Fair Oaks Smog Test was the last place I tried and went back three times. Albert told me a certain formula to make the 8th part of my catalytic converter kick on but I could never accomplish it perfectly. I left the car with him overnight so he could try the formula and hopefully have success. It worked and I did cry after trying for so long from December 2025 to June 2026! Albert was very kind and knowledgeable, the location is perfect and I will be back every time I need a smog test. I highly recommend Fair Oaks Smog Test. Thank you so much Albert!

In the meantime I have the verified paperwork that my car passed and he processed it via his computer with the state of CA.

The technician told me my car requires synthetic oil (it doesn't), so an oil change would cost $120? When I said it's never received synthetic oil in 17 years, the technician said they were out of conventional oil. I said, "Okay, no big deal. Nevermind." At that point, he changed his story and said conventional oil was in stock, but the oil change would still cost $90. I declined again. Only then did he tell me my car had already been drained of oil, the implication being that leaving without paying for a service I hadn't authorized was not optional. At this point, another technician came over and became confrontational, repeatedly asking, "You asked for an oil change, right?" When I told him I wasn't paying $90 for a simple oil change, he said, "Well you're going to have to pay for four quarts of oil." I then pointed out they hadn't put any oil in my car, so they couldn't charge me for anything. No service had been rendered. The technician then said, "Well, the manager just went on lunch. You'll have to wait until he gets back." I said I wasn't waiting for anyone, and I wasn't going to sit in my car indefinitely because they began work before providing a quote. I wasn't going to be strong-armed into a price I never would've agreed to had they been upfront. I told him I was calling the police. The technician said, "Go ahead, call them!" It was astonishingly unprofessional. The California Automotive Repair Act requires shops to provide a clear price estimate for parts and labor before beginning a job. Work cannot legally commence until the customer provides authorization. Based on my understanding, the events I experienced violated that law and my right as a consumer to make an informed decision before any repairs. Upon my mention of the police, another technician filled my car with enough oil to take it elsewhere where I got a standard oil change for $56 after tax. I would recommend avoiding this place, especially for those vulnerable to high-pressure sales tactics. I'll be reporting them to the Bureau of Automotive Repair.

But as it turns out, it was quite early for an oil change and I didn't need it. They reset my car system sensor so the alert disappeared and sent me on my way, no charge. This was my second time visiting, and I think it'll be my go-to for car maintenance from now on. I'll gladly support this business.

Visited today 3/17/2026, after speaking with Matt the day before. I brought in brand new 21 inch Tesla rear wheels and Michelin PS4 tires for installation on my car. I drove over an hour from Chatsworth, California to this location so that they could use the Hunter Revolution machine, specifically to avoid damaging my wheels. Nevertheless, Matt, if it's his real name, severely damaged my new wheel near the wheel center cap area with the machine that was made to avoid this. How incompetent!!! He lied to my face and gave dull, illogical, dummy excuses about what happened. Bottom line: He damaged the wheel and would not acknowledge and take accountability for his actions. I had to call the police to make a record of this issue because I will be suing. The damage was caused because he did not apply the machine's plastic adapter when he clamped onto the face of the wheel; he clamped to the face of the wheel with metal to metal contact and severely damaged the paint. You can share with them that you are not sure if the car will pass smog and they can try to do a few basic things to gauge right off the bat which we appreciated. Other places may do re-test for free if you do the initial smog check with them (but possibly higher in overall price) so keep that in mind.

Before I could make a decision, one of my rotors unfortunately snapped while driving, and I immediately called P&W. They ordered the parts the same day and had my car fixed within about 5 hours, replacing all four brake pads and all four rotors for around $1100. This seemed reasonable compared to the BMW dealership quote of $800 for just the rear brake pads alone. Dennis also did a thorough inspection, pointed out a few future issues to keep an eye on, and told me he'd keep everything noted in my file for when I'm ready to tackle those repairs. The team there was super communicative and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place if you need repairs.

I recommend bringing your own microfiber towel to clean the outside of your car, which will make the job much easier. I would come here for a wash again if I am in the area.

I was fine with it and then had the service done. I paid and left. When I got home, I looked over the bill and saw that it was higher than what was quoted through Yelp for the pads. I contacted the owner and he said that he gave me a verbal quote and then said he gave me better pads( which is not reflected on the invoice or told to me prior to the work was done) and then went back to he gave me a verbal quote for the difference in price. The verbal quote he told me he gave was not even the price he charged me. Overall the service was good and quick. The quoting and charging was my issue. I will take ownership that I didn't inspect the final invoice before paying but I still think that the business owner should have honored his original quote and if an upgraded part was used and was billed (according to the owner) then should be approved beforehand.

