I got to say this is probably my favorite place for desserts in the area now. Their Southeast Asian fusion desserts are amazing. I got mango sticky rice loft toast, and it was amazing. The warm and crispy bread, the cold gelato, the milky chewy sticky rice, and velvety mango mouse create so much complexity in a dessert but goes so well together. The strawberry latte also was really good. The place is very chill and the staff were nice. I'd definitely comeback again.

Stumbled upon this place on accident and definitely plan to be back to try more of their items! I ordered Sarah's Matcha and Ham & Cheese Bun. The matcha drink didn't have a strong matcha taste, as the butterfly pea tea overpowered it. The drink was a bit too sweet for me but I want to try more of their drinks. The ham & cheese bun was decent, what you would expect. There was a good amount of seating available and my order didn't take took long to come out. Parking: I found some street parking but not sure if they have other parking options like garage.

If you're in Silver Spring and in the mood for a sweet treat, come here! The interior is calming and pretty, perfect for some quiet time with a laptop or book. A quick bite with friends. A work meeting. The employees are friendly and efficient, so it won't be an issue. The strawberry matcha, strawberry croissant, macarons, strawberry panna cotta, RASPBERRY PANNA COTTA, rose milk latte...everything we've tried is spectacular. The only items I wasn't too fond of were the Thai tea panna cotta and matcha bun. They weren't terrible, just a little underwhelming in comparison to everything else. I would recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone. Enjoy!

This was a cute place, just inconvenient to get to (and I didn't have the best experience/had uncomfortable encounters on my way in and out of here. Regarding parking, the closest garage was on the same block, but it had limited parking spaces and was a little scary). Regardless, I was surprised with how cute it was inside! They had decorated for the holidays (I was here in late December), and it seemed like the kind of place where people catch up over a sweet treat or drink. The service was alright. I got my order to-go and had ordered both of the french toasts with a strawberry matcha -- it was for my friend's birthday and I decided to bring it to her. Overall both of the toasts were good, the bread especially!! My friend and I thought it had a really nice consistency. However the strawberry in the drink was really sweet and overshadowed the matcha.

Service: I've always wanted to try Sweeteria but never found the time until recently when I went with a friend for brunch after church. Ordering was simple and quick using the kiosk system, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Our meals came out within about 15 minutes, which was great for a Sunday brunch crowd. Taste: I ordered the French toast with fruit, and my friend had an egg and cheese croissant. Both dishes were delicious, fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The teas were also flavorful and paired nicely with our meals. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was, especially given the quality. Ambiance: The café is absolutely adorable inside, cozy, clean, and bright with a warm and inviting atmosphere. There are stations by the windows, which make it a perfect spot to do some work or enjoy a quiet coffee alone. Overall Review: Sweeteria exceeded my expectations. Great service, tasty food, and a charming atmosphere at very reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back to try more of their drinks and desserts. Perfect for small groups, casual brunches, or a solo work session with good vibes.

A Hidden Gem in Silver Spring for Matcha & Latte Lovers! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a space that is incredibly cute and cozy, making it the perfect spot to catch up with a friend or enjoy a quiet afternoon. What immediately stood out to me was how spotlessly clean the entire shop is. It's clear the staff takes a lot of pride in the environment, and it makes the whole experience much more inviting. Speaking of the staff, the service was amazing, warm, helpful, & happy to walk us through their impressive variety of menu options. We decided to try two of their seasonal/specialty favorites: STRAWBERRY MATCHA The matcha was high-quality & earthy, layered perfectly with fresh strawberry flavor. It wasn't overly sugary, which allowed the tea to actually shine. STRAWBERRY LATTE This was the star of the show! Creamy, refreshing, & tasted like real fruit rather than just artificial syrup. I'm in love with this drink esp since it's no coffee and sooooooo damn good! For the quality you get, the prices are very reasonable, especially compared to some of the larger chains in the area. A huge plus is their reward program; it's easy to sign up, and considering how many unique drinks they have to try, you'll definitely want to start earning points toward your next visit. Overall, Sweeteria is a 5-star experience. Great vibes, delicious drinks, and top-tier service. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Happy to know there is a locally owned cafe with great food and drinks in Downtown Silver Spring area. The cafe itself is located two doors down from the Fillmore across the street from the "mall". Inside has lots of lighting and good amount of seating but is a bit narrow so depending on time of day you may want to pick up an order and go. They also have seating right outside. Staff were super friendly and willing to answer questions on shop items if needed. We ordered a Thai tea, a matcha, the ham and cheese croissant, and the Thai bread pudding. Also got a couple pastries to go. Everything was delicious and homemade. Would highly recommend and we will be back! #thaiteafiend

