this morning. His birthday was yesterday. I would recommend them to anyone. They're great with working with your schedule and deliver on substitutions. We ordered a vegan cheesecake ( raspberry flavor), I ordered online over weekend, and followed up the day before I needed to pick up -super easy experience. When I called to pay the next day and mentioned I wanted to also sample a few flavors of dairy ( we have dairy allergy in family but some of us can eat dairy), the person I spoke to said he would throw in a few pieces for free even though I tried to pay for them. Both the cakes were really rich, full of flavor. The only thing I would suggest is if they can add some real fruit toppings - as cheese cakes tend to be very sweet, and that balances out the flavors a little. Stopped in today for my first time and I have to say, one of the best pieces of cheesecake I've had. I had a slice of white chocolate raspberry and It was made to perfection. Perfectly sweet, but not overwhelming. They had about 7 different kinds available. The kitchen is right behind where you order so you see them preparing everything. It seemed to be family owned. Let's just say I'm glad I live 30 miles away from this place and it's bit of hassle to get here because if I were living nearby, I would be extremely fat and won't get girls! I admit. Rude, Rude, Rude! Like many other reviewers I too had a Groupon for Sweetz Cheesecake. I followed the instructions on the Groupon, which specifically said to call the store and order a cheesecake. When I did so, the owner rather snippily told me that they were no longer accepting any orders from Groupon customers because the Groupon was expiring that day. I said I understood if they were running low on product that day, and I would be happy to order my cheesecake and pick it up whenever they were willing and able to fulfill the order. After all I figured, it's a cheesecake store, they're gonna make more cheesecake, right? Wrong! The owner told me that I had to come in to the store and I could have whatever they had left that day. When I asked them what if they ran out before I could get there, they said all Groupon customers were now being served on a first-come-first serve basis and that if they had nothing left, I would get nothing. When I told them the terms of the Groupon specified advance ordering, they said they were not going to accept my order or anyone else's for that matter. I told them I would see if I could free myself up from work to come to their store. As it turned out, I was not able to leave work, so I called Sweetz Cheesecake back to see if there was some way to work it out. I said I did not like the way they were handling Groupon customers, and that if they didn't honor their commitment, I'd be forced to call and ask for a refund. They hung up the phone on me! Talk about awful customer service! Apparently these people are more than willing to take money for orders, but only follow through when they feel like it. I would not ever shop here, not matter how good their cheesecake is! Average cheesecake. Cheesecake is very soft, as in slices are rendered formless. Slices are more like blobs of soft cheesecake verging on pudding. Hard to believe it was even baked, if for a bit. Also wasn't impressed with the crust. It didn't have any texture, so it just got lost and mixed in with the formless cut dollops of cheesecake. Not a strong cream cheese taste, some may prefer that; I, however, do not. I do appreciate the simple, natural ingredients, but some ratios are off and/or they are not baked enough. The graham cracker crust was thin and light enough that it didnt "dry out" the cake. Unbeknownst to me, their store is only a few miles from my house! I stumbled upon the store because I was having dinner next door and saw their truck outside.
