We came in around brunch time and it was empty. Service was great- the employee happily took our order and brought it to our table. The drinks came out first and the bakery items we ordered from the display case were heated up and brought out shortly after. We came for the mango sticky rice toast which was brought out shortly after we finished the savory baked goods. It was delicious! Mangos aren't in season yet so they were a bit tart but I thought it was a nice contrast to all the sweetness. It's a small cozy cafe. We'll definitely be back to try their other menu items!

This is a nice lil spot to grab drinks and some quick sweet bites. Drinks are pretty good. The staff is friendly. You order at the front register or the kiosk and they call out your order when it's ready. It's decorated nicely inside for a dessert place with a few seatings here and there to chill. You can also take some nice pictures with how the interior is decorated

Whenever I went to Silver Spring to visit my friend we enjoy getting a snack from Sweeteria! - Strawberry Latte -- my favorite! The drinks and desserts were always refreshing and visually appealing! The interior is cozy and nicely decorated every season. The service has been great and the workers are friendly and helpful!

The lemon lavender cheesecake was good! The texture was great and the flavor was very subtle but nice: I got mainly lavender and not lemon but I don't mind. The Sarah's matcha was nice. It is a great size. The matcha is strong in a good way- they are not skimping. The flavor isn't super complex but it's a little deep. Enjoyable and easy to sip instead of gulping it down.

Stumbled upon this place on accident and definitely plan to be back to try more of their items! I ordered Sarah's Matcha and Ham & Cheese Bun. The matcha drink didn't have a strong matcha taste, as the butterfly pea tea overpowered it. The drink was a bit too sweet for me but I want to try more of their drinks. The ham & cheese bun was decent, what you would expect. There was a good amount of seating available and my order didn't take took long to come out. Parking: I found some street parking but not sure if they have other parking options like garage.

This was a cute place, just inconvenient to get to (and I didn't have the best experience/had uncomfortable encounters on my way in and out of here. Regarding parking, the closest garage was on the same block, but it had limited parking spaces and was a little scary). Regardless, I was surprised with how cute it was inside! They had decorated for the holidays (I was here in late December), and it seemed like the kind of place where people catch up over a sweet treat or drink. The service was alright. I got my order to-go and had ordered both of the french toasts with a strawberry matcha -- it was for my friend's birthday and I decided to bring it to her. Overall both of the toasts were good, the bread especially!! My friend and I thought it had a really nice consistency. However the strawberry in the drink was really sweet and overshadowed the matcha.

If you're in Silver Spring and in the mood for a sweet treat, come here! The interior is calming and pretty, perfect for some quiet time with a laptop or book. A quick bite with friends. A work meeting. The employees are friendly and efficient, so it won't be an issue. The strawberry matcha, strawberry croissant, macarons, strawberry panna cotta, RASPBERRY PANNA COTTA, rose milk latte...everything we've tried is spectacular. The only items I wasn't too fond of were the Thai tea panna cotta and matcha bun. They weren't terrible, just a little underwhelming in comparison to everything else. I would recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone. Enjoy!

I got to say this is probably my favorite place for desserts in the area now. Their Southeast Asian fusion desserts are amazing. I got mango sticky rice loft toast, and it was amazing. The warm and crispy bread, the cold gelato, the milky chewy sticky rice, and velvety mango mouse create so much complexity in a dessert but goes so well together. The strawberry latte also was really good. The place is very chill and the staff were nice. I'd definitely comeback again.

Service: I've always wanted to try Sweeteria but never found the time until recently when I went with a friend for brunch after church. Ordering was simple and quick using the kiosk system, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Our meals came out within about 15 minutes, which was great for a Sunday brunch crowd. Taste: I ordered the French toast with fruit, and my friend had an egg and cheese croissant. Both dishes were delicious, fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The teas were also flavorful and paired nicely with our meals. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was, especially given the quality. Ambiance: The café is absolutely adorable inside, cozy, clean, and bright with a warm and inviting atmosphere. There are stations by the windows, which make it a perfect spot to do some work or enjoy a quiet coffee alone. Overall Review: Sweeteria exceeded my expectations. Great service, tasty food, and a charming atmosphere at very reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back to try more of their drinks and desserts. Perfect for small groups, casual brunches, or a solo work session with good vibes.