Before entering the wash, another attendant helped ensure our car was in the correct position and we had our car on neutral. The entire car washing process was like 2 minutes. We then drove to the vacuum area. Our car was really dirty when it went in the wash. Car came out clean, but there were spots that were dirty. They were selling microfiber clothes for $1 each. Had to use our own cleaning spray to spot clean the car. We were able to vacuum the car in peace and took our time doing so. Liked that there were empty trash cans in each vacuum space. We used their restroom and it was super clean. Make sure to ask for the restroom code first. Overall, the whole experience was pleasant. Felt pricing was a little high. Might be worth it to get their monthly subscription.

If I could give this place a negative or 0 star I would. This is only for the oil change experience I had here. We were in the area visiting family and I had a little time to kill. Asked our family and they highly recommended going to this place for a oil change and "free" car wash. Drove over and right up to the guys that checked in my car. Walked over to the oil center part and handed the guy my slip. He asked what kind of car and year, a 2 year old Toyota RAV4. He then guesses what type of oil it needs. Then takes what seems like over 5 minutes to guess what the price is, all while I'm standing there. He then says it's going to be $150 for the oil change. I told him that's ridiculous and I'll take my business elsewhere. He then says, "fine whatever you want to do!" To put this in perspective, the place that we normally goes is at most $50. They also look up on their system exactly what oils is needed and how much oil is needed. How is it 3x more at this place? You would have thought we brought them a Mercedes or Ferrari for how much he wanted to guess on how much he wanted to charge. Not sure if this guy was the owner or manager but I will certainly recommend to our family and anyone else to stay away from this place! I should have known since they had no prices posted anywhere! Beware of scam!!!!! As for the car wash that I went ahead and had done, came out fine and well worth the $20. read more

I went in to Pasadena Car Wash with one of their coupons from the website for an oil change (the discounted rate was around $42). I was told that it would be another $20 but wasn't given a reason as to why. There was nothing on the coupon citing exceptions - and even if there were, I don't drive an SUV or truck so made no sense. I asked for the general manager. He looked at the coupon as if he'd never seen it before and told me the same thing. He also could not give me a reason as to why. They simply refused to honor their own coupon. The coupon also gave a free car wash. I was not offered that either. SO I'm standing outside talking to the manager in the drive up area. I could not understand much of what the general manager was saying, to be honest. However, he was trying to get me to buy one of the expensive car washes. A lot of nerve. Then, an SUV pulls in and I get hit by it while I'm standing there! The car was moving slowly and the woman was very apologetic, so I let it go. BUT you'd think after all the inconvenience and being hit by a car on their property, he would, at a minimum, honor the damn coupon! Nope. I lost it at that point and let him have it. They reluctantly washed my car for free but I left without an oil change. Worst customer service experience ever. Avoid. read more

My husband and I both bought the ten wash booklets for our cars and once they are done we are not returning. After my first wash I noticed the outside of my car was still dirty as soon as I reached home. I suppose it's partially my fault for not inspecting the wash before leaving. After all, why would I assume that my car would be washed when paying someone to do so? I'm a tad bitter but it's really not a big deal! Then one day my husband asks me to make an appointment for him at our car dealership because his Bluetooth was damaged at the the car wash! The associate knocked a part of the Bluetooth device off of the dashboard and left it dangling without saying a word (and believe this is something you definitely would have noticed) to anyone about his accident. My hubby went inside spoke to the manager, who suggested that my husband purchase the double sided tape they sold and he would have it pasted back on! At that point my husband (who is a much calmer and collective individual than I) declined the manager's offer asked for a refund on his booklet (of course they refused) and decided he would rather pay to fix it elsewhere than have them touch his car again! read more

Had a disastrous experience at Pasadena Auto Wash. They used a polish that was clearly not suited for all parts of a car. As a result, the plastic on my back door handles has been irreparably damaged. To add insult to injury, when I approached the manager, Victor, for some form of resolution, he showed a complete lack of concern and professionalism. Instead of addressing the glaring evidence, he sidestepped responsibility and spun stories to deflect blame. It's clear that this establishment doesn't prioritize customer satisfaction or accountability. It isn't an isolated incident; a scan through other reviews shows numerous mentions of damages caused during services. But the real sting came from the manager, Victor. His dismissive attitude and refusal to acknowledge the problem left me dumbfounded. Regrettably, based on other reviews, it seems Victor's poor demeanor is a recurring theme. Avoid unless you're keen on potentially ruining your vehicle and being treated with utter disrespect. I wish I had read the reviews more carefully before going there. read more

