Picked up a nail and rode the flat down Colorado ti the first shop I found. Yamaha said they won't touch Harley's and Villains was a block or two away. Pulled up to find Gromet schooling an ol timer and Neil wrapping up on a bike. Both acknowledged me quickly despite being deep in their own current affair and shortly after backing the bike Neil was working on he had mine pulled into his station. Met Jose, excuse me, Pepe who was blast to chat with. From AC, to Springer front ends, clutch baskets, and mods. It was a good time spent at Villains waiting for my inner tube to get swapped. Cool cats and some nice looking bikes they working on too. I can see why they been in business over 20 years. Fair prices too. Glad Yamaha turned me away that's for sure. read more

I towed my bike to Villain Bike shop & talked to a very helpful technician who seemed to know what the problem was right off the back & sure enough he was right on the money. PePe is pretty cool guy, fair & respectful business owner for what I've heard from whoever knows him. Well I picked up my chopper last Saturday & enjoyed riding it over the weekend with no issues. I was still continuing to experience with my start up's after picking it up from a different motorcycle shop I explained to Jose my concerns he got one of his mechanics yo take a look he found that my c clip which wasn't installed correctly he connected it the right way . he had my bike ready less then a couple of hour's, and the great thing about it he was more concerned about my safety he didn't even charge me .. look forward to going back. read more

I've had scheduled maintenance done here and it was alright. The bike just always came out feeling off in some way. I thought it was just my imagination. Recently, I experienced issues with my clutch. I knew exactly what it was, as the same thing had happened before. The spring plate broke and needed to be replaced. A mechanic needs to open up the clutch to confirm that. I took it in to Villain and told the boss that that was the issue. He said they'd work on it. I asked for a receipt. I always do, and the receipt is always intensely vague in its description of work to be done. This time was no different. He simply wrote "Clutch problems." The fact that the boss writes receipts this way is a serious issue. I left the bike there overnight for "clutch problems" and picked it up the next day. The boss said to me "All the bike needed was a clutch adjustment. Nothing broke. If something had broken, you would have heard it." I won't explain how ridiculous that statement is. I was not charged for the work. Later, I needed my forks rebuilt (according to service schedule). I took my bike to Villain. They finished in about two hours (charged $170). I got the bike back and left. I guess they did do something to the forks, but I don't know what (vague receipt), because now the forks are so squishy they essentially do a nosedive if I brake too hard. Moreover, just braking by itself causes the forks to compress WAY more than they should. To top it off, the compression causes some of the oil in the forks to come out, leaving a line of residue that shows how far up the tubes the forks travel. Secondly, the risers on the top triple tree were left untightened. The handlebars felt like a loose tooth. I had to tighten those at home. To finish things off, I kept experiencing issues with my clutch, so I took my bike to my local Harley dealership and they found that the spring plate was in fact broken and needed to be replaced. I knew it! Not cool, Villain. Not cool at all. I thought about calling Villain or going in to tell them face-to-face that the mechanics seem to be doing poor work, but I figured that might end badly. If the boss over at Villain wants to discuss this further, he can send me a message and we'll arrange to meet or something. But as far as taking my bike back to them, it's definitely NOT going to happen. My bike is my lifeline, and I need people to work on it who will appreciate that the quality of work they do directly affects my well-being. Shitty motorcycle repair is life-threatening. read more

These guys did the top end of my bike. They have one guy that did nothing but talk bad about my bike the whole time, the owner of the place started out acting like a good guy but in the end he's not. They didn't change the oil and then made up excuses on why they don't clean out the old oil. Didn't put the wiring back properly, but they did fix it after I brought it to their attention. In the end I've Learned my lesson not to go to these types of shops, I'm not telling others not to go here, but if you do just go in. Hopefully you have better luck with this place then I did. Jose not only beat out his competition, but was very nice over the phone. Had me drop off my bike while I was at work down the street, and he took care of it. Not only could they not fix my bike (I had to return four times to get their newly mounted carb adjusted and they still couldn't get it right), they also scratched up my cam heads, and worst of all they harvested parts off my bike. It took me months to get this fool to make good on the damage they did. This cat, Jose, will be real nice to your face with lies but has different intentions. 2006 HD Road King my bike was not charging took it in Jose owner and his employee Grommet(yeah cool right) Checked it out told me it was the Stator (not putting out a charge) and the voltage regulator(fried) once I knew I shopped around just decided to take it back to Villain. I'm mostly writing this for the hubby since he doesn't have a yelp account. These guys are great. The hubby had a break down due to a bad spark plug...and lack of gas. They picked him up for free since he was close by and helped him diagnose his bike. Totally saved the day for him. Great customer service, very cool guys. Everyone's very friendly and didn't look at him all funny because he's asian and on a harley. He's been back a couple of times since and I've gone with him. He had them re-lace a 21" wheel (which I got him for Christmas) to his hub. Very knowledgeable people working here with decent prices. read more

Lovely bunch of folks, good with customer relations, but the XL1200 pistons they acquired for my Buell were not quite up to spec. The bike seized out on the 210 one fine day about a year after the rebuild. Looks like the pistons had a compatibility issue with the lubrication system. Pushed a bit hard one day, then oil loss leading to engine death. read more

Drop my bike off for a simple stator replacement. Jose had his mechanic repair/install new parts I brought. When I test drove my bike I recognized my clutch felt to tight and awkward and there wasn't mutch fluid in my primary with now a knocking sound(bike just hit 10k miles). Jose blamed me for bringing my bike in with an existing issue stating that " I knew my chain was bad". After that I left the bike to be repaired Still not fixed,his mechanic(bald head long beard) grew frustrated/rude with me for me complaining about my concerns. When I should've been upset due to me bringing my bike back 3 times. Since the bald mechanic was upset with me and the issues they caused, Jose told me to take it to Dave at Rose City Cycle because they didn't want to work on my bike anymore because it's perfect and I'm just causing problems at this point. When I took my bike to Dave he noticed that my clutches were put in wrong, I needed more oil in my primary and they bent a screw inside of my primary. Dave at rose city customs is GREAT! my clutch feels great he replaced my Fluids, repaired my clutches. NEVER would I go back to villans and I DON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE to go there. I am not a trained bike mechanic but I do most of the work on my bike myself. I don't let anyone touch my bike with the exception of this shop! No matter how big or small the job, this crew takes care of your bike. They have gone above and beyond to help me every time. One time I was on the side of the road with a rear flat (not going anywhere with that). I called the closest shop which was a Harley Dealership. The Harley Dealership was too busy to take me for a simple flat repair. Thanks Harley : ( I then remembered seeing Villain custom cycles, I called them from the cab of the AAA tow truck. Not only could they help me right away, they had my exact tire waiting for me! This was this start of a customer for life. This shop had me in and out in less than an hour. They treated me like an old friend. This shop has accomplished things on my bike other people said couldn't be done. They always make it right and give you that outstanding mom and pop shop service that has disappeared here in America. i was in a pickle when i was riding with a buddy of mine. my fbdx mid shift linkage came undone and i was left with no way to shifting luckily was at orchards supply and was able to make an emergency shift linkage and was able to ride to villains called them ahead told them my situation. rode over, they HAND crafted a shift linkage using a foward linkage i think but it works and shifts even better than before. super grateful for jose and the mechanic (sorry forgot your name) who got me on the rode and towards my area which is Orange county. will come back to get my cam tensioners changed thanks guy!!!! read more
