If you're planning on eating there, it has very limited seating and the food can get backed up if it a lot of people have ordered. Tried Spring Mill bread for some pastry options. There is an array of different options. I ordered the cheese cake topped with cherry and a rosemary shortbread. The portions are huge. The other side of this the pastries don't really have any taste. I did like the shortbread though bland and the cheesecake didn't have any flavor. I didn't finish it. Instead, I was blown away with an amazing "Cherry Pie Turnover!" This thing right here took me back to some of the best unforgettable baked goods that my Grandmother used to make! From the crispy, buttery crust to the pie filling that was loaded with tart, juicy cherries....I was in heaven. I actually ordered it to go, and the cashier politely asked if I wanted it warmed. Danger! Why did I say, yes!.....This is what was the set up and what got me. Lol. I literally did not make it out of the store between the smells from the bag and the warm pie in my hand. I couldn't resist. I immediately found a table in a quiet corner to savor the moment that was cathartic and sooooo good. They had me at orange flavored scones. And not only do they sell baked goods, they also offer sandwiches. Breakfast sandwiches, cold sandwiches and my absolute favorite sandwiches the turkey with the chipotle mayo.the staff is always friendly, and they never rush me when I take forever to make up my mind. It's a small space, but quite cozy and they do have a sitting area. Parking is street side but it is limited as they are next to a few other establishments. Once the girl handed me the big loaf I knew that this bread is WAAAY too dense because it weighed like ten bricks....I should have tried the sandwich first - I got a Reuben and found the bread not to be light and airy, but really more crumb-y, so really not a fan of this place despite its charming neighborhood vibe. Can't tell you how many times we walk passed here and finally today decided to give it a try with the huge sweet tooth I was having. Got an Apple danish, cheesecake brownie and two puff pastries one with leek and cheese and one tomato. The puff braided pastries I won't have until tomorrow morning, but the smell alone was amazing. This is a small bakery in Takoma park. We got 1. Honey wheat bread (4.5/5) it was little hard for me. 2. Brownie (5/5) it was gooey, crunchy and it was great: 3. This bakery is its centerpiece. Shopping here reinforces virtue, but it doesn't mean you will get great baked goods - or even someone at the counter who can pack a bag or box. My purchases ? It's a nice little shop inside, and the variety of baked goods was fairly impressive. My sampling included a muffin, a cookie, and a fancy-looking pastry they referred to as a pop tart. However-- The Asiago Pesto bread!?! Is to die for. I dare not put it in a toaster- In my household, it can only be toasted on cast iron or in the oven - and must I say- it is an excitement in my mouth I never want to end!! No butter necessary but it adds even more melty in my mouth sensation! I've tried a few other loaves but that Asiago is just top tier!
