Well I have went to Michaels and had a stylist straighten my hair two times with success. I was very happy. Well the girl I had for the straighteners was no longer at the salon. I had another more experienced stylist for the straightening. It was confusing from the get go. They were talking about not having the instructions for the product they were gonna use. Anyway I have never been in such an awful situation at any salon. The stylist insisted that she had the right product. I knew it was not what was used. To make a long story short. When the stylist went to dry my hair , I was turned around so I was unable to see the back. Here I spent 90.00 including tip to get home and after waiting 3 days I washed my hair and it has all the strong waves , it did not take at all. She had only let the solution on 3 min after applying it. I was very upset cuz you can't just get it done again and my hair looked awful and I had to save to pay for that. She was way more expensive than the other stylist since she was there 6 years. Her cut seemed good. I had went to Beauty School years ago in Miami Florida so I know the process was wrong and I tried to tell Michael this solution needs to stay in my hair way longer to straighten it. He tried to tell her to leave it on longer when the Blonde stylist in the far right corner yelled just leave it on overriding Michael. Her chair is back in the far right . After she yelled that out she was talking softly to her client and she and the client laughed together! What an awful experience it all was. I ended up calling Michael 4 days after i washed and saw my hair all with my deep waves in the back still that I cannot control in the Summer at all. He said he could give a conditioner since it was very damaged. I told him I have a great conditioner at home. So I hung up and tried to call back my stylist hoping I could get some money back since my hair was not straightened at all. Here Mike answered and I told him who I was and I wanted to take to my stylist . He ended up extremely angry and just said I offered you a condition treatment so I just hung up. If I ever in any profession, as in a stylist , I would have offered a little money back. 30 .00 or so and I would have felt respected and understood tgat my hair was gonna even be harder to work with . So I'm sad I really liked Michael and was so thankful for their pricing and he was always gracious. So I'm sorry to have written this review but you have to know what you are doing when giving this type of service. read more

Michael does a fantastic job every time and his prices are more than fair. He is very accommodating. We are always greeted with a friendly smile and the atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. I went to Michaels salon because I was referred to Michael himself since he has been doing hair for over 20+ years. I liked my hair color walking into the salon and asked to take my blondest highlight and make it slightly lighter. He brought over color swatches to ask what I thought. I'm not certain why he asked me when he's the professional. Then during the cut he asked how much I wanted off and I said an inch. Well that is an inch off the length not all over. You Trim up the long layers that is already there. I said, my so called bangs go down to the top of my cheek. He did question the start of the bang or end of it. I thought he would show me what he meant before cutting but that was not the case. He is very sloppy to the point he burnt the side of my face/head with the bleach because he left it on there the entire time. I tried telling him there was some on my forehead and he got upset that I went to even show him. Maybe if he would slow down on putting color on he wouldn't drip it all over. So the final result was the incorrect hair cut and I was a complete blonde. None of my original brown was there in which that is not what I asked for nor was it that way in the picture I showed him. Then on the top of my head I looked like a Zebra or an armadillo with thick different colored stripes on my head. I called back the next to have the stripes fixed. He said one of his workers will handle the fix. I showed her what he did and also showed her my original picture I showed him and she said where is your brown hair. I said it's gone he made me a blonde. I said if you can add some back in and make me look like this picture great if not just fix the stripes. She assured me she could get me looking like the picture. Well I walked out of there will brown fried hair. It took me a long time to get me to a color I liked and not have fried hair and they set me back. I dont look good as a brunette and it washes me out. Michael thought it looked like I had blonde hair again. Has he gone mad?? So upset and miserable. This will take a long time to get it right again. I'm the one who has to pay for looking like crap and they gone on with their lives. read more

Besides being so nice, she is a great stylist..She has been there for a year and does such a great job!!! Next time you need a cut or color she is the one to go to!!!! read more

Services were ok but un professional as the stylist would often talk down and bad about other stylist just trying to make it. Then another thing I know you can't always clean up right away but every time I would go there the shampoo bowls were a mess. It's like the proper cleaning is not being done then don't let me get started on the smell I only continued to go because it was quick and the only place I could get in. read more

I took my daughter while we were in town visiting family. They were running behind so my manicure was pretty basic. It was fine. Nothing outstanding, she was very sweet and friendly. She does interesting nail art but we didn't have any art done. The salon is fine - I didn't feel very appreciated or welcome. I probably wouldn't recommend and won't return. Would have enjoyed a more "spa" like experience - having my nails done jammed in a corner of the shampoo room wasn't quite the day out I had in mind. read more