Stopped in to get an afternoon pick me up and had the most delicious strawberry matcha! The barista/server was also very friendly and sweet. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Happy to know there is a locally owned cafe with great food and drinks in Downtown Silver Spring area. The cafe itself is located two doors down from the Fillmore across the street from the "mall". Inside has lots of lighting and good amount of seating but is a bit narrow so depending on time of day you may want to pick up an order and go. They also have seating right outside. Staff were super friendly and willing to answer questions on shop items if needed. We ordered a Thai tea, a matcha, the ham and cheese croissant, and the Thai bread pudding. Also got a couple pastries to go. Everything was delicious and homemade. Would highly recommend and we will be back! #thaiteafiend

A Hidden Gem in Silver Spring for Matcha & Latte Lovers! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a space that is incredibly cute and cozy, making it the perfect spot to catch up with a friend or enjoy a quiet afternoon. What immediately stood out to me was how spotlessly clean the entire shop is. It's clear the staff takes a lot of pride in the environment, and it makes the whole experience much more inviting. Speaking of the staff, the service was amazing, warm, helpful, & happy to walk us through their impressive variety of menu options. We decided to try two of their seasonal/specialty favorites: STRAWBERRY MATCHA The matcha was high-quality & earthy, layered perfectly with fresh strawberry flavor. It wasn't overly sugary, which allowed the tea to actually shine. STRAWBERRY LATTE This was the star of the show! Creamy, refreshing, & tasted like real fruit rather than just artificial syrup. I'm in love with this drink esp since it's no coffee and sooooooo damn good! For the quality you get, the prices are very reasonable, especially compared to some of the larger chains in the area. A huge plus is their reward program; it's easy to sign up, and considering how many unique drinks they have to try, you'll definitely want to start earning points toward your next visit. Overall, Sweeteria is a 5-star experience. Great vibes, delicious drinks, and top-tier service. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

My favorite part is the creative ice cream flavors. Where else can you find cantaloupe or Old Bay ice cream? And they're delicious too! I went with friends on a quiet Thursday night. The interior is bright, spacious, and funky! I love the creative decorations. They had about 10 ice cream flavors available. I had to try a couple because they were so unique! Baklava, saffron, old bay, cantaloupe, and more! They had classics as well like chocolate and mint. A single scoop was $6 and was a good size. I got the baklava and WOW. I'm a huge baklava fan and this was incredible. I don't know how they mixed real, delicious chunks of baklava in the honey ice cream without it getting soggy or mushy, but they did and it was amazing! A friend got their dark chocolate and it might be the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had- I'm look at you Ben and Jerry! Some other nice touches- the spoons change color with different temperatures! So fun to watch your spoon change when it sits in the ice cream. They're located on Georgia right next to Denizens, and It's kind of in the cut and hard to see (well it was for me). If you're coming in from East-West Highway (pro tip: don't if you're driving, the parking there is restricted and they tow) you have to walk down stairs between the 1830 building and Denizens to find it. They allow one party in the building at a time. My boys and I went in and the young man immediately asked if we were just using the restroom or also getting ice cream-- I doubt they have public restrooms but I was on a trot after 3 hours out-- and when he realized we were getting ice cream, he didn't allow anyone in until we came out of the bathroom, ordered and left. Very safe. Their ice cream is clean, delicious, and their flavors are unique. I tried honey lavender and It was SOOO good until the very end ( I ate a bit of lavender and didn't taste anything else til I was done). The boys' strawberry ice cream was delicious and NOT pink- we avoid red dyes so this was exactly what we were looking for. The sugar cones are just the right size for the small children and they don't overstuff the cones a la Brusters and Ben and Jerry's. These are just right in size and price for kids. They didn't have a "kids cone" option per se (but I didn't ask) we just did a single scoop. That's one thing I'd like- a cake cone (smaller) with a kid sized scoop. As ir was, I got a scoop and a half helping the 3 year old finish. The 6 year old inhaled it in 2 minutes so it's just about right! Overall it's close to home, easy to get to once you know it's there and had great service plus AWESOME ice cream. I cannot wait to try the ginger, coconut, and wild blueberry! Lo

