I drive from Bear Valley Springs near Tehachapi for Gary to work on my bikes. He always goes the extra mile. He recently recommissioned a limited edition Triumph of mine from the 90s which required him doing research and dealing with Triumph directly. The bike may just run better than it did when new. Brought my newest bike (Yamaha Tracer 900 GT) to Gary for the first time. I had foolishly attempted to install my own new crash bars without professional supervision and ran into trouble. I brought the bike to Gary and he cheerfully showed me what I had done wrong, and how to fix it. I ended up having him install the crash bar, and do an oil change which was due anyway. The whole thing came out cheaper than just an oil change at other shops I've tried. My friend brought his KLR650 here with some rough-running problems. Gary took it in, found it was an issue with the carb diaphragm or something (I don't know anything about carbs), and got the bike out running again. Proof in the pudding, my buddy and I rode a 200-mile loop through Ojai, Oxnard, Malibu, and back to LA last weekend and everything was breezy. Thanks Gary!! read more

Thank you Gary for giving my BMW R9T it's first oil change. His service is very good and quick. He also adjusted my rear suspension to lower my bike a little so that I won't be on tip toe too much when stationary and accidentally dropping the bike. I liked Gary (the owner and chief-mechanic) straight-away and he identified the new tires in my hands from 10 paces; Michelin Pilot Pures! Gary seems honest and no-nonsense to me and Gary is ex-Marines (with a specialty in VTOL aircraft repair). If he can work on Harriers, he's probably got a good bit of technical acumen and I am inclined to trust him with my GSX-R 750. Those Harriers are tough to fly, so they have to operate perfectly. Harrier mechanics have to be good! I value mechanics who have an attention to detail and also want to know that my mechanic is going to treat my bike as well as I would treat it...or even better. Gary keeps a clean shop and despite the slightly difficult-to-find shop location, he got the tires replaced in no time. The waiting-room was quite nice too, and Gary was friendly and conversational but always focused on the task at hand. I really appreciate his willingness to talk about his former Harrier mechanic job too (without giving away national secrets) as I found that quite fascinating. This was just my first visit, but it was also my way of sampling the service/work for next time. I will definitely be giving Gary more business in the future when it comes to working on my beloved Gixxer 750. I will tackle a lot with my bike, but there's a lot I can't/won't do and I am glad good mechanics like Gary are around. Finally, Gary's prices are very reasonable. That's a big deal too and it's noticed and appreciated. I'm thinking some improved-brakes for the bike next. :) Highly-recommended! --- UPDATE: Got some 90-degree valve stems installed by Gary. Fantastic job, but the most impressive bit is that he was able to pry-off a GoPro adhesive baseplate from the middle of my tach, after I busted skin on fingers trying to do it and failing. I have a massive GL1800 that takes up too much room in any shop and it was down-time where special parts were needed.. so called around first. After reviewing several shops, including the arrogant dicks at Honda.. I spoke with Gary. I explained my situation where Honda didn't recommend replacing some parts, and I wanted to do that regardless.. Gary was not only accommodating, he agreed this was a good idea. Extremely kind conversation, very welcoming.. then he recommended he gets the parts up front without ever seeing me in person.. wow.. I'm sold for life on the above points alone. So it's my turn.. trailered the big bike and headed over.. Gary comes out from his busy shop and lends a hand unloading the beast.. wow again.. and thanks man! During his service he called me a few times recommending R&R on a few things he found along the way.. now that's what I call a pro.. no BS.. just concerned for my safety.
