I've been on Yelp for 9 years and I've written 3 reviews; clearly I don't do this often. However, my recent visit to AdvMotoTech is going to change that statistic. I was visiting the LA area from out of town and had a hard part failure on one of my bikes. One of the first things I did was search around on Yelp, which is how I found Ryan's shop. I gave him a quick call and he gave me an immediate, no-BS assessment: there's no telling what it could be, unless he opens it up and looks at it. AdvMotoTech is now my "GO TO motorcycle repair shop"! Reading the other great AdvMotoTech reviews here I decided to try them for repairs on my Triumph Bonneville SE. I had a stand-still tip over in my driveway. I was tired, (I blame being morning tired pre-coffee) and thought the kickstand was down, it wasn't. Arrrg!! At the time I only saw a slightly bent clutch lever and cosmetic damage to the left bar end mirror. But after riding it awhile the bent clutch lever was getting on my nerves and then the toe gear shift flew off. So I needed to get the bike checked out. I started looking for a new shop because I was frustrated with the dealer I had been going to. The dealer's service started declining and after the best service manager left, I could no longer even get the dealer's service dept on the phone. And the dealer's service Dept didn't return my emails either. So I'm grateful to find AdvMotoTech. I called Ryan on Tuesday about replacing a bent clutch lever and to fix the toe gear shift that came loose while riding. He suggested he look at the bike to determine which parts might need ordering before dropping the bike off, but only if convenient for me. I'm off work this week so it was. I rode over, he inspected and immediately fixed the toe gear shift. Saved me from ordering a new part. Once I was there I also asked him if my rear tire had any life left. I knew it was worn past the wear bar indicators. He said what I thought, that I needed a new rear tire. He said the front was still ok. So he ordered me a new clutch lever and rear tire. Said the parts should arrive the next day or two and I rode back home. I got a call from Ryan the next day that one part was in and the other should arrive Thursday. So I dropped of the bike Wednesday eve and just picked it up today - 2 days later. Voila! All fixed!! Ryan gave me incredible service. He treated me with respect and answered all my questions. He gave superb quick service and got me and my bike back safe on the road. And the shop is conveniently located in Glendale. AND he installed my new adjustable clutch lever at the setting my previous lever was set at. I have smaller hands so I appreciate this. I've had other shops install after market levers on my other bikes at a farther reach setting which probably matched the mechanic's big hands. This shop is not especially friendly. I had work done there a few years ago and the behavior was as if they didn't want the business. Recently I stopped by and was asking if any of their bikes were for sale. The person was very dismissive and ended the convo saying 'this is not the place for you'.
