I'm so disheartened because I was hoping I'd be leaving a good review.. I called last Thursday to schedule an appointment for Saturday & everything was fine. I called Saturday morning to confirm my appointment but Amy at the front desk let me know I was not on the schedule even though I just scheduled two days prior.. they were able to fit me in 45 min after said appointment time anyways so I didn't get upset. Once arriving I was told I'd have to wait an additional 30 min which was confusing but I had time in the day to wait (ended up being almost 45 min of a wait) The service I wanted, I got talked out of by Tina the hairdresser but I trusted her word since she is the professional. I ended up getting a "curly cut" instead. My experience with her actually was good, customer service wise. It's not uncommon to leave a salon with damp or wet hair to air dry for curly hair (your preference) so while wet I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary plus the employees boasted about how good my hair turned out!! I get home and at this point my hair is lightly damp, my husband looks at my hair from outside the window & is SHOCKED. He couldn't believe the way my hair turned out & told me to look at it. I look at it in my phone camera and the "layers" Tina put in were chunks. I show a friend who is a hair dresser & she was appalled by how horrible the hair does not blend. I also asked for no length taken off and my overall length is shorter. I called to let Amy know I was not satisfied and what are my options. She lets me know she will talk to the owner about coming in to get it fixed. I told her I'm not sure I want to because since my left side is so short, I would have to go even shorter on my right side just to match it which was not the goal from the beginning. My original service had nothing to do with a haircut, I just trusted Tina's professional opinion to save my curls from having a baby 7 months prior. Amy lets me know she will discuss a refund from the owner Monday when she is back in the salon. George sends me an email Monday late afternoon but I didn't get to it until yesterday because of work. When I call, I'm told if I don't come in to get it fixed (which I already discussed why I declined that option) that I could come in M/W/F when the owner is in to see if my hair is worth a refund (Forgot to mention I was asked to send pictures and/or videos of my hair Saturday when I originally called & did so). I let George who was extremely kind & understanding know that I'm a full time working Mom & with my husband & babysitters' schedules, I can only come in on Saturdays. The owner from my understanding through communication would not work with me & refused to refund this service. I'm at a loss & will not be getting a refund unfortunately. It's also unfortunate that the owner Terri/Terry (unsure how her name is correctly spelled) cares more about money rather than a returning customer who just wanted to feel good in her skin after just having a baby not too long ago. I have plenty of friends who are business owners in the beauty industry that agree that this was a poor way to handle this situation. I can understand if I spent hundreds of dollars and took up hours of time that someone else could have been serviced, but I paid under $60 and it took about an hour - hour and 15 min in the chair total. Other than the dissatisfaction of the hair cut, this review is mainly to point out how this business can better handle a situation like this in the future. read more

I visited this salon for the first time today to have a wax done with Cassie. The salon itself is very clean and bright and I was taken for my appointment as soon as I walked in the door. Cassie was very attentive and listened to all of my concerns before we even started with the waxing. She did a very good job and kept checking with me to make sure that I was okay during the wax procedure. I am giving this review four stars because the prices on their website are not correct and I was a little surprised when my bill was $10 higher than I expected. I would still certainly come back to see Cassie in the future. read more

I used to love going here when I first moved here and I found a stylist that always did my hair perfectly, was nice & talkative & it wasn't awkward. Some of the people here are nice but I have yet to find anybody to do my hair correctly unfortunately. I've been twice the first time I went back the girl who did my hair barely talked to me which made it awkward and just overall wasn't very friendly, until while I was waiting she was super friendly & talkative to another girl who was in her chair. That's happened twice. The second time the stylist I got was nice & tried to chat but it just wasn't the same & it was obvious I wasn't her normal client so it was just small chat & again my hair wasn't what I asked for. George-who answers the phone is excellent he's super friendly & always asks people if they want a water or coffee which is why I gave the salon 3 stars bc he is awesome! read more

The feel of a trendy salon on the West Side of town. This salon opened next to Little Caesars about a year ago and has a new and modern feel. All stylists are friendly and seem to be up-to-date on current trends. I recommend Lori! She is easy to talk to and does an amazing eyebrow wax! She is not scared to make suggestions- which I love since I tend to keep doing the same thing time after time. Prices are certainly higher than Great Clips or any of the chain mass-market salons, but are comparable to other neighborhood salons geared at women. They are definitely lower than the high end salons, like Mitchell's. I have never had to wait when I arrive for my appointment and scheduling has always been a breeze. Check-out is quick and the guy who usually is doing it is super-nice! Looking for a new style or stylist, try this place out! read more