I stopped by Sweeteria for a coffee before a movie last week. I needed a coffee and a place to sit and read my book for a bit before my movie started, and a lot of places were closed the day after Christmas. Sweeteria was open so I popped in. Sweeteria is a Thai-inspired dessert cafe, so most of what they offer are desserts: honey toasts, French toasts, custard buns, crepes and more. They also offer lots of beverages and drinks: butterfly pea lemonade, milk lattes, frozen drinks... I didn't want to order my standard Americano - Sweeteria inspired me to try something different. I ordered a Thai coffee to try something different. Unfortunately, it was much too sweet for me. I love the smell of Sweeteria - you almost get a sugar rush from walking in - but I'm afraid I don't have enough of a sweet tooth for it. I wish they had one or two more savory dessert or beverage options - something fun and delicious for those of us without a sweet tooth. But it's a comfortable place and the customer service was good. Definitely check it out if you are a person with more of a sweet tooth than me! Everything looks delicious, cute, and very sweet - so it's a perfect place for anyone who loves sweets!

Chicken Kapow croissant and hot Thai Tea Latte
    Jamie P.

What an adorable cafe!! Make sure to check out the menu at the counter before you order if you are looking for savory options - lots of additional choices made fresh to order! The inside, including the bathrooms, is clean and comfortable and staff are very welcoming. The Kapow chicken croissant and hot Thai tea were delish!! Great for a bite before or after a show at the AFI silver theater or Filmore.

Came here on a whim last night because I was craving dessert after dinner, and the place where I ate dinner, didn't serve dessert so I saw this was in walking distance and decided to check it out. It was so cute inside and artistic. It definitely had a cozy and feminine vibe to it. They had a pretty good selection of Thai desserts as well as spins on traditional deserts. I got honey tea which I loved, and crème brûlée cheesecake. That was pretty good, and the employees were very friendly. I plan to come back later this week when I go see a movie. Definitely recommend.

Stopped in for a pre-dinner sweet snack. Staff was friendly although we used an electronic pad to order. The food came out quickly. I had a chocolate croissant which was not super sweet. My husband had the mango cake - light and delicious. Definitely a great stop!!

The mango sticky rice was SO GOOD! I also recommend the Thai tea. It's a really nice, cozy place to have a date or do some work!

Baklava, saffron, old bay, cantaloupe, and more! They had classics as well like chocolate and mint. A single scoop was $6 and was a good size. I got the baklava and WOW. I'm a huge baklava fan and this was incredible. I don't know how they mixed real, delicious chunks of baklava in the honey ice cream without it getting soggy or mushy, but they did and it was amazing! A friend got their dark chocolate and it might be the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had- I'm look at you Ben and Jerry! Some other nice touches- the spoons change color with different temperatures! So fun to watch your spoon change when it sits in the ice cream. They allow one party in the building at a time. My boys and I went in and the young man immediately asked if we were just using the restroom or also getting ice cream-- I doubt they have public restrooms but I was on a trot after 3 hours out-- and when he realized we were getting ice cream, he didn't allow anyone in until we came out of the bathroom, ordered and left. Very safe. Their ice cream is clean, delicious, and their flavors are unique. I tried honey lavender and It was SOOO good until the very end ( I ate a bit of lavender and didn't taste anything else til I was done). The boys' strawberry ice cream was delicious and NOT pink- we avoid red dyes so this was exactly what we were looking for. The sugar cones are just the right size for the small children and they don't overstuff the cones a la Brusters and Ben and Jerry's. These are just right in size and price for kids. They didn't have a "kids cone" option per se (but I didn't ask) we just did a single scoop. That's one thing I'd like- a cake cone (smaller) with a kid sized scoop. As ir was, I got a scoop and a half helping the 3 year old finish. The 6 year old inhaled it in 2 minutes so it's just about right! Overall it's close to home, easy to get to once you know it's there and had great service plus AWESOME ice cream. I cannot wait to try the ginger, coconut, and wild blueberry! Lo

