So long story short I recently bought a Harley iron 883 and needed it's 5k service as well as an inspection and let me just start by saying I feel like Im riding a brand new bike from the moment I left the shop I could feel the power on my bike just changed dramatically. Just purchased a used WR450F and needed a basic tune up and new tires installed before my first ride. Roy told me he was backed up with jobs but promised to get the work done in time. Not only did he do that, but got the job done early AND noticed some minor frame alignment issues and handled that free of charge. Roy doesn't just treat you like another number. He talks to you. He explains what he's doing. He actually seems like he cares about your bike, and about you as a customer. I went in for an oil change (day 1) on my '02 Yamaha XVS1100. They told me it would be ready "soon." I ran a couple of errands, then came back around an hour and a half later, but it wasn't done. No problem. I told him I'd be back the next day. The next day (day 2), I came back to pick up my bike. I paid for the oil change. He walked me out and then remembered to show me that my front brake pads were almost completely gone. He didn't have the pads in stock, but told me they would be in the next day if I wanted him to place the order. I agreed and then headed home. The next day (day 3) I came back and paid for the brake job. Roy told me that he took it on a test ride to make sure everything was good. Then he told me that he didn't like the way my bike felt, so he made some adjustments. He told me if I didn't like the adjustments, I could always bring it back and have them reversed. Who does that? Who goes above and beyond- especially when they aren't charging you any extra? Not many people these days. I rode my bike home, and really appreciated the extra fine-tuning he performed. It handles much better now. Under average circumstances, I would have taken a star away for the inconvenience of driving all the way to Newhall from Sylmar just to find out that my bike wasn't ready (or needed more work). Making a simple phone call while working on my bike would have saved me the trip- BUT it's a small shop. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest and simple oversight. Why am I doing that? Because you just don't find businesses these days who go out of their way for the customer like Roy did. I've never taken my car to a repair shop and had them perform fine-tuning tweaks on their own. They always suggest things, but of course want to charge for the service. I will return to Roy for all my bike repair needs! read more

I went into Roy's Cycle about one month after I bought my first real motorcycle, a Kawasaki Ninja 250. My horn had stopped working, so I went in to see if they could fix it. Well he fixed the horn in about 30 seconds, and informed me that my engine was falling out. He tweaked my entire bike in about 10 minutes, and it felt like a different (MUCH SAFER) vehicle. He informed me that I needed to replace my rear tire soon (which other shops had told me as well) and that I needed a new sub frame (since part of it was literally missing). He ordered it, and it was there within 2 days. They replaced the tire, and they noticed a tight spot in the chain. They showed it to me, and it was obviously dangerous, so they replaced it quickly. As if enough hadn't happened that week, my front brake seized after sitting outside my gym in the heat. Roy looked at it, investigated, and found that someone had tried to grind down a brake lever to match my model, but it wasn't stock and had the brake stuck. He got me a new lever, and replaced the brake fluid within half an hour. My sub frame came in the day after we ordered it, and he installed it, painted over a little chipped paint, changed out my cracked blinkers, and gave it a quick oil change all in less than an hour. Basically, I bought a terrible bike with a ton of problems unknowingly, and without Roy's expertise, I probably would be dead right now. He's a great guy, and you really, REALLY can trust him. He's not going to overcharge you, and he gets the job done very quickly. 2 other motorcycle shops let me LEAVE when it was totally messed up, without saying a word about any of the problems... I cannot thank him and his team enough! I would recommend Roy's to anybody that I know. Whether you have a scooter/street-bike/cruiser/ATV, whatever, take it in. He will know what to do. read more

Roy and his team really have it together. I brought in 3 bikes and 2 quads for service. In addition to providing a complete service (oil, filter, air system, plug, valve adjustment and lube - as required) Roy reviewed proper function and tolerances for each system and made recommendations based on need. As a result, my bikes are running as good as new. Further, my WR 450 was spitting oil out of the breather tube which I though was the result of a bad valve. Don't get me wrong, Roy is a really nice guy. We sat there and chatted about bikes for about 45 minuets. He really knows his stuff. I wanted to get my enduro that I had just bought a tune up and ran through to make sure everything was up to shape and running. Nothing was falling apart etc etc. so Roy's tells me that he has this special that he does that I believe is somewhere in the ball park of $110-$130 it's a list of things that he does to the bike like a punch list of some sort. He sold me on that. Cool. I also wanted my carb cleaned and adjusted rite because my bike would bog at high speeds. So I will get to the point. My bike still bogs at high speeds after he said he rode it and that the bike was great. The icing on the cake was that in his punch list that he sold me on said that he would tighten all the spokes if needed be. So I get the bike back 2 days later. I have to ride it to Palmdale. I end up getting a flat in the middle of no where on Sierra hwy. I look to see how and sure enough a spoke is in my tire. Pierced all the way though. So I'm checking all my spokes and almost every single one is loose.!! Popped my tire going 60mph. Could have been really bad. So now I had to get it towed to another shop and get a new tire plus new spoke and get them all tightened. Another $160 down the drain. It all could have been prevented if the guys would have just done their job... And if Roy wasn't such a nice guy, this would have been a 1 star review read more