Interested in some super premium ice cream (aka ultra premium at this business)? Super premium,…read morepremium, standard, and economy are marketing terms used by ice cream makers. The FDA rules (in general) for calling a frozen dairy product ice cream are: 1) it must have at least 10% dairy milkfat. 2) it must weigh at least 4.5 lbs per gallon. 3) the overrun cannot exceed 100%. Super means the ice cream has at least 15% milkfat and less than 50% overun. Each ice cream company has their own definition, but they are similar. Overrun is the percentage of air in the ice cream compared to the starting materials. E.g. If you start with 1 quart of ice cream ingredients and mix it until it expands to 2 quarts, you will have 100% overrun. More milkfat and less overrun makes ice cream thicker, richer, creamier, and smoother. So, my wife and I came here to try their super premium ice cream and sorbet. They have 17% milkfat in their ice cream. We sampled 5 items and bought 4. 1) Pumpkin milkshake It tasted like pumpkin pie with cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. No noticeable clove flavor, which was fine with me. It was thick, creamy, and rich while still being easy to drink through a straw. It had a smooth sweetness that was just right. A great milkshake if you love pumpkin pie! The pumpkin ice cream was smooth, rich, and creamy with a great pumpkin pie flavor. It was the best tasting out of the 5 we tried. That's why we picked it for the milkshake. 2) Peanut Butter It had a strong roasted peanut flavor with a moderate sweetness level. The flavor was excellent, but the texture was not right. The ice cream had ice crystals throughout, not just the surface. I hope this was a production error and not the norm. Iciness is not acceptable at $9.25 per pint. 3) Gingersnap It had finely crushed gingersnap cookies in it. It tasted like gingersnap cookies with a strong ginger flavor. It was smooth, rich, and creamy. There were 2 problems: it melted very quickly and the ginger flavor was too strong. Less ginger and a touch more molasses would have made it great tasting. Ironically, molasses makes ice cream softer and melt faster. My photo shows the amount of melting that occurred in less than a minute after scooping it out of the container. I can imagine the mess on a hot day while eating this from a cone. You have to eat this very quickly if you don't want to drink it. This is inconsiderate to the customer. 4) Mango sorbet This had a natural mango flavor with a good amount of sweetness, but not too much. There were bits of mango in it which added some tanginess. It was thick and smooth with no iciness. This was fruity and refreshing! The service was informative, helpful, and friendly. They let you sample as many as you like. There were only 12 flavors available on our visit. They usually have more, but supplies had not been delivered. There are 2 freezers with pints of ice cream and sorbet for sale. The store was clean. They had 7 tables with chairs and counter seating. There are no restrooms for customers. I found the sorbet to be one of the best around DC. Some of the ice cream was disappointing in either taste or texture. The iciness in the peanut butter ice cream was probably due to a mistake that was made during the production. They need to check each batch of ice cream before release. The incredibly rapid melting of the Gingersnap ice cream will turn people off. That's easily fixable. Taste is subjective. I just think it's better to have less ginger as opposed to more. The pumpkin ice cream was an excellent example of super premium ice cream. We will return to try other flavors and give the peanut butter ice cream another try.

I recently picked up a small Lemon cake and a Strawberry cake from Morning My Day in Silver Spring…read more I was expecting a decent dessert; I wasn't expecting to be reminded that most other bakeries have been lying to us for years. The first bite was a bit of a shock to the system. It's one of those rare "Ratatouille moments" where a flavor profile manages to bridge the gap between Maryland and the legendary sponge cakes of Phoenix Bakery in LA. It's a bit of a trick, really--making something taste like a childhood memory without being cloying about it. The Breakdown: * The Sponge: It's exceptionally light. Biting into it is less like eating a dense dessert and more like biting into a sweetened, high-end pillow. It's airy, delicate, and possesses the kind of structural integrity that only a professional (or a wizard) could manage. * The Icing: A triumph of restraint. Instead of the usual sugary plaster one finds elsewhere, this is a light, white cream. It's sweet enough to let you know it's there, but it doesn't try to dominate the conversation. It's icing with a bit of dignity. * The Verdict: This is how cake ought to be. It's exquisite, technically brilliant, and far too easy to eat in a single sitting. If you appreciate a dessert that relies on craft rather than a massive dose of corn syrup, do yourself a favor and stop by. It's a legit bit of baking excellence right here in Silver Spring

I got the ube twist and melon pan. The ube twist was really delicious -- I'd highly recommend it. The melon pan was disappointing; I expect a crunchy cookie crust on melon pan and this one was sticky and soft. The bread itself was super plush and soft and amazing, so it would be great if they could improve upon it with a crunchier cookie crust. The bread items were $3-4 each, so not the cheapest, but I was happy to support a local Asian bakery.