This car wash is really the best that you can get. I have been going here for the last 15 years and not once have I had a bad experience. Their car washes, oil and lube, and detailing is on a level above that of any other car wash in Los Angeles. All employees are extremely respectful, honest, and friendly. On occasion, they found a $20 bill under my seat and the employee came into the waiting area inside the store and handed me the money. In addition to the great service, the car wash is also immaculate. The waiting area inside is always clean and extremely comfortable. On top of all of the great things that this car wash offers their customers, they do so at very competitive prices. This car wash is by the far the best, not only in Pasadena, but probably California. this is my honest opinion. read more

I had a terrible experience waited for the car for approximately 25 minutes and after the guy was done I went to check to see if there was anything I could find that was unacceptable and surely enough there were these yellow droppings all over the car that had not been cleaned there were black marks on the sides of the doors nothing was done I don't know what the guy was doing for 10-15 minutes or whatever it was it was working on it not a good job inside the seats were Dusty and leaves on the floor mat I was very disappointed I kept on showing the guy things that he needed to do and it seems like if I didn't point it anything he wasn't going to pay attention to any of the other details sad but true I give him a tip I should have asked for a refund I will never go there again read more

After experiencing a horrible car wash in Alhambra off Atlantic and Main St, where they stole my two red box movies and chip tint off my window. I decided to go back to Pasadena Auto Wash! Every time I came here I had a warm welcome, they take the time to explain the package options for you. And what I liked most is that Juan took the time to hear my bad experience and helped choose the best package for my car. Knowing that my budget was only $40 he helped me a lot! This is my go-to carwash spot! Great service and friendly workers. It tends to be pretty fast and there's free coffee/cookies and a comfy sitting area inside. They are very thorough with their car washes and my car is always spotless thanks to them! On top of that, getting gas and a car wash at the same time is so ideal for me! I've been coming here for many years (even drove from Northridge just to come here and continue to now that I live in downtown Los Angeles)! Came to this car wash earlier today, a lot of cars but a great atmosphere and means it's a popular place! Even with all the cars It didn't take a long time I was able to relax inside on the great leather couches with some free coffee, cookies, and free wifi. Let that sink in: I went from a $31 car wash to a $150 upsell without anyone lifting a finger to help. The issue wasn't the tire dressing--it was the terrible customer service. No effort, no accountability, and no concern for the customer. They treated me like a transaction, not a person. If your business can't spend two minutes fixing simple problem after taking a customer's money, you're not getting my money anymore- you're just pushing cars through a line. Look at the pictures..... it's a car wash. That's what they're supposed to do. Easy solution. Negative results.

Once I got there, I realized it was a self-service wash, and in nearly 100-degree weather, I was definitely not in the mood to wash my own car. So I circled back and decided to give JN Car Wash a chance, and I'm so glad I did. I chose the second-lowest wash package and honestly wasn't expecting much, especially since they were pretty busy. But they completely exceeded my expectations. My car came out looking fantastic. One thing that really stood out to me was the attention to detail. I have custom floor mats, and the last few times I've gone to other car washes, they've either put them back incorrectly or just thrown them in without much care. Here, they took the time to put everything back exactly the way it belonged. It may seem like a small thing, but as someone who takes pride in my car, I really appreciated it. On top of that, it was incredibly hot today, and the entire crew was out there working nonstop, sweating through the heat while still providing excellent service with a positive attitude. Don't let a few bad reviews scare you away like they almost did for me. My experience was excellent from start to finish, and I wouldn't hesitate to come back. Highly recommend!

However, the work itself only seemed to take 2 hrs hours. While waiting, I observed that my car was mostly just washed, lightly buffed on the exterior, and had some conditioner applied inside. After that, the car was left sitting there for long periods of time, making it seem like work was still being done when nobody was actually working on it. For $225, I expected much better service and attention to detail. Honestly, the results looked more like a basic $45 car wash. This is not my first time coming here, and unfortunately I have not been satisfied with the service. My advice to the owner is to please keep a closer eye on the employees and the quality of work being provided. Customers are paying good money and expect honest, professional service.

It's not worth it... it looks like they use regular tap water due to water spots left on the car... bad service, I would not recommend it, it's a rip off...