I recently picked up a small Lemon cake and a Strawberry cake from Morning My Day in Silver Spring…read more I was expecting a decent dessert; I wasn't expecting to be reminded that most other bakeries have been lying to us for years. The first bite was a bit of a shock to the system. It's one of those rare "Ratatouille moments" where a flavor profile manages to bridge the gap between Maryland and the legendary sponge cakes of Phoenix Bakery in LA. It's a bit of a trick, really--making something taste like a childhood memory without being cloying about it. The Breakdown: * The Sponge: It's exceptionally light. Biting into it is less like eating a dense dessert and more like biting into a sweetened, high-end pillow. It's airy, delicate, and possesses the kind of structural integrity that only a professional (or a wizard) could manage. * The Icing: A triumph of restraint. Instead of the usual sugary plaster one finds elsewhere, this is a light, white cream. It's sweet enough to let you know it's there, but it doesn't try to dominate the conversation. It's icing with a bit of dignity. * The Verdict: This is how cake ought to be. It's exquisite, technically brilliant, and far too easy to eat in a single sitting. If you appreciate a dessert that relies on craft rather than a massive dose of corn syrup, do yourself a favor and stop by. It's a legit bit of baking excellence right here in Silver Spring

My egg and cheese croissant sandwich, which I ordered with havarti cheese and avocado was delicious. It was served warm. Everything was soft and tender. My sandwich was not overly salty, as well, which I appreciated. I was also surprised that my sandwich was served with fries. The fries were tasty, but too thin for my liking. My chai tea latte was also yummy, not too frothy, and not sweet, as I ordered no sweetener. - Menu. There appears to be something for everyone- coffee, non-caffeinated drinks, sweet baked good, savory baked goods, non-dairy options, and full meals. - Service. The time I waited for my order to be ready was fairly brief. Probably less than 10 minutes. My drink and food were ready separately and did not come together. They call out your name for your order, so make sure you are paying attention. - Price. For spending less than $20 on a meal, I would say it's pretty good value for money. My egg and cheese croissant sandwich was also substantive and not skimpy, which was good. - Layout. The inside has a pretty good space. There are counters with high stool seating, and a fair amount of tables and chair for regular seating, as well. - Location. Convenient, especially to other restaurants and shops. there is also parking in the area. However, be prepared to spend time and money on parking, depending on the day and time you come. What's Not - Service. It appears to be mostly self-service. After you enter their front entrance, there are two kiosks for self-service ordering. On the one hand, it's helpful if you know what you're ordering. On the other hand, if you have questions, their kiosks are not conducive for that. They have baked goods section, which appears to also be self-serve. However, I was uncertain how that actually worked, because I did not see an in-person cashier. - Layout. Depending on the size of your group, and day and time you come, seating can be difficult to come by. Most of their seating appears to be cramped, as well (i.e., many of their sit down tables and chairs are very close together). - Acoustics. They play music inside at a volume that is not very conducive for conversation. - Parking. There is parking in the area, but it can be difficult to find, depending on the day and time you come. On the day my friend and I were here, there was a lot of snow piled up, so finding street parking was very difficult. There are parking lots in the area, most of which are paid parking, so be mindful of the time you spend. There appears to be free parking in the area, but those are not easy to come by depending on the day and time. Final Answer Willing to come back, but probably not a first choice.