I came here for the first time the other day, my boyfriends family are regulars. Michael was so kind and he genuinely was such a good guy. He showed how much he cared and gave me great advice and prices no one else could beat. Update on previous review: Haven't been been in a while, but my stones on my nails kept coming off and they are way over priced there, specifically for the nails. Maybe it's because they are not a lot of nail techs there, but I shouldn't have to pay over $100 for a fill, a solid color and literally two stone (and those popped off after about a day or two). I did go back in so she can fix it, but they still didn't last. I ended up going to another salon and just had a color change to erase where the stones were and waited to get another fill. Idk maybe it was just me who experienced this, but yeah I'm okay on that. Good customer service I guess but can really improve in the nail department. read more

I was staying in Cincinatti for the weekend and was from out of town. My husband was staying at the casino so i decided to find a nail salon and get my nails done. After searching through a ton of nail salons i ended up choosing michaels and im glad i did. This is actually a small hair salon with two nail techs that also work there. The shop is located in a very nice little neighborhood. I was worried when i seen they werent a nail salon but do not let that sway you. There is a man and wife that work together as the nail techs. The husband does all of the regular or simple nails and the wife does anything and does very artistic nail art that is amazing. I was only able to make an appointment with the husband but i was only getting a fill in of acrylic nails and just wanted one color. He was so shaky i couldnt believe he was able to work on my nails but he did such a great job! They have a pretty decent selection of colors to choose from and the only reason i gave this place 4 stars is my polish didnt last no time. In a weeks time it was very badly faded and super streaky, but i believe its because i went with a very light holographic nail. My husband and i stay in cincinatti every weekend and i plan on making my next appointment with them and with the wife. To see them you need to make an appointment. Also i couldnt believe how affordable they were! For a fill in of acrylic and holographic paint it was only $20!!! Really recommend checking this place out. They were all very nice and treated me with respect and made me feel right at home. read more

I heard nothing but good things about Michaels. I had gone there in the past with Erin but was unable to see her because of my schedule. I saw Marissa for a highlight and trim. My hair is orange with tiger stripes and she really didn't trim it at all. After sitting there for 3 1/2 hours she just kept telling me to use the "purple shampoo" and it will help with the brassy color. It really upsets me because I had a picture with the exact colors used and how they were used and I look absolutely ridiculous and I'm out $85. Hair Stylist Dawn over books and rushes through when coloring... She has often had customers waiting with color in there hair while she starts on another customer. so Make sure you don't run into traffic because if you are more than 5 minutes late for your appointment You are leaving with wet hair, she will refuse to blow you out. I was 12 minutes late and my appointment was at 10:30 . I showed up and the parking lot was full I had to park down the street ], Which also me run a bit behind... so parking can be a bitch but that's that big of deal, but it was raining so it sucked... she said I have a 11:30 so I cant blow u out... Mind u my appointment was at 10:30 Are you serious ..because she only allows 1 hour for your appointment and most salons allow two.. My good friend that lives in L.A owns a very successful Salon and told me the problem with Booth rental Salons is that The owners sometimes will suffer because of the Stylist have a "I I work for myself attitude" and can care less about the Salons reputation that any good Business owner will allow a 15 minutes Windows in between appointments this allows Customers to be assisted properly and gives the stylist time to prepare for their arrival - Clean work station, Styling tools ect , and gives the customer a little Window incase they run into traffic it Happens Were Human ... It is always a mess and dirty because of this overlapping appointments.. I have only been late one time in the 2 years that I have been going there and do to this over booking over scheduling bull crap I was treated very poorly for being 12 minutes late I allowed her to start on my hair and she continued to complain about how booked up she was, and I was extremely uncomfortable and could not believe that I was being treated this way in a place of business, so I asked her to stop and I left and will NEVER GO BACK THERE!!! then she went on to complain that the last appointment I had I didn't keep, well because I scheduled with her but she tried to pawn me off on Erin ,, no offense to Erin she is a nice girl but the last time I let her do my hair because Dawn was booked all Week , surprise surprise She over processed my hair, so when they called me the day of my appointment and said Dawn couldn't do it and would it be ok if I seen Erin, I said No..... But she can do a touch up on my roots and I will just wait for Dawn to be available to finish my lowlights and Highlights.... They wanted to charge me full price for both visits,, so I just said forget it and said I would call to schedule once I got my next schedule from Work. so I rescheduled with Dawn and I .. waited two Weeks to get in with her after she cancelled on me...She treated me like total crap for being 12 minutes late because She is all stressed out about being overbooked, She so stressed out but will race to the phone even while doing your hair to book her self another appointment, so It is her own fault.. My guess is that its ..She will gossip to her customers about other stylist there like Them overbooking or having dirty Styling tools or Stations but She does too SMH I like the owner but he really needs to set up a better system so that the Stylist are not overbooking and treating HIS CUSTOMERS like crap.. read more
