I love Spruce! I've been to both locations multiple times and service is always great. They are very skilled at what they do and it's a beautiful environment. The downside is that it's pretty pricey - was around $250 for a mani&pedi and a travel size cuticle oil after tipping both of the staff. Definitely a once or twice a year event. Had never been here before but really needed my nails done and was so busy leading up to Thanksgiving that I didn't have time to book an appt where I live in Arizona. I used to live in Columbus and loved going to W Nail Bar. I looked for something similar in Cincy and found Spruce. I could tell by the website that I'd love it. I was able to make it in for a mani and pedi and I felt so spoiled the entire time I was here. They have a pleasing aesthetic and multiple nail techs who make friendly conversation. Bonus that they are located next door to Deeper Roots- a fave of mine! I REALLY want to give them 5 stars, but unfortunately the gel on my nails started chipping less than a week later (my toes are still going strong, luckily!). I would give them another chance at the nails, but I'm used to my places lasting 3-4 weeks for gel. So given the price I paid, I was surprised it started to chip closely after my appointment. And the downside of not living close by is that I couldn't go in and have it touched up. But I'd love to go back next time I'm in Cincy, even if it's just for a pedicure, which was fabulous! read more

Everyone there was super nice and accommodating and the place itself is very cute. so for a gel manicure that completely fell off my nails after 4 days, whoever did them did not buff my nail out enough to let the gel stick. Picked this nail salon because I had some errands to do around Findlay market (and the photos of the place looked cute) and I'm so glad I came here! Not only is it a super cute salon with good music, plants, an instagrammable neon sign and brick walls, but they foster a safe space which I love and immediately makes you feel comfortable. My nails came out fantastic even though I felt risky doing white at a new salon (sometimes it needs ten coats or doesn't cure as well as other colors). The polish was bold on the very first coat and my technician Alix was so friendly and a pro- she did a quick yet flawless job. I'm excited to go back and try the gel extension and builder gel which are healthier nail alternatives to acrylics (they actually help grow and strengthen your natural nails!) And come to find out they have a whole menu of skin services too, so a high frequency facial is also in store for the future. read more

Spruce is not your typical nail salon and you will instantly feel the difference when you walk in. It's untraditional and has its own unique style. The staff was friendly, everything was clean, and my nails look great! The downside is that you usually have to book well in advance or get lucky with a cancellation. The prices are a little higher than your typical nail salon but nothing crazy. I loved that it didn't feel rushed and I was able to relax a little. I have been going to Spruce since they opened years ago on Vine Street and have never had any issues or complaints. I bounce between both locations depending on availability and receive the same excellent service at both. The spaces are so clean and the staff is excellent! If you are thinking of going this place, run as fast as you can. I booked an appointment on a Wednesday around 6:00pm for the upcoming Saturday at 2:30pm. I was sent a simple appointment conformation email and that was that. (See photo below) Saturday, around 11:00am I was sent a last minute email reminding me of "outstanding forms I needed to fill out" This was the first "reminder" email I had been sent since the appointment was set. Upon looking at this 'form' I noticed this "nail salon" was unable to remove any form of sns, acrylics, etc. and would have to have it done by another salon prior to the appointment and if I showed up with anything on they would charge my card and turn me away. I was stunned at this last minute form and confused because I had never heard of a salon not being able to provide this service. I called the salon immediately and the representative confirmed they could not do any removals and would charge my card for cancelling as I did not have enough time to stop at another salon before my appointment. I asked if I made another appointment could this fee be waived due to the form being sent to me last minute. She said no, and that is their policy and her floor manager was busy and could not speak to me. I asked her to hold while I looked at this information that was supposedly sent to me in the confirmation email. I was frustrated to see at the bottom, hidden under what is seems to be normal confirmation email, had extras not at all highlighted or in caps saying they were unable to provide any of these services and would charge you and turn you away. (See photo below) (What is this, a medication company hiding all the bad symptoms that may come about?!) WHAT A SCAM. I told the representative I was extremely frustrated and to let the owner know I would be leaving bad reviews, did not appreciate my experience, and could not believe a NAIL SALON could not provide a NAIL service. Now onto the owner responding to my reviews :) Hi Molly, To start, I checked your website, and the only place your "policies" are listed are under cancellations. Nor, is this listed anywhere if you are simply booking online (see photos below) If I am simply looking to book an appointment with you and go about my day, there is NOTHING in caps, highlighted, a box to check, ANYTHING to say HEY! We can not provide a service that EVERY OTHER nail salon can! Yet you can hide it under a seemingly normal confirmation email stating if someone shows up you will turn them away and charge them??? That is something I simply can't understand. Next, I was never rude to your coordinator. I absolutely stated I would leave bad reviews, was extremely frustrated you would be attempting to charge my card, and experienced pathetic customer service experience. You also tried to use an analogy stating not all hair salons do hair extensions. I completely understand this, however, what I can not understand is how a salon that markets themselves as having skilled techs do amazing designs, can not do removals. A better analogy, is if I went to a salon, got my hair colored, and they said they couldn't dry it because they don't use blow dryers. I mean cmon girl. I had every desire to have a manicure down at your salon, however, I did not expect to not be able to have a simple removal service done beforehand as any other nail provider in the tri-state area can do. To state I am trying to destroying your business is quite far-fetched to say and unprofessional. I had an awful experience, and want everyone to know of these hidden policies and never have to experience this themselves. I also want the management and owner know the extreme disappointment and implement items in order for this to not happen to others. That my dear, is called criticism. A cousin of mine recently had her nails done here, for the most part the quality of the job was nice, the nails look clean and sharp. Big complaint is the coloring on the edge of each mail varies in width from mail to mail. I wouldn't mind if the price wasn't $75 and if it wasn't so noticeable. She went back the next day to see if they could fix it and they did apologize and acknowledge the lack of quality in the job but said they could not fix it because they had no space on that day - which I understand but they didn't offer to book her for another day or offer any credit. Just disappointing that they did a job like this and charged $75 which for $75 the variation mail to mail should not be noticeable and that they offered no remedy. Unfortunately she will not be going here anymore neither will any of our friends. I think you have to make your customers feel valued and they certainly did not do that. In other pedicures I have had, I have never had someone spend so much time on the maintenance aspect, and I loved that she took such good care of my feet! While she was working, she was so sweet and kind, and next time I come back (which I definitely will!) I'm going to request her again! You know a place is good when the reservations are hard to get! I have a flexible work schedule so I was able to snag a last minute late afternoon appointment for a pedicure before leaving on a trip. I found the website very easy to use to book, but I think they take call ins as well. I signed up for the basic pedicure. I arrive a couple minutes early, but ended up waiting about 5 minutes after the appointment time - no biggie - worth the wait. I asked for help picking out a color, as I was unfamiliar with the natural brands. I picked a color that was slightly darker than my fingernail shellac. Andrea did my pedi and she was wonderful! Friendly, but I think she sensed I was there to relax and wasn't too chatty. It was the BEST pedicure experience I've ever had. I left feeling like I could take on the world. The disappointment comes from the actually polish. It dried SO much darker than the original color, to the point it was basically dark brown instead of a purplely pink. It also chipped the very next day. Usually I have great luck with toe nail polish, but this was my first experience with natural.
