Just moved to the area and did a quick google search for any local motorcycle shops near me and I just happened to stumble across this one! I just needed a quick chain and sprocket service so, I gave a ring just to see if there were open spots that day. Even on such short notice, Marco took care of me and the bike had the whole job done in less than an hour! He's extremely friendly, and super responsive which is always a plus. We sat down and shot this shit while he worked on my 2016 FZ-07. It really just felt like hanging out at a friends garage while you chat about everything motorcycle. And the best part is you guys, this place is WELL priced! I've been to some other shops that damn near bankrupt you for simple service. I brought my 1982 XS650 to Marco because I randomly saw this place on the internet and thought "heck why not." Much too my surprise, I found out Marco is a SCHOLAR when it comes to XS650's. In fact he had 3 of them in his shop at the time (all different styles too). Everyone here is very well versed in motorcycle repair/maintenance/customization. But what REALLY makes this place is how COOL everyone is. There's not conceit. They don't think you're a moron cuz you don't know how to clean your carbs. Don't recommend his mechanic I left my motorcycle apparently not in good hands because I left it with him and I gave them a down payment and I also bought the parts for my motorcycle and had him install them not yet until I went back a few months later and he had said that I picked up my motorcycle and was so sure that I was the one came and got the motorcycle from him and I do not have any receipts. He doesn't have any hardcopies of any records or anything stating that I picked up the motorcycle which I didn't I have no reason to lie it's just a 300 that's not really a big bike. It's a starter bike first of all, so why would I want to lie about 300 it's not in my favor and regardless, I reported it to my insurance, and he still hasn't came up with a solution or an answer of where my motorcycle has one, so I do not recommend this place. Dropped off my bike after an accident because it was dripping oil but still ran. Three weeks later I call because I haven't heard anything. He tells me that when they were putting it back together all sorts of thing sstarted to go wrong and the bike shorted out. It will be another couple of weeks. Five weeks go by. No word, no "hey, these are the repairs it needs." I text, he says it's up and running. I go in. Long song and dance about how the choke shorted out three brains and he burned through a bunch of parts trying to identify the problem. This all began, mind you, while the bike was in his care, not while it was in my possession. So essentially, in the original fix he broke the bike more. I'm now on the hook for all of these parts and labor, even though he never asked me whether to proceed in his long months of silence. I commiserate, thank him for his hard work, hiding the fact that I'm miffed he didn't ask whether to proceed. He goes back and does the math. I'm expecting at the most $400-$450. He comes back with numbers on a greasy napkin: $809. Bluebook value of the bike: $605. Essentially, I pay for him to fuck around trying to solve the problem that, as far as I know, he created, since it didn't exist when i dropped it off. Then he charges me through the nose, having never run down the price before doing the work. I feel totally had. I feel angry. I now have to sell this bike to recover some of the money this guy bled out of me. I love this bike. I will miss it. read more

Let's just start off by saying, it's been awhile since i've even THOUGHT of writing a review, so now it begins. Marco...good guy..but shady ass work. I have RARE 1972 MOTOGUZZI AMBASSADOR that's a rat-rod beauty I've had for years, never seen a speck of rain, well taken care of & spent THOU$AND$ to make her what she is today. Well... she had a blown out: final drive / rear differential and blew smoke at the left tail pipe. So I needed her up and running quick. El Diablo Motorcycle shop: Before Marco moved to this shop...he had a shop just off of AVE 52, small but you know...worth it, since it's close by my eagle rock residence. His expertise (or whatever you want to call it) was referred to me by a buddy of mine. So i'd thought i'd give this shop a try. What a fuckin' mistake. Even before he attempted the job; In return for his hard labor (really?) I also gave him a 1996 Kawasaki Concours with hard bags, etc. Just needed minimal work (a damn gas line an carb cleaning). Anyway, He told me he'd get my bike up in running in no time. As always, I believe in most in bike mechanics