I've needed a new hair stylist for a long time. My previous one became a SAHM; I've been suffering with Great Clips alternating with one time visits to different salons in the city. I live on the West Side and have had some really great haircuts in other neighborhoods, but who wants to commute over an hour for a haircut? Ain't nobody got time for that! After reading the positive reviews for Envy, I made an appointment for a cut and highlights. I appreciate the time Sarah took discussing my desired style. I was looking for a short stacked bob, but she didn't feel it would come out well considering all the layers my hair had at the moment. I like that. I hate it when I go somewhere, the the stylist asks me what I want and then has no input as to whether or not the style is a good choice. She also spent time discussing the color of the highlights. I really appreciate suggestions and input. Other things: Plenty of parking. Salon was super clean. Telephone was answered immediately. And the price was fantastic! So happy to find a gret west side salon! I've already referred two friends to Envy (and Sarah). read more

I love this place! Every stylist is friendly and professional. Highly recommend Terri, she cuts my hair better than anyone else has in years! I could see a huge difference when I switched from my previous stylist (not at this salon) to her. She makes great suggestions and is really easy to talk to. Price is great, especially when I know I'll be walking away with a great haircut! They take appointments and walk-ins and also send you an email/phone call to remind you of any up-coming appointments. If you're on the West Side, you should definitly give Envy Salon a try! i have some anxiety about getting my hair cut because i've had a lot of haircuts and not all of them were good. i always bring a picture or two and research how to describe what i want in hairstylist terms. sam cut my hair. but really, she spent a lot more time trying to sell me other services and products than cutting. even though i told her i had products at home that i liked for the same purpose, she persisted. my hair didn't turn out AT ALL like i wanted, but i didn't want her to work on it any more, so i let it go. it looks stupid. but hey, it grows. she did give an awesome shampoo, though, and was extremely nice. read more

My bridesmaids and I got our updos at Envy Salon for my wedding, June 25, 2016. Everyone's hair looked beautiful and we had so much fun at the salon together getting ready! Everyone's hair held up very well all day long. Tara did my hair and it felt very secure. Definitely a good place to go for updos. read more

Most unethical and unprofessional experience at a salon in my life! I mentor a 17 year old young lady and had taken her here a few years ago for a manicure. She got her first job this summer and wanted to get her hair colored and cut. She made an appointment for a consultation and to get her hair done. I assumed ( incorrectly) that they would be professional and ethical in their treatment of a minor. She wanted her hair cut to her collarbone and a rose gold ombré. What she got was above the shoulder cut with a rose gold all over color. No ombré and much shorter than she wanted. Then they charged her $158! This is a 17 year old child. They offer NO discounts, not even military! The charge was supposedly because of the ombré and the time and product used to achieve it. Considering that there was No ombré, too short and the fact that she was not told how much this would cost at her consultation are completely outrageous. I would not recommend this salon to anyone! read more

AWFUL. About a month ago I went here to get an ombré done. I seen that it had good reviews so I figured it would be great for this. My hair was relatively healthy prior to this. Just in need of a trim. Mind you, the ends are the weakest part of your hair. Kelsi is the stylist I made an appointment with. This girl put BLEACH on the ends of my hair to lighten it for the ombré. I had stressed that I was in the process of growing my hair out. Therefore, I feel being she is the stylist she would've thought something less harsh should have been used. But I figured she knew what she was doing. She completely fried four inches of my hair. However, I didn't realize this until the following day. She did an awesome job of hiding what she had done by putting lots of product in my hair and curling the ends under. So for the past month I've been doing hot oil treatments and conditioning treatments to try and restore my damaged hair. Sadly, today I had to go and have 4+ inches cut off due to the damage this girl did to my hair. I highly regret going to this salon and will never be back. read more

I went to Envy for the first time, came out feeling great, and I'll be returning. Angie did great work with my long hair. I took pictures of what I wanted, and she walked me through exactly what she would do to my hair, and how it might be different from the pictures. Throughout the process she checked with me for how I was feeling about the cut, and whether I wanted a little more off. In a little less than an hour she fit in a shampoo, cut, and style. Prices are very reasonable, and the other employees of the salon were friendly and approachable. Thanks for a great experience! read more
