I called Yamaha Pasadena today (10/16/2025 around 11am) just trying to order a rear wheel for my 2017 FZ07 (originally blue with black wheels), and honestly, the guy in the parts department was just weird and completely unhelpful. I asked a super simple question -- the model code for my bike -- so I could look up parts myself on their website. He acted like I was asking for state secrets. Come on, it's literally basic info that any parts person should know and be able to provide to their customers. For reference, my model code ended up being FZ07HCL (2017 blue fz07) which I had to figure out on my own (Called a different yamaha store out of state). All I wanted was to make sure I was ordering the right wheel and that it would fit without issues, because in my case I needed to know the model code for a 2016 FZ07 grey with yellow wheels. I was trying to order the yellow wheels for my bike. Either way, he didn't want to provide this information, instead I got attitude and zero effort to help. Ridiculous. It shouldn't be this hard to get help ordering a freaking wheel and telling me the model code so I know this for future reference. read more

I had to have the first break in service done about a month ago on my Mt-10, and I called them up to see what I was looking at. They replied with bringing it in and they could have it done in 2-2 and a half hours, which surprised me. The second I got there they welcomed me and showed me around the place, and also helped me pick out a few things for my bike. All the while, the mechanic pulled my bike in, and did the work on it. It took exactly how long they said it would. And my bike was running perfect. I look forward to bringing my bike here every time I need it serviced, they did a great job. I bought an old Yamaha motorcycle that ran but I knew something wasn't right. It wouldn't pick up speed off a start and couldn't go over 60mph. I'd have trouble starting up and would sometimes stall mid-ride. It's my first bike and I was very unconfident riding it... I almost felt unsafe on it which made me not really want to ride. A dude scoping out my bike at the supermarket reminded me about Pasadena Yamaha, so I decided to see what they could do for me. Patrick in the service department answered all the questions I had and when I decided to bring it in, he handled all the repairs on my bike. He cleaned the carbs, replaced the battery and spark plugs, and did a once over to get the bike running condition. There's plenty more to do, but he helped me figure out phases for the repairs so that I can ride without sinking a ton of money right now. I can say that the lack of confidence came from the issues the bike was suffering. Now that it's in running shape, I'm riding without any reservations. It's literally a whole different bike. Patrick did a great job getting my bike where it should be and I look for any excuse to get out on my bike now. read more

This was probably around February looking for a 2020 Yamaha MT03. Was trying to get a good deal but they didn't budge. Ended up going to another Yamaha authorized dealer and saved myself $1300 for the same new bike. Decided to give them another chance with a 2018 Yamaha XSR700 (new) that they probably been having in stock for a while. Again, all the want to add is fees after fees. They didn't want to budge. Visited this Yamaha dealer in Pasadena while in the area. Unfortunately the Pasadena Yamaha sales manager or sales person I was pointed to talk with by the unenthusiastic front counter person didn't seem interested in selling 2022 Yamaha Xmax's. Had seen them post one in January on YouTube and decided to drop in since I was in the area again and ready to purchase one for small business deliveries. When asking the person some general questions to determine what kind of environment i'd be dealing with if i purchased here, they were evasive and unhelpful. Knowing what an OTD range should be for this 2022 300cc scooter, I asked for a "general out the door price estimate". I was told he could not give me a general OTD estimate on something not in stock and currently on order. The person I was talking with told me: "I add a 135% markup to the $5,699 MSRP because i have to make my money." I've now interacted with six other dealers, all of them gave me an estimated Out The Door price, except Pasadena Yamaha. He said he has "one arriving in March that already has two deposits on it, and the dealership only receives two of the Xmax scooters each year". One of which obviously sold in January. Why would you take multiple deposits on the same bike if you "only get two Xmax Scooters a year," and you already sold one? Especially when those deposits are not refundable? A Yamaha Xmax with a $5699 MSRP should be around $7700 . Which would include dealer markup, taxes (I'm in a 10.25% tax area), fees, some dealers charge a setup fee and manufacture to dealer shipping. When asked if they can give any kind of cash discount, he said "its all cash to me when it hits the bank". It felt like I were wasting the 5 minutes of his time I spent in the store. Not a good first impression. Maybe i didn't look serious? This person told me to "follow them on social media Instagram to know when the Xmax 300cc scooter with two deposits comes in, "because we have thousands of customers so an e-mail list announcement wouldn't work". I didn't ask about an email notification. I didn't ask for a follow up notification. He was doing all the talking at that point. I was not offered or given a business card so I could follow up. When you buy a new motorcycle, dealers are often independent dealerships that generally have a small staff, which means, the sales staff and the service staff are who you end up depending on for warranty repairs and general service. You need a dealership you feel is welcoming, takes you serious, gives you serious and honest answers, treats every potential customer as valuable, wants to sell you your next bike and establish a long term future business relationship for warranty repairs and servicing. I rated this dealership based on the same expectations I have for all businesses that my purchase creates a long term investment with. The rear entrance door says a mask is required, but i was the only one wearing a mask of the four people in the dealership, three worked there, the other person may have been a customer. (Its ok I'm vaccinated, but take your sign down if you're not going to follow your own mask rules.) read more