to be trustworthy... because we live by 1 creed : Brotherhood. So trust is not something to be worried about, boy was i wrong. As usual, he told me the problems (which i already knew) and said he needed: Piston rings, Heads with both carb manifolds attached to them (which i gave him both right and left) & rear differential. I got him the parts in a week & hand delivered them to him. As the 3rd month approached (YES I SAID 3RD MONTH) of my bike being there...he decides to move his shop!!! What a surprise!! Thanks for the courtesy call!! I had to call my buddy to track this guy down in order to find my fuckin' bike!! Not only did I find this shop located at his new place now....I find my bike in the fuckin' Rain!!!! THE BIKE HAS NEVER SEEN A SPECK OF RAIN,,,EVER!! Was i pissed??...fuck yeah i was! But... I calmed my ass down (before i blew a gasket of my own), didn't even bother to ask why in the fuck i didn't get a call that he was moving & went straight to asking: "What's up with my bike"? He was apologetic and said he'll get done right away. He did specify that i needed my carbs to be rebuilt (which was BS).... (*note: i bought the carb rebuild kits and placed them in the bike's side tool boxes*) and my brakes needed adjusting. At this point i didn't give a shit and told him to just get it done. So i picked up the bike, thanked him for his time (i was just showing courtesy i guess) & after half a year (do the math, that's 6 months) and the bike ran....it ran...shifted...a smoked...where? The left tail pipe. Genius. Did i take the bike back, nope. I told him the problem but that didn't do shit. He just told me the smoke will burn off since it's they are new heads...BS. Missed an entire summer of riding all for something i've could've done myself. So guess what...i took it to a real Moto Guzzi Expert Mechanic. He found my piston rings to be WELDED to my fuckin' Pistons. YES WELDED SHUT. The bike ran less than a mile and smoked after 1/4 of a mile, so you know that couldn't have seized that immediately. He also specified that the carbs hadn't been rebuilt, bike is running rich as hell, the brakes haven't even been tampered with and the rear drive isn't seated properly. So Once again I spent $3k for parts and labor to have this mechanic fix my Beauty. My Moto Guzzi may be a pain in the A$$ but i love her to death. Oh and did i get my old parts back from El Diablo? Sure did,...with one carb mainifold missing, checked the side tool boxes ....low and behold...the carb rebuild kits were still there....still new!! Anyways....i'd like to thank Marco for not only showing me how some shady ass mechanics work...but most importantly....pushed me to learn how to work on my own bikes. It's amazing how youtube has gone a long way. Not only do I have the same Moto guzzi Ambassador still running strong, but i have increased my heard to 5 more bikes, built several bikes (choppers, bobbers, street fighters etc) for buddies of mine & fix bikes for other riders. This Brotherhood is a Very small community and everyone knows everyone. Just My 2 Cents. read more

Had a problem with a stripped bolt and Marco took care of it quickly and diligently. None of the damage I was expecting to come from removing that bolt happened. Really cool guy and great shop. DO NOT BRING YOUR BIKE TO EL DIABLO!!! READ THIS FIRST!! Ok, so let me start by saying I am not too experienced in motorcycles. This is my second bike. I bought it off a guy not running. Did my best to get ur up an going, but ultimately needed a mechanic. This is always a crap shoot because la is full of random shops with ok reviews. I found el diablo on yelp about 8 miles from my house. 5 stars at that time, 10 reviews. Awesome right? So I call and speak to the owner Marco. I tell him I need a tune up, an my wiring harness double checked. Plus a front Blake bleed and a nut removed I stripped. That's it. He assures me this can easily be done and to bring my bike on in. So I have it towed there "100$". (First mistake, now he knows I am at his mercy) Marcos informs me that it will take him two weeks because he is backed up with bikes. Ok.. why didn't u tell me this over the phone?? Fine. How much? He doesn't know right then. He will call me in a couple days... ok... so I leave the bike. Two weeks go by. I here nothing. I call him 15 days later. "Oh yea here are some problems can u come by an check em out so I can show you"? Is what Marco tells me.. ok. So I show up next day. He has done nothing to the bike, and tells me my carbs are leaking, and I need a 280$ carb job, plus he will do the breaks, wiring and tune up and bolt removals as planned. All for 580$. Ugh. That's a