I had a consultation with her a couple months ago because I was planning on changing stylists and I wanted her to confirm she could maintain what I had going on. I have been going to Parlour for almost 2 years now and this is honestly the happiest I've ever been with my hair. I have been getting my hair colored for 15 years and I've been satisfied with other salons, but never the way I have been with Parlour. Parlour is easy to find and located in a trendy part of town. From the moment I walk in the door, I am well taken care of. They offer me a beverage (water, tea, cocktail) as soon as I walk in and the waiting area is comfortable with reading material and a nice view of the street. I love the way the salon smells (think spa like) and I'm so obsessed with the music playing that I even started following their playlist on Spotify. I see Joe C. every 7 weeks and he never lets me down. It is truly a relaxing experience. We generally do not chat a ton which I actually love, because I can just sit and relax without feeling like we have to make small talk for 3 hours. He's always warm and friendly though and I never feel like he is rushing. He takes his time and is extremely thorough with every highlight and haircut. The prices are a little higher than I've previously paid, but you get what you pay for. Quality, organic product (Davines), quality service and a truly enjoyable experience, plus my hair is always fabulous! I am loyal to Joe, but I would honestly feel comfortable seeing any of the stylists. I can see the work they do on other clients and it's always flawless. I never feel guilty for investing in myself at Parlour and I'll stay loyal until the end! read more

Everyone I talk to is amazed that I had such a horrible experience at Parlour. But I did! I went to Mandy and then came back to Mandy (with owner Jessie's assistance) the very next day. The only reason I came back was for Mandy to correct the mess she made the day before. I asked for blonde ombré (think Lauren Conrad/Whitney Port) and showed her multiple pictures of what I expected. I came out with black hair!! I wish I was exaggerating. I literally was crying when I got up from my chair. Mandy insisted it would get lighter, but even she knew she was wrong and asked if she could try to fix it the next day. I should have known not to trust this woman who just confused black with blonde, but like a glutton for punishment, I came back. Jessie watched as she put in numerous foils and seemed happy with her little stylist's corrective efforts. But both my boyfriend and I noticed she was only adding foils not remedying the black base she had created. We voiced our concern but she promised everything would turn out perfect. It did not! Far from it actually. If black hair wasn't bad enough, now I had tiny blonde highlights throughout my still black hair!! Like another Yelper said, I looked like a zebra! In the end, I have learned my lesson. Parlour sucks! I will never ever be back (although I do feel the need to drop by with my new doo to show them what I was really asking for)! Mandy is a sweet girl (with great ombré hair herself-she obviously went to a real professional). But she needs to listen more to her clients and never blame a horrid hair mistake on a "miscommunication." read more

I will forever love this salon. A little over 2 years ago now I had been searching for a new salon/stylist in Cincinnati and happily found Parlour and Cassie at my rescue. The space: it's chic, it's functional, it's calm, it's inviting, it's simple, and dammit every time they update their decor I leave there inspired to do something new to my house. The service: always spectacular. Free craft cocktails, coffee, and tea. Everyone is smiling, warm, and happy to welcome you in and urgent to meet your needs. The product: Cassie has done almost everything under the sun to my hair and I have never been disappointed. It's been long, chopped off, purple, blue, grey, blonde, and brunette. Cassie, like the rest of the staff, is always eager and willing to try something new but also understands, and helps you to understand, that there is a science behind hair and color. There is some parking in their back lot, but if you don't find a spot, there is plenty of free on-street parking nearby. This was only my second time getting my haircut at Parlour. I was in this past weekend along with 8 girlfriends for my little sisters 21st birthday. This salon came highly recommended by a coworker of mine. I love Davines products and love nothing more than visiting other salons when I'm out of town. That being said, my first hesitation came when there were no appointment reminders. I made all 9 appts and the times varied. I called the day before to confirm and was told different times than when I had booked, which turned out to be different again upon our arrival. The receptionist was less than welcoming and didn't offer anything to drink and didn't even mention the fact that the appointments were running 10-15 minutes late. My favorite part of our visits was the service itself for some of us. 6/9 of us saw either Joe or Wesleigh. They were both so sweet and did an amazing job. I love the decor, the atmosphere, and the actual experience itself. The other three girls saw haley. A small complaint is one thing but all 3 said she was complaining about how much hair they had and was trying to talk them out of getting it washed so she could just curl and be done. Overall I was disappointed with the visit which makes me sad because Joe did such a great job with my hair. I just always want ALL of my friends to have a great time and have one less thing to worry about when we're away relaxing and I can't say that happened this time. A piece of advice to the owner, please get a new receptionist. It's the first person you see when coming into a salon and she's setting the wrong impression. read more

