    breakfast burrito

The breakfast burrito is completely delicious. Thank you for the yelper below who put that in their review, I love breakfast burritos and had no idea one could be found so near my house. The desserts look delicious as well.

    Tiramisu 2.22.24

It has been a while since I last visited this spot. I decided to get a pastry (Cannoli) and a dessert (Tiramisu). Cannoli The cannoli I got was topped with a chocolate covered strawberry and had chocolate sprinkles at both ends of the pastry. The leafy green part of the strawberry was not edible, so I had to remove that prior to eating. As I ate the cannoli, I realized the shell was not crispy at all and there was no crunch to it. I don't eat this pastry much, but I am sure it is not supposed to be as soft as this one was - not sure what happened there. Due of the texture, I really didn't get a chance to fully enjoy this pastry as much as I wanted to and left most of it unfinished. Tiramisu The Tiramisu was great. Initially I thought there would be more cream than cake based on the presentation of the dessert - it looks that way. Once I started eating it, I discovered the cake to cream ratio was on point, and I was happy about that. The cream was light in taste and not overly sweet which was a perfect balance. This was more their version of a Tiramisu and I would eat it again. The business is located near the main entrance into Plaza del Mercado and parking is shared with other patrons in the plaza. An updated review on passion bakery! The usual here is generally their cakes or pastries but my boyfriend and I decided to try out their breakfast items. He had the omelette but I had their breakfast platter and a hot chai. I was a bit disappointed as I was told they weren't able to make any cold beverages at the moment so I changed my iced caramel macchiato order. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating to their customers. It is a small cafe so not really a study area for the public.

5.28.22 My colleague told me about this bakery. Her office bought a cake and she raved about it. I was in the area so decided to check it out. With so many choices, it was hard to decide. I got my husband a slice of the tres leches as that's his favorite and decided on the chocolate mousse for myself. The number one factor that makes or break whether a cake is good or not to me is if it's moist, and both of them were. I liked the chocolate shavings on my cake. Aside from pastries, they also serve breakfast and lunch, and beverages (hot and cold). There is limited seating inside and patio seating. Gift cards are available. I will definitely be back next time and plan to try the Napoleon or what looked like flan.

Inside- there are many choices of pastries but cakes are quite limited.

Good bakery and pastry cafe plus breakfast option. A little tiny dining seat inside but there are few outdoor tables. Peaceful place and nice location - lots of free parking. I am their customers for a long time but I only have tried cakes, pastries and cookies. I never have any problem. This time I wanted to try their breakfast because not many real breakfast restaurants around this area. Even thought there is nothing fancy, mostly standard breakfast but overall I was kinda enjoyed them. I also ordered hot Cappuccino, it tasted great too.

I sampled an array of deserts. Visually stunning and equally tasty. The key lime tart was rich and smooth. The mixed fruit tarts were delicious. Reasonably priced. A great dessert option.

    Tres leches mini cake
    Moncerrat S.

Made a stop before work, was looking for a croissant and came out with a mini tres leches cake (they don't sell slices, but mini cakes), totally worth the trip and getting just few minutes late to work. The cake was soooooo crazy delicious, perfect amount of sweetness and flavor. The serving was also enough for a good side with milk/tea/coffee. I've been looking for a tres leches and this places definitely delivered. Don't hesitate and come and try a piece!!!!!

Shoutout to our local community heroes like Elmer!! Hot foods, drinks, sandwiches available too!

After giving up the morning of his birthday, I called Flowers to get their strawberry shortcake, which is very similar to the cake I make. I was able to pick it up at the Hyattsville location after calling several times. The issue was, this is a whipped cream cake, but apparently they too were short on whipping cream because the icing was BUTTERCREAM, which defeated the purpose of calling the bakery. I could have done buttercream at home!!! Also, the workers did not spell his name (Michael- a regular DEGULAR name with normal Western spelling) correctly. I spelled it for her three times in English AND Spanish, and she STILL wrote it Michel. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. She "fixed" it but left the cake smudged. I am madder about the buttercream than the name though because they didn't sweeten it, so it tasted like cold hard butter instead of buttercream lol. You can't make a lightly sweetened whipped cream frosting with butter. You just can't. They don't do the same things. Flowers is a great bakery for a lot of things but they need to make better decisions in their cake baking and their staff definitely needs to take some basic spelling tests because that was awful.

The first bite was a bit of a shock to the system. It's one of those rare "Ratatouille moments" where a flavor profile manages to bridge the gap between Maryland and the legendary sponge cakes of Phoenix Bakery in LA. It's a bit of a trick, really--making something taste like a childhood memory without being cloying about it. The Breakdown: * The Sponge: It's exceptionally light. Biting into it is less like eating a dense dessert and more like biting into a sweetened, high-end pillow. It's airy, delicate, and possesses the kind of structural integrity that only a professional (or a wizard) could manage. * The Icing: A triumph of restraint. Instead of the usual sugary plaster one finds elsewhere, this is a light, white cream. It's sweet enough to let you know it's there, but it doesn't try to dominate the conversation. It's icing with a bit of dignity. * The Verdict: This is how cake ought to be. It's exquisite, technically brilliant, and far too easy to eat in a single sitting. If you appreciate a dessert that relies on craft rather than a massive dose of corn syrup, do yourself a favor and stop by. It's a legit bit of baking excellence right here in Silver Spring