lot! But I agree because I am so excited for the bike. Plus it's 100$ to tow it somewhere else. So i reluctantly agree. He tells me about another week. So I leave the bike. A week goes by I hear nothing. I call 7 days later. Again he is very short over the phone, and says to come in to the shop AGAIN because there is ANOTHER PROBLEM THAY HE FOUND... so I come in. This time the bike is all hooked up. He tells me he worked on the wiring for over three hours. Did the carbs bleed the breaks but couldn't remove the nut. But NOWWW All of the sudden I have a huge oil leak from my Clutch arm coming from the engine. And that is gonna cost me 180$ for him to replace. Because he has to take out the side cover replace a gasket yada yada. F&:):&;@('!!! What am I gonna do at this point. It's too bad to ride. I am at his mercy again. I agree. ANOTHER week goes by. I have to call him AGAIN!! "Oh yea it Los ready man" his only response. I show up. He starts the bike. Runs fine. He goes in the shop. I try an start it. Won't start. He comes out. Won't start. Now the Solenoid is out. AN needs to be replaced. Luckily I had a spare at home an didn't need to order a replacement like he suggested. So he only lends me tools to remove it myself.. I have no idea what I'm doing but get it done. Then it runs I pay the 180 an get it home. To where two days later it dies again. I research the seal he just replaced, does NOT require engine case removal, just an easy swap out for a 7$ rubber seal! I check the wiring. He didn't even touch it!!! If your following he charged me three hours of wiring work for 70$ an hour. SCAM!! and then my CARBS STARTED LEAKING! Long story short had a mechanic buddy come over to my place. Bought him a bunch of beer. An he tuned her up and had her running great in less than an hr. THIS GUY IS A SCAM. DO NOT BRING YOUR BIKE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY FOR WORK HE WILL NOT DO OR HALF ASS. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY read more

I took my cr125 into Marco's shop to have a tune-up done since it had been sitting for over a year. I asked him to change the fluids, check the compression, clean (or rejet the carb if needed), and make sure the bike was safe for me to go ride out in the mountains alone and not get stranded. I go to pick the bike up and he said that it was a little more labor-intensive then he planned, so I'd have to pay a little more. Whatever - he's a cool dude, sometimes it happens - no beef. I get the bike home and the fork seals are completely blown (something that should've been checked on when I asked for the bike to have a solid once over) so I take the bike back to have the seals replaced. Tells me they're special order blah blah blah, I'll need to leave my bike for the week. Well, two weeks go by (since he wasn't open two Fridays in a row for some reason, which was the only day I could leave work early and get it) and I go pick the bike up on my way to head up to the mountains to ride. I pull up at the cycle park an hour later ready to ride, and what do I see at the bottom of my trailer? A pool of fluids. I investigate and sure enough, seals were blown. Pack the car back up and drive it right back to drop it off, Marco's said that maybe the seals were old (dude, you just ordered them) and he'd fix it. Got my bike 2 weeks later (again) and sure enough, they still leak. Not as bad but still bad. Also, the bike leaks gas like crazy after it gets warmed up, so he either did a poor job on jetting the carb or just didn't do anything. Check the spark plug, the bike is running super-rich and there's for sure a compression leak somewhere because after running the bike for more than 20 minutes you can no longer kick start it (only bump). At this point, I wasn't sure what was going on so I asked if he could just fix the seals, rebuild the top end, and reevaluate the carb - it's been 2 months and he still won't schedule a time to work on it. Either won't get back to me or just doesn't reply to voicemails. Finally got him on the phone and not only does he act like he doesn't remember me but he quotes me $900 JUST for a top-end rebuild. Other shops in the area all quoted under $500 for parts and labor. So after almost a year of trying to work with Marco's, giving more and more money, I still have a leaking carb, leaking forks, a worn top-end, and still need to take the bike to another shop to get everything fixed. Missed out on months of riding because this dude couldn't get it together. Marco's is actually a cool guy - but no personality traits can make up for this lack of professionalism and blatant disregard for the customer's time and money. read more