I've been to two different stylists at Parlour (because my first and favorite, Katie, was all booked up for a MONTH when I tried to go back), and my brother has been to another, so I feel like I can write a pretty cogent review at this point. I love Parlour. Both of the stylists I went to were super friendly, chatty, but not in the typical awkward hair salon way. Just natural, normal conversation. They make a big effort to learn their customers, and the second time I came in, Cassie even said "Have we met before?" (we hadn't). They have a rotating offering of complimentary cocktails, which I think is just a nice touch and encourages the environment of friendly, relaxed experiences. You can also book completely online, which is a favorite thing of mine, and allows you to see the exact price of whatever you're having done beforehand. A pet peeve of mine with salons is that prices usually start at the fee stated, and go up with the stylist's experience. For someone who usually tries new people a lot, this can be tricky to estimate beforehand. Both times I've been, I've had the option to make appointments with several different people within the week, so while they are busy, they are staffed enough to accommodate people. read more

When I moved here from Chicago, I was on the search for a new salon. I'm very picky when it comes to who cuts my hair so when a coworker recommended Parlour, I figured I would give them a shot. I am so glad I did! My first cut and dye job was with Candace and she did an incredible job. Since then, I've gone to Chrissy, Candace, and Logan and they've all blown me away every time. From product recommendations to giving me exactly what I ask for, they know what they're doing and make sure you leave looking your best and completely satisfied. I've been trying to find a *home* for my hair and I think this might be the place! I scheduled my appointment online, which was very easy & simple. 1 thing I really liked about the online booking is that it lists the price of the services with the stylists you would be scheduling with. I've been to a place where I walked in not knowing the price & nearly fainted when I got the bill! So I appreciate Parlour's policy! After going through many Instagram/ Facebook photos from the salon, I decided to go with Wesleigh and I am so happy that I did! She had such a great energy to her and understood what I wanted- I did bring a photo to help me explain. Being Asian, I've had a tough time with some salons understanding my hair texture- I have course, wavy, kind of frizzy hair- atypical of the sleek, pin straight, Asian hair, so I was nervous to see how this would go. Wesleigh came & got me, offered a drink, discussed what we were doing & to the washing bowl, we went! Very relaxing wash- the shampoo & conditioner smelled amazing- a little more natural & earthy smelling- but I like those type of scents! She started to cut & unlike some other places I've gone to, she was really easy to talk to! After she gave me a beautiful blowout, I did like how she asked me if I wanted extra styling products in my hair or if I liked it more natural. I really appreciate that because some salons will put pounds of product in your hair, and if you have sensitive, acne prone skin like me, it will cause some breakouts!! I told her no, I'm ok with natural and then proceeded to finish the styling. She wasn't pushy with selling products though I might eventually get some because they smelled so good! I did ask if she also did color- which I might end up trying later- and she said yes. I can't wait to go back & add some color! Until then, 4/5 for this place! :] read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I got a partial hi-light and asked for bright white hi-lights to the root in my hair. My hair stylist was Lauren, she explained it might take 3 times to get what i wanted and I didn't understand. I thought maybe she meant the amount of hi-lights I showed in the picture but not actually on my head. I had gotten a partial hi-lights before so my roots were showing from that. I walked out with maybe like 10 new hi-lights on top of my hair and my roots untouched from previous hi-lights. I will now be booking with a new salon to get my hi-lights done after already paying one salon to do this. I called to get a refund explaining that I don't feel comfortable having paid and realizing in the morning my roots are untouched and they refused to refund me. Overall I'm sensing people being very clueless about hair. I don't recommend this salon!! First time and never going back! read more

Went to Parlour for the first time last week and had a so-so experience. I love the haircut, especially for the price ($30). I would have definitely given it 5-stars if not for the customer service. The downsides were that it took forever to get an appointment. Each time I called the receptionist was somewhat rude and unaccommodating. Also, once I finally got an appointment the stylist was 25 minutes late and not very personable. I'll assume she was focused on cutting my hair... Overall, the haircut was great, but the customer service...not so much. read more

I've had my hair done by Chrissy and Cassie here. They are both very talented. Love them! This place looks so cool, but everyone that works there is sweet as can be. Most salons seem snooty and can make you feel uncomfortable, but Parlour really trys to make you feel welcome. Not to mention they offer you a cocktail created by Ryan from Please while you get your hair done. Woo! They also offer the ability to make your appointments online and I hate making phone calls, so I love that option. This place is doing it right. It makes me feel good to support a business like this. I don't live in Cincinnati anymore. I moved to NYC three years ago and am surrounded by 8 billion salons in NYC but I still only get my haircut by Jessie at Parlour. I followed Jessie from Beauty First and this weekend was my first experience at Parlour and I have to say, if it was even possible, but Jessie has gotten better. Way better. She gave me a cut and color that were so perfect I will refuse any other stylist from here on out. The atmosphere in this salon is fun and relaxed. Not pretentious or snooty. The girls who work here are cute and fun and they all have great hair (another sign of a good salon). I highly recommend going to this place for cuts and color. They really know their stuff. While it might be on the pricey side for Cincinnati, compared to NYC prices, this place is a total bargain. LOVE LOVE LOVE Parlour! read more