Finally getting around to writing a review of this place after over a year of this place leaving me with a bad impression. I really wanted to find a nice, honest, reasonably priced place to take care of most of my motorcycle maintenance, so based on the reviews, proximity to where I live, and the fact that I own a Yamaha decided to check this place out. Needed a simple tire change, since I got a nail in the side, and they said they could do it in a day. I bought the tire from them, and asked them to put in a new 90 degree valve since the old one's rubber seal had deteriorated. ETA was two hours, so I took a half day off, and decided to get some lunch while they worked. When I was eating, they called me twice, once to tell me since they were replacing the rear tire I should replace the front tire as well. Told them the front tire was almost brand new and there was no need. Second time, was to tell me the job was finished, but they needed to talk to me face to face about an issue. I go in and they show me the deep grooves in my rear rotor, caused by a pebble that got lodged in between the rotor and the pads on my last camping trip two weekends before. I told them I was aware of the issue, and asked how much it would cost to fix it. They wanted to sell me the rotor for $250 and quoted another $350 for labor. $600 after I just bought an overpriced tire and an hour and a half of labor, all for one rotor. The reason they couldn't do it and didn't tell me while the rear wheel was off, because the rotor would take a day to ship from their warehouse. Fine, whatever. I told them I would think about it, hadn't shopped around for rotors yet. And then they pulled the I can't let you leave with the bike in this condition scam. The pebble was out of the pads and I had ridden out of the Angeles Forest and replaced the pads that same day. I told them it was okay, I would rely on my front brake to get me the 3 miles to my house. The guy then condescendingly asked me if I knew "how brakes work?" I said yes, he ignored me and instantly went on to describe a ridiculous scenario, where if I ride out right now, I would be riding on a rotor with a groove, that would wear out my brake pads to nothing. Eventually the brake piston would rub up against the rotor and I would run the danger of fusing the piston and rotor together instantly locking up my rear wheel and causing an accident. This story really upset me, because it was an obvious scare tactic to get me to cave to whatever service at whatever price they wanted then and now. Anyone else, who either does care how much things cost, or doesn't know that this scenario is so highly improbable, would cave. I said I would have to be completely oblivious to the god awful sounds of worn down brake pads, and the grinding of steel on steel for hours for this to happen. Then he said, hey I'm just trying to help. Told him to just finish the wheel and that would be it for me. He then threatened that he would have to put a big red warning on the work order that the customer chose to ride out on a potentially deadly vehicle so they couldn't be held liable. I said fine, understandable, just wanted to get out of there. Next day, bought a brand new OEM rotor for $20 on ebay. When it arrived it took me all of 30 minutes to get it on from lift up to lift down. It was then when I noticed they didn't even put the 90 degree valve on. If you want to be belittled, this is the shop to go to. I put up with three years of racist slurs. I would call the shop and he would hang up on me. I would ask him a question and if I didn't know the third digit of my serial number of my motorcycle, he would hang up now this $5300 Motorcycle cost $8000 out the door pretty substantial dealer markup but most of it I found out was because Whitey has offended his group and caused pain and I was the one to pay for that pain. He charged me $100 more for a five year Yamaha warranty then Yamaha would charge. It's Whitey's fault. No I'm probably not the only disabled 70 year-old guy coming into the shop riding a motorcycle. Let's go to the good stuff. The owner said he would make up for it. I did $1500 worth of work the first year and $800 worth of work second year and he didn't give me a break on nothing. I've had four flat tires on the front of my motorcycle and the last one I took off and it was the tube was was dated 2013 and this is 2023 so for four flats I think they've been putting in defective materials. I don't know I'm kind of crippled I don't do it myself. The Motorcycle is pretty good it's only stranded me four times of all my bikes. This bike breaks down. Did any bike I've owned in my life but it's nice to ride. do they know how to put an LED beam in the headlight knowing the difference between high and low beam? No twice in the shop telling them it was reversed and they did nothing. I think they need to take this motorcycle out at night on a dark road and look at the beam closely but I'm sure there's a violation there, what I buy the bike again no what I put up with the racial insults no should I have filed the chapter 13 against the company and close them up for good probably should have. So obviously quarantine and the Corona virus has had me thinking of impulse buying. I literally saw this bike for the first time and was in love with it.
