If you're planning on eating there, it has very limited seating and the food can get backed up if it a lot of people have ordered. They were large portion sizes and fair prices, the cream cheese brownie I bought was $5.50 as of October 2026 and it was huge and hefty. Tried Spring Mill bread for some pastry options. There is an array of different options. I ordered the cheese cake topped with cherry and a rosemary shortbread. The portions are huge. The other side of this the pastries don't really have any taste. I did like the shortbread though bland and the cheesecake didn't have any flavor. I didn't finish it. There is also a menu of sandwiches available as well. On this day, I stumbled on this corner store, in Tacoma Park by curiosity and looking for a good sandwich shop for lunch. Instead, I was blown away with an amazing "Cherry Pie Turnover!" This thing right here took me back to some of the best unforgettable baked goods that my Grandmother used to make! From the crispy, buttery crust to the pie filling that was loaded with tart, juicy cherries....I was in heaven. I actually ordered it to go, and the cashier politely asked if I wanted it warmed. Danger! Why did I say, yes!.....This is what was the set up and what got me. Lol. I literally did not make it out of the store between the smells from the bag and the warm pie in my hand. I couldn't resist. I immediately found a table in a quiet corner to savor the moment that was cathartic and sooooo good. They had me at orange flavored scones. And not only do they sell baked goods, they also offer sandwiches. Breakfast sandwiches, cold sandwiches and my absolute favorite sandwiches the turkey with the chipotle mayo.the staff is always friendly, and they never rush me when I take forever to make up my mind. It's a small space, but quite cozy and they do have a sitting area. Parking is street side but it is limited as they are next to a few other establishments. I ordered the carrot cake and banana nut muffin. The banana nut muffin was scrumptious. The carrot cake was moist, delicious, perfect ratio of sweetness, with a tasty cream cheese. Can't tell you how many times we walk passed here and finally today decided to give it a try with the huge sweet tooth I was having. Got an Apple danish, cheesecake brownie and two puff pastries one with leek and cheese and one tomato. The puff braided pastries I won't have until tomorrow morning, but the smell alone was amazing. The danish I immediately dived in without warming it up which usually do with whoever's danish ( just a personal preference) and it was still good. The peculiarly woke enclave of Takoma park is designed and branded to, despite its shabby chic appearance, scream continuous virtue signaling has a little faux downtown/arts area. This bakery is its centerpiece. Shopping here reinforces virtue, but it doesn't mean you will get great baked goods - or even someone at the counter who can pack a bag or box. My purchases ? Undercooked raisin bread, pretty good carrot cake, a so so potato leek turnover. But the atmosphere is nice, and the soaps from local vendors are good values and nice. Want good coffee? The staff was friendly and attentive taking time to address my questions regarding ingredients in the various bread options. I ended up buying two loaves which were dense and flavorful. I ordered what I assumed would be a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and avocado since it was called a melt and instead I paid $9 and waited 20 mins, with other ppl getting food before me who ordered well after me, for a cold cheese sandwich on dry bread. This might be dangerous. A Spring Mill on my daily commute route. I have been watching the construction of this place for months now. It seemed to take forever, but that day came yesterday. I had to make a pit stop here. It is on the right side of the road on my journey home from work. They use to sell their bread in the Co-op across the street, but they wanted to expand and sell sandwiches to the lunch time crowd. I plan to try the melted mozzarella & pesto. The location is good. There are four meters on Grant Ave right next to the bakery that take a minimum of $0.25 for twenty minutes. After parking here I realized I could have just drove down half a block and parked for free. Oh, well. Their breads are awesome! I will be back for a loaf next week. For now, I'll settle for a chocolate chip cookie for now, and a scone for later. Both for just about $3.50. The breads aren't so cheap, but they are so good, and fresh! They always use all natural ingredients and no preservatives. If you buy a loaf and can't finish it within 3-4 days, freeze half. It is best when not refrigerated. So many daily breads, and breads only offered on certain days (I love the Spinach Feta). This will be my carbilicious downfall. read more

This bakery has some widely varied locations in the greater DC area. This one checks in at a hippie-tastic location across from the Takoma Co-op. It's a nice little shop inside, and the variety of baked goods was fairly impressive. My sampling included a muffin, a cookie, and a fancy-looking pastry they referred to as a pop tart.