I told them I had curly hair and always style it as such so they scheduled me with Martin Lopez. Right when I walked into the place I was taken by the decor and the art. After stalking Parlour's instagram for a while, I decided it was time to take the plunge and scheduled a cut with Chrissy. From beginning to end, I had nothing but pleasant interactions with everyone there. Chrissy did a fantastic job with my hair - I went in with an idea of what I wanted but definitely did not do a great job of verbalizing it... Chrissy was patient and didn't make any cuts until she was sure we were on the same page. Furthermore, she was very skilled at guiding me towards what she knew would be best for my hair, texture, and lifestyle. I left Parlour smiling and overly eager for my hair to grow out to the point of needing another haircut! As a side note, I didn't get any color during this visit but as someone who works in the hair color/beauty industry, it's clear that the stylists at Parlour know what they're doing and I would definitely trust them with mine. read more

Guess I'm one of the few who had a bad experience with Parlour. I almost never write Yelp reviews but feel like this one deserves a mention. Based on the wonderful cuts Parlour stylists do on other people (which I saw on their instagram), and my friend's awesome cut, I booked a cut and color -- and asked for the person who was best with curly hair, as mine is very curly. Turns out, when I got my confirmation the day before the appointment, I'd only been booked in for a cut. So I phoned again, and had to wait almost a month until I could get another appointment. The person who cut my hair was very friendly, but it didn't feel like she had much experience with curly hair -- she was asking me how to wash and dry it. I showed photos of styles I wanted but ended up with what can only be described as a triangle. My color, besides covering up greys, is completely unnoticeable. This isn't the worst haircut I've had, but it's close -- and it was expensive. Now I'm waiting for my triangle to grow out. I wouldn't go back. read more

I went here for the first time and I was nervous because I had had several bad hair experiences in my past. I came in and was offered coffee, tea, or cocktails in the waiting area. I had a cup of coffee which was good and sat in the very nice waiting area. The entire salon is very elevated with a modern feel and good lighting. Chrissy did my hair and I felt like she really went the extra mile. It was evident that she knew what she was doing and I was able to relax and enjoy myself. She styled my hair in relaxed modern waves and even showed me how to do it when I asked. I highly recommend her for anyone but particularly blondes! I did want to mention that while my experience was great the front desk girls need to be a bit more "with it". I made a last minute appointment for my engagement pics and they could only get me in for a hair cut or hair 'accent' color is what I think they called it. I decided to go with the accent color as I don't really want my hair cut but just wanted it to look nice. They literally blew me away, they offer you beverages what seems like every 30 seconds, in a non annoying way and they ensure that you are comfortable. It isn't your typical hair place which is comical in the way that they look alike, it is different and even the strings hanging from the ceiling when you are getting your hair washed are mesmerizing. I went to Parlour a couple of weeks ago for the very first time. I'm a pretty shy person and was really nervous. I went in with a general idea of a cut and color. All I knew is I wanted an ombre, I really just wanted a change. Hayley was amazing, she was really sweet and I absolutely love what she did. Not only was Hayley great but so was the rest of the staff. Everyone I met was incredibly sweet, professional and helpful. I will absolutely be going here from now on. You know the saying "keep it simple stupid", right?! Well that was my motto when heading to Parlour for my most recent haircut. After a devastating experience at another salon, I decided once again to be brave and take a chance on a new salon and new stylist. I wanted something simple and shorter which really means, a bob. The cut isn't complex, but irregardless I am super happy with it. Haley, my stylist, ended up getting it just the right length so it doesn't look like I'm in the awkward hair growing out phase all while managing to cut off a good bit of my dead and damaged hair. Today's result, healthy shiny super cute hair. As a side note, this salon has 1. great products, 2. cute feel, 3. cocktails, tea and water offerings. Sounds like its a winner to me! read more

I love this place! I've found myself getting my hair done more often, and I think it's just because I love the environment here and my stylist (Hayley) so much that I don't like to wait too long between visits! Every single person I've seen here leaves looking absolutely beautiful and there are a lot of adventurous gals/guys that come in looking pretty average and leave as a whole new person. Hayley takes such good care of my hair and I really trust her opinion. She's not afraid to tell me if she thinks something isn't good for my fine, curly hair or recommend a product to counteract all my bleaching/straightening. Oh, if life could be as it once was! :) Chrissy was my regular stylist and nailed my haircut every time! I've had long + short bobs, bangs, an asymmetrical cut ... All looked great and no one has (sadly) been able to live up to that. I still keep in touch with Chrissy + am impressed to see how seriously she takes her craft. Girl has passion! She is constantly learning more techniques + upping her skill level by teaching with Davines.